[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98456] New: Confusing effects from write-protected field
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98456 Bug ID: 98456 Summary: Confusing effects from write-protected field Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.1.0.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: l...@zeta.org.au I wished to do some work on a few chapters of my book, and wanted to use a paragraph style available in the main document. So I Saved a Copy of the main document to a new file, then opened the new file and tried to delete all the unwanted chapters before the chapters of interest, by selecting from there to the start of the document and hitting Delete. Instead of the expected deletion, I got the error message "write-protected content cannot be changed". It took some time to determine that this was because near the beginning of my book I have a write-protected table of contents. That this element prevented the deletion of everything else in the selection seems very counter-intuitive to me. Also, as I understand it, the write-protection option on the ToC is to prevent you editing the contents of the ToC. But the expectations, when selecting the entire table (and more besides) is clearly not /editing/ the table but deleting it. And since it /is/ possible to delete the Toc by clicking on it and choosing "Delete", clearly deletion is allowed. But let's ignore that possibility for the sake of simplicity. The situation would not have been so confusing if the error message had been more specific, and stated "The selection includes a write-protected element and therefore cannot be changed", at a minimum. Slightly better still would be "The write-protected element on page prevents changing the selection which includes it". Personally, I think the user intention is perfectly clear when a write-protected element is included in a larger selection: at a minimum, the user would expect everything except the write-protected element(s) to be changed as per the operation they then performed - leaving the write-protected elements unchanged. But please at least change the error message so that it is clearer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98453] New: EDITING: Draw units incosistency
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98453 Bug ID: 98453 Summary: EDITING: Draw units incosistency Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: riggra...@gmail.com Description In Draw, when opening a drawing that was created in different units of measurement that the ones defined in Options Draw General, displays and perform with that units and not the ones defined originally in the drawing. Expected behavior: Draw should adjust the displaying and work of the units for that file in that instance of the program. Steps to reproduce Create a new drawing Select Options Draw General Set Units of measure to meters 1:100 and save it Draw a square (say 10 m by 10 m) draw a dimension line that it will measure meters Save the file to testmeters.odg and close Create a new drawing Select Options Draw General Set Units of measure to inches 1:1 and save it Close the file without saving Open the Testmeters.odg from the open file icon or directly by double clicking in it select the square Look in the sidebar for the position and size properties of the figure The values are in inches but the dimension line is in meters and the drawing originally was created in meters. Notice in the status bar that the dimension of the figure is in inches The dimension lines displays the measures in meters but, if selected, the units in the sidebar and in the status bar are in inches. Right click in the rulers and display measures of meters which is OK Selecting the figure and using the context menu options with right click, displays the width and height in inches also. Trying to change the dimensions to 9 m by 9 m in that window or in the sidebar, typing the number and the “m” symbol of meters will result in automatic inches conversion. Trying to change the units in Tools Options Draw General, display already the meter units, but if select the OK button to update, the units in the drawing won’t change. As a workaround, to display and work correctly, it is necessary to close the file, create a new drawing file, change the units, in this case to meters, close without saving and then open the file to display correctly and be able to work on it. The trouble is when working in two different drawings with different units. If the units are set to centimeters and open a drawing in meters and another drawing in inches, the two of them displays values in centimeters. Even more, looking in Tools Options Draw General, for each file, displays the units correctly as they were set. I choose run programm ("Programm ausführen" from the drop-down, and selected a .BAT file (namely 1.bat). This works fine when I run the presentation, also after saving the presentation. When I close impress and open this presentation again, the group keeps run programm ("Programm ausführen") but there is no file saved to go along with it, it did forget the 1.bat. I need this function because I want to call VLC to open specific video files with subtitles (in an extra file), play it on fullscreen once and close again. I tried several things with it and found also, that the run programm option ("Programm ausführen") can not handle spaces or German umlaute (äüö) in folder names. I would lave to have something like a full commandline available, which could handle "C:\stuff\vlc.exe -f --play-and-exit C:\other-stuff\peng.avi" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

On Linux, i've tested other apps and none of their shortcuts work when the menu is open, so that is likely a Linux OS-level issue. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98046] OpenGL transitions mostly broken on intel (Sandybridge) graphics
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98046 --- Comment #13 from Roland Taylor --- With just the CPU, using some transitions (such as Rochade) causes Kwin to crash or the graphics chip to reset. The Glitter transition still works, as well as newsflash (strangely). The other animations (such as turn around and venetian blinds) either flicker badly and chop the animation up, or cause kwin to crash. Interestingly, Honeycomb works as a simple sliding animation. With hardware acceleration enabled, most of the effects work but flicker. Rochade causes a graphics reset. Glitter works as usual (under all circumstances). With opengl enabled for all rendering there is no change. Look - I don't know what more information I can provide, and I don't know what to do. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98445 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- Comment #3 from V Stuart Foote --- Hmm, sounds more like a file association issue following installation. Do these steps to reestablish LibreOffice file association clear things for you? 1. open Windows Explorer 2. locate and *.doc file 3. right mouse to open context menu 4. Open with -> Choose another app 5. scroll in "Other Options" and select LibreOffice Writer (open "more apps" if LibreOffice Writer is not listed) 6. check the "Always use this app" box 7. OK out of the dialog Labels will differ by localization, and with Widnows OS version. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
