[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98040] New: Comments do not display properly

2016-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98040

Bug ID: 98040
Summary: Comments do not display properly
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rebelxtu...@hotmail.com

Created attachment 122831
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=122831=edit
Comments in Linux Mint 17.3

Comments in LO Calc should be displayed in a box with a solid background. In
Linux Mint 17.3, there is no box, and the background is only under the text.
See the Mint17.jpg attachment. I see the bug in the following versions of LO:

Linux Mint 17.3 (installed):
LibreOffice 3.3.4 OOO330m19 (Build:401)
Version 3.6.7.2 (Build ID: e183d5b)
Version: 5.0.3.2 Build ID: 1:5.0.3~rc2-0ubuntu1~trusty2
Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: bc20c6d0f397c0c1aef6ef7d6f750c2f81af8db6

Linux Mint 17.3 (Live CD on two different computers):
Version: 5.0.3.2 Build ID: 1:5.0.3~rc2-0ubuntu1~trusty2

I see a slightly different appearance in Linux Mint 16. The background is
there, but the box is not. See the Mint16.jpg attachment.

Linux Mint 16 (installed):
Version: 4.1.3.2 Build ID: 410m0(Build:2)

The bug is not seen in the following versions of LO:

Linux Mint 13 (installed):
LibreOffice 3.5.7.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2)
Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 7201fa07dd0352f69fd2b2b64efcb361ccad

Linux Mint 15 (installed):
Version 4.0.2.2 (Build ID: 400m0(Build:2))

Linux Mint 17.3 installed in VirtualBox (Linux Mint 17.3 host):
Version: 5.0.3.2 Build ID: 1:5.0.3~rc2-0ubuntu1~trusty2

Windows 8.1 (installed):
Version: 5.1.0.3 Build ID: 5e3e00a007d9b3b6efb6797a8b8e57b51ab1f73

Occasionally, the first time you mouse-over a comment, the box is displayed,
but the second time it is not. FWIW, if the wallch wallpaper changer is
installed, the box and background will be displayed when the wallpaper is
changed.

I get the same behaviour on both computers running Windows 10 and Linux
(Fedora).

The version of LibreOffice on Windows was either 4.4.x or 4.5.x, when I
discovered the problem for the first time. It was then updated to 5.0.x, but it
didn't solve the issue.

On Linux I have got the same behaviour with LibreOffice 4.3.2 and 5.0.5.2.

I can not confirm that this would have worked correctly on an older version,
but I have neither noticed the problem earlier.

sample

In Impress's slide transition and custom animations sidebar tabs we have preset
values for speed in drop down menus which provides a simple means of setting
the speed, but it makes it impossible for users to set their own custom value
and also makes custom values set in other apps imported in as the value isnt
preserved.

An example of this can be seen in the attached file, which has slide 1 set to a
speed of 4 seconds and Impress resets this to Slow (aka 1 second) and
'Rectangle 3' which has a custom animation speed of 4 seconds appears with a
blank speed value.

So i'd suggest we change this to a combobox where we can include preset values
and also allow the user to set their own value. Alternatively, we can go with
spinbox which advances by 0.25 seconds.

Impress allows a user to select either 'on mouse click' or 'automatically
after' for advancing to the next slide with radio buttons, while Powerpoint
gives users to do either with checkboxes, so if 'on mouse click' is unchecked
then it wont allow a user to left click to switch to the following slide.

Is this a feature that we want to implement and improve compatibility with MS
Office?

Paul: I can confirm what you describe.

Further findings:

Breakpoint at -[SalFrameView keyDown:] (salframeview.mm:958, frame #22 in the
stack trace I posted earlier) is not triggered by Cmd+V, though it is by 'a'.

Breakpoint at -[NSWindow sendEvent:] (frame #23 in the earlier stack trace) is
triggered so frequently that there is no chance to switch to the LO window and
press Cmd+V.

I probably won't be working on this for the next few days. Hope you can find
out more.

MathML that will not import into LibreOffice Math

The MathML in the attached file, mathml.txt, will not import into LibreOffice
Math. The issue is caused by the trailing linefeed. If you remove the linefeed
that follows , it will import if you copy it then use the Import MathML
from Clipboard command. In the event the empty line did not save with the
attached file, then add one yourself, but make sure the empty line is part of
the selection that you copy to the clipboard. It is not just THIS code in the

When selecting text including accented or special characters, Ctrl-B does not
work, nor does the "bold" menu icon.
Italics do work, though.

Workaround : one must select successively each portion of text before the first
accented character, type ctrl-b, select the accented character, type ctrl-b,
select the next non-accented portion, type ctrl-B etc.

(It occurs at least with locale:fr_FR)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97991] Reducing the size of the Windows Installer

(In reply to Yousuf (Jay) Philips from comment #6)
> the windows daily installer on @62 only includes a similar set of
> languages (en-US, de, ar, ja, ru, qtz).

Not sure if “en-US, de, ar, ja, ru, qtz” are a similar set of languages;
however for testing purposes they may give a broad cross-section of use cases.

If effort is going to be expended to create separate downloads, perhaps the
best solution for minimal downloads would be to have:
* a core LibreOffice download (without any language pack); and
* each language as a *separate* download, not grouped at all.

There could be a page on LibreOffice.org to download language packs. It could
look like:
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/?type=win-x86_64=pick
with the title changed from “Please select your language” to “Language packs
for Windows 64 bit”.

