i don't know why this is not installed by default?

Confirming on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US with

The slide in presentation mode for a single monitor system renders with a 1px
white band on the right edge and the bottom edge. 

The band is not present in presentation mode on a multiple monitor session.

Disabling OpenGL rendering does not affect the presence of the band. It is
present on single monitor presentation mode.

This is a FILEOPEN bug. That means you either
1) Need a copy of Excel to open attachment 123098 and compare OR
2) Compare the EXCEL image in attachment 123142 with attachment 123098 

You cannot easily verify this bug with only LibreOffice. There may also be a
FILESAVE issue, but that is not what this bug report is about. 

You do NOT need to 

> delete the extra labels in and save to XLSX & reload

I am not asking for a workaround. I am reporting a bug with the XLSX importer.
To verify, you only need to open the XLSX file (attachment 123098) and compare
it to how Excel renders the file.

I can confirm the same bug on Xubuntu Xenial System 64 bit. I do not know if
this is a bug in LO or a configuration issue. New to LO and the documentation

The file I sent you was from the desktop PC picture, the only thing I did was
change the theme for the laptop picture in Impress, to see if there would be
any change on a different computer, but it still shows the white line as I
expected.

Hi Raal, You are correct I missed that it had defaulted in this case to line=3
When I did it a second time the line was line=1 and when restarted, scalc.exe
the line was persistent at line=1 now. Not sure why it went to line=3

Now I that I'm paying attention not to overlook that feature, it's working as

you can't have an 'array' for the range where the criteria is applied and a
'matrix' for the range with the sum values.
Both ranges must have the same dimensions!

For your purpose you need a matrix function (ctrl+shift+enter)
=SUM(IF(RowNbr=R4; Racks) )
or
=SUM(IF($C$4:$C$145=R4;$D$4:$P$145))
apply with ctrl+shift+enter

After adding a new SSH connection there is no feedback provided - there is no
authentication error etc.  Nothing appears to happen other than the new SSH
connection is added and can be seen in the "Service" list pull-down.

Using the "Edit service" pull-down option on the "Add service" button displays
the "File Services" dialog, but after entering the same username used when
creating the new service the "OK" button is still greyed out.

The SSH server is provided by the OpenSSH Server running under Ubuntu 14.04
Server.

In LibreOffice Impress there is a white line on the right  and bottom when I go
into slide mode on windows, but does not happen when I try it on Linux.

LibreOffice Version : 5.1.1.3 also tested on older versions, same behavior.

Tested on 3 machines, 2 of them run Windows 7 and the 3rd one runs Windows 8,
same behavior.

Only version of LibreOffice that does not do this is 3.x series, this led me to
test OpenOffice and it does not occur there either.

I believe this is a bug that started on the 4.x series of LibreOffice to the
current series.

Screen with no taskbar icon

What I do:

1. Open Nemo 2.8.7 file browser
2. Click any document (odt for example)
3. Writer starts and openes my document, but no icon in taskbar appears (see
the screen, bottom in taskbar). The same with Calc and other LibreOffice
programs.

But If I start LibreOffice programs from application menu their icons in
taskbar appear.

Calc file with macro demonstrating bug

LibreOffice will crash if a cell range search is attempted on an empty range as
returned by "queryContentCells" on a cell range with no data. A sample Calc
file with a demonstration macro is attached.
Click "Crash" on the toolbar to demonstrate the bug. On a sheet with data, the
row number containing the data is returned and displayed in a message box. The
search is then done on an empty sheet and LibreOffice will crash.

When I change the GTK theme under Fedora 23/Gnome 3.18, the UI looks horrible.

In calc we have a common pattern based on the old calc core desing to call:

CellType eType = pDoc->GetCellType(aPos);
switch(eType)
{
case CELLTYPE_VALUE:
   nVal = pDoc->GetValue(aPos);
break;
case CELLTYPE_STRING:
   aStr = pDoc->GetString(aPos);
break;
case CELL...
}

which calls two times with a slow call into mdds. Instead we should use
ScRefCellValue which only calls once.

The task is to grep for GetCellType in sc/source and find places where we use
that pattern and replace it with ScRefCellValue.

When opening a file from Finder or Dock, Libreoffice does not show the document
until a key is pressed or mouse is moved.

Libreoffice is started but the window list at the top only shows "LibreOffice
File"

Pressing a key or moving the mouse immediately shows the file.

