I see this bug is credited as fixed in LibO 5.1.5 RC1 bugfix list.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/5.1.5/RC1

has anyone checked if it's right?
I don't have this version installed right now to test.

Reproduced the print preview issue with 5.2.0.3 in Windows 7 and Ubuntu 15.10.
Also reproduced with 5.1.0.3, but not with 5.0.0.5 in Windows 7. => regression
It looks like a couple of huge characters on the sheet.

Note that there are also a number of different issues with PDF export, some
that seem to be regressions, but in this bug report let's concentrate on print
preview (testing if it's printed fine can only come after that is fixed).

Bruno, could you upload the Excel original of this spreadsheet? It'll help in
verifying whether the issue is with conversion or with print preview/printing.

Since at least 5.1 the menu entry "Table Properties" of Table menu has been
renamed Properties.
"Table Properties" is only the tooltip of the corresponding icon in the Table
toolbar.

So several strings in the Help are wrong. For example:
FzVLt, oskYj, e8GDF

Actually, there is still an issue with the documentation.

It's specifically stated that:

"Anything you write with the pen is not saved when you exit the slide show. The
color of the pen cannot be changed."
https://help.libreoffice.org/index.php?title=5.1/Impress/Slide_Show_Settings&Language=en-US&System=WIN&Version=5.1#Mouse_pointer_as_pen

This needs to be updated to reflect the current behavior.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100985] Calc crashes on opening document

2016-07-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100985

@Dave, *

Clearing your user profile to allow a new default to build is trivial--details
are here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

The 5.2.0.3 rc3 builds have just posted here:
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/

These builds include the built-in crash reporting mechanism that would be very
helpful to resolving this.

The automated crash reporting performs a program mini-dump based on the Google
"breakpad" project crash reporting (don't implement OS X flavor). It does not
upload without your permission, and shall not upload any of the document
details--only the program stack and details useful for debugging an issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100985] Calc crashes on opening document

2016-07-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100985

Please also try my earlier suggestion as well, uncheck these, and restart
LibreOffice:
'Tools -> Options... -> LibreOffice -> OpenCL -> Allow use of OpenCL' and
'Allow use of Software Interpreter (even when OpenCL is not available)'
Do this first before downloading any newer release.

Version "5.2.0.2" is the same as Stuart mentioned (the .2 at the end stands for
rc2). I'm not entirely sure the crash reporter would be able to catch this
particular kind of crash, but it's certainly worth a try if the above
suggestion doesn't help (if it does, no need to bother).
If you're going to install a newer version, you can also install it separately
from the existing installation, there are some directions here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Windows
(SI-GUI is a useful little tool)

Hmm. I guess I won't download it. I can't find out how.

If I go to libreoffice.org, it offers me the chance to download 5.1.4. I'm
currently on 5.1.3.2, so I could try uploading to this. If I click down below,
I can get to a page that offers me source code in tarballs; I don't think I
have what's needed to build it. It also offers me a button "DOWNLOAD VERSION
5.2.0". If I click that, it starts to download LibreOffice_5.2.0.2_Win_x86.msi
. But you specified "5.2.0.2 rc2". Nothing tells me how to get that or
whether that's what I'd be getting. You'll understand that I hesitate to
install a pre-release version if it's not the one that will give the desired
information. I'm sorry, I'm a user in this case, not a developer, & I really
don't want suddenly to find (say) that I can't open any files at all, or
something like that. (And, yes, things like that have happened to me in the
past.) So I guess I need more complete instructions.

2016-07-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 101063
Summary: "Test OpenCL" spreadsheet is useless with locales that
use comma as decimal separator
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu

The one accessible via:
'Tools -> Options... -> LibreOffice Calc -> Formula -> Detailed Calculation
Settings' set to Custom, then 'Details...', then 'Test OpenCL' button.

Because formulas are given like this: "=IF(ABS(C2-D2)<=3e-010,00,1)", the
results are Err:509 all over the spreadsheet for me (Hungarian locale, decimal
separator is comma).

It doesn't really affect anything, hence the trivial severity, but it would be
nice to have separators in functions changed to semicolon.

Yes, I know that non-reproducible bugs are hard to fix. I can try the rev you
specify, but . . . the last time I was told to up-rev, & it seemed to resolve
the problem, only to have it recur later after the bug had been closed. As I
say, I'd attach the spreadsheet if it weren't a lot of financial information.
And of course that might not help anyway.

Also, is the debugging information (when & if) going to include data from the
spreadsheet? If so, I really don't want to be sending it.

