Would be good to have this option, so a user doesnt need to go into the
Spelling dialog in order to get to the next error.

Apple's HIG has this assigned to Cmd + Semicolon (Calc uses this key for
inserting the current date), MS Word has it assigned to Alt + F7, and Google
Docs has it as Ctrl + Comma.

As we already use F7 and Shift + F7 for spellcheck related functions, Alt + F7
seems like the best choice for Windows, but it wont work on Linux (Gnome) as
Alt + F7 is for moving the current window. Ctrl + Alt + F7 is also reserved on
Linux, so Ctrl + Shift + F7 is likely the only other choice.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98440] New: Copy and Paste of table rows un-does merging

2016-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98440

Bug ID: 98440
Summary: Copy and Paste of table rows un-does merging
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

If a row is copied and pasted onto another row in a Table, the text and
formatting is copied as expected.

However merged cells are un-merged, so the text ends up in the wrong columns,
and some text is duplicated.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Start Writer, insert a table with (say) 5 rows and 5 columns
2. Select two adjacent cells in a row, click the "Merge" icon (or
Table->Merge).\

Insert unique text into every visible cell in the row

3. Select all cells in the row. Control-C to copy
4. Select all cells in another row. Control-P to paste

RESULTS: The merged-ness of the copied cells is lost, and text is pasted into
the wrong cells. Text in the first column is duplicated in the last column

EXPECTED RESULTS: The pasted-onto row should look exactly like the source row.

1. Help->Index
2. Search for "tables"
3. Click on "adapting the width by keyboard"

That help page says:

To set the Behavior of rows/columns options for tables in text documents,
choose Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer - Table, or use the Fixed,
Fixed/Proportional, and Variable icons on the Table Bar.

Those options may be set under Tools->Options etc.

However the "Table Bar", which presumably means the Table Toolbar,
does not seem to have any such option.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Start LO writer
2. View->Toolbars->Table (checked)
3. Mouse over all the icons which appear, and view the textual descriptions in
the ">>" menu of items which are not visible.

RESULTS: No "Fixed", "Fixed/Proportional" or "Variable" icons are to be found,
or anything that I can find which relates to column-width adjustment.

EXPECTED RESULTS: The icons described in the Help text are present

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98421] PDFIMPORT Images are imported rotated and mirrored

2016-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98421

@Mike,

So at home on a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US system with
Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: fee4fe8e589e101140d9b318ac757825bf836506
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: GL;
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2016-03-04_03:16:28
Locale: en-US (en_US)

Opening to Draw on this system is correct. So, I remoted back to my other
system at work and checked again there, and it is correct. I think I must have
screwed up and opened OPs 5.1.0.3 generated .ODG in Draw, rather than the PDF.

Checked on both, and the PDF import into Impress is also correct with 5.1.1.3
and 5.2.0alppha1+

However--on both systems, when PDF is imported into Writer with 5.1.1 or
master, that filter still does have the import filter issue.

STR

1. set LibreOffice to use LibreOffice dialogs
2. open file dialog
3. select the test PDF
4. set File type dropdown to "PDF - Portable Document Format (Writer) (*.pdf)
5. open

result: the Test image is rotated 180 and reversed, still emulating the
vertical flip issue.

So, I think I was wrong--the default Open into Draw *IS* corrected for 5.1.1
and master. As is the import into Impress. Just the import into Writer filter
still needs a tweak. I am sorry.

Anyway, depending on you be authenticated or not, to Remote Service, I think U.
I. Consistence did must prevent "New Folder" action, say, let control disabled
until you, consistently can grab some place to save remotely your data.

How to reproduce it:
Open a new Writer page. Write some random text.
Point to Save Icon and click it Combo Box, selecting "Save Remote File"; at
this point, you can go to "New Folder Icon". It is enabled, already. It is not
clearly if it is a new local folder, but, by context, regards new remote
folder. Select icon. Name something. Confirm. Crash.
Screen to recover work appears.
Tested at work (Kubuntu 15.10, x64) and home (Fedora 23, x64) several times.

Sorry, this is by design. The Text and Text Formatting toolbars are no longer
active by default, they can be activated from the View -> Toolbars menu.

You have several options:

1. If you find it distracting, the toolbar should be disabled by unselecting it
from View -> Toolbars -> Text Formatting, all formatting defaults available on
it are available from the Sidebar -> Properties and Paragraph content panels.

2. If you prefer the toolbar, or need its additional customization over the
Sidebar deck--when set visible you can undock the toolbar. It will float over
the Impress slide canvas. And can be dragged into a multi row arrangement.

3. Finally you can dock the Text Formatting toolbar to another location: Right
of Sidebar, Left of Slide sorter, bottom, or any position horizontal under the
main menu.

my command is (one line) ...

