[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95327] New: Update app instructions
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95327 Bug ID: 95327 Summary: Update app instructions Product: Impress Remote Version: 2.1.3 Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Android app Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: my...@gmx.com I was quite confused when using the application why it was not working (it works fine now). There were two points where I got lost. 1) I thought the app would initiate bluetooth pairing as needed. The instructions should suggest that you need to pair before using the remote application. 2) The mobile application does not state that after enabling the remote on the desktop PC, you need to restart the desktop software (all of LO). I spent quite some time playing with bluetooth, and searching for why it did not work, until I restarted LO, at which point it magically worked. The instructions I am referring to are in the "Requirements" page of the application. Specifically the text should include "restart all libreoffice applications to take effect" (under "generic"). In the bluetooth section it should say "A paired bluetooth connection to the target computer", or similar (emphasising "pairing"). This could alternately be changed in the LO desktop version to clarify this (eg via a popup dialog. I am using version 2.1.3 downloaded from F-Droid. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95300] Impress stalls on 3-liner text block in Ubuntu 15.10 and 15.04 but not in 14.04 and 12.04
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95300 ullixchanged: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #5 from ullix --- Björn's suggestion of this bug being a hardware driver regression made me do some investigations using some new computers and old clunkers lying around. Preliminary possible conclusion: this bug exists on all computers with Intel CPUs younger than 8(!) years, but not with AMD CPUs, and only when running *buntu 15.04 and 15.10. Running *buntu 12.04 and 14.04 worked fine on all computers. What I did: I downloaded Ubuntu MATE 15.10 (kernel Linux 4.2.0-16-generic (x86_64)) and created a LIVE USB stick (had to use mkusb, as a stick made with usb-creator-gtk from 14.04 was not bootable). This stick was run as LIVE system on several computers, and the stalling test3line.odp presentation was tested. A hardware report using hardinfo was created also. Result: (year the CPU was launched) (2006): WORKING: Intel Core2 T7200...(Chipset 945GM) (2008): NOT WKG: Intel Atom 300..(Chipset 945GC) (2013): NOT WKG: Intel i7-4771...(HD Graphics 4600) (2015): NOT WKG: Intel i5-5200...(HD Graphics 5500) (2012): WORKING: AMD A10-5800K...(Radeon 7660D) Assuming this has something to do with the graphics drivers, I added the info on chipset/graphic. All computers used the build-in graphics. All Intel computers used the i915 kernel module. (The AMD used radeon). Impress does not crash on this bug - there simply is no update of the screen until you have done enough clicks that the presentation ended. Then it is back to the normal edit window. Even --backtrace does not give any info. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95192] SORTING Natural sorting not working with text fields
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95192 --- Comment #5 from Heiko Tietze--- As far as I understand the issue we have either a bug in the natural sort function or a misconception of whitespaces. But not an UX issue. Current sort order is: Via A. Centurione 11/7 Via A. Centurione 13/3 Via A. Centurione 2/5 Via A. Centurione 3/5 Via A. Centurione 4/1 Intended behavior with Natural Sort [1] enabled: Via A. Centurione 2/5 Via A. Centurione 3/5 Via A. Centurione 4/1 Via A. Centurione 11/7 Via A. Centurione 13/3 The question is why this list isn't sorted as expected. Could be due to the slash, or because of the combined number. But the list isn't sorted even after removing all of the strange stuff (just Via... 13, Via... 2 etc.). And how whitespaces are treated should be discussed in #50786. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95274] Wrong editing languages offered
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95274 --- Comment #11 from Michael Bauer--- Errr right. I mean, thank you for pointing that out but I think I will continue keeping this bug open because that must be the most un-intuitive menu in LO. I have done multi-lingual wp for over two decades and this is really not practical. The menu I screenshotted should show the languages I installed for UI/proofing, always. But perhaps most importantly, that Fonts tab needs a complete overhaul because if you label something Fonts and put a font dropdown next to font size and a languages dropdown, that suggest this is some sort of font-to-size-to-language mapping for defaults. There is literally nothing on that tab that suggests to a user who isn't a LO developer that this is the place they can manually set the language for a document, section or paragraph. And it needs a tickbox for "Do not automatically detect my document language". Because it clearly gets it wrong badly, otherwise why suggest en-US over my installed preference of en-GB? That probably means it's more of a UI bug though than linguistic, that one I'm not sure of. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50786] EDITING: sort or natural sort of text should ignore spaces
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50786 --- Comment #1 from Heiko Tietze--- Some more additions: In #95192 the sorting of street numbers is discussed. To generalize I'd ask how to sort with multiple numbers. My suggestion is to use all until the first whitespace (or rather the first stop character) Text 1/15 Text 2/11 Text 3/9 Text 4/3 With respect to the name there might be also the need to sort independent from the name affix. The German rules define that "von der Lippe" has to be collated at L - affixes "von" plus "der" are not part of the sort order unlike the Flemish "de". So why don't we trust the system settings of collation here? Guess there is something similar to Linux' LC_COLLATE under Windows and Mac Os. On the other hand, how should LibO Calc knows what kind of text is in the cells? Adding more switches makes the ugly dialog even worse. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95272] Fixed line spacing works incorrectly in Impress and Draw