When select: Format, Page within Writer and Calc; it takes from 30 to 33
seconds to load the dialog box.  It used to take 15 to 20 seconds; now is
taking longer.  I have deleted the profile multiple times; used to work faster
for a few times of opening LO; but then back to waiting 20 to 30 seconds.  I
have deleted the registry modifications file numerous times; works for a bit,
then back to slow opening of page format dialog box.  I have uninstalled LO
numerous times; run CCleaner and Eusing cleaners, rebooted, reinstalled; but
the lag time in opening the Format, Page dialog box still happens.  I tried
portable LO, but I had same issue.  No improvement.  This bug goes back to the
3.x versions, but it has become worse over time.

My OS is: Windows XP SP3, AMD 6000+ dual core 3GHZ pc, 4GB RAM, Avast AV,
KeyScrambler, Comodo Firewall & HIPS, lots of Hard Drive space; also have
WizMouse, Networx, & SystemExplorer in system tray.  I do not have MS Office.

I also have a Linux Mint 17.3 partition with LO and the Format, Page function
works just fine; opens up right away.  I do have to keep the Win XP, otherwise,
I would not bother; Linux works great.  Thank you for your assistance and the
great work you do.

Callgrind profile shows this is run with the KDE / Qt backend. I see around
10bn pcycles inside OutputDevice::Layout - of the ~22bn in the trace. That time
is split between harfbuzz and fontconfig. Is it possible you have some huge &
complicated fontconfig setup ? or a vast number of fonts and/or shapers ?

Oddly nothing jumps out at me from the trace as obviously, dominatingly stupid
=)

You say it is slow to load too ? the doc load supposedly takes 4bn pcycles
which doesn't seem unreasonable.

No obvious inspiration here - sorry ...

Before and after of character count not updating

When highlighting text, the character count in the statusbar at the bottom does
not update properly. Highlighting multiple words with the keyboard or mouse
will show you the number of words and characters in the highlighted block.
Using  to modify the selection will move the selection back
or forth one character. This should update the characters selected count, but
it does not always do this. The count only updates when a space between words
is highlighted, or the first or last letter of the word is selected.

Using the latest stable release of LibreOffice on Arch Linux. If there is any
other information I can provide please let me know.

Get clean font/UI scaling to at least 175% boxes expand to hold font as scaled.

Sidebar widgets scale cleanly.

Marco reported he couldn't reproduce the exception with the listed font here;
and is instead having to try to corrupt the font to get it to fail which is
annoying =) perhaps Windows 10 is required somehow (?) or perhaps font
installation is a problem - possibly embedding this in a standalone document
that could crash on load would be a better test-case =)

Interesting; this is almost certainly because we now swap-buffers at idle, to
get correct screen refreshing ... I suspect that we need to dig into what idle
handling is going on during writer load; and how this works on Mac (where there
is a similar rendering approach).

Marco - perhaps worth looking at as your next issue; my feeling is that we're
going to need an Update(bool bReallyDoIt); type separation, and to go audit all
of the Window:;Update() calls (or is it Window::Flush()) - and actually do the
swap-buffers for the few of these cases where there really is no main-loop
running and we want to update the screen from the back-buffer.

Of course - we really also need that fix for a nice solution to synchronously
render inside a re-size callback etc.

Scaling 109+ defect

Hi,
I use LibreOffice 5.1.1.3 /Build ID: 1:5.1.1-0ubuntu1.
By "accident", I detected the following bug:

Increasing the scaling to a value higher than 108% leads to corrupted text
boxes in the menus. Obviously, the problem is that the effect of the scaling to
the text size in the text boxes (e.g. drop box for fonts and font sizes) is
higher than the to the hight of the text box.

Just for info => I changed the scaling by use of the following steps in the
menu:
=> Tools => Options => LibreOffice => View => Scaling

I would appreciate your help.

Thanks for the quick reply and you are correct! The behaviour is not
reproducible on two newer versions of LO.

I tested on 5.0.5.2 on Windows 7 and the references to the other sheet are
correct.
I also installed 5.1.1.3 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and the bug does not show either.

Nonetheless I do strongly believe that it should be adressed, as 4.2.8.2 is the
official LO-version of by Ubuntu 14.04, which is a LTS-version and thus widely
used and it will be supported until 2019.

It is because your graphics card / its driver does not support enough OpenGL
features.

breeze is the default now. I don't see LO reverting to Sifr in the near future.
There are several reasons.

