The issue mentioned in the bug description is reproducible for me with LO
5.0.3.2, Win 8.1. The fact with hidden files I could not verify.

For me this seems maybe to be linked to the fact, that the folder preview in
Templates shows (if available) four images/templates, but if you go down to the
templates itself it makes for me no sense to make the image preview that small.

Note to test it:
Open the LibreOffice Start Center and to go TEMPLATES or RECENT FILES

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95674] New: Pictures scrambled extremly slow

2015-11-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95674

Bug ID: 95674
   Summary: Pictures scrambled extremly slow
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: schne...@lathanda.de

Created attachment 120383
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=120383&action=edit
Screenshots

My document works perfectly fine under libreoffice 4.x
If i open it with libreoffice 5.0.3.2 the pictures show in low resolution.
Scrolling sometimes needs 8 sec to scroll a single page, rendering only half
the screen while scrolling.
Every page update needs at least 5 sec.

My computer should be fast enough for a text writer. (i7 3,8ghz, 16gb ram, ssd)

The attachment shows a screenshot of libreoffice with the broken images.
The other screenshot shows the pdf export.

I can provide the document for testing, but not public.

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor

 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rou...@gmx.net

Hi,
for a long time I have been facing this issue with various former versions of
LibreOffice and I wonder why I could not find such a bug in the forum:

Always when I have an open libreoffice instance loaded with an odt or ods file,
and then click in explorer to open another document of 'foreign file type' like
xls or rtf, nothing happens. Then, when I close the current instance, document
recovery pops up, and only after I click that away, the xls file would be
opened.
It is always the same behaviour.

Can you help?

This specific isssue is for me not reproducible with LO 5.0.3.2, Win 8.1.

But I have another rendering problem, because "Match Case" has a larger font

Just to clarify - I'm not a developer either and thus, when I report bugs
(which I've reported quite a few), I don't say "this needs to get fixed" as
it's not my time that is needed to fix it. If a volunteer tackles it one day,
awesome, else, I'll wait patiently and continue doing my part to make the
project better (reporting, triaging, etc... etc...). If that makes me a jerk, I
suppose I can accept that.

Anywho, I wasn't trying to pick a fight or take the subject off topic, I was
just trying to keep expectations realistic. If you're unhappy with volunteer
developers tackling bugs as they please (and adding features as they please),
then yes, I suppose this isn't the project for you

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95267] Copy of comment from one doc to another changes the comment text font size

2015-11-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95267

The default font size for comments on Linux appears to be 12pt (and the font:
Liberation Serif). I have used Format All Comments to set this to 10pt in both
the source and target documents.

If I copy a comment from the source to the target, the pasted comment is pasted
as 12 pt.

When you tried to reproduce it, could you try first formatting all the source
document comments' font size to something smaller than the default font size?
Perhaps that makes a difference?

I have noticed a possibly-related problem, too:
I have copied some comments "ahead" of where I am editing currently;
the editing involves changes to the text, and sometimes I copy more comments
across into the target text I've just changed;
despite having used "Format All Comments", sometimes when I look at the
comments "ahead", they have reverted to 12 pt.
Oh, I just went skimming back earlier in the document, and found one *earlier*
comment that had also reverted to 12 pt.

I have the zoom factor in the source document set to 80%, that of the target
set to 110%, in case that's relevant?

Also, the body font and paragraph styles in the source document are quite
different to that of the target: source is Times New Roman 14pt, with pretty
much the default paragraph styles, I think; the target document uses the
CreateSpace template, so has quite different paragraph styles, and the body
text is Garamond 9 (which seems to somehow work, even though I don't have
Garamond installed, yet).

I can't think of anything else which might be relevant... If I do, I'll add a
comment.

Setting this to invalid because using the most current version drastically
improved the performance issues. Asc/desc filter sorts still don't work, but

just sudo apt-get install valgrind

2) To run it (the wiki needs some real love from documentation team as it's
overly complicated)

valgrind --tools=callgrind ./soffice.bin

that'll create new log files (several). Look for the largest file as it's most
likely the right one

Fails for me exactly as described in comment #1 using version 5.03.2 under
Linux. I have other documents where the same type of behavior has been
observed. This is not a corner case unless using graphics and frames is
considered a corner case. It sometimes takes a lot of work to get your
graphics or frames to not move around on you after closing and re-loading, or
as in this case, just deleting and undoing.

After opening a spreadsheet with similar data but only 57 rows the performance
issues were still there. So it is not a matter of the amount of data.
The only thing that might gunk up the works are the column data filters. Even
the ones from LO (auto filter) seem not to work right, at least what sorting
ascending and descending is concerned.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95578] A dispersion chart show totally wrong data after updating formulas with F9

2015-11-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95578

I am showing you the situation in the most apparent case, when the correlation
coefficients 1 and the variances of the two variables are equal: in this case
the data cloud reduces to a single line, and the angle of it is 45°.

