All controls in the dialog have borders except the thumbnail view control, so a

(In reply to Alex ARNAUD from comment #4)
> - All buttons are exposed as "push button". A "push button" is for a

> only the "settings" button should be a "push button"

Unfortunately Ora says "push button" for 3 variants of buttons (regular, spit
and group), while NVDA called the settings button a drop down button.

> - The settings push button doesn't allow to use enter key or space
> bar to activate it. It's not logic for blind or partially sighted people to
> press down arrow key to activate a push button.

This is a separate issue, so i've reported it in another bug (bug 101869).

> - The two lists to filter the content are not bound to a label, so
> It's not understandable at first time. The lists should be inside a
> panel named "filter" or something like that.

Patch submitted for those controls as well as one for the template list

Unfortunately, scratch what I said, the reporter opened another report that the
issue's back. I'll be following up with them to see if there's any chance to
have this bug reliably reproduced.

I'm sorry to hear the issue is back. Someone else has been struggling with a
very similar issue. Eventually one of the reports will be closed as duplicate
to avoid having multiple reports on the same issue (when there's a chance to
fix it), until then, could you give some details on the bug's occurrence?
Your report indicates it comes up somewhat randomly, is there any chance to
have reliable reproduction steps that cause the error for you?

I'm afraid I have to keep asking questions until we're able to reproduce this
bug.
Please also share your Windows version, and whether you're using 32- or 64-bit
LibreOffice.

This is no doubt causing a lot of inconvenience for you, in the meantime you
can install and use older LibreOffice versions as described in [1],
downloadable from [2].

Raising severity to critical, since the issue causes data loss.

The culprit is this commit:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=8cfdd81b70ef37927b40497ffd10034f28335034

These two complex SVG files:
- flat_logo.svg (794 KB vs nothing)
- about.svg (676 KB vs 15 KB)
are the ones that slow down the About dialog. Removing them fixes the problem.

Either we use simpler SVG files or PNG files (like for the splash screen).

Adding bisected, regression and topicUI keywords.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101868] New: Can't copy and paste from LibreOffice once it is closed

2016-09-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101868

Bug ID: 101868
Summary: Can't copy and paste from LibreOffice once it is
closed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: cooks.go.hun...@gmail.com

I have found recently that if I copy some text for example from any of the
LibreOffice programs, that if I then paste it into another program outside of
that suite then it pastes it fine. But if I then close LibreOffice then trying
to paste the text does nothing, so closing LibreOffice also gets rid of the
contents in the clipboard from it which is not ideal.

I am running Ubuntu GNOME 16.04.1 with GNOME 3.20 and LibreOffice version
"5.1.4.2 10m0(Build:2)" (the latest version available from the official Ubuntu
repositories).

I initially reported this issue here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1619814 However I
thought I should also do so upstream.

Is there a chance you could attach the file here? (if it doesn't contain any
personal/sensitive information)

What's the history of this file? Was it working fine until now, and this
behavior started after some recent changes?

If you could attach a backtrace, that could also offer some hints, the way to
get it is described in [1].
The most helpful would certainly be the document itself. Unfortunately there's
a chance it might be corrupt, but nothing certain can be said at this point.

But before anything else, please go through the steps in [2], in particular
steps 2 and 3 (4 isn't applicable). Even if the chance they help is slim, it's
the easiest to do.

Hello,

I can confirm this bug with Libreoffice 5.2.0 (from libreoffice.org) on Mageia
5.

The symptoms are the same and the test with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen doesn't
produce the bug. Reproductible with the file attached to this bug or a file
I've got on my computer (can attach it if it would help).

In my case, the bug appears if I don't have the fonts used by the document
(e.g. calibri) and I try to change it.

I can also reproduce with libreoffice 5.2.0 x86_64 on Mageia 6 (in development)
using the file attached.

