I don't think a different title means anything about the status by itself.
Anyway, my question is, do you get this with an empty document, and other fonts
as well?
And is the version in the Version field supposed to mean that it occurred first
in beta1, and still occurs in beta2?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100319] New: At 3440x1440 resolution, numeric entries appear ONLY in entry bar and not simultaneously in cell for columns A-K

2016-06-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100319

Bug ID: 100319
Summary: At 3440x1440 resolution, numeric entries appear ONLY
in entry bar and not simultaneously in cell for
columns A-K
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dljn...@gmail.com

Open Calc 5.1.3.2 full screen at 3440x1440 resolution. Click in cell A1 and
enter any number. Number will not appear simultaneously in BOTH cell and input
bar before enter is pressed, instead appearing ONLY in input bar. This
behaviour continues from column A to column K, which is the first column where
input behaviour is normal. If Calc is windowed and window width is 3/4 or less
of full screen, numeric entry starts working again. Also, if screen resolution
is changed to 2560x1440 or below, numeric entry works normally. This bug
doesn't seem to have any effect upon either alphabetic characters or symbols.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100315] feature request: OSX like search functionality ( Mac OS X Spotlight)

2016-06-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100315

No, this sounds like "search for commands" that is available by default in MSO
2016 (and with a plug-in in previous versions). And Ubuntu also has something
like this to search the menus of programs (including LibreOffice)..

When we reorganized the menu and we moved commands around something like this
would be useful for the users. For example people didn't find pivot table at
its usual place - with this the user could type "pivot" and the search would
find all commands that has "pivot" in the name. So in this case it would find
"Insert -> Pivot Table.." and if you click on it / hit enter, it would execute
the command.

I think something like this would be useful to have native in LO to make
searching for commands in the menu easier and I don't think it would be that
hard to implement.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87667] Original Size (.uno:OriginalSize) doesnt work correctly when an image is cropped

2016-06-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87667

Yousuf,
What's the use case you were thinking of for this feature? I've have quite a
bit of experience creating slides and I think a simpler solution would be even
more useful.

When dealing with image manipulation, the key feature that you want is a
"Restore to Original". Whether it's a scaling that was not done proportionally
or a cropping that is missing something, it's always nice to have a quick reset
button to get the image back to its original state.

Instead of behaving differently for cropping and scaling, we should have one
simple function, "Restore to Original" or "Reset Image".

I understand your request, but the current situation seems fine to me (though
I've once been confused by this too). Another possibility is to have the field
show an ERROR message when the data does not exist yet. Otherwise, for this
part, it's NOTABUG or WONTFIX.

In any case, if you still deem this important, I suggest that you file a new
bug report just for this. Having separate requests in separate bug reports is
the way to go. Thank you for participating.

x86-64_DEB gave me many problems trying to install so it was not tested.

TextBox - when rotating text 90 or 270 degrees, there is no control on text
justification. It is always centered with multi-line text regardless of Vert
or Horiz setting. With single line (sample uses two words) text is justified
if textbox is narrow enough only to fit one line. If textbox is widened to fit
more than one line it will display one word on each of two lines and centered,
not in the textbox but one above the other.

Sample has one table and a report with the problem. Created using v4.4.7.2

Hi @segovia1040.

IMO you are using the wrong formula, with your formula the actual year it's
took by default.
Use a formula like: =TEXT(CONCATENATE(J28;"/";$B28)+7;"DD/MM"), so you take the
year of the row ($B28).
Why not simply manage dates in the cells not as text and format the cell how
you like.

Resolved as not a bug, please if you are not agree, reopen it.

that is, setting to a transparent background is still not an option. Please

FormattedField; however, (as already suggested) if the Transparent Background
were an option on the ColorPalette, it would be most useful.

Of course, we would want to continue this transparent background onto our PDF

Make navigating the menus easier.

Searching through menus can often be time consuming, and if you're
inexperienced with the Suite, you have to go to the Documentation to find a
specific feature that you want.

