This is what my toolbar looks like after installing libreoffice-gtk3
(LibreOffice 5.1.4.2, shipped by Ubuntu).

I like how Adolfo handles GTK3 bugs, eg. here: bug 101395. ;)
Also, the screenshot in bug 98919 shows a lot of similarities with mine, except
that in my case the pulldown buttons aren't visible.

So, that's a confirmation, but how shall we proceed?

I am also having this issue with Version 5.2.0.4 of calc on windows 10.

I use file->open then check read-only. shows (read-only) in window tile bar.

I run external script that changes the file.

I then do file->reload, the file does reload with the new changes but the
(read-only) in the title bar is gone and the file is back to write mode which
then blocks my script from writing changes to that file.

tested with same result in writer.

CONCAT vs. CONCATENATE

Yes, this is the exact same report as 99625, except it includes CONCAT.

There are no specifications, as these functions were introduced to be
compatible with Excel's new functions, see bug 97831.

I'd prefer to see minimal examples, like the one I'm attaching. C1 vs. C5, D1
vs. D5, obvious comparison (if my example is any good, I only have basic
understanding of this).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101110] Menu entry to execute commands by name

2016-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101110

(In reply to Jean-Baptiste Faure from comment #2)
> Please, could you describe a use-case showing that what you propose could be
> easier to use than adding your preferred but missing command in a menu or a
> toolbar?

Wow. :)
The often-used commands are, of course, better placed to a toolbar/sidebar,
there's no doubt.
But the full commands repertoire cannot be represented on toolbars, and even in
menus.
There are several main problems that this proposal could solve.
1. When I want to use some rarely-used command. :) For a power user, that knows
of some less-used functionality but useful in some situations, this is surely
often encountered situation. One single rare command may be required once a
year, but there's another one, and another, too much of them.
2. When I want to maximize usable screen space, like using new single toolbar.
So, the toolbar space is not too huge.
3. When I don't know (remember) where the command is (menu/toolbar) and what
its icon is, but searching by (part of) command's name will show me its icon
and (hopefully) will show me its position on menu. Further, I may not remember
its correct name, I may enter a word "capitals", and each command having a good
description and growing dictionary of aliases, I'll be presented with
"Format->Text->UPPERCASE" and "Format->Text->Capitalize Every Word" commands,
and also "Format->Character" with help section describing its Font Effects, and
Character Styles in that context. This way, anyone will find it easier to find
commands for requested functionality, easier to learn and enhance proficiency.

Thanks for the answer. Yes this is a way to avoid the problem in the first
place, and is really very clever thought out.

OTOH people expect that a format function does what it sais it does. So a
possibility would be to place a remark into the dialog something like "Does not
work for imported data. Format can be defined during import process."

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101512] New: Setting to Turn On/Off Formula Tips

2016-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101512

Bug ID: 101512
Summary: Setting to Turn On/Off Formula Tips
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bruceh...@gmail.com

Calc version 5.2 includes formula tips (during cell edit mode) that have been
expanded to include a context sensitive explanation of each parameter.

Under 5.1 the tip is:
SUMIFS(sum_range,range 1,criteria 1,range 2,criteria 2,...)

Under 5.2 the tip changes depending on the cursor position:
SUMIFS(sum_range,range 1,criteria 1,range 2,criteria 2,...):The range from wich
the values are to be totalled.
SUMIFS(sum_range,range 1,criteria 1,range 2,criteria 2,...):Range1,range2,...
are the ranges to be evaluated by the criteria given.
SUMIFS(sum_range,range 1,criteria 1,range 2,criteria 2,...):Criteria 1,
criteria 2,... are the criteria to be applied to the ranges given.

This is excellent for new users and perhaps most users but for experienced
users these extended & dynamic tips can be visually distracting.

For tool bar tips the user can choose between standard or extended tips as
follows:
Tools > Options > LibreOffice > General :: Help  Extended Tips = [Y|N]

The enhancement request is to add user choice for formula tips like:
Tools > Options > LibreOffice > General :: Help Formula Tips = [Y|N]
or
Tools > Options > LibreOffice > General ::
Help Formula Tips = [None|Standard|Extended]
(Where Standard means a tip like provided under 5.1)

Potentially, yes, although I don't know whether this is a common practice or
not (LibreOffice is the only application I know of that does this).

> LibreOffice shipping with additional font weights for this particular font

I'm not sure what you mean by "can't even use"? I just tried installing Open
Sans Extra Bold manually and then running LibreOffice, and it seems to work.
(One issue is that it shows up as an additional font instead of an additional
style - i.e., you end up with "Open Sans" and "Open Sans Extrabold" instead of
just "Open Sans" with a new "Extra Bold" style - is that what you mean?)