LibreOffice 5.2.0 x86_64

Mageia 5
lib64gtk+3_0-3.14.8-5.1.mga5
lib64gtk+2.0_0-2.24.26-3.mga5

Mageia 6
lib64gtk+3_0-3.20.9-1.mga6
lib64gtk+2.0_0-2.24.30-1.mga6

Let me know if you need more information.
regards
Julien

Cmd-Shift-4 doesn't make any crosshair appear for me.
(I suppose these:
"Cmd" is the key to the left of space bar
"Shift" is the key above "fn" key (left bottom corner)
)
I supposed I missed something but I don't know what since shortcuts config
(from Spotlight) shows it.

the length of your last post, assumes volunteers have insane amounts of time at

assuming otherwise of a very thin QA team is highly unconstructive.

also this is not a help desk or discussion round but a bug tracker and with

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100819] Can't save my file

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100819

Aron: Thanks again.

My wife created some .odf files, which came out fine. I also restarted my
computer, in case that was the problem. But the next time I opened LibreOffice,
my file was seriously corrupted: it seems none of the formatting is rendered,
although the text seems to be intact.

Next, I read your email and downloaded and installed 5.2.1.2 as you suggested.
Now my file is still corrupted, but I have another, slightly older version of
the file, which is OK, and can be saved -- for now, at least.

I have to try to find what I changed in the almost unreadable version, and put
that into the older one. Not fun!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101847] Formatting in presentation saved as .pptx - multiple incompatible alignment

2016-09-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101847

--- Comment #5 from jimrussell98...@gmail.com ---
See discussion following bug 101847, which as you'll see seems to be
prematurely closed.

At the closer's recommendation, I installed the latest "release" of
LibreOffice, which your site identifies as "Fresh" (I have preferred to remain
on more stable "Still" releases (I'm currently on 5.1.4.2), which, when queried
with Help-Check for Updates says it is up to date). On opening (sometimes and
not others), it complained that "LibreOffice requires a Java runtime
environment (JRE) to perform this task. The selected JRE is defective. Please
select another ...". Following its instructions, it finds none to choose from.

Next I wandered into a morass of non-LibreOffice instructions (LibreOffice did
not explain how to get a new, working JRE), wading through stuff about Java,
JavaDB, JDK, Java SE and finally finding an obscure link about JRE. There's a
bunch of warnings complaining about how Oracle and Apple don't get along.
Finally, I find and download the apparently latest JRE. When I run its
installer (for 1.8.1.1.13), I get a notification that I have an even more
recent version (1.8.102.14) already installed, and that I shouldn't go
backwards. Neither "Fresh" nor "Still" detects this JRE (installed to satisfy
some other application, if I recall correctly).

"Fresh" opens anyway when I close the JRE Defective dialog. The bug reported at
101847 remains (see attachment).

If I now run "Still" on my computer, it complains (sometimes) about JRE being
defective as well. Like "Fresh" it then goes on to open anyway (no hint by
either about what "this task" is). I've selected to turn off JRE in LibreOffice
(Preferences-Advanced, uncheck the box). Now on opening LibreOffice I get
"Enable JRE? LibreOffice requires a Java runtime enfironment (JRE) to perform
this task...". Still no explanation of what "this task" is, and (again apart
from this rather obscure bug under Impress Format) LibreOffice appears to work
fine.

This is all very confusing and unsatisfying. It's not like I haven't tried.

I should not have to be a Java expert to figure out how to run LibreOffice.

  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.106 Safari/537.36
Build Identifier: LibreOffice 5.2.0.4

Calc starts fine but performance is very slow during loading a .csv or .ods
file and also very sluggish after loading the file and during any manipulation
at all, including scrolling vertically or horzontally. Loading the same exact
files in v5.1.0.3 does not produce this sluggish effect. Tried different
character sets with no change. Remove column one at a time and found no
difference in speed. I can send a steriized copy of this file for examination.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Load file
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Sluggish performance in 5.2.0.4 but normal in 5.1.0.3.
Scrolling just a few lines causes the lines to scroll at a rate of about 1
line/sec so scrolling a page of data could take over 30 seconds. No delay
takes place when using v5.1.0.3.

