Hm, there was a bug like this, caused by Calc's Software Interpreter, but that
should be fixed since v5.2.0.2 and v5.1.5.
Can you confirm you are indeed using v5.2.0.4, and also check what happens if
you follow step 4 from [1]? (checkboxes to enable/disable OpenCL and Software
Interpreter are next to each other)

If your version is 5.2.0.4, please create a sample spreadsheet (let's say, by
clearing out all the irrelevant cells in the existing sheet), and attach it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46817] Screen font anti-aliasing does not work (Windows)

2016-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46817

I am on Windows 10 x86_64 and I just updated from LibreOffice 4.4.4 to 5.2.0.4,
and the font rendering of the menus started looking quite bad (but still
readable). Since no one has presented the solution in a clear and concise
manner, I'll try.

SOLUTION: In the Tools menu, select Options. Expand the LibreOffice category
and select View. UNCHECK "Use OpenGL for all rendering" and "Force OpenGL even
if blacklisted". Then CHECK "Use hardware acceleration" and "Use
anti-aliasing.".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101566] New: [I18N] Untranslated button names on the Track changes toolbar

2016-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101566

Bug ID: 101566
Summary: [I18N] Untranslated button names on the Track changes
toolbar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kelem...@ubuntu.com

Created attachment 126863
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126863=edit
Screenshot of the problem in 5.3 master

Enable the Track Changes toolbar in Writer.
Right click on the toolbar, select Visible Buttons. The list of the buttons
appears in English.
These strings are not translatable, see for example:
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/hu/libo_ui/translate/#search=Regular%20Comment=source

These are coming from sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml
and were introduced here:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml?id=bba15935842071289f6fbf9edef409b605254508

I find it interesting that there are no other toolbars using non-default names
with the toolbar:text attribute:

gabor@dome:~/src/core$ find . -path "*toolbar*xml" -print0 | xargs -0 grep
"toolbar\:text"
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
./sw/uiconfig/swriter/toolbar/changes.xml:
gabor@dome:~/src/core$

Maybe it would provide for a consistent UX if we would just drop these button
nicknames altogether.

   What|Removed |Added

   Keywords|difficultyBeginner |difficultyInteresting

--- Comment #31 from Katarina Behrens (CIB) ---
Okay folks, no way this is an easy hack. difficultyInteresting at most and even
that might be an overstatement

It is not possible to "just display a text label" in a toolbar. For adding
something that looks like a text label (but it is a toolbar button in disguise)
you need to

1) create a fake UNO command (officecfg/*/Commands.xcu)- .uno:AVMediaURL or sth
along that line
2) set it up to be text-only (no icon) and have it contain a placeholder text
('no media selected' or sth along that line)
3) add that command to media toolbar
(sd/uiconfig/simpress/toolbar/mediaobjectbar.xml + all the other instances of
that toolbar across all the modules)

(have a look for example at .uno:SearchLabel, that's a text label in search
toolbar, for inspiration)

Next, those things need to be done:

4) When a new media is inserted, the placeholder text needs to be replaced with
real media URL. The code for that is in sd/source/ui/func/fuinsert.cxx,
FuInsertAVMedia class. You somehow need to get hold of the media toolbar, find
the button disguised as text label and change the text on it.

An useful piece of code doing just that (changing text on the label in search
toolbar) is in svx/source/dialog/srchdlg.cxx, maybe you can re-use it

5) The same needs to be done when a media object is selected in a document. I
don't know exactly where code for that is (but maybe someone else does?), I can
however quickly find out once a patch implementing points 1-4 is up for review
;-)

There were very similar bug reports, like bug 94209 and bug 100812, so I'm
closing this as duplicate.
Should be fixed in LibreOffice 5.2.0.4. There's also been an update in the 5.1
branch since then, 5.1.5.2, no one gave feedback about that release, but it
might be worth checking that one out.

So here is a first attempt at a collection of grayscale table styles, so please
give your input on it, primarily the ones you like the most. Colored versions

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99050] Images embedded in Writer document disappear

2016-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99050

Version: 5.1.4.2

I have the same problem. I have done some testing:

1. Inserted PNG images tend to disappear (two of three disappear) upon close
and re-open of document. JPG images do not have this problem, except in 2
below.
However sometimes a minimized bar, like a fat cursor, shows up on re-opening,
when images have disappeared. I believe this is a MINIMIZED instance of the
image I since re-inserted. When I click on it, it shows about six little green
rectangles bunched together, and I delete it. This behavior is true for ODT,
DOCX, RTF.