In the first attach, the data in columns B and C are correctly mirrored.
However, now press F9 twice and the data clouds expands to what you see in the
second attach:
it is easy to check that it is wrong since, as said above, in this case X and Y
should take the same values, forming a 45° steep line: this happens on the data
range; but does NOT in the chart, where data shown are clearly NOT those in
columns B and C: it is sufficient to check that they do not have equal
horizontal and vertical coordinates.

Using a debug build would not help with issues of the Windows buid's Microsoft
Installer packaging. Rather, you can capture a full log of the installation as
with any .msi package from the command line.

In a command window "run as administrator" change to directory where you have
the download and enter this command:

msiexec.exe /i LibreOffice_5.0.3.2_Win_x86.msi /L*v log5032x86Win.txt

adjust the name of the installer, and the log file as needed.

The /L*v will log a verbose accounting of the installation. View it with a text
editor and look for error notes. If you like zip it up and add as an
attachment.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85677] Dragging on a Windows touchscreen highlights instead of scrolling

I can verify this behavior on a Windows 8.1 ASUS T100 tablet. Additionally to
swiping highlighting instead of scrolling, it is impossible in a spreadsheet to
copy a formula by touch into a series of cells with a click and drag, the way
you can do in MS Word.

This is a pretty big quality-of-life issue with using this program. Please
update to include true touchscreen compatibility ASAP.

Sorry, have to withdraw my support here.
I meant to support that it's annoying needs attention etc usw.
But I did skip reading the end. And it is no option (for multiple reasons) that
bugs get "sorted out once and for all *before* new features are added."
That really is impossible and not going to work.
Sorry for the confusion.

The issue still exists with LO 5.0.3. I found no explizit sequence to reproduce
the behaviour, but it occurs after working with Impress for a while, e.g. for
10 to 20 minutes. This is reproducible.

Additionally I found a further performance issue, which has not necessarily the
same root cause: Typing as well as deleting of characters becomes very slow
when the main outline is empty, e.g. after inserting new slides. After
inserting some text in the main outline, speed of typing/deleting characters
normalizes.

All these annoying performance issues do not exist with LO 4.4.

At last, I've created a set of test files (created with LO 4.4.3.2) to
reproduce the "osl::Thread::create failed" bug.

I've also added the instructions in the README.txt file to reproduce the bug as
we need to open around 35 files, which raises the RAM up to 1,5 Go.

It is not the fastest way to reproduce it but it crashes (with my production
files I also need to open around 20 files).

Thanks a lot.

considering to spend time to do some research, preferably with Linux so that it
can actually be seen by a developer?

I just tried this again on a fresh installed LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 with the same
result. I's a quad-core machine with 8 GB ram and a dedicated video-adaptor.

Same issue still exists...

On running a two-screen set-up, using the second screen as "beamer" I notice
that the text in the slide containing the audio file shows up 10 seconds AFTER
the audio started playing, which preceded a 10 second pause to play the audio
in the first place. In the console view on the laptop screen, the view remained
empty, just the background image shows but no text-overlay. It does show,
however, on the second screen acting as beamer.

The bottom line is in this case 2x a 10 second wait for any response. The
presentation timer freezes and jumps 20 seconds forward.

This really starts to be annoying. Developers take action and start researching
this please!

Best regards

Peter

This is not how the project works - the non-contributors *do not* dictate when
*volunteers* fix bugs (or add feature). With that I'm removing myself from this

I noted:
- You have installed LO en-GB
- Opening HELP -> ABOUT LIBREOFFICE shows Locale: en-GB
- en-GB help file was also installed

In that case could you please check the following:
Go to TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> section LANGUAGE SETTINGS -> subsection LANGUAGES.

There I suppose that you have Locale Setting = English (UK).

But what do you have in the line User Interface? Do you maybe have something
else than English (UK)?

Because if you have Local Setting En-GB and the En-GB help file, but in the
User Interface for instance English (USA) then your offline help would not be
opened, but you will be directed to the help website.

Is this maybe the case for you, too?

If you wouldn't have English (UK) in the User Interface, could you please
change it to English (UK) and restart LO and try it again?

2015-11-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Yes, it is all about developer engagement. Unfortunately, many bugs only show
themselves in specific appearance conditions to they don't affect many people.
Only easily reproducible bugs affecting lots of users can be targeted
effectively.

Still, it is important to keep posting bug reports in the hope that they get
sorted. IMO, frustrating bugs that are present across multiple versions of LO
(and perhaps present for years) should be targeted as high priority.