A nice way to fix that would be implementing a search box that allows you to
search for specific functionalities in the program. Search for "horizontal
line" and you get all the functionalities of the program with this keyword,
including "insert horizontal line".

You can simply click enter, and it will insert a horizontal line, or you can
press Ctrl+Shift+Enter and it will show you how to navigate the menu to find
that specific thing you searched for.

If you search "Horizontal Line" and use the help option, it will open
Format -> Styles and Formatting -> Horizontal Line
step by step, showing the user how to get to that functionality without using
the search box.

Now the user can learn about the program in a more visual way without going to
documentation.

The bug can be easily reproduced by following these steps:

* Download the attachments
* Define the .ods file as a database in the .odt file (Edit > Exchange database
> Browse > Define Sheet1)
* Save and quit

Moreover, LO does not offer recovery at restart.

Even if the database has the same name as the one used in the field's
condition, LO crashes.

It helps to enable the "Line and Filling" toolbar as well, because either "Text
Formatting" or "Line and Filling" is shown. (Besides little height differences
already addressed in bug 78924.)

Another way to avoid jumping is to undock the toolbar, or to dock it to the
left or bottom of the window.

Another workaround is to define an own empty bar and put it in the row under
the standard bar. This empty bar is always there, because it is a user defined
bar. It works then as place holder to keep the edit area from jumping.

There is a more general discussion of popping up toolbars in bug 36976.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100314] New: EDITING FORMATTING:

2016-06-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100314

Bug ID: 100314
   Summary: EDITING FORMATTING:
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stephen.bunga...@gmail.com

Text Formatting tool-bar appears and disappears depending on whether text is
being manipulated or not causing the working area to move up and down a
distance equivalent to the he height of the tool bar.

Suggested Enhancement:
Keep the "text-formatting" tool-bar on the screen in either an "Enabled" or
"disabled" state, depending on if text is being manipulated or not. This will
prevent the document from jumping up and down, preserve the end user's sanity,
and in general make the whole experience much more productive & enjoyable.

This is a Word document

Hi Folks,
Here is the word document. It is an ongoing log of our travels. I used to have
windows and thats where the doc was created. Some time ago, while on windows
platform, the index was destroyed. Those are the places where "reference not
found" appear. It was not long after that I went to the new platform. I have
been slowly creating the new index, based on error reference and on our current
daily goings on.
Recently, maybe a week ago, I did an "Index Update" and what appeared was a
copy of the Table of Contents Under the Alphabetical Index heading.

Hope this helps, Kind regards

I am still following this, but I haven't had the time to build a proper test
environment and get the details. I ran a quick test at work with a newish (if
not the latest) LibreOffice 5 on a Win7 64-bit against MS SQL Server 2008. The
driver was ADODB something, as in not the Native Client or ODBC. The bug was
still there. I ran the query with both the syntaxes documented in this bug
("col2" = :x vs. "col2" = ?).

I'm hoping that I'll have the time to look into this during the weekend. BTW,
where do I find the advanced setting for anonymous parameters? I glanced around
but didn't find it yet.

2. Menu Insert > File ... Select to open your .odg file
3. In a pop-up that appears, click the filename to expand the "tree"
4. Select one or multiple Draw pages (by holding down Ctrl)
5. Confirm with OK

and voila, Draw pages are now slides of a presentation.

Sadly I have no creative idea how to streamline the user experience here

WinDbg stacktrace of 5.2.0b2 crash report

Confirming.

On Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US with nVidia GTX-750i GPU
Version: 5.2.0.0.beta2 (x64)
Build ID: ae12e6f168ba39f137fc110174a37c482ce68fa4
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US)

Using swriter.exe, with install directory on path (sorry for not being clear,
was the launch via soffice.exe & StartCenter or direct with swriter.exe) have
the issue.

Launching with no profile into simpress.exe, scalc.exe, sdraw.exe--close
without fully opening the GUI--and the user profile is partial.

While smath.exe and soffice.exe seem to come up cleanly, and profile has OpenGL
enabled.