2. The disappearing images still occurs when saved to RTF format, even with
JPGs.
I like to use RTF as the majority of users can open it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101564] Autocorrect not working

OK, I have found the issue, and this is my error. Under Autocorrect options >
Options tab, the checkbox for "Use replacement table" is unchecked by default.
This seems counterintuitive to me, considering I would think most users who
turn on Autocorrect at all (by **checking the menu option "While typing"**)
would expect that the replacement table would apply to text while typing.

My recommendation is to make the box checked by default.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101564] New: Autocorrect not working

2016-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101564

Bug ID: 101564
   Summary: Autocorrect not working
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mage...@gmail.com

I have tested this issue in a variety of ways, but I cannot get Autocorrect to
do anything. So some things to note:

1) I have verified that Autocorrect is on (while typing is checked).
2) I have verified that the various words I am trying to autocorrect are in the
list of replacements ("i" > "I"; "teh" > "the"; "(r)" > [registered symbol]).
3) I have tried simply applying autocorrect manually through the menu, and
still it does not work.
4) The language of the document matches the language specified in the
Autocorrect dialog.

Any help would be much appreciated.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101563] New: Export to PDF with linked images creates huge PDF files.

2016-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101563

Bug ID: 101563
Summary: Export to PDF with linked images creates huge PDF
files.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pa...@landau.ws

Created attachment 126857
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126857=edit
Sample document and image

SUMMARY

When exporting a document with a linked image to PDF, the resulting PDF file is
huge.

In my tests, it varies between 6 and 10 times larger than required.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Create a document with at least one linked image. (A sample document and
image are provided in the attachment.)

2. Export to PDF using lossless export.

WHAT IS EXPECTED

• The exported PDF should be a size commensurate with the original document and
linked images.

WHAT HAPPENS INSTEAD

• The PDF file is many times larger.

• In my tests, PDF files are between 6 and 10 times larger than from previous
LibreOffice versions.

• In the attached sample, the PDF for previous versions is consistent at 2.1
Mb, but from version 5.2.0 it is ten times larger at 21 Mb.

MORE INFORMATION

• Tested on versions 5.0.6, 5.1.4, 5.1.5 and 5.2.0.
  — Versions 5.0.6, 5.1.4 and 5.1.5 all work correctly.
  — Version 5.2.0 has this bug.

• This is a regression, which used to happen a long time ago but was fixed. I
haven't tested on versions prior to 5.0.6 because I don't know how to obtain
those older versions.

• This might seem minor, but it is significant when the resulting PDF file
greatly exceeds 100 Mb (instead of the expected 20 Mb), the PDF file is a
website download, and there are many PDF files.

• An expected workaround might be to use embedded images instead of linked
images, but that is not a sensible option when the images can change.

So this is apparently a problem with docx (and probably similar formats) only,
not with odt.

I'll keep testing and report back if I can still cause the issue in any other

I encountered the same bug with LibreOffice 5.1.4.2 and Ubuntu 16.04 (upgraded
from 14.04).
I found a solution : sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel

Seems linked to a problem I encountered when upgrading to 16.04 :
http://askubuntu.com/questions/760825/cannot-boot-system-due-to-start-job-running-for-hold

I hope it helps !
Regards.

Example of date cell with date format

Steps to reproduce:

1/ Open Example, cell A1 contains date 11/05/2016 but is of type 'Text'
2/ Go to format cell and select date (DD/MM/)
3/ Result is cell has format date, but now contains '11/05/2016 and wasn't
converted to date

Expected result would be to have 11/05/2016 converted as a real date (without
')

Issue happens on a regular basis, conversion of text to date is useful to fix
documents that use date calculations on text cells that LibreOffice won't
calculate as date.

unfortunatly it is not longer possible to reach frame options via menu-entry.
should be redesigned - add it to Menü "format"

Do the following:

- open a new writer document
- create a (text-) frame: menu insert - frame - frame interactive
- draw the frame
- select the frame - and now try to enter the property-dialog

Only possible via kontextmenu (object...) - there is no menu-entry. the sidebar
shows just two options - and open different dialogs.

the toolbar do not have a (visible) icon for properties.

In version LO 5.1.x and prior there was all teh time a menu-entry "properties"
or "options" which open the options dialog.
Now this entry is missing.

please redesign!

If you add an audio or video clip into a presentation, you may only want to
playback a particular segment of it and not the entire thing during the
slideshow, so it would be useful to have the ability to do set these. Otherwise
a user would have to use a video editor to crop out the segment they wanted
played.