Program presents window "biblio.odb - LibreOfficeDev Base 5.2 ...".

(2) Click . Program presents

(3) Type SQL statement ...

Expected : error message because there is no such column as "asdf".
Observed : Data pane shows empty column headed "asdf".

For comparison, an embedded Firebird database does correctly reject a
comparable query.

Note that the problem is not visible in daily Linux dbgutil bibisect
versions 2016-02-27 through 2016-03-02 because of tdf#98361 "Selection

The problem is already present in 43max bibisect repository, version

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98333] Bringing uniformity to styles shortcuts

2016-03-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98333

(In reply to Niklas Johansson from comment #8)
> If LibreOffice isn't going to keep the F11 shortcut for the Styles and
> Formatting dialog why not move towards the mac shortcut Command+T (Ctrl+T on
> Windows/Linux) which is already used in the mac version.

Apple's HIG has Cmd+T mapped to "Display the Fonts window (equivalent to Format
> Font > Show Fonts)" which is equivalent to our Format > Character and was
wrongly assigned to Styles & Formatting, as clearly can be seen in the below
window.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oartY48Q_g

> And as far as I can see isn't used by any LibreOffice application?
> That way we also get consistency between operating systems.

That is presently true, but with the future switch of Cmd+T off of Styles &
Formatting on Mac, we have lost consistency again.

> Ctrl+Shift+T seems to be used by Calc and Writer but otherwise I didn't see
> any uses of the variants of +T.

Ctrl+Alt+T is reserved on Linux.

> And just for reference the normal keyboard shortcut for full screen on mac
> seems to be Command+Control+F, and F11 shows the desktop.

Yes it is mentioned in the HIG, that is why its in my first patch to fix mac
shortcuts. Do you happen to be a mac user Niklas?

I'm hoping that we'll have over 30 templates and if each of them we averaging 2
master slides, that would be 60. At my screen resolution (1600x900), 24
thumbnails could likely appear without a scroll bar, which would been i'd be
scrolling for hours. :D

> > If the user likes the first master slide, he

That is how we pick templates from the template manager. We see just the first
slide.

Yes it would have the same behaviour as now, but would simply import the other
ones as well.

Bug ID: 98434
Summary: Text Formatting ToolBar - Disappears
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:38.0)
Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0
Build Identifier: LibreOffice 5.1.0.3

The text formatting tool bar was told to display in Impress. It appears and
disappears now, causing the window to jump vertically as the tool bar appears
and disappears when an object's text is editted. This behaviour is very
disturbing when editting a slide as I have to refocus my eyes on the new
location of the data.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select View / ToolBars / Text Formatting
2. Tool Bar appears
3. Select an object on the slide whose text you wish to edit
4. Edit the Text
5. Deselect the item for editting.
6. The toolbar disappears
7. the slide jumps
Actual Results:
The slide jumps up and down as the tool bar appears and disappears

Expected Results:
The tool bar should remain present 100% of the time, and should gray out when
not needed.

"Available for Use" remains blank showing only "Preparing Preview". So the user
never knows what Master Slides are actually available. It's a serious problem
and has been referenced many times but remains unfixed and renders Impress too
much of a problem to use - hard to recommend it. None of solutions that have
been suggested work for me.

Example without missing zeros

The attached example shows, that somewhere width and height are exchanged.
Currently the stroke-width changes, when scaled in x-direction; and the
stroke-width does not change, when scaled in y-direction.

This is an error independent from zero values and should become its own issue.

The rendering is correct in AOO.

I have a similar problem. If base is running when video changes, soffice.exe
hangs waiting on its own child. If base is not running, but calc and writer
are running, they survive the video change.

Video changes include: connecting or disconnecting second display, and
sleep-wake. Sometimes, it survives sleep-wake.

Windows 8.1 on AMD-64 using 32- and 64-bit LibreOffice. Many versions, up to
5.1.0.3. I do not remember when this started, but it has probably been at

There three different cases I am aware of where this problem appears:

There may be others I am not aware of.

OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Reporter: oldironsides1...@hotmail.com

(I am writing in CAPS because someone suggested it in another post. I am not
using CAPS to indicate yelling or frustration.)
(The closest existing Post I found is 94187. It may or may not be helpful to
reference.)

I HAVE BEEN USING CALC SPREADSHEETS TO TRACK DATED INFORMATION. NORMALLY THE
DATE FORMATS CORRECTLY WHEN THE CELL IS FORMATTED AS "Date". BUT I ENCOUNTERED
A SPECIAL CASE WHICH DOES NOT. I DO NOT REMEMBER THIS OCCURRING BEFORE SO IT
MAY COINCIDE WITH A RECENT UPDATE.