LibreOffice shipping with additional font weights for this particular font
(ones it can't even use) wouldn't take care of this underlying issue.

2016-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90937

--- Comment #10 from Yousuf (Jay) Philips ---
This is a status update:

Moggi said to me a few months ago that he doesnt have time to implement this
feature within Orcus, which would then make the feature available within Calc,
so he had setup a GSoC idea for the work which he would mentor if a student
took up the task.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101415] FILESAVE FILEOPEN CSV linebreaks in LINUX

2016-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101415

Sorry, first I should say, that the main reason for my posting of this report
was more a feature request than a bug report.

I thought the reason for my problem were the different linebreaks in Windows
and Linux. They aren't, as I know now. I didn't recognize the problem on my old
Windows machine yet. But while creating the testfile for this report, I tried
it on both machines with the same result. My fault was the wrong setting of the
text delimiter (single or double quotes).

But it seems, as there is another problem. LO stores the last settings in the
textimport window. That's nice and should remain this way. But the preview
sometimes shows a wrong result. I created 2 almost identical csv-files. One
with single quotes as text delimiter, one with double quotes. Field delimiter
of both is semicolon.

Content of the file "text_delimiter_double_quote.csv":
"CellA1_line1[LF]CellA1_line2";CellB1[LF]
CellA2;CellB2[LF]

The other file similar, but with single quotes.

I opened both alternating. For example with the former setting to single quotes
I opened the file with the double quotes. The preview in the textimport window
was wrong. It showed the decided import but the cell A1 became broken. See the
attached screenshot. Now as I know this, I can work around it by clicking any
setting so the preview shows what I'll get.

Anyway - my real problem is, that a certain program I use makes csv-outputs
with not correct text delimiters. In this case, I think, a new option of
setting the various linebreaks could be helpful.

I agree with comment #3, sometimes my file names are the same but for different

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101510] New: Installing an incomplete set of fonts causes issues in Google Chrome

2016-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101510

Bug ID: 101510
Summary: Installing an incomplete set of fonts causes issues in
Google Chrome
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: e...@siliconforks.com

LibreOffice installs Open Sans Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic; however,
it does not install Light, Light Italic, Semi-Bold, Semi-Bold Italic,
Extra-Bold, and Extra-Bold Italic. See the complete list here:

https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Open+Sans

Installing an incomplete set of fonts like this actually causes issues in
Google Chrome: Google Chrome will prefer to use the locally installed font
instead of a webfont, even if the font weight is not available locally. For
example, suppose a web page tries to display Open Sans Semi-Bold (font-weight:
600) with a webfont; Chrome will instead use the locally installed Open Sans
Bold (font-weight: 700), even though it is not really the correct weight and
there is a webfont with the correct weight available.

See the corresponding bug report for Chrome here (marked WontFix):

Hmmm, not sure if I understand correctly what you mean, but it seems that you
did not define the language in the paragraph or character style. I often write
text mixing French and English and I do not have problem with the spell
checking which uses the appropriate dictionaries (base language + specialized
dictionaries in this language) for each word.

OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Reporter: mark_t2...@outlook.com

Created attachment 126819
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126819=edit
Example incorrect date category labels

If a line chart is created from data in columns where a date category column is
in descending order then the category labels in the chart will be incorrectly
assigned to the data points.

Same occurs even when category labels are not displayed, after double click in
chart for edit mode, hovering over the data points shows incorrect category
date and also shows incorrect data value.

Reverse direction of scale does not correct the problem.

Attached example of incorrect and correct date category labels.

headings.
So I think that helps you a lot..
It is build for bug 32364

Therefore I think/hope it's fair to close this issue. If you don't agree,

2016-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I have nearly the same probleme in 5.0.3.2 put with ppt/pot Files from
PowerPoint 2003 and these Problems can occur in the same Presentation, when
coping or duplicating slides, often not the correct ones are copied/duplicated!
I have seen this issue in different Versions of LibreOffice the last two years.

Thanks for the explanations, Aron.
My friend with 1024x600 notebook has the same problems
(https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126818).
They are really serious, but all we can do is to hope that developers have
their attention of them, and it saddens.

I would've added backport request to 5.1, but couldn't reproduce the crash

and is fixed in the current version (there's only going to be one more release
in the 5.1 branch, anyway).

