[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106314] New: Tables icon menu not working

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106314

Bug ID: 106314
Summary: Tables icon menu not working
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.5.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dyk...@gmail.com

Created attachment 131624
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=131624&action=edit
screen shot

I'm about to create a new database and created a 'history bib.odb' file. I'm
about to generate Tables by clicking the Tables icon in the menu column
'Database' at the left of the file window. However, an error dialog box pops up
that read

"The connection to the data source 'history bib' could not be established. No
Java installation could be found. Please check your installation."

However, I had installed JRE from

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html

Installation was successful, and the version check was also done successfully.
'Java Scrip' is also enabled in Safari Preferences/Security.

What should be the problem? Anything I did wrong?

My systems is New iMac with macOS Sierra.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

In fact input with the Unicode toggle, or Special character dialog input for
these characters is already provided in the LibreOffice GUI.

Also, the generic Microsoft Windows ALT Code numberpad IME syntax works
correctly within LibreOffice -- i.e. +0186 and +0170 for the ordinal
indicators.

So l10n support needed for entering these specialized glyphs from a pt-BR
keyboard while helpful is really not necessary within LibreOffice.

As with duplicate bug 71176 the Special Character dialog, and the +x
Unicode toggle (bug 73691) already supports the general case for when locale
keyboard or OS provides an unsupported Input Method Engine (IME).

º - U+00ba - MASCULINE ORDINAL INDICATOR
ª - U+00aa - FEMININE ORDINAL INDICATOR
° - U+00b0 - DEGREE SIGN

So, for now it *is* trivial to input these and similar locale specific
characters without needing to implement them in LibreOffice l10n source for
keyboard deadkeys or other IME. But long term improvement in cross platform
support for making use of OS provided IME and keyboard mappings is needed for
i18n.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94918] Lost image in Draw under Linux Gentoo (files over network)

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94918

hi all,
thanks to reply me but we are in 2017 and i send this bug in 2015.
now i use another more recent version of libre office.

i do not use (known) the method " in Calc, menu Edition > Link... then break
all links and save the file, then insert the file in the Draw document."

the solution have found and working today with recent libreoffice version is to
modify the local temp directory.

i setup temp folder for libreoffice in my home user directory, i think gentoo
system (with systemd) temp directory was purged too rapidly and since i modify
in libre office settings this tmp folder i never loosing inserted pictures,
even if my doc is in my linux network folder with image directory or if my
document was on my computer and image folder in network folder. I just insert
image from network folder in my calc document and do not use draw, now i export
directly my doc in pdf from calc.
the only bug is when i move or resize my picture inserted, that do not delete
the first image, i must to manually delete it. ex when i resize(with mouse)
image that create new smaller image but not erase the precedent biggest image.
But this bug is less problematic

(Sorry for my poor english)

two images are JPGs and last two are PNGs. They look fine in Writer v5.2.5.1,
but when exporting af PDF, the PNGs are stretched horizontally (approx. factor

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106310] New: FILESAVE symmetric transition of Bézier point lost on save

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106310

Bug ID: 106310
Summary: FILESAVE symmetric transition of Bézier point lost on

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.2.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Disable any snapping. Create a Bézier curve with three anchor points. Set the
middle anchor point to symmetric transition. Save the document and reload it.
Examine the middle point. Does it still have a symmetric transition? If yes,
move its control points and save and reload again.

Working with such curves often leads to a corner point after reloading. The
reason is, that in that cases the path is not saved with the special path
command "s" for a symmetric transition, but with the generic "c" command.

So this is a weakness in implementation. It seems to use the coordinates to
determine whether it is a symmetric transition or not and fails because of one
off rounding inaccuracy. Instead it should use the state, which was set by the
user to determine a symmetric transition.

I've got a crash today in LO 5.3, just by pressing ctrl+j inside a table and

there are still several defects that prevent serious usage of LO in
Arabic/Persian. I think text justification needs more attention.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106309] New: Wrong placement of kashida causes defect in Arabic/ Persian text rendering

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106309

Bug ID: 106309
Summary: Wrong placement of kashida causes defect in
Arabic/Persian text rendering
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: hossein...@gmail.com

Description:
When using the option "Set Character Spacing" in "Properties" section of the
sidebar, if the text is Arabic, then kashida is used to stretch the text, and
because kashida is placed in wrong places, it causes defect in Arabic/Persian
text rendering.

