However, if I print that document or switch to print preview, it's just showing that label text in a huge and otherwise unformatted style. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong in general but the font-style was working perfectly in LO4 and changed with 5.x (tried several 5.x versions up to the current release 5.1.2.2). So it may be a variation of #89394, but it was certainly not corrected by it. Stating it in an other way: I don't want that libre office try to resolve any properties of objects I don't care of, because you CAN'T know how long it will take. Or at least, do it professionnaly, specifying timeout (anything taking more than 100ms is certainly wrong and should be an error. I can accept a few lags in the range of 100s ms). Again: I don't care of anything but what I specifically asked for. For example, there is NO reasons to try to open (or whatever is done) recent documents, freezing the UI for minutes, when I want to display a slideshare I gave as parameter of the command line to a client. And there is no reason to try to get properties for recent documents BUT if I actually clicked on one of the entries, and even then, there is no reason to try to get properties for other entries! Yes, this is a bug, and a regression. An easier reproduction is to just add a Check Box without any changes, and the print preview will already show the label in huge size. The mathematical functions I wrote were just one way to generate them, although I guess that approximating it with Bézier curves would be easier to implement (it does not need to be an exact shape; just something that "looks like a coil"). (I mentioned the cycloid and trochoid just because they were just particular cases of "a coil in perspective", not because I thought those mathematical shapes were necessary. Then one would have to re-establish the topmost formula and copy the formula down again. Why would I want the both references to change? This is useful if say I am capturing items from random slips of paper, and then want to sort them into date sequence when I have finished capturing them. This is the approach used in MS Excel and the Calc approach would thus create confusion for people who migrate from MS. I click to activate another sheet. The tabs are automatically scrolled whereas the name of the desired sheet is completely displayed before. It's very annoying because it breaks the job flow.
