[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95759] New: Comment scrollbars sometimes wrong
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95759 Bug ID: 95759 Summary: Comment scrollbars sometimes wrong Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: l...@zeta.org.au Created attachment 120490 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=120490&action=edit zip file with two screen shots It is not unusual for the scrollbars on a long comment to be drawn incorrectly, so that it doesn't match the comment text. Sometimes, IIRC, you can be at the top (or the bottom) of a comment, and the scroll thumb won't be at the matching point in the scrollbar (wrongly indicating that there is more text above or below). I have a screenshot of the opposite error, where the scroll thumb says it *is* at the bottom, but in fact there was more text below. I had to use the arrow key to bring the text into view. I have a screenshot from before and after the arrow use. I had just scrolled the page into view, and noticed the error. I had not been editing the comment or that page. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67364 --- Comment #18 from tommy27 --- another alternative, even better, approach IMHO would be: wildcard .*--.* for "en-dash" and emoji :-: for "em-dash" this way the user just has to type 2 keys for the "en-dash" and 3 keys for the "em-dash" and there will be no conflict between them using current emojis :--: for "en-dash" and :---: for "em-dash" the user has to type respectively 4 and 5 keys -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95669] new AutoCorrect replace rules for two-em dash (U+2E3A) and three-em dash (U+2E3B)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95669 --- Comment #7 from tommy27 --- actually LibO default autocorrect patterns are :--: for "en-dash" and :---: for "em-dash" using the "emoji" feature in which you have to type a ":" before and after your keyword. your "emoji" replacement :: for the "two-em dash" and :--: for the "three-em dash" should work too, but you have to type 6 and 8 keys in order to make them work anyway you can use a different technique as I said in my previous comment using wildcards ".*" before and after your keyword the advantage of wildcards over emoji is that you don't have to type the whole pattern... I mean, if you want the "en-dash" using emoji you have to type :--: (4 keys) while using the wildcard you just type -- (the .*--.* has to be typed only in the replacement table" so using my proposed wildcards .*-2-.* for the "two-em dash" and .*-3-.* for the "three-em dash" would be a typing time saver (just 3 keys) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88585] Feature request: user profile synchronization across multiple LO installs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88585 --- Comment #7 from MBB --- I have done some more research, covering the following topics - Dictionary sync Work-around – Found existing Dictionary in/export – Demand for the sync feature in LO or other FOSS – Third-party sync - Third-party Spell check dictionaries - Conclusion Link to User Profile Wiki: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#User_profile_content Dictionary sync work-around. On AskLibreOffice, a workaround is posted on how to change the storage location of your dictionaries to a synced directory. On the internet, some hack attempts are available on how to use system-links to do the same. As dictionaries are only written away when closing, it may lead to data loss when using two connected LO programs at the same time. Doing this with the entire profile directories does sound like a recipe for disaster. https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/20232/sync-custom-dictionaries-across-many-computers/ Found existing Dictionary in/export I found a macro script by Russ Phillips from 2004 for OO that is still compatible (LO 5.0.1.2), and could be used as example. I think the licence allows for hosting on the plug-in page, and to rework it into a macro. I am not sure if it allows to be used in the main code. It ADDS all words from a text file to a chosen dictionary, and can export (REPLACE) a dictionary to a text file. So it can not be used to sync the removal of words. On import, no double words are added. Words with different capitalisation are added Link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooomacros/files/Import_Export%20Dictionary%20Words/ Added macro and file as attachment. Licence from the file: “Licence Copyright (c) 2004 Russ Phillips Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sub license, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.” Is Syncing a much wanted feature in? Is Syncing a much wanted feature for LibreOffice or other FOSS software? Apparently not. A quick google on"LibreOffice export settings" and "LibreOffice synchronize settings" gives a 200.000 hits, but only 3 or 4 on the first page seem relevant. Similar searches on OpenOffice and Gimp gave even lower hits. A search of "OpenOffice export dictionary" gives 3 pages with more or less relevant hits. A search for ' Sync” on AskLibreOffice gives about 4 tot 5 hits. Third-party sync Reversely; you could try to find a third-party tool that exports LO's settings, and imports them elsewhere. Probably not going to be cross-platform. For Windows you could modify SaveGameBackup, which is under GPL2 http://sourceforge.net/projects/savegamebackup/ (unfortunately it's homepage seems to have closed down in 2012, and you'll need to use the Wayback Machine to read the forums :-( For the end-user this sort of system it would be easy to have just one system (FOSS) program to select all settings of all (FOSS?) programs to sync with only one server. It could have plug ins/scripts for LO, AOO, Firefox, Gimp, Digikam, etc. It would also make them independent from Google, Microsoft and Apple to choose their own sync server. However, it would probably need a lot of continued development to keep it compatible with ALL updates on ALL platforms. So having LO handle it's own import/export/sync is probably more realistic. Third-party spell check dictionaries. Once it works it might be nice to add functionality to synchronize with custom dictionaries from other