Welcome, in general have a look at:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/GetInvolved

Code pointers are found in comment #18,
That patch was good, but had some side effects, so the easiest way is to take
the patch, test it, and correct it.

The problem the patch introduced was around outlining at higher levels than 2.

Baseline in my terms is the lowest line in the original picture.
It appears in PDF if the picture und the odt is in original size. It disappears
very often if the picture in the odt is smaller than the original.

This problem seems to be more severe with jpg than with gif. But this is more
an impression than a statement after an in depth test.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100825] PDF export of document with Adobe Creative Cloud fonts no longer works

2016-07-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100825

Correct; No longer works since updating to 5.1.3 from a previous version.
However, I just upgraded to LibreOffice 5.1.4.2, and now the Adobe Creative
Cloud fonts are appearing in the PDF exports, so could possibly be a
coincidence -- possibly Adode fixed something. Or a combination.

So, not sure whether to close this or leave it open; I unfortunately don't have
time currently to uninstall 5.1.4.2, install old 5.1.3, and see if issue
reappears.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100977] New: Something, (long Formulae?) make a file unusable in LO 5 but works in LO4

2016-07-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100977

Bug ID: 100977
Summary: Something, (long Formulae?) make a file unusable in LO
5 but works in LO4
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.1 rc
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: c...@wycliffe.org.au

Created attachment 126260
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126260&action=edit
Chart of Solar Output: Day_Plot and Smoothed Plot

I have a Calc Workbook with many entries. When I edited the Formulae in a
certain column to compute on about 95 values everything seemed to work that day
but when I tried to re-open the file to that page the next day Windows shut
down LibreOffice with the message. LibreOffice has stopped working correctly.
Windows will close the program The File can be recovered but if I attempt
to save it the same thing happens. The computer is running Windows 7. I then
upgraded LibreOffice from 5.1.4.1 to 5.1.4.2 but the same thing happens. I went
back to an earlier copy and updated it. All seemed well but the next day the
same problem. I copied the problem file to a USB stick and can use it with no
problems in my Dell Precision M6400 laptop computer which I recently upgraded
to Windows 10 but left Libre Office 4.0.4.2 on it. Both computers are running
64-bit versions of Windows. So it appears that LibreOffice 5 cannot process a
file that LibreOffice 4 has no problems with. Any suggestions?
The file was created in LibreOffice, always saved in OD format and I have not
allowed any MS Office program to touch that file.
I have made two test files by deleting most of the worksheets.
The one I upload contains the graphs which are the purpose of the calculations.
Data to be displayed is selected in A2: the weighting factor in A3. A value of
1.00 on A3 would result in a simple averaging. The calculations produce the
thick line which is a weighted-toward-the-centre average of the values plotted
with a thin line. LO 5 crashes when the "Solar" worksheet containing the graph
is selected. I created another from this file by deleting the graph. LO 5
opened that one but crashed when I attempted a Save-As on it. The test files
were created using LO 4.

Reproduced in a couple of versions, including 4.0.0.3. In 3.6.0.4 the text is
Hindi in the preview, but looks compacted, and it's incomplete, with a few
squares.

Since the issue does not seem to affect quality work, I'm adjusting importance
accordingly.

2016-07-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 100976
Summary: "Search key not found" badly placed and partially
obscured after Find failure (UI)

   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Screen shot from Windows 7

The message after a failure to find a string appears on the far left, slightly
above the Find box. See the attached screen shot.

The screen shot shows the position, but doesn't accurately reflect the display.
After pressing "" the message was partially behind the find input
box. For some reason it appears in front of the input box in the screen shot.

Notes:

* Observed on Ubuntu and Windows 7. The screen shot is from Windows 7.

* The box is labeled "Find" and the advanced version is "Find & Replace". Why
is the message about "Search" instead of "Find"?