- breeze is more complete
- looks more native on OSX

The issue with toolbar color, Adolfo mentioned, may be valid (although I never
had complaints using breeze) but should be addressed in a separate bug.

Also as already mentioned by adolfo: you are free to switch to Sifr any time
and very easily via LO options.

style is lost, overlines changed to other symbols (similar to \acute in LaTeX).

Unable to confirm on 5.0.2 Ubuntu 15.10 or 5.0.2.alpha same OS.
Could you please test it on a newer version of LO?

the hyperlink dialog > Internet tab, has a button with a globe on it. that
button opens a blank page in the default browser. the tooltip says:
"Open web browser, copy an URL, and paste it to Target field."

This is really bad UX and a workflow not used in 2016. Many users will have the
browser open already. If not, just use a launcher or keyboard shortcut. That
button is really awkward. And then it is highly likely users will not type an
URL like:

Also what about users who take URLs from bibliography software? The button is
assuming every URL is coming from the browser which is plain stupid and not
true.

I am assuming, the button is there, to give the tab a similar look to the other
tabs. But why? I mean form follows function and not vice versa, right? If
there's no good reason for a button, it should not be there. Done.

Thus: please remove that button in the "internet" tab of the hyperlink dialog.

That aside: Target: is a really odd name. Why not use URL: and users will know
what the dialog is asking for.

With open source there are always 4 options:
1) Fix it yourself;
2) Find a friend, family member, colleague to fix it;
3) Pay for a fix -> almost always out of the reach for a single
individual.assume at least 1k generally (10 hours at about $100/hr) minimum
4) Wait for a volunteer to take interest, could be tomorrow, could be years
from now

Using Writer 5.1.1.3 application crashed, but for different reason than the
original bug report, therefore we may consider opening a new bug report.

At the time of the crash in Writer I clicked on "Format" menu and wanted (and
may have) clicked on "Page". Backtrace is attached. Please advise if a separate
bug report should be created.

Your question regarding the crash happening in version 5.1.1 remains
unanswered. I will get back to you after sufficient usage of Calc or a crash.

The .doc file opens in Word 2007 and displays the correct last four words on
the paragraph on the line.

However if uploaded to a OneDrive instance and opened with Office365/Word
Online (2016), the "wooden floors at northro" are rotated into vertical text
anchored left, the "p." is lost. Attempting to edit in Word Online fails with
its file conversion and suggests editing in Desktop MS Word.

Perform a Copy and Paste Special -> Unformatted Text of the document into a new
writer document, then save that as Word 97-2003 format. On upload to OneDrive
it has the same misformatting of the last sentence when preview opened in
Office365 Word Online. When edited in Word Online it displays a note that it
has reformatted the text--and the full last sentence is rendered.

Inclined to say not our bug, but obviously an interoperability issue if common
occurrence into Word 2013/2016.

Will test on additional desktop installs of Word--2010, 2013, 2016.

Example of the bug including description in the attached file.

If I cut a column and paste it to another sheet in the same file
corresponding formulas will change but they do not reflect the
paste-to-new-sheet operation and their displayed result will not change.

Recalculating all cells with F9 does not bring up a different result.
If I edit one of these cells and do NOT change anything, but just enter a
trailing blank, the cell will be recalculated and display a different result.

If I restore the status quo ante with CTRL-Z, the formulas are NOT changed back
to their original content, which is a source for possible miscalculations the
user may overlook.

"The expected result of the cut/paste-operation would be that the formulas
would reflect the new location of the pasted cells or they would change to an
error (#REF or #DIV/0 or similar)"

If you however assign names to the cut cells, and use it in the formulas, all
works well.

Even though you can exit LibreOffice with a work around - Clicking the X, or
Ctrl+Q, this issue should be considered a fairly high priority.  People tend to
judge by fairly shallow criteria whether or not software is well written - and
if an bug like this is so obvious, they would probably be concerned what other
issues are waiting just under the surface.

Hi Samuel,

Indeed it is much better when the tool bar doesn't pop up somewhere floating.
However there should be a way to disable the automatic display. When you
disable the too lbar Image or Table via the menu, it will not pop up automatic.
That does not happen with the navigation tool bar.

So, sorry, I reopen this issue.

(I've no idea honestly, when this tool bar appears. Sometimes with numbers,
headings, Navigator.. It just happens..)
