Comparing with the next attachment, I suppose that the issue isn't wrong scale,
but some clipping of properly scaled and positioned glyph

Writer crashes when trying to save a large .docx file (originally 28 MB)
originally created in Abiword with about 10 high-resolution photos that I was
in the process of compressing. There were no problems with the compression
process, but when I try to save, LibreOffice crashes with the LibreOffice
Document Recovery message. The document recovery process works perfectly, but
saving the results in the same format is not possible, even as a new file. It
is possible to save as a .odt file, but the same problem occurs when saving the
.odt file as a .docx file. (Saving as a .doc file works, though.)

I downloaded ver 5.1.6.2 - same result.
However - I noted that some similar pics inserted OK. I examined the
differences and found the offending pic was modified with Photoshop to 600dpi.
Other pics modified by Photoshop to 300dpi inserted OK
LibreOffice seems sensitive to the photo resolution.
Any comments about where the parameters may lie between success and failure?
Thanks for input

Bug 54052 suggests another way to address the inconsistency in Calc that 'File

Print' sends to the printer the selected sheets by default. This inconsistency
is somewhat annoying and unexpected.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103633] New: segfault when Form Design Mode is enabled

2016-11-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103633

Bug ID: 103633
Summary: segfault when Form Design Mode is enabled
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Description:
When the attached spreadsheet is loaded, entering Form Design Mode immediately
crashes Libre Office. Running with --backtrace shows a segfault in
accessibility::AccessibleControlShape::modeChanged (full trace attached).

The crash does not happen with other, less-complicated spreadsheets.

The crash happens even with macros DISABLED. So it is some static state in
this spreadsheet which tickles the bug.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load attached test spreadsheet
2. DISABLE macros when prompted
3.  View->Toolbars->Form Design
4. Click the left-most icon on the Form Design toolbar (enters Design Mode)

Actual Results:
Immediate crash

Expected Results:
No crash

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Note: This same spreadsheet provokes a seemingly-unrelated segfault, reported
in bug 103632. That other bug happens when a macro sorts the spreadsheet.
But maybe there is something about this .ods file which makes LO randomly
corrupt memory or in some other way cause different segfaults to happen later.

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jim.av...@gmail.com

Description:
After some macro code runs (which I can't pin down), sort segfaults.

Unfortunatly the unknown precursor operations are in BASIC macro code, so you
have to enable macros to reproduce the problem. I could not repro the crash
doing a "manual" sort which seems equivalent to what the macro code is doing.

Fortunately I have a test case which causes the segfault every time with a
single button click.

In any case, LO should never segfault, even if BASIC macros are mis-coded.

I'll attach the gdb backtrace from running with --backtrace. It starts with
this:

Thread 1 "soffice.bin" received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0x7fffb11852ae in

#3  0x7fffb12fa22a in ScTable::Sort(ScSortParam const&, bool, bool,
ScProgress*, sc::ReorderParam*) () from program/libsclo.so

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LO on the attached test.ods.

2. [if necessary] Tools->Options->LibreOffice->Security->Macro Security... set
to "Medium" and restart.

3. Enable macro execution when prompted.

4. Click the "MO, TV%" button in the top middle (near column P or Q). This is
supposed to sort the sheet by Month and then TV%

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103631] New: FORMATTING: Text doesn' t behave according to style definition

2016-11-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103631

Bug ID: 103631
Summary: FORMATTING: Text doesn't behave according to style
definition
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jbeauwal...@gmail.com

Behaviour: Text in document shows first line with hanging indent of some 1cm.
Style is 'Text body', but 'Text body' style does not have a hanging indent so I
cannot just change it. Double-clicking the style (to impose 'Text body' on the
paragraph) produces same result. Default style has same result. Where could
this indent be coming from?

Background: This began to happen after I'd been trying LO5 for a few weeks. I
notice that the "CV" template is selected for this document, which is wrong.

Hmm. Notice that this document is saved in .docx format. Will fiddle around
with this and see if it changes anything. Still seems to be a bug but will

Capitalize first letter of every sentence. Now I can write sentences without
autocapitalization.

Maybe I will try on Windows before closing this as worksforme.

Modified ots

Seems the source of the issue it's a image in D39, that looks like an image of
a hyperlink url in vertical.

Deleting it, and saved as ots, open just fine.

So I think the problem is why LibreOffice it's so slow managing that image.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103629] New: NTFS junctions cannot be used in Java Options

2016-11-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103629

Bug ID: 103629
Summary: NTFS junctions cannot be used in Java Options
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jyrki.hof...@gmail.com

Description:
It is possible to add a path to JRE in the Java Options dialog. However, if the
path contains a NTFS junction, an error is displayed instead.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Options->Advanced
2. Click add
3. Choose a path to the JRE containing a NTFS junction

Actual Results:
Error: "The folder you selected does not contain a Java runtime environment.
Please select a different folder.

Expected Results:
The chosen jre folder is added into a list.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Please, note that the NTFS junction links can be created by the command:
mklink /J link target

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 97904] gtk3 / odd behavior of Opengl options in Tools->Options-> Libreoffice->View

2016-11-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97904

--- Comment #9 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com ---
Yet, the issue is present in the 5.2.3.3 linux build.

I still see:

- a tickable (non disabled) option to use opengl for all rendering
- another tickable (non disabled) option to force opengl even if blacklisted

followed by a notice that opengl is disabled even when the two things above are
ticked.

