> Lionel: any thoughts?

Adding "UseKeywordAsBeforeAlias" to hsqldb's Drivers.xcu (in the properties
section) should work, yes. Technically, as both work, it does not matter. From
a human POV I prefer seeing the "AS", too. You can add it.

If we do that, design view will add "AS" if it is not there, but I guess that
is not a problem.

Adding GenerateASBeforeCorrelationName in HDriver.cxx should not be necessary.

Racks is a table with many blank values
=SUMIF(RowNbr, "11", Racks) does not work.
It returns only the first value found
Does not matter if on the same sheet or another sheet
Does not work with =SUMIF(N4:N145, "11", O4:AA145) either

Does not matter if criteria is enclosed in quotes or not

=COUNTIF(RowNbr,11) returns 4, the correct value

=SUMIF(RowNbr, "11", RowNbr) works and returns 44

=SUM(Racks) returns 272 which is the correct value

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pathe...@monumentmail.com

LibreOffice has got to be one of the worst performing pieces of open source
software I have encountered. For being under development for so long a time,
one should expect and demand better performance from such a piece of software.
This is pathetic. Opening a large file on an overclocked Core i7-5930K should
have absolutely ZERO performance issues, and yet LibreOffice takes relatively
FOREVER to open a large file.

As stated before, LibreOffice has *always* suffered these disgusting
performance issues and until they are resolved, it will never be considered a
viable alternative to a Microsoft Office installed on a Windows OS running as a
virtual machine. Yes, such an installation still runs amazing faster than
LibreOffice running natively on Linux. Sad.

Suffering same problem with LO 5.1.3 on Linux Lite 2.8 (ubuntu derivative) x64,
system fully updated.

Any file of any larger size will freeze on normal operations such as
find/replace all paragraph endings. CPU typically goes to 49%, which doesn't
sound too bad, but the program freezes. This is happening on a simple .odt file
of 1.7MB size.

Have had this problem since Day One on this system, using several versions of
LO.

Machine is 2.7 GHz Core2Duo with 4gb ram and an SSD. Should not be a problem.

The 1cm - 37.795275714 would be for a nominal 96 ppi resolution. I think we use
both 90ppi and 96ppi.

For SVG filters Xisco has implemented a 96 ppi for CSS standard (see bug
97275), so working against a nominal 96ppi (in line with CSS) might be a
reasonable metric to describe a canvas--not sure how much work that might be.

Many thanks for your work, Matt. I may have a go at it if I get time, but don't
let me stop you or anyone else who gets there first.

There are actually three distinct use cases...

(1) open csv from outside LibreOffice (e.g. from Windows Explorer)
(2) open csv from Calc window with no spreadsheet loaded (loads in same window)
(3) open csv from Calc window with spreadsheet loaded (loads in new window)

...possibly more, but those are what I have spotted. Please Matt or anyone
comment if you think of more.

Preliminary thought is that the dialog only really needs to be modal in case
(2).

I'll mull it some more if I actually make a start on it.

No problem. I'm not a huge fan of the changes either but I'm not the one doing
the work and we have a "doers decide" policy which I entirely support :) After
using them for a month or so I'm slowly adjusting. If you're not able to locate
other menu options I'd suggest asking on the user mailing list (dozens have
changed).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98871] New: The "Freeze" option on the Window Menu disappeared

2016-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98871

Bug ID: 98871
Summary: The "Freeze" option on the Window Menu disappeared
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rainbow...@mindspring.com

I updated from LibreOffice 5.0.5.2 to 5.1.1.3 and when I open a CSV file in the
Calc program, I no longer have the "Freeze" option on the Window menu. The
only options I have now on the Window Menu are New Window and Close Window.

I uninstalled the latest version and reinstalled the older version, and that
Freeze option is now gone from the older version as well. So, I'm guessing it
messed up something in the registry or some options file that I can't find.

I only use LibreOffice for a few things so have not customized or otherwise
changed any of the standard options. Last week, I had the Freeze option. Now,
it is completely gone.

I have searched and searched to see if I could find anything about this and
could not. My computer is Windows 7 Pro with 16 gb memory.

Thanks for any help.

not sure what is going on there, but adding some ref-counting seems to fix it

probably before 34700400247e378e074ce4164ab2809edb092201 it was not crashing

Robinson: Sorry, but I don't know how to get in touch with Tommy. I am running
the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1. I am currently using Libre
Office Version: 5.0.4.2 Build ID: 2b9802c1994aa0b7dc6079e128979269cf95bc78 and
the document still opens as blank. On my laptop, which runs Ubuntu 15.10 and
Libre Office Version: 5.0.5.2 Build ID: 1:5.0.5~rc2-0ubuntu2, the document
opens with bold, italic text, which is not the text it was saved with.

I hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you need anything else.

Thanks.

2016-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96753

Hold that pose, guys!

The 5.1.2RC1 (5.1.2.1.0) I've built from RC source with the same set of
configuration options on the same system. The new build:

1) has NO issue with gtk VCL plugin

2) additionally, definitely feels 'snappish' w/r to the response time; very
pleasant improvement!

NB I'm building with gtk3 disabled, so maybe all's not all that well with gtk
plugin, but I'm completely satisfied with the resolution already. If gtk3 test
is needed anyway on my side, specifically, do tell.

My heartfelt thanks to all concerned and involved. :) Just don't let this
happen again, please. :))

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98869] New: We only support a subset of Pict/PCT files - worth keeping?