I have had so many clients give up on LO because simple things that are taken
for granted in M$ Office fail to work properly here. Many of these issues are
present even in the so-called "stable" LO releases.

Tables and table borders are one area where the code base needs a complete
overhaul.

OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: andrea.for.li...@gmail.com

The latest release of

http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/italian-dictionary-thesaurus-hyphenation-patterns

was published on 29 September 2015 (version 4.2).

As discussed (Italian) on
http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/it/users/msg02641.html
it doesn't display in the majority of cases; and users see a warning that the
extension did not have recent releases; in other cases they see it listed at
the above URL, but if they try to open the release page for 4.2 they are sent
to 4.1 instead.

In a few cases it is displayed correctly and it can be downloaded correctly, so
this is a site issue.

(Bugzilla asks to use the component "WWW" to file these bugs, but no such
component exists)

yes, I went into Task Manager and made sure that that process

On one of the installs, I did download it twice to make sure,
but I didn't check the CRC. I got it directly from your site each time.

If you have a debug version, that will tell you where it's having an issue
internally, I'd be happy to run it. Or if the info is internally

Created attachment 120369

Odt-document for testing the export - look at the width between text and
bullet.

Open the attached *.odt-file.
Shows a little bit text and the start of a list with a bullet.
Export this with File → Export ... to a xhtml-file.
Open this file with your browser.
The bullet is on the left, directly followed by the text.
Open the *.html-file for editing.
Inside this file is shown "min-width:0,635cm;"
This is a wrong decimal-separator and couldn't work.
Change this to "min-width:0.635cm;" and the list would be shown in a better
way.

Seems this bug appears mostly together with bullets. Have tried to change the
GUI from German to English - no effect. Have tried to change the local schema
to English - no effect.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94556] Table borders do not reflect changes properly - refreshing problem?

2015-11-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon

While bugs like these seem trivial the frustration they cause can be
significant. When I encountered problems with table cell borders yet *again* I
was almost ready to give up on LO.

LO has advanced into such a wonderful, mature application suite yet we are
still plagued by "trivial* bugs that never seem to get fixed. They do affect
usability and to such a degree that it makes the software questionable for
serious office work.

LO should do the simple things well. They're the things everyone expects an
office suite to do and do properly so NO these annoying little bugs are not
trivial. They need to get sorted out once and for all *before* new features are
added.

Graphite layout can always be “upgraded” to the new model, with the old syntax
kept for backward compatibility (or even parsed at document load, but saved in
the new form).

The attached html file has for me a cropped image, but if I save the odt-file
as html and open the html file, then the image is no longer cropped.

Therefore, I mark it as NEW.

Reproducible with LO 5.0.3.2, Win 8.1

Hi @Mark, thanks for reporting.

SUMIF uses regular expression (like extended wildcards), but more powerful.
https://help.libreoffice.org/3.3/Common/List_of_Regular_Expressions

+ is part of them.

Two solutions;

· Disable regular expressions in Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice
calc/Calculation - Regular expression.

· Escaape the plus for search with a backslash \+ if you want to use regex.

One trick, is involve the text to search with SUBSTITUTE function to replace in
the text to search the + with a \+, if you wan to use regex.

If you are not agree or is a different issue, please reopen the bug.

Just got round to checking this on a VMWare Workstation Linux guest
Fedora 22, LXDE with
Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: d1c91627d9c7d117ee2e680f5c24844f7c4d8515-GL
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86@71-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2015-11-06_23:22:44
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

The black blocks of bug 95648 are not present (with or without OpenGL enabled),
but the incorrect composition of justified text for several fonts are (affects
at least Gentium Basic, Linux Bilinum G, and Linux Libertine G).

I guess meaning that is it more than just a Uniscribe handling issue on
Windows.

Setting OS to All, and requesting bibiset.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95659] New: SUMIF does not sum properly if criteria cell contain symbol within text

2015-11-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95659

Bug ID: 95659
Summary: SUMIF does not sum properly if criteria cell contain
symbol within text
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: yoseph2...@yahoo.com

I created a column, filled it with Product Name list, and then tried to use
SUMIF to sum any cell that matched with Product Name.

Some of it didn't work, so I checked the cell Text. If it contains plus sign
(+), it won't work, for example:
*) Video+Power
*) Video + Power

But any other symbol, such as (&) or (-) works. To reproduce:
- Fill A1 with any text containing plus sign(+), such as: Video+Power
- Fill A2 to A3 with any text without any plus sign(+), such as: Video-Power
- Fill B1 to B3 with any number
- Fill C1 with this formula: =SUMIF(A1:A3;A1;B1:B3)

The SUMIF result will be 0. If you use SUMIF without any plus sign(+), it will
return the true result.

Any chance to retrieve an useful backtrace (see

Also, you may give a try to brand new 5.0.3 version.