This is totally cosmetic, and has zero effect on the actual usability of LibO,
so I feel silly in reporting it again. At the same time I witness that it
misleads users into thinking that there may be something wrong in their
hardware/video drivers or libreoffice itself.

Should another bug be opened rather than reopening this one?

So ZCodec::ReadAsynchron was wrong in using a persistent
mpIStm after all

The fun thing is that with the (only) call-site to
ReadAsynchron in PNGReaderImpl::ImplReadIDAT
(vcl/source/gdi/pngread.cxx) passing in rIStm references
to stack-allocated SvMemoryStream instances, mpIStm could
point to an old, destroyed instance from a previous call,
but which would have been located at exactly the same
stack address as the currently passed in rIStm, so the
wrong mpIStm->Read call would effectively behaved exactly
the same as a correct rIStm.Read call.

This went unnoticed "since the beginning" until
AddressSanitizer's UseAfterReturn check came along...

I can confirm this with LibreOffice 5.2.2.2.0 from ArchLinux. However I observe
this behaviour on all dropdowns in the UI.

Setting SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk makes them work again. SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3
shows the following warnings in the console after clicking the dropdown:
(soffice:6944): Gdk-WARNING **: Window 0x2dcf960 is already mapped at the time
of grabbing. gdk_seat_grab() should be used to simultanously grab input and
show this popup. You may find oddities ahead.

Menu Tables advertises + to insert a table. However this
key combination has no visible result.

I see this in daily Linux dbgutil bibisect repository version
2016-10-31 and in 43-all bibisect repository version oldest running on
debian-stretch. I thought I remembered this shortcut working once,
but maybe I am dreaming. For comparison, the shortcut does work in
Windows daily built 2016-10-31.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 102916] every word on a line starts at the beginning of the line, Graphite font rendering on Windows

2016-11-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102916

FYI: My system has upgraded to LO 5.2.2.2. The comments below are based on that
version.

Re #13: I first had to go to Tools/Options/Language Settings/Languages, and
check the box for "Complex text layout(CTL)". (Until I did that, the CTL font
didn't show up in the style definition dialogue.) I then had to select a
language, Lao being the closest to what I'm working with. I tried both Lao and
"None".

I then was able to edit the default style, selecting Tai Heritage Pro as my CTL
font. After that, I was able to enter Tai text using the Tai Heritage Pro font,
and it displayed correctly--until I tried to switch to a different CTL font.
For example, I tried using a font called TaiViet, but LO insisted on entering
and displaying the text using Tai Heritage Pro. Likewise when I tried entering
Cham text using the Cham East BinhThuan font. I had to first type the text,
then select it and apply the font. That's hard to do when all you see are
square boxes while you are typing. After that, I couldn't get back to Tai
Heritage Pro without again typing the text first, then selecting the text and
applying the font.

When I select a Roman font, the change is made smoothly. Why does LO have to be
so cranky about changing a CTL font?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103602] new documents fail ODF validation with Error: unexpected attribute "draw:fill"

2016-11-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103602

(In reply to Katarina Behrens (CIB) from comment #3)
> As far as I can see, Format > Page dialog in Writer (Libreoffice 5.1, so the
> old one existing prior to GSoC code merge) offers *all* kinds of fills for a
> page, not only colour and bitmap/image. Does this mean that the other fill
> types have never been saved to ODF and now they are?

The file format error slipped in from LO 4 to LO 5.
Version 4.1 and 4.2 had the old background selection with color and image as
still available in Calc.
Version 4.3 and 4.4 had the item "gradient" added, but that was without any
function.
Version 4.5 had got fill kind "gradient" and "hatching" and the worked, but
they were not written to file, and therefore any gradient or hatching was lost
on save and replaced with a single color fill in LO 4.5.

Writing invalid ODF slipped in after version 4.5 and it is not a problem of
this year GSoC.

The error itself was made in version 4, when adding a new kind of filling,
without considering ODF file format.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103625] New: Calc spontaneously deletes current sheet; recovery-function is set, didnt work - or backup-file is deleted, too... ?

2016-11-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103625

Bug ID: 103625
   Summary: Calc spontaneously deletes current sheet;
recovery-function is set, didnt work - or backup-file
is deleted, too...?
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: md95...@freenet.de

I created a new file in Calc and saved it (name)
While workink with it, I copied that file by ordering: save to (new name),
because I needed a simular file for another customer

I worked a while with the new-created file (new name) and wanted after that to
swtch back to the first file (name) by choosing its (name) in
pull-downn-menue-> ´Windows´ ...

Exact in that moment, when I klicked the (name)-file, this opened and got in
the same step ´wiped´.
I try to say: everything in the spread-sheet got delated; the texts in several
cells as well as the formatting in cell-sizes and -colors. Just the name of
the original file was left ...(name) -wiped empty to a data-Rest-Volume of
6,7 KB .

The simular second one has 158 KB.

The recovery-function ´steps-backwards/forewards´ did not work any more (grey)
Now I do not have any ideas, where the volume of that single file could have
gone to.
After restarting the program libre office did´t offer -as usual- a restoration
of the lost datas... (recovering all 4 minutes)

How could I find out, where the bug is coming from?
Klaus

LibreOffice 5.1 with UI problem - verbose install log.7z

Same issue from 5.0 again with 5.1. Here is also verbose install log.
Apart from fonts issue mentioned here, other problems include non-working "Save
As...", "Save a Copy", "Export" menus.
It may hint to corrupted installation, but why?