2016-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98869

Bug ID: 98869
Summary: We only support a subset of Pict/PCT files - worth
keeping?
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: filters and storage
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gquigs+b...@gmail.com

Based on the inconsistent file format, we can't import many of the pict files
I've found. I think this makes it not worth having pict support in LibreOffice
as odds are you'll be able to open maybe half of the pictures your run into.

http://www.fileformat.info/format/macpict/sample/index.htm Only Marbles can be
opened. The others can't.

http://cd.textfiles.com/cdreview/cdreview66/PCT01_01/PC0101P- Can't open with
or without our ipict filter (tested 10 at random)

http://cd.textfiles.com/fantaziasampler/CLIPART/PCT/ We can open these (tested
5 at random)

Testing was done on LO5.1 build in 16.04.

Also nice blurb "Though it is a vector format, it is often used as if it were a
raster format. Many files contain just a single bitmap image.
PICT format is complicated and quirky. Although plenty of documentation about
it exists, there does not appear to be any single source that provides a
reasonably clear and complete specification."
- Found Pict/pct files (above blurb) from
http://fileformats.archiveteam.org/wiki/PICT

That backtrace is completely useless. That is the place that actually catches
the exception and not the one that throws the exception.

The best way would be to start it in Visual Studio and break on thrown
std::bad_alloc exceptions.

They do a detailed explanation what you are doing. Explain it to me like I
would be an idiot. Keep in mind that I'm a developer so I might always miss
something completely trivial. The first thing that comes to my mind are the csv
import settings.

I was unable to install the font - copying to the folder also had no effect.
The incorrect characters after scissors are in Wingdings font, when I open the
file in LibO. No need to export to PDF.

I tried to bibisect, but I was unable to find a bibisect repository containing
the needed builds. In 5.0 alpha0, the problem is not yet present and the text
is in Simsun font.

Don't see it that way at all. The OP refs MLA & Chicago--both well established
"Citation styles" and the underlaying reference system handling of the both the
reference style and the document layout (yes by tmeplate) to support them.

As in 2nd item from the OP in Bastián's bug 94418 enhancement which is for much
more than bibliography "-Allow cited in the text and create lists of
references, supporting the known/used styles"

The key is "known/used styles".

Thing is there are literally 7,500 unique "citation styles"--the days of the
big 4 (APA, Chicago/Turabian, Harvard, & MLA) are long gone.

So, rather than trying to host them ourselves, where we'd have a paltry few
templates of questionable validity, to my mind key is implementing support for
Citation Styles Language (CSL -- http://citationstyles.org/ ), and extracting
styles needed for correct document formatting according to the "style".

Related and much less appealing, but needed for interoperability, develop
filter parsing support for Thompson Reuters Endnote (.ens/.enf/.enz)
proprietary formats.

That is exactly what has been requested here-- and that is already provided to
LibreOffice via extension (Zotero). We just need to do a better job of
extracting the citation styles and the document formatting needed to support
it. Implementation details are on the CSL site.

This isn't a valid report. You need to clearly explain the problem in comments
(not long paragraphs but tell us what the issue is). From the title of the bug
I suspect it's a WONTFIX anyways but it's not clear what you're asking for.
Moving to INVALID.

Bug #94418 is about the bibliography. This one here requests a kind of
formatting wizard to adjust all paragraph/character styles according a
predefined layout.

It could also be solved with a good template (my preferred solution). In this
case it is NOTABUG. But hosting templates like this on the LibO site and making
it available per Templates Manager would be a great enhancement.

--- Comment #2 from Armin Le Grand (CIB) ---
Conversion of svg:x2 and svg:y2 in Converter::convertMeasure is correct during
import from SdXMLConnectorShapeContext::processAttribute, but the svg:d seems
to make trouble - if removing it, it looks good.
Not sure how the file *should* look like. A screenshot would have been nice.
This way, just to see how it should look like, I have to install Calligra...

LibreOffice 3.3 - 5.2

Confirmed. This has been a problem since the fork so I'm updating version
field.

Updating to:
Major - loss of major functionality with this kind of interoperability, table
is entirely empty.
Low - default for major bugs is high but see explanation below

Given how long this has been present and that we apparently don't have
duplicate bugs, I suspect not a lot of people are affected...currently we have
one test document that is showing a problem. If we had repro steps from
scratch, maybe we could raise it to medium.

According to what's written and tested, I change the title to "FILEOPEN: ODS
with large chart out of memory 'Bad Allocation' on 32-bit LO since LO 4.0".
It worked before 4.0, so looks like a regression. Now, it works on 64-bit LO
only. Tested in Windows.
Opening in Linux with 32-bit LO was very slow, but it did open.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98125] fileopen: Seem to work flawlessly. At some point it will freeze when opening a non recent file

2016-03-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98125

I upgraded LibreOffive in the mean while. Currently with
Version: 5.1.1.3
Build ID: 89f508ef3ecebd2cfb8e1def0f0ba9a803b88a6d
CPU Threads: 1; OS Version: Windows 5.1; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US)
Problem is still here.

Another note is that I was trying to minimize LibreOffice, or asked it to
appear over the browser, and other windows I used in the mean while. It didn't
show itself, as it was hang.

Nothing close to success as far as I can tell. I see some UI changes where
open remotely is a separate menu item rather than part of LibreOffice version
of Load/Save.

The way this works for other products, the initial credential box will need to
respond to the userid (form of text@domain such as u...@university.edu) and
then opens up a web session where things proxy to the adfs server for true
credential entry / validation yielding a ticket that is used for access by the
original application.

--- Comment #6 from Oliver Specht (CIB) ---
Undo/Redo in comments seems to work until the comment itself is removed

This works:
- change text in a comment
- undo to the beginning of the change and redo
  -> works

This fails:
-insert a comment, insert text into the comment
-undo all and redo
-> you get an empty comment

This fails - a bit simpler as in the initial description
-copy some text with an attached comment and paste it
-change something in the comment
-undo and redo
-> the comment appears as pasted, subsequent changes are gone