The aspect ratio of the "Format Cells" window in version 5.1 (and earlier) was
approximately 1.33:1 but in version 5.2 the aspect ratio is approximately 2:1
which is unnaturally wide (oversized) for the content as included and organized
in this window. The prior aspect ratio seems a better choice.

I guess you are not using it as you use Xfce. But you can launch with

It would be interesting to know, if Xfce 4.12 shows the same symptoms.

Good idea!

Unfortunately I have to admit that I interpreted the result of my
drag-and-drop-test wrong: After copying an equation from wxMaxima to
libreoffice the document contains an equation. But it contains this equation as
a bitmap, not as an equation object => libreoffice didn't request the MathML
from the clip board, but requested to render the equation as a bitmap instead
=> re-opening this feature request.

I am seeing now that, from the tools menu, the options dialog items (user data,

disappear randomly. However, Libreoffice 5.1 works fine.

2016-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 101474
Summary: PDF-Export increased vs. 5.0.1.2 portable
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ial_2...@yahoo.de

Hello,

when switching from LO 5.0.1.2 to LO 5.2.0.4 I've realized that the pdf export
of files has considerably inceased (ODT-file size: about 15MB, lots of
pictures; PDF export with LO 5.0.1.2: 1.6MB; PDF export with LO 5.2.0.4: 8MB)
Settings for export were identical in both versions: 70% compression for the
jpgs and reduction to 150dpi. I assume it is nothing related to the fact that
both are portable versions of LO. Anyway, there is this remarkable difference.
Would be great if someone could check this, please. Thanks in advance

With best regards, Wolfgang

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101473] New: [EDITING] Function wizard crashes LibO when evaluating addin that implement XVolatileResult

2016-08-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101473

Bug ID: 101473
Summary: [EDITING] Function wizard crashes LibO when evaluating
addin that implement XVolatileResult
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jeanmarczam...@gmail.com

Created attachment 126781
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126781=edit
ExampleAddin compiled from LibreOffice SDK

When using a custom function (addin) that implements XVolatileResult, all goes
right within the classic UI interface, but LibreOffice crashes if one uses the
function in the Function wizard.

Steps to reproduce :
- compile and install the ExampleAddin available with the SDK (see attachment)
- open the ExampleAddin.ods file within the same folder in the SDK
- select cell B4 where the COUNTER() function is entered
- open the function wizard -> LibO crashes

or (with the same extension installed :

- open a new calc document
- open the function wizard
- choose the COUNTER() function and enter a name
- LibO crashes as soon as the closing quote is typed in.

The crashes occure with other addins implementing XVolatileResult : the one I'm
currently working on (see
https://forum.openoffice.org/fr/forum/viewtopic.php?p=281123#p281123) and a
third one a found digging around : Obba.oxt
(http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/obba).

As I said, all goes find within the UI classic interface.
OpenOffice does not crash.

Tested on 64bit Linux et Windows systems, with LibO 5.1 and 5.2.

[As you see I'm not an English native speaker. Please forgive any mistake.]

Bug ID: 101472
Summary: UI glitches in formula editor
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Formula Editor

Created attachment 126780

Video

Please download, extract* and view the attached movie.

It shows 2 issues:

1.
The mouse over effect (gray background) does not vanish when moving the mouse
out of the sidebar.

2.
When closing and opening the sidebar the content is not displayed properly. The
user has to click once on a button to restore the display.

(You can extract this heavily compressed (160 MB -> 120 kb) xz file using
7-zip.org or peazip.org.)

(Found in 5.2.0.4 Windows build and 5.2.0.4 Linux build.)

Since there is no specific commit fixing this issue, setting to WORKSFORME.
FIXED is used only when a commit exists.

Feel free to reopen this issue if you still can reproduce this particular
problem or if I did miss something peculiar.

It is not surprising, that you cannot cannot reproduce under Linux with a home
built alpha. This is a Windows issue in a release candidate.
I suspect, but cannot confirm, this may in some way be related to Bug 100809.

Dear Jean-Baptiste,

I am using Ubuntu 16.04 with the Unity desktop.

I don't think I have ever changed any of the default theme settings.

The command:

gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme

returns "Ambiance" and not "Radiance".

What is Ubuntu 16.04's default theme?

Thankfully,

~Robert

I just have found
https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/murrays/2013/05/27/mathml-on-the-windows-clipboard/:

The clipboard can offer the data in several formats. MS Office looks if one of
these formats claims to be "MathML Presentation" and if this is true it creates
an equation => The next release of wxMaxima (which is due in a month or so)
will offer equations as text and "MathML Presentation" as this looks like it
could be a canonical way to do so. Don't know how hard this would be to add to
libreOffice.