I tried all 4 variations on checking the two OpenGL boxes; LibreOffice still
crashed (all windows of whatever type vanishing) every time I tried to open
this file. I don't have a clue what "clear your user profile" means or how to
do it; I couldn't find anything in the tools that said that, although there's
so much stuff I could easily be missing something obvious.

I will try installing the rev you specified. If crashes then continue, & if I
can inspect the crash report, & it doesn't include a bunch of data, I'll upload
it.

Thanks.

Screenshot of cl-test.ods

Yes, I can turn it on, and it stays on.
My driver is actually newer than the one offered on AMD support site (which is
Crimson Edition 16.3.2), because I sometimes update with beta Catalysts (that
are only offered for desktop GPUs, not for APUs).

In cl-test.ods I see a huge difference among certain Stat results (up to
6*10^-1). And not only the difference is big, upon multiple recalculations the
2nd Stat result varies between 6.81 and 7.38, which is quite large (formula is
"=VAR(A7;B7)+NORMSDIST(A7)-COVAR(A6:A7;B6:B7)+PEARSON(A6:A7;B6:B7)+SLOPE(A6:A7;B6:B7)").
This is probably the reason why OpenCL gets turned off by default.

See my comment in the Debian bug:

--- snip ---
But yeah, I can confirm this in 5.1.5~rc1-1, too. Even with UI render: standard
(which is the immediate difference I can see in your above-mentioned comment)

I checked:
- default install: libreoffice-gtk3: no tooltip
- libreoffice-gtk3 removed so neither gtk2 or gtk3: tooltip
- install libreoffice-gtk: LO picks up gtk(2): tooltip

so it seems to be gtk3-only?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101061] New: Writer user-defined shorcut Alt+0...9 to change font-family

2016-07-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101061

Bug ID: 101061
Summary: Writer user-defined shorcut Alt+0...9 to change
font-family
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: cari...@live.com

Writer SHOULD allow the creation of user defined shortcuts for font-families.

This feature can increase productivity when the user is applying the
font-family to highlight important concepts inside a paragraph, without leaving
the keyboard. This is highly useful while writing scientific papers.

Currently there are no shortcuts for the key combination: Alt + (0...9). That
could be reserved to personalized font-family application.

The interface to use such a feature should also be pretty straightforward: In
the end of the font-family drop-down list, there could be placed a new item, to
define a shortcut, with a text like "Create a font shortcut...".

In daily Linux dbgutil repository version 2016-07-21 running on
debian-stretch, with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen, the dialog "Select path"
has button and I received an assertion (whitespace added) ...

/usr/include/c++/4.8/bits/unique_ptr.h:228:
std::unique_ptr<_Tp, _Dp>::pointer std::unique_ptr<_Tp, _Dp>::
operator->() const
[with _Tp = DialogImpl; _Dp = std::default_delete;
std::unique_ptr<_Tp, _Dp>::pointer = DialogImpl*
]: Assertion 'get() != pointer()' failed.

However, with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN undefined, the "Select Path" (note
extra capital letter) is different, allowing only selection from a
navigable list of directories, and it has an button. I was able
to change the directory without any problem.

It is, of course, merely an assumption that my assertion is related to
thackert's crash. I think his crash must be somewhat different
because he was not running a dbgutil build.

I am leaving bug status UNCONFIRMED because I have not searched for
duplicate bug reports.

Stuart -> Nasrin

In this case specifics of the document are probably not an issue. Agree with
Caolán--my stack trace here (from 5.0.6.3 build), and Pedro's trace from
(5.1.5.1) in bug 100813 point to the same area in code that Caolán has been
looking at, and has just patched a second issue on master 2016-07-21.

While Timur's trace is as for a newer build of master (2016-07-12) with the
initial patch in place so we are waiting for a new build of master with
corresponding debug symbols for the second patch, and will check both
documents.

Caolán has just consolidated them onto the older issue. Normal flow of
development.

I am setting status NEW, based on daily Linux dbgutil version

I think the original refactor missed that the args to the uno variants were a
little different to the non-uno variants. If I re-refactor it then this example
works again.

Heuteinkognito: Can you give specific feedback about which 5.2/5.3 build(s) can
demonstrate this problem? If we can't reproduce this bug in current builds, we
should resolve it and open a new bug if the problem reappears.

when I am in this "Select path" dialog, I am just seeing a "Select" button. In
the next one ("LibreOffice Document Recovery") I see an OK button (though no
document to recover as I was just changing the options without an open document
... ;) ).
Thanks for your comments and adding the newer versions to Bugzilla :)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101060] New: LibreOffice Writer - Always performs Recovery

2016-07-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101060

Bug ID: 101060
Summary: LibreOffice Writer - Always performs Recovery
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: libreoff...@isildo.com

I am having this problem on a Window system (skylake cpu 64 bit window 10). I
am storing my data on a OneDrive (cloud)

I just opened my Writer.odt file as a test, did a recover, save, close,
reopen.. and you know what is waiting for me. Recovery. Every time.

Most files cannot be opened without performing a recover. I say that because I
just tried to open a smaller file (20 kb). That one worked. The document that
I am working with is much larger (694 kb). Perhaps its a size issue?

I posted this sometime back, but I thought it was because I storing the data on
a OneDrive. I copied the file to a normal hard drive and get the same same
result.

Its very irritating
If there is a real recovery to do, then when you open it, there two recovers,
which has leads to me losing data. Not irritating, maddening.

A lot of thing are irritating. A process that is losing data is beyond that.
Having said that, the recovery works most of the time.

I found a thread at another site on this issue, but it was a few years old and
there seemed to be no real solution on posted on that tread. Mostly they were
just saying to hit the cancel button.

Last test (and only test in 2016) resulted in NOREPRO, and there hasn't yet

2007, it will fail

I save the xlsx from LibreCalc.

When I open it with Excel 2007, it gives me error "Excel found unreadable
content in ***.xls. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook?
If you trust the source of this workbook, click yes"

I have tried to follow the suggestion from
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42906 (Tools -> Options ->
Load/Save -> General, choose the ODF format version > ODF 1.0/1.1) and it does
not help.

Attached is the example file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100961] Insert Fixed Date Field Inserts Current Date

2016-07-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100961

This is a weekly report kept for a year. It has been around for years. Every
year I delete all but one page, delete the weekly data, leave the headings and
insert the new date. It is then saved in both the .DOC and .ODT format (I got
zapped by ransomware so I use .DOC for aharing and .ODT in hopes that if it
happens again it won't zap that).

I will create two new documents one .Doc one .ODT wait a day or two see what
happens and then cross save to see what happens. I'll report back next week.

I have mentioned the parallel install, as it involves a change to bootstraprc
to start with a clean profile
(https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux#Step_4_-_Optional.2C_but_Recommended_when_Testing:_Changing_the_User_Profile_location)
... ;) To my understanding of that description you always start with a clean

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101057] New: LO crash when creating database

2016-07-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101057

Bug ID: 101057
Summary: LO crash when creating database
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: thms.mae...@gmail.com

Created attachment 126341
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126341&action=edit
ZIP of screenshots (PDF) + created empty base (Recettes.odb)

On MacBook Pro 15"Retina, late 2013, 2 GHz Intel Core i7
Java Oracle JDK 8 build 102 / 1.8.0_102-b14

(See attachment ; page = screenshot of corresponding step)

1) Create new base - HSQLBD embedded - go to other pane
2) Set to open for edit -> Finish
3) Type a name in save dialog -> Save
4) CRASH (note: no filename is mentioned)
5) Launch LO (note: new database now appears, even if not mentioned in crash
dialog)
6) Recovery complete -> Finish
7) Database creation dialog -> click on Tables
8) Crash (note: now the database is mentioned)

Additional notes:
- If you now do it again, the same thing happens (crash when clicking on
Tables)
- If you don't select "open for edit" in (2), no crash upon creating the base.
- Opening the so-creasted files lands you in the database creation dialog (7).
- There, clicking on Tables (7) again lead to a crash (8).

hi pedro.
thanks extremely for your help, testing my bugs and confirming them.
hi Caolán McNamara
thanks extremely for your endeavours to resolve my issues.
i think this is a new bug and its different with my previous bug, (bug 100813)
these are two different document with different content.
i tested with with version 4.4.6.3 and the result was crash after minutes when
i opened the document and wanted to navigate in its different pages.
could you please test it with version 4.4.0? and if causes crash, its a
regression since 4.4.0 branch!
for me it opened properly in 4.3.7.2 after 30 minutes without any crash!
thanks again for your great job and God bless you all.

and installed both in parallel, following the instructions mentioned in my
first comment. I can reproduce this crash with them as well ... :( So it seems,
that an change between 5.2.0.2 and 5.2.0.3 is the culprit for this crash (or
maybe at any other version, daily or master?). If I could help any further
(without downloading the source code and compile LO), feel free to ask :)

The new one is better designed, but the issue remains. Eg. when I leave the
"Custom Animation" panel on when I exit LO, reopening it brings up
"Properties>Layout".

Even if I use Customization to remove "Properties">"Layout" or others, they
reappear on opening Impress!

So, presently it's still as annoying to me.