* If the window is maximized the message moves to the right of the search
controls, and stays in that position when the window is un-maximized (at least
for the window size I used).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100975] Page background filling Hatching has lost ability to enable/ disable or change background color

2016-07-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100975

Please have a look at the description of the project proposal -
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gf7wqYszXnbrbzbyNlLKbJelMb20ssuimxfszcHP_wM/
. The goal of the GSoC : Area Fill dialog proposal is to move all the fill
style tabs inside the area tab. When the project is completed, the Area tab
under Area dialog and the Background tab under Page setup dialog will contain
all the fill style tabs. I agree that we can't set the background color in
hatching and gradient steps for Gradient in the current dialog, but once the
project is complete we will be able to do so. I hope this clarifies the
situation.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100975] New: Page background filling Hatching has lost ability to enable/ disable or change background color

2016-07-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100975

Bug ID: 100975
Summary: Page background filling Hatching has lost ability to
enable/disable or change background color
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.1 rc
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium

  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Created attachment 126257
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126257&action=edit
File with pages with page format "Hatching"

Open attached document in LO52 or newer.
Open Format > Page > Background. Notice, there is no way to enable/disable or
to change background color of the hatching.

The document has been created in LO5.1.6. Open it in that version. Open Format
> Page > Background. Notice the checkbox and the drop-down-list.

The problem is, that this checkbox and drop-down-list has been moved to tab
Hatching in the Area-dialog. But that dialog is not available from page format
dialog.

On the other hand, the background of a hatching is currently not saved in the
hatching itself, but in the object, that gets this hatching. So it does not
help to "generate" a hatching with the desired background in the Area-dialog.

Because of this issue and a similar one for the Increments setting of
gradients, I suggest to move these settings back to the Area tab until there is
a backwards compatible, ODF conform other way of storing this informations.

The font preview window shows sample text for a selected font and language.
But when certain fonts are selected, the sample text is in a different script
than the open currently being displayed in Language Field.

For example: If by default text is shown in Mangal Font and Language: Hindi and
we change the font to Liberation Serif, the text is now in Hebrew, while the
language still remains Hindi. But if we write some text in hindi using
Liberation Serif it will show up correctly.

The rendering seems to be broken only for lines which contain bidirectional
text.
This bug is most likely in the Uniscribe code path used for complex text layout
on Windows.

Note: This bug does not occur in my feature branch. My feature branch does not
use uniscribe on windows. So the text layout in RTL right-to-left text renders
correctly.

Complex bidirectional text(ex. Arabic) does not render correctly for some fonts
on Windows.

To recreate:
1. Open new doc.
2. Copy any paragraph from ar.lipsum.com containing bidirectional text i.e.
lines with both english and arabic.
3. Copy and paste into LO.
4. Format->Paragraph->Alignment->Properties->Text-Direction->Right-to-Left

The text does not render correctly.
Sometimes the text will render correctly but as soon as "Show non printing
characters" is selected, the rendering is changed and is not proper.
This only happens with some fonts(ex. Liberation Serif).
With non printing characters set to show, the rendering is almost never right.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100972] New: Wrong rendering of distance of hatch

A example document does not help to reproduce, because you need your own
standard.soh file.

With a version 5.0 or newer do this:
Rename you user profile to get a new one.
Start Draw.
Goto Format > Area > Hatching
Make the settings: Spacing: 1cm, Angle: 0°, Line type:Single, Line color: Gray
5
Click Add and enter the name Line10mm.
Close Draw, close LibreOffice.
Goto your user folder and therein subfolder config. You should have got a file
standard.soh. Open it in an editor and make sure, that it has an item Line10mm
with attribute draw:distance="10mm".

Now start Writer and enable vertical ruler.
Goto Format > Page > Background. Set Fill to Hatching. Select item Line10mm
from the list. Ok.
Notice, that the lines have wrong distance.
Enter a shape, select Area from its context menu. Goto tab Hatching and click
on item Line10mm. Notice that the distance reads 1.76cm.

Rename your user profile back.

Version: 5.0.0.0.alpha1+

The feature hatching for text document pages does not exist in older versions.
I don't know the exact version, when it has been introduced.

The error persists in newer version. Under some circumstances (I cannot
reproduce) I had seen 1cm in the view, but then the value in file format was
not 10mm, but 5.67mm.