Having each language *separate* may make adding extra languages easier as:
* extra languages would not need to find which build of LO it should be added
to;
* if there are similar languages that could be bundled together, but there is a
political situation between the languages, this would be avoided;
* installation files would be the absolute minimum, satisfying bug 97991.
Perhaps it would also reduce the amount of data through a government/enterprise
installation (this could be a lot for installations in the magnitude of 10^4 or
more).

The Mac build has challenges as the Release Notes state, “Mac OS X: Please
start LibreOffice at least once before installing a LangaugePack.”
(https://www.libreoffice.org/download/release-notes/). Perhaps this blocks this
bug.

I thought that the current install is optimal, hence suggested WorksForMe;
however, a core LO installation (without any languages) and separate language
packs for each language would be the best solution for: reducing the download
size, data travelling through a network when installations in the magnitude of
10^4.

+1. "Save as" to figure out the path is a non-obvious workaround. It's what I

It is indeed caused by
Tools - Options - LibO - View - Use OpenGL for all rendering

Clearing this option and restarting caused no problems.
I'll try to attach the screen shot with the OpenGL rendering on.

In addition to the small ticks below each lower case s, notice that the first f
in fancy has a tick in the stem, only showing up when typing the letter a after
it. the second f in font doesn't have that problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98032] New: Only partly high-contrast-mode (accessibility) support

2016-02-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 98032
Summary: Only partly high-contrast-mode (accessibility) support
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: martin.lemb...@gmx.net

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36
(KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/48.0.2564.109 Safari/537.36
Build Identifier: LibreOffice 5.1.0.3

I use due to eye disabilities the high-contrast-mode of Windows 7 Pro 64bit and
have chosen the high-contrast-#1 theme.
The Writer still needs a change of the configuration to be fully
high-contrast-mode compliant by changing the colors of the page, the
application background and other colors, now after switching to a black
background are incompatible in their contrast.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switch to high-contrast-mode or choose the a black high-contrast theme -
e.g. high-contrast-#1
2. Start the writer
Actual Results:
The UI is in high-contrast-mode - black background, yellow text, white borders
and lines.
The page area is still white, the text black and the non-page area is light
gray.

Expected Results:
I expect the (none-)page area to be black, the text to be yellow, page borders
to be white (with high-contrast-#1 theme).

Locale: de
Module: TextDocument
OS: Windows 7 Professional
OS is 64bit: yes

Also the styles do not completely preview (not sure if they ever did). For

Lastly, this toolbar should probably have the option to inherit the document's

Backtrace from keycod.cxx after pressing a in Find box

I've been looking into this a bit as well, after being notified about it by
Cor. For hardware reasons, I'm using Mac OS X 10.7 and LO 4.3, but I can
reproduce the issue.

I tried some of Jan's suggestions (comment 127):

- I tried some changes on vclnsapp.mm. Commenting out the "&& [pKeyWin
isKindOfClass: [SalFramWindow class]]" does not change the behavior for me, nor
does commenting out the first pKeyWin section, or even the entire pKeyWin
section. I reverted those changes for now.

- I did a stack backtrace on keycod.cxx, vcl::KeyCode::GetFunction(). Indeed
the breakpoint does not get hit when pressing Cmd+V, but it does when pressing
'a'. The steps I took and the output are in the attached file.

Is anyone else working on this issue now? Paul? Otherwise, I'll just continue
with Jan's suggestion to look up the stack, etc.

directory profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) and
give it a new try? Thank you

Wolfgang, I tried your new testcase with LibreOffice 5.0 (don't know the exact
version), but unfortunately it didn't work. Then I updated to LibreOffice
5.1.0.3 and now I can confirm your workaround. This will probably help me,
thanks a lot.

I just found this:
http://www.csidata.com/custserv/onlinehelp/vbsdocs/vbs79.htm

Which claims to be from Microsoft for Visual Basic. It says:

"Use the CInt function to provide internationally aware conversions from any
other data type to an Integer subtype. For example, different decimal
separators are properly recognized depending on the locale setting of your
system, as are different thousand separators."

It sounds like previously it remembered the "root" position in your file
system, so it showed you all you drives. Now it has remembered some folder and
is displaying it to you by default.
I don't understand, why you are not seeing the drives in the left sidebar of
the save dialog in Windows.

Could you attach a screenshot of how it looks like? Maybe redact any filenames
etc. you don't want public using Paint, GIMP or whatever. Take screenshot with
Alt-PrtScr and paste to an image editor.

In any case, this doesn't sound like a problem with LibreOffice, but I can try
and help you.

even CTRL+shift+F9 doesn't help. When rewrite the formula by drag formula from
A8, then it works. When I delete formula and write formula again, the result is
bad.

Raise importance, because SUM is basic function.

LibreOffice/5.1.0.3$Windows_x86

works correct in Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha1+, regression.

Cool! Setting to WFM, then.

Btw. here you can see, how the parallel install could be done step by step in
Windows: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Windows

Perhaps the most important bit on keeping things separate is this:

Use a file manager to find the file "bootstrap.ini" in "..\\program"
and if necessary edit the row

from original "UserInstallation=$SYSUSERCONFIG/LibreOffice/4"
to the new: "UserInstallation=$ORIGIN/../Data/settings"

You can double-check that the bootstrap.ini has that $ORIGIN setting after
installing with SI-GUI, if you want to be sure.