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95272 bellga...@iftc.uni-hannover.de changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Resolution|NOTABUG |--- Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #5 from bellga...@iftc.uni-hannover.de --- Hi, I strongly disagree with your opinion. The observed behavior in Impress totally different from what is expected for fixed. Fixed means the line spacing is keep at the value you are setting in the paragraph dialog box and is not dependent of the content of the text or some character size and position. This fixed option is available in Impress, and the observed behavior is different from that and from what is described in the help. So, consequently it is a bug. If I really want the present behavior I can choose another line spacing option. Second: I am not talking about upper-case and lower-case letters but about superscripts and subscripts. Please don't mix that. If you did your test carefully you would find that the change in line spacing also appears for superscripts, as clearly shown in my sample document. In your example, please increase the vertical position and/or size of the superscript and you will see the same effect as for subscripts. Third: Any software should do what the user want and not the program decides what should be emphasized or not. I am working professionally with presentations for many years. So, don't tell me how presentations should look, please. I added that sample from writer only to demonstrate the correct rendering of "fixed line spacing". If I create the same text in Impress from scratch it should look the same. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95272] Fixed line spacing works incorrectly in Impress and Draw
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95272 Bookman900changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|NEEDINFO --- Comment #6 from Bookman900 --- (In reply to bellgardt from comment #5) > Hi, > > I strongly disagree with your opinion. The observed behavior in Impress > totally different from what is expected for fixed. Fixed means the line > spacing is keep at the value you are setting in the paragraph dialog box and > is not dependent of the content of the text or some character size and > position. Sorry, but this point is unclear. DO you men here "registration"? One of the problems in your ticket is that you do not reproduce textually what you are doing. You should remember that the community is multi-lingual, and "fixed line spacing" seems to have variations in language packs. Moreover, it not clear which fix do you want? "Registration"? "Not adding space between paragraphs of different styles"? F.e. "registration" is not included in Impress, so you won't expect the "fixes line spacing". Then, in Impress two ways of adding space are used: via adding text in F2, or using a template. The "registration" is added to Writer, but Writer is different from Impress (like Word is different from PowerPoint) as they serve for different purposes. In Impress you are expected to present better viewing; in Writer -- better typogrpahical quality of the text. I cannot help you with reproductions until you write the particular dialog box, particular button and the steps you did. Please, feel free to add these steps, or otherwise your ticket will not be accepted by QA team, as the idea is still unclear. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95293] Mailmerge serial print fails
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95293 --- Comment #4 from Alex Thurgood--- I have just tried this on OSX 10.11 with LibreOffice 5022 from TDF download. I used a Writer document that contains field references pointing to a query defined in an ODB file that connects to a mysql database. I was able to both print out a series of letters using data from the query result, and create a series of individual files saved to disk containing that data, so mailmerge works for me under those conditions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37089] LibreOffice should warn explicitly that it can't use a 64bit JRE
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37089 --- Comment #22 from Kumāra--- Joel, I agree, with you. While no one is fixing this yet, please consider 2 temporary quick "fixes": 1. Indicate in the download page that LO works with JRE 32bit, not 64bit. 2. Indicate the same in the Java Options section. But of course best if LO (32bit) for Windows simply wouldn't show the JRE 64bit in the Java Options. This should be better than just warning. But still good to do point too above as well. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95337] New: A document's default zoom level and an open sidebar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95337 Bug ID: 95337 Summary: A document's default zoom level and an open sidebar Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1 Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: ux-advise Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com CC: libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org Blocks: 65138 I've noticed that if i open documents in writer that were created with a closed or hidden sidebar at a particular zoom level, when i open up the document with the sidebar open, the document normally is to large to fit, which results in having to reduce the zoom level everytime i open up the document. The only remedy would be to save the document at the reduced zoom level, but this only works on a per document bases rather than a global bases. So i was wondering if it is possible to know whether the document was saved with the sidebar closed/hidden and then adjust the zoom level accordingly if its open when opening the doc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95343 Bug ID: 95343 Summary: Pasting text from Wine apps into LibreOffice 5.x broken in GTK3 interface Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.2.2 release Hardware: Other OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: sb56...@gmail.com Pasting from Wine programs into LibreOffice 5.x with the default GTK3 interface usually doesn't work. However on the same system, pasting from the same Wine program into LibreOffice with "SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN gtk" works correctly every time.