If launched from StartCenter, a launch of Writer closes, and on relaunch see
the error report dialog, and after that Writer opens with default rendering.

So kind of seems like this is OpenGL test related as well.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100307] Problem installing libreoffice extension as shared

2016-06-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100307

It turns out that AddOns.xcu and its parent directory were still owned by root

so:
~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/extensions/shared/registry/com.sun.star.comp.deployment.configuration.PackageRegistryBackend/lu178289vkw8g.tmp
was owned by root in group root
as was the AddOns.xcu in that directory

Given that you have to be superuser to install an extension as shared, I deem
it an error that the local files are left as owned as root.

That's not a bug. The parameter separator (';' or ',' or whatever) is exactly
that, it separates parameters. AREAS takes only one parameter though, hence one
has to use the reference union / list operator '~'. Either that or for
convenience for those accustomed to Excel behavior enclose a parameter
separated list in additional parentheses, e.g. AREAS((range1,range2,range3))
which then is converted to AREAS((range1~range2~range3)). This is also
mentioned in the help.

The bug here is that when selecting areas once having entered a separator or
any operator, already existing input field content should not be overwritten
(as it is not selected at that stage anymore) but the new selection appended to
the input at the cursor position instead. This is not specific to the AREAS
function, e.g. range1+range2 could be a valid argument for many functions
(using operator '+' with two position dependent implicit intersections for
example).

Yes, the DOCX vs RTF import result is about DOCX importing the chart natively,
while RTF just shows the replacement image. What's interesting is that the RTF
result is the one that matches the Word colors. So I would say either close
this bug as invalid (as the RTF import is correct) or re-title this bug and
mark it as an OOXML chart problem that the DOCX import result doesn't match the
Word one.

Luke: can you please do one of the above?

Thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100304] Dual HiDPI monitors, menu and cascading sub-menus display for a second then blank out on secondary screen

2016-06-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100304

(In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #1)

I'm using Win 7 Pro - the monitors are 2 AOC U2868 28 inch 4 K monitors set to
3840 x 2160 in landscape. I've not specifically tested every menu item, and
usually only use LO Writer, so not tested the other products. The issue occurs
ONLY on the monitor set as the 2nd monitor, if I change primary monitors the
problem transfers - thus I suspect it may be a focus related issue, but I don't
know enough about that side of the software.

I write stories and have a master document in a 6 x 9 inch book format I
transfer edits into from my editors. I open one file up on the primary screen
and one on the secondary screen. On the secondary screen if I click on a word
highlighted as a spelling error the sub-menu window that shows the choices and
dictionary options opens, shows the items for a second or two, then goes blank.
I also have the menu bar along the top of the screen because I prefer to use
it, when I select a menu item it open, shows the options for a second, and then
goes blank. In either, if there is a lower level menu and I hover the mouse
over the spots it is in the next level menu will open for a second and go
blank.

While typing this reply I had a thought and did an experiment with a file.
Single File open in LO Writer. In the primary screen all the menus etc work
fine, drag the LO window over into the secondary monitor and I have the
vanishing menus issue occur. I have a couple of other word processing programs
on the system and I tried the same trick with them, they do not have the
vanishing menu problem. Of the many programs I have running, only LO
demonstrates this issue of the vanishing menus.

I just confirmed it IS a LO Writer issue. I opened a LO Calc file and it does
NOT have the same problem, it displays and works the same on both monitors.

I did try replacing the profile, and it made no change to the problem.

I've no idea what the cause is. But because there's a simple work around of
having the active file on the primary monitor I've put it as a low priority,
but still felt it should be reported in case it affects others as well.
Whatever is causing this may affect something else, later. Many years ago when
I did some programming I was always told to report unexpected behaviour in the
software, so I am.

I'm generally starting it from Start menu.
However, I tried with 'soffice.exe --writer' just now, and the result was the
same (for some reason again the first run was fine, but after I did it again -
after deleting the profile both times - I got the crash).

I'm not sure I understand the last question correctly. Does this answer your
question? "There's no crash if the main application is run, only when
Writer/Calc/etc. is started."