Position of Pilcrow symbol is wrong for rotated text.

To recreate:
1. Enter some text.
2. Rotate it by going to Format->Character->Position->Rotation/Scaling
3. Enable "Non-Printing characters" (Ctrl+F10)

Pilcrow shows up overlapping the text and not at the end of it.

With 5.1.5.1, if the "Allow use of OpenCL" is enabled, the program crashes. On
next start, the option is disabled. Although the first crash looks scary, it's
probably what you wanted to hear. Maybe a notice "OpenCL was disabled because
it seems to crash LibreOffice" on next start would be great. People would then
know what happened that it will not happen anymore.

Hi,
I have noticed, that values are not highlighted when formula points to sheet
which needs to be in single quotes (in the formula) - when they contain
characters like "-", ";" or ","... In this case the cell highlighting does not
work. The problem is resolved when sheet is renamed..¨
e.g. formula "=A5+Q3+my_sheet_food.B35" works fine, but formula
"=A5+Q3+'sheet-food,drinks'.B35" does not highlight values in "commented"
sheets.

Start with an empty presentation. Go to Import > File and import the attached
odg file. I used the settings "do not delete unused background" and "do not
adapt shapes". You should get a first empty slide and second slide with the
imported shapes. Immediately start presentation on first slide by clicking on
its command icon. Try to go to next slide via mouse click or space bar. Nothing
happens.

I see the same problem, in case using an existing presentation.

I have set it to "minor/low" because it will work after you do something and
then start presentation again. But nevertheless it indicates, that something is
missing, when inserting a file.

It has worked without this problem in LO4.2.

Crash confirmed under Windows 10 x64 with LO v4.4.7.2 x86, v5.0.6.3 x86;
v5.1.5.1 x64 and v5.2.0.2 x64
It loads slowly but without crash with v4.3.7.2 x86

It is not probably not related to profiles since the x86 builds are portable
(and use independent profiles)

Marking as regression since it loads correctly in v4.3.7.2

In my experience LibreOffice is more stable under Windows 7 than under Windows
10 (and under Windows XP because it is being deprecated)

Grouped charts while connecting chart to the group

The charts in the first attachment aren't connected to the group. You have to
open the "Data" of the chart and connect "Group" to "Group". Seems there is a
problem to connect to the same query, so I created a second query the same way
as the first query. Now the charts are grouped.

I couldn't confirm charts do not support groups. So I will set this bug to
UNCONFIRMED.

Using odt to save, works fine, only a few seconds to open.

Cleaning all direct format open just fine saving/reopening as doc.

As I remember for other bugs and threads in forums, LibreOffice doesn't like
too much an intensive use of direct format, importing ms files.

So perhaps, cleaning direct format and setting up properly default format can
reduce the need for a hard use of direct format.

i removed the profile after uninstallation of libreoffice and then reinstall
it.
i tried many times, but in 4.4 libreoffice crashed due to an unexpected error,
and with 5.0 and 5.1 it crashed seh exception access violation.
please change the earliest affected version to 4.4 instead of 5.0.6.3

I am not quite sure. But in general I install 64 bit versions.
I can make you the file available. It has been growing over the years with
different versions of Openoffice and LibreOffice. So I think ist could contain
some special structures.
The file is the manuscript of a recently published book. I expect your to youse
it for debugging purposes only and not to publish it in the net.

if you have a one page document which loads in half a minute with LO instead of

demonstration of the problem with a fresh document

In this video with a "fresh" document you see the opposite problem: I type
random gibberish and LibreOffice interprets that as "Breton" (from Brittany),
changing the menu options depending on that detection. It could have been any
language, and normal texts can have words from multiple languages at once,
throwing off the autodetection anyway.

I think it would be simpler if it didn't change the results based on what it
thinks the language is, and rather prompts the user to pick the language
directly with a dedicated dialog, as suggested in bug #100856

Yes, this happens with a fresh document too. The thing is that LibreOffice
tries to be "smart" and to autodetect the language of the contents the user has
selected, which is precisely what I don't want.