IF I ENTER THE DATE 3/4/2016 IT SHOWS UP AS 3/4 2016. THE "3/4" APPEARS AS A
SMALL FRACTION LEADING THE YEAR. IF I TYPE THE DATE EXPLICITLY AS "March 4,
2016" IT DISPLAYS CORRECTLY AS 3/4/2016.

HOWEVER, THE ISSUE DOES NOT APPEAR WHEN I ENTER DATES BEGINNING WITH 3/5, 3/6,
3/7, OR 3/8

ALSO THE ISSUE APPEARS WITH 1/2/2016 APPEARING AS 1/2 2016. THE "1/2" APPEARS
AS A FRACTION LEADING THE YEAR RATHER THAN A DATE.

HOWEVER, THE ISSUE DOES NOT APPEAR WHEN I ENTER DATES BEGINNING WITH 1/3, 1/5,
1/6, 1/7, OR 1/8.

THERE IS A FEATURE IN LibreOffice Writer THAT AUTOFORMATS SMALL FRACTIONS LIKE
"1/2" AND "1/4". SO, I EXPECT THIS BUG PERTAINS TO A SIMILAR FEATURE IN
LibreOffice CALC. HOWEVER, THIS SPECIAL FORMATTING IS APPEARING WHEN IT SHOULD
NOT. A CELL FORMATTED FOR DATES SHOULD NEVER AUTOFORMAT TO FRACTIONS.

Calc Version: 4.2.8.2
Build ID: 420m0(Build:2)
OS: Ubuntu 14.04
Platform: x86

It is possible to work around this bug but it is annoying and can decrease
productivity. I would be glad to have it fixed. Thank you for your assistance.

Also, I don't have the most recent beta version of the software installed. So,
please don't expect me to test for the problem on the most recent beta version.

It would flood the list and with our intent to include many more templates, it
would be a very bad UX. If the user likes the first master slide, he clicks on
it, and all them will appear in the 'Used in This This Presentation' section,
so they can easily change to the others.

Bug ID: 98428
Summary: EDITING: bad footer in table view
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: wthoony...@yahoo.com

In 5.1 base, table view opens without the footer that has record number and
forward, backward, new buttons. Instead, the beginning of the expected word,
Record, is on the left, approximately the width of the record number column in
the table. Then, a white and a grey section overwriting what should be in the
footer. When the cursor is dragged through that area, it acts as the table
header does; the column resize double arrow cursor appears at the boundaries
between columns.

After resize of the window, the footer is shown correctly.

When record search is opened, the footer is overwritten again.

No versions before 5.1 had this problem. 5.0.5 did not do this.

I reported a very similar bug yesterday as well in bug 98416. I got an email
from google stating a successful login, but the error stopped me from going
further. I thought it could be a 64-bit issue only, but same with 32-bit.
Thought it could be a profile issue, but clearing the profile didnt solve it
either. In order to fix this, a dev would need to look at why this is
happening.

The filter import of the PDF to Draw looks to be performing a vertical flip of
the embedded PNG. And, same errant filter action on import to Writer.

@Mike K., Armin, wasn't something more needed for the work on bug 96993, is the
vertical mirror somehow still needed?

Bug ID: 98425
   Summary: assertion, GtkYieldMutex::ThreadsLeave,

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

gdb on the core file

STR
(1) Run LibreOffice naming the bibliography database on the command
line. My command line, in checkout from the daily Linux dbgutil
repository, was (all on one line) ...
opt/program/soffice
--norestore --nologo
-env:UserInstallation=file:///tmp/user_20160304
opt/presets/database/biblio.odb

The program presents window "biblio.odb - LibreOfficeDev Base 5.2 ...".

(2) Take menu options Edit > Database > Properties... . The program
displays dialog "Database Properties", tab "Advanced Properties".

(3) Drag the mouse through Path to the dBASE files. For me, the
program highlighted "/tmp/user_20160304/user/database/biblio".

(4) Type "+C".
Expected : The path will be copied to the clipboard.
Observed : Assertion.

The attached gdb output is from commit 9582fd9, fetched 2016-03-01
16:30 UTC, lightly hacked, configured ...

CC=ccache /usr/bin/gcc
CXX=ccache /usr/bin/g++

built and running on debian-stretch Xfce desktop. The assertion also
happens with GNOME Classic desktop.

In frame #18 mnCount is 1.  Why did `assert(mnCount != 0);` fail?

With MS Office's ribbon/tabbed UI, it is important to have easy access to the
text formatting tools when you could be on a different tab of the ribbon and
would always have to switch back to the Home tab to get that access. This
doesnt happen in LibreOffice because the formatting toolbars never hide in the
toolbar or the sidebar.

Yes, X11-specific (in terms of LibreOffice platforms, Linux-specific) is very
probable :) Should have put it immediately.

The question is: does it happen for more users, or is it somehow specific to my