Looking at the ODF format, we could add a
and to the media's tag.

I agree, except that many other installers attempt to restart explorer.exe at
the end of the installation process. For example, the installers of
cloud/encryption services like SpiderOak or BoxCryptor, which also need to
close explorer during installation, do exactly that. If there are still
scenarios in which the current LibreOffice version's installer needs to close
explorer.exe, than that would be a welcome functionality for non-tech savvy
users, as many of them do not know how to start explorer.exe manually when
their task bar and start menu have disappeared.

When files are opened there is no associated tab on the task bar. I am using
Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon. While composing this bug report I have tested and note
that the task bar tabs are also missing in Writer. If multiple files are open
I must move front windows to get to back windows. It may not be a bug but
multiple files now open directly over one another as opposed to offset from one
another.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a file in Calc or Writer
2.
3.

Expected Results:
Task bar tab for each open file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69066] Upgrading LO requires user to terminate Explorer.exe on Windows because of LO Explorer /Shell extensions (Workaround: comment 12)

2016-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69066

Came across this after a mention in IRC.

I've some substantial experience as a system administrator in an company that
uses Windows desktops. I had countless installs/upgrades/uninstalls of MSIs and
non-MSI installer.

And I must say that there is only **one** comment here that marks some possible
problem. That's comment 2, that says that

> If you tell it to ignore it, it will not proceed until you close it.
> I had to go to task manager and kill explorer.exe to finish installing

That's really strange.
Otherwise, the MSI-based installer telling you that Explorer.exe is using a
resource, and should be closed to avoid restart, is perfectly OK. MSI
technology in made to do that. And it's OK for explorer.exe to use LO shell
extension DLL - and there's no way to unload it other than close explorer.exe.

Normal sequence is this:
installer detects a busy resource; it tries to find a process that holds it
busy; (some installers also look for windows with some pre-defined strings,
thus firing false positives); if it finds one, it asks to close it, and warns
that otherwise a reboot required. If user agrees to close it, the process
closes and install continues normally, replacing the previously-busy DLL.
If user disagrees, then the new DLL is copied to a temporary place to be
replaced at reboot; and after the installation finishes, it asks for reboot.

The problems that are discussed here must be as follows: (1) if the installer
is UNABLE to continue without closing explorer.exe; and (2) if it is UNABLE to
close explorer.exe when told so.

If these two cases do happen, then they should really must be debugged and
fixed. Otherwise, if the described normal behaviour takes place, then it is not
anyone's bug.

First, go to Tools -> Customize, lick on the Add... button directly (in Menus
tab), add "Notebookbar" item from View category.
Second, activate Notebookbar from menu bar then click "Close" or "Exit
LibreOffice Dev".
Third, Open LO Writer, Calc or Impress, they does not displaying NotebookBar
directly, click "View" menu instead (I added "Notebookbar" item in View menu).

BTW the "Notebookbar" item does not have check box even if I activate it.

Adding Miklos to the CC, based on the commit details below.
Miklos, I understand this is not particularly useful, because the commit only
enables wps. Anyway, please take a look and see if it's enough of a hint or
not.

DOCX import: declare wps as a supported feature

This means in case we hit an mc:AlternateContent element, we will read
the mc:Choice branch of it, in case wps is the required feature, not
the
mc:Fallback one, which contains the information in VML format (after a
lossy conversion).

In Windows 10, when I click on the "Emojis" button, Writer instantly crashes.
Has this been tested on OS X and Windows?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101549] New: Removal of tooltip_markup properties from glade ui files

2016-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101549

Bug ID: 101549
Summary: Removal of tooltip_markup properties from glade ui
files
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
CC: bu...@bubli.org, caol...@redhat.com,
s.mehrbr...@gmail.com

So i noticed a number of glade .ui files that have tooltip_text and
tooltip_markup both set and both set to be translated and think tooltip_markup
should be removed to reduce translation burdens and because it has the exact
same text as tooltip_text.

Here are some of the files that are affected

svx/uiconfig/ui/sidebarpossize.ui
svx/uiconfig/ui/sidebararea.ui
sw/uiconfig/swriter/ui/tocentriespage.ui
sw/uiconfig/swriter/ui/sidebarwrap.ui
fpicker/uiconfig/ui/remotefilesdialog.ui
sc/uiconfig/scalc/ui/headerfootercontent.ui

I'd suggest we have a simple script which would search through .ui files for
tooltip_markup and remove those lines.