I like it in context menu too. It is not only shorter, but in addition it has
no unique place now: Writer and Impress->Format menu; Draw->Modify menu;
Calc->context menu.

Customizing the context menu is not really an option, because you have to do it
in each module and for each kind of object.

It is a bug for me - I prefer to have the entry present in context menu and I
disagree that the status quo would be a better UX.

Then again, I seem to be the only one, so maybe someone else who is convinced
this is NOTABUG can close it accordingly

Thanks for pointing to this report, Timur.
In bug 101818 Marco brought up MS's variant of this (see sketch at [1]), and I
argued for having a novice/expert view of the dialog, one would be
straightforward and convenient to use even for new users, and the other would
show all the choices the Paste Special dialog currently has (wording should
still be improved there of course).

> 4) Double click LO icon. (no LangPack installed yet)

I have experienced this behaviour once, but from memory I got around the
problem, by deleting everything, including my user profile, and re-installing.

Instead of double-clicking in step 4 above, I opened the Applications folder,
and right mouse button clicked and chose Open. I honestly can't say whether
this will solve the problem for you, but it did for me, however we are running
different versions of OSX, so maybe there is an extra spanner in the works
there.

I have seen another report on BZ that is very similar to yours, it is also in
NEEDINFO status, but the person hasn't responded yet. Let me see if I can find
it again.

Had another look at this one and it suspiciously looks looks a rounding error.
Pushed the numbers through the medcalc website and compared it with Calc. The

15 digits after the decimal point. I've increased the precision each time from
0.9 to 0.999. Everything seems in order until we get to the last

Actually, on testing with LO3.3.0, the display was far less affected than in
today's versions of LO, see screenshot.

In the screenshot, at maximum zoom, one can still see traces of black glyph
outline, but they are much thinner and almost invisible, certainly not as huge
with current release versions.

Pleas don't. Personally, I couldn't care less about DOC/DOCX formats, but I am
strongly interested in native ODT being able to do what Word has been capable
of for decades. Even besides the pure compatibility issue, there is enough
reason to enable Writer to natively add the missing feature (see original
description or comment 8 for example).

And still, if you don't want the border spacing on a specific edge, you'll
always be able to explicitly set it to zero (which has always been the default
setting anyway).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101862] New: Custom Shapes Creation tedious

2016-09-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101862

Bug ID: 101862
   Summary: Custom Shapes Creation tedious
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: d_...@ymail.com

USER STORY: As an advanced user, I want to create custom shapes shapes to
efficiently create drawings (and/or share them with others)

CURRENT BEHAVIOR: Creation of custom shapes demands to

1. unzip an odg
2. edit the content.xml
3. zip odg.
4. open the odg

For getting feedback on each change. This is rather tedious, in particular when
learning to create shapes and or if minor visual adjustments are needed.

Although custom shapes will only be created by a fraction of users, they can be
used by many and can strengthen the ecosystem (some drawing/diagramming
applications do have many useful libraries to use for special usecases, e.g.
electronics, planning networks or UI wireframing)

POSSIBLE IMPROVED BEHAVIOR:

* One could expose the content.xml source and allow this to be edited, much
like an HTML can be edited in Browser’s dev tools
* Make reloading a file easier (to get around closing Draw, reopening)
* Make accessing the content.xml easier (to get around the zip/unzip part)

Since it will only make sense for some users, these functions could be enabled
via some sort of dev-mode or an extension.

And I'd still point out my suggestions in comment 6. Even if the crash isn't
graphics-related, having a backtrace would be useful.

In the documentation article itself, there is a line which ends with MediaWiki
markup but a newline is missing. The title is thus not applied correctly to the
rendered version of the article.

Attach the hyperlink crash document ASAP.

Not even commercial software customer support could troubleshoot such a case
