You can just disable for safety’s sake. If it loads without prompting about macros, click on a button and see the bug’s error message. The message in this case: "LibreOfficeDev requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. Please install a JRE and restart LibreOfficeDev." Issue goes back to 5.0.0.5, while JRE is automatically selected in 4.4.0.3, so indeed this is a regression (and bug 101057 didn't affect all OSes). Since, though it has to be selected manually (the warning message is confusing), Java ultimately seems to work, reducing importance. Dheif: LibreOffice and JRE/JDK has to be either both 64-bit or 32-bit. If they are mixed 64/32-bit, then LibreOffice won't see Java, that is normal. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103507] LibO Base doesn't work with this Java 8 update 111
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103507 --- Comment #12 from Aron Budea--- Dheif, you see two Java installations because you have JDK and JRE installed, and each has its runtime environment. This is not an issue. Stephan: Indeed, I checked now, and could get Java 8u112 to work after selecting Java, probably restart was needed. I didn't test in detail, but went back to 8u92 to test wit that. Results with 8u92 (all in Windows 7, with cleared profile): -5.2.0.4, 5.2.2.2, 5.3 alpha1: After opening a database and switching to Tables view, there's the error: "LibreOffice requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. The selected JRE is defective. Please select another version or install a new JRE and select it under Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Advanced." (then another that connection to the data source could not be established) Upon second start there's no error when opening a database. Even if the first start was only the Start Center and nothing Base-related, there's no error upon second start. -5.1.5.2: No error message upon opening a database with a clean profile. Debugging revealed that for this Java version (8u92) on the first attempt jfw_startVM(...) call returns with JFW_E_VM_CREATION_FAILED: http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/stoc/source/javavm/javavm.cxx#758 So this issue seems to be different than with the newer Java version (code doesn't even go to the same place in sunjavaplugin.cxx as in the other case). It's also a regression. Priority is low. Next step: upgrade to Java 8u112 again, and test in detail with that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

The WinLayout fallback seems to be making reasonable font selections--Mono spaced for Courier, a Serif font, and a Sans Serif respectively. Unfortunately we have no way to determine exactly the font being substituted. But the Tools -> Options -> Fonts: font table substitution can be used to manually select the replacement font to be used. The Special Character dialog also is ignoring the system installed fonts. With common layout, the dialog is offering system font Segoe UI as the replacement font as the edit cursor is positioned into on a word with the "not installed" font [1]. =-Note-= [1]. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100994] Freeze / Crash on first action after launch on macOS 10.12 Sierra with Display color space not 'default' (macOS only)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100994 --- Comment #117 from Luca Aluffi--- It's weird and I have to report it again. I've fired up my test drive where there is macOS sierra 10.12.1 and, because a couple of months ago's experiments, a Libre Office Vanilla 5.2.1.2. The crash does not occurs, the GPU used is still the integrated one and not the discrete. What I would like to point again is that (in my case at least) the crash under Sierra started to occur AFTER the update of LIBREOFFICE and not after the operating system itself. Sequence has been: 1) El capitan + Libreoffice: everything fine and no discrete gpu triggering; 2) Sierra UPDATED and Libreoffice untouched: everything fine and no discrete gpu triggering; 3) Sierra untouched and Libreoffice UPDATE: crash started to occur. All crashes happened even restoring old libreoffice version from Time Machine or rsync backup. I am not fond with the install script process, but maybe it triggers something which ruins all. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103515] Assertion failed: SolarMutex not locked when opening database with Base
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103515 Michael Meekschanged: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #2 from Michael Meeks --- Well - the code indeed looks problematic. The issue is that I added this warning - since the scheduler code is clearly not thread safe, and requires the SolarMutex - or somesuch to be locked in order to manipulate its structures. Of course - the timer and idle logic is also really the obvious way to inject events into the main-loop by people who don't want to hold the solar mutex. So - quite probably we should introduce a custom lock into the VCL scheduler and audit it rather carefully for concurrency issues. Clearly we want to hold the solar mutex over any timer / idle callbacks - but at least pushing events in there could be improved. For now - I guess, we could hold the SolarMutex in the AutoRecovery code to avoid it intermittently corrupting the scheduler's data structures [ not an ideal outcome ], its the easy fix - but not so satisfying. Aaron - interested in making the VCL scheduler (+timer+idle+auto-timer) thread-safe ? hopefully an easy "code-lock" style pattern there (?) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
