[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105745] New: default table width (0.05) is too thin for printing
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105745 Bug ID: 105745 Summary: default table width (0.05) is too thin for printing Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: lili...@gmail.com Description: Default table width (0.05) is too thin for printing as well as for editing in MS Office. In case of my HP laser printer in the office, you can't see the lines in the tables very well. In case of LibreOffice Calc, spreadsheets opened in MS Office 2007 have borders which are shown as dots (not full line). However, this could be notice when working in LibreOffice Writer or Calc only when printing (both Writer and Calc) and when opening in other alternative programs (Calc -> Excel). So in my opinion this is bed for compatibility. Steps to Reproduce: Writer: 1. Create default table in the Writer and print it Calc: 1. Create default table and format the cells (default borders) 2. Open it in Microsoft Office 2. Actual Results: The table borders are thin for viewing on screen or when printing as the results of default 0.05 pt width size. Expected Results: The table borders should be seen the same as on the screen as well as in other software, so table with should be set to 0.75 pt. SwXTextTables::getByIndex calls SwDoc::GetTableFrameFormatCount, which does a loop over SwDoc::mpTableFrameFormatTable, then it calls SwDoc::GetTableFrameFormat, which does another loop over the array. SwXTextTableStyle::isInUse calls SwXTextTables::getByIndex in a loop for n/2 times on average, where n is # of tables. SwXTextCellStyle::isInUse calls SwXTextTableStyle::isInUse once, and is called once per cell. so we do about n * n/2 * m just to determine if styles are used, that's pretty bad. the SwX*Styles code was apparently added in commit 17f440e7e7f1621edebc58f8be5e85b68ee7dcf4 "GSoC Table Styles, TableStyle isInUse, isUserDefined, mutex fixes" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105732 Bug ID: 105732 Summary: More drawing toolbars should be available to Base Report Designer Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Base Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: dalibor.ko...@total-control.com.hr Description: I know that the Base Report Designer is based on Writer, but adding more drawing toolbars (like the ones present in LO Draw) would push the Report Designer a good notch above the competition... I personally need the option to draw lines at all angles, would be very nice to be able to use connector tools, glue points and to be able to group graphic objects, use my own library of shapes if possible. If this existed it would be very easy to create up to date graphical wiring diagrams (electrical engineering) that would change based on the database content. Databases are very useful to store cable lists and other similar signal interconnection tables that can all be nicely integrated together while the Report Designer would provide a much needed automatic creation of wiring drawings, instead of current situation of a gazilion different documents in excel and autocad format (or similar) for all of which it is necessary to track their own revisions etc... It can be a proper nightmare to take care of all the necessary documentation and validate the as built documentation on more complex projects. Having all the project data in one database (where certain data validation can be done automatically) while in the same time having a more advanced graphical Report Designer would make it possible to automate the tedious task of creating and maintaining of various wiring diagrams throughout a project. Such a tool is dearly missing in the Linux world, and the beauty of using LibreOffice Base for such tasks is that it can be easily adjusted for any new project with any new/significantly different requirements... Actual Results: Not possible to draw complex shapes with the current toolbox. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105723] Bring formatting toolbar in Impress back
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105723 --- Comment #2 from martin_hos...@sil.org --- Currently (5.3), in Impress, when editing a text box, the text formatting toolbar appears. On systems with a narrow screen, the result is that the toolbar appears below the toolbar and pushes the whole content down. This is very disruptive for the user as the text box they are editing is shifted down, and perhaps off the visible window. What is needed for there to be a way to stop the text formatting toolbar from appearing when text editing is selected. Enabling the text formatting toolbar generally results in it disappearing after the first text edit and we are back to the appearing and disappearing toolbars. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

But not clear there is a priority to provide GUI support for applying and tracking OpenType features [1] beyond the current application/display in the Character style dialog and Sidebar content panel. Some effort could be made to map the OpenType features onto the Character dialog Font Effects tab to provide a GUI, but that would be for a limited subset of features. But IMHO the most efficient is what exists now, applying the feature directly as direct formatting or by defining and applying it in a style. All without cluttering the UI with implementing GUI for infrequently used typographic widgets. =ref-= [1] https://www.microsoft.com/typography/otspec/featurelist.htm Referenced Bugs: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71732 [Bug 71732] [META] Bugs related to text rendering, typography and font features in LO -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