programs. However this is more difficult as they may need words that are not in that programs normal dictionaries but are in LibreOffice standard dictionaries. Or reverse. For completeness, I have looked up some dictionary locations Firefox: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx.default\persdict.dat (plain text) MS Word: C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\Proof\custom.dic (txt) or \Uproof\custom.dic Opera (old?) profile\dictionaries\en.oow - Do not use notepad (unix/mac End of Line problems) Conclusion Dispite the lack of demand for it so far, it does feel as a feature that will be needed to integrate the desktop versions with the Android and Cloud profiles of users. It could also encourage the exchange of Custom dictionaries for specialized fields. It would also guaranty independence from sharing your sync settings from proprietary vendors as Microsoft and Google from accessing your settings, although settings are not all that secret. The best way still seems to re-use the Mozilla/Firefox sync, as it overlaps with so

Then tried to download an earlier version, even down to version 4.4.6, but it still won’t run now, even though I upgraded from version 5.005. I even used “AppCleaner” to completely uninstall the program, then try to re-install, but it still says it’s trying to run version 5.0.3.0, even after I downloaded and install version 4.4.6. There must be something left behind that I can’t get rid off and makes the system think it still has the latest faulty one. Do I have to go into the library and delete plist files etc.? I have found that not copying the file to 'Applications' but running it straight from the opened dmg file will run the program, however, as soon as I copy it to the Applications folder it fails. I have now deleted again with Appdelete, but this time I have re-started the computer and copied it manually into the Applications folder, rather than use the alias to copy. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95717] DRAW: SVG export does not provide layers
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95717 --- Comment #3 from Regina Henschel --- To me it looks like your request is not about "layers" but about groups. I think, introducing an own namespace should not be done; svg is rich enough to do all needed things in standard svg. Namespace "draw" would be a bad choice anyway, because it can be confused with ODF. Currently neither a page nor a group gets an identifier but only the individual shapes. I would support a request, that svg export should make the name of a group to an id-attribute of the -element in svg. Such could be used in Impress too, where no user layers exists. It would be possible to put the layer into a class attribute, but it does not work well, because a group in Draw can contain shapes from different layers. Therefore the layer-information would only be meaningful for a single shape, but not for a group. Do you agree to take this bug report as request for an id-attribute for the -element, which is generated for a group in Draw? If yes, the subject line should be changed accordingly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

(2010-11) UX was only interested in discussing graphics. UX channel suggested, rather rudely, that changes to the styles interface dialog were a development issue. The main development team, of course, referred me back to UX. That environment was toxic, so I left. I tried broaching the subject with the dev team, again, a year or two later. (I really do think that these features would improve function( They suggested using the bug system for logging the ideas, which lead to this entry. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95746] New: Pasting table causes Libreoffice process going to 100% CPU load
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95746 Bug ID: 95746 Summary: Pasting table causes Libreoffice process going to 100% CPU load Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.3.2 release Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: germano.massu...@gmail.com Created attachment 120481 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=120481&action=edit screenshot 1 How to reproduce: I have two Calc files (let's call them A and B), containing two different tables. You want to erase and replace the content of B with the contents of a selection of A, so: 1) in file B, you click on the little square (see screenshot 1) to select the whole table, then you press delete button on your keyboard; 2) in file A, you select a part of the table, then you copy it; 3) in file B, while you still have the whole table selected, you press CTRL+v on your keyboard to paste the content. You will see Libreoffice hanging and increasing RAM usage while having 100% CPU load. For anybody that is thinking about the amount of copied data, I can say that I experienced the problem with a 11 lines-4 coloumns table. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95171] Grouping frames together and with other drawing elements in Writer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95171 --- Comment #3 from Darius Daniel Grigoras --- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #2) Well, I had to create a diagram or a sort of flowchart with boxes that contained lists. I couldn't use lists in text boxes as in frames. I then wanted to group all the frame boxes, lines and arrows for better manipulation of the whole diagram. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82251] EDITING: Crash Draw upon past of graphic
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82251 --- Comment #9 from Armin Le Grand --- Checked test file from comment 6. Got no crash, but speed is bad. Checked the contents, every rectangle is a CustomShape. This is probably because these get created when the rectangle shape creation gets started from the UI, using the simple RectangleShape would probably make this cheaper. A guess: When starting to drag the object an dthe drag takes longer as the time to start D&D mode (muse cursor changes, no overlay preview) racing conditions may be involved. @Florian: With which test file did you reproduce? Comment 6 or comment 2? Did you try a LO5 version yet? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