There was an old bug in Arabic/Persian text rendering that created defects, it
was fixed before AO 3, then It was recreated when HarfBuzz was used, and it is
now fixed in LibreOfffice 5.3. But it seems that there are still issues needed
to be fixed.

Bug 35320 - EDITING: Justified problem in arabic
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35320

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open libreoffice Writer or Impress.
2. Type some Arabic/Persian language text like "به نام خدا".
3. Open "Properties" from sidebar.
4. Open "Set Character Spacing" box, then choose "Very Loose".

Actual Results:
Wrong placement of kashida causes defect in Arabic/Persian text rendering

Expected Results:
kashida should be placed to increase the size of rendered words

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106308] New: Table formatted with rows alterning their color including last row

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106308

Bug ID: 106308
Summary: Table formatted with rows alterning their color
including last row
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: thomas.le...@gmail.com

The existing AutoFormat styles for tables in Writer are focused on financial
issues and use a total row (sum row). But sometimes you don't need a total row
and the last row should be styled than the other rows (e.g. with alternating
colors).

The table styles should be configurable
* to save a table style without a total row and
* to assign a table style to an existing table without a total row - the
simplest way would be a checkbox in the formatting area in the bottom of the
AutoFormat dialog window.

Actual result:

- - - -
Header row
- - - -
bright row
- - - -
dark row
- - - -
bright row
- - - -
dark row
- - - -
total row
- - - -

Desired result if no total row is necessary:

- - - -
Header row
- - - -
bright row
- - - -
dark row
- - - -
bright row
- - - -
dark row
- - - -
BRIGHT row

2. Set "Numerals" to "context" in Options > Language Settings > Complex Text

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106306] New: Wrong text language detection, based on locale and not keyboard

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 106306
Summary: Wrong text language detection, based on locale and not
keyboard
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: hossein...@gmail.com

Description:
I am a Persian/Farsi user, and I usually work with Persian/Farsi language
documents. Because of this, I use "Persian" locale in Libreoffice.
Now that I want to create an English language document, I change the keyboard
into English, and change the paragraph to left-to-right, and start typing. When
I closely look at the status bar, I see Persian in the language section of the
status bar, and I should type at least one character to see Englih language
there. This may not seem to create problems at first, but actually it does.
When I want to write quotation mark, it uses the Persian/Farsi quotation mark,
and not the correct English one.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set locale to Persian in Options > Language Settings > Languages > Locale
setting
2. Change the paragraph to LTR
3. Start typing something with single or double quotation mark like: "Test" or
'Test'

Actual Results:
You will see that the first quotation mark is shown as « which is wrong.

Expected Results:
You should see the correct English quotation marks, double quotation mark " or
single quotation mark '.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This seems to be created in LibreOffice 5.3, which fixed a lot of text
rendering issues. The locale prolbems are not confined to this. Translating
numerals into appropriate shapes according to the context is also wrong in
LibreOffice 5.3. If you set locale to Persian, you will see all the numerals
are Hindi in a completely English and LTR Impress document.

There are still problems. I have drawn a Bézier curve with four point. Now I
cannot leave symmetric transition. Sometimes if I switch the middle segment to
straight line and go back to curve, I can then switch the transition kinds. But
then again it sticks in one kind. Unfortunately I cannot give you a always
working scenario. It is annoying.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106305] New: Drawing complex groups with complex placed glues.

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106305

Bug ID: 106305
Summary: Drawing complex groups with complex placed glues.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: martin.marmso...@gmail.com

Hello,

I drawed some of my pictures of the bachelor thesis with LO draw, but I had
there some inconveniences.
At the moment you can add glues just to the edges of a group (which is a
rectangle) but sometime it's useful do add glues to more complex symbols and
removing the glues from the edges of the group, to connect multiple complex
groups together. You can add glues to parts of the group, but outside of the
group they aren't visible. So it should be possible to combine a symbol with a
textedit with specified glues, and the text is later possible to change.
Is there a possibility to implement something like this in LO?

Best regards,

Martin

One further thing to consider is that when I test the document with Microsoft
Office, it also follows font design. So you might get inconsistent result
across text processors, which (in my opinion) is bad in terms of document
interoperability if Unicode standard isn't updated.

In short, Chinese users expect vertical orientation of full-width colon(0xff1a)
and semi-colon(0xff1b) to be Tu ( upright if transform does not exist ) instead
of Tr. However I don't know the context how the orientation is defined for
these two characters in Tr50. ( i.e Are they used exclusively by CJK? Was that
a mistake, or some others ( ex, Japanese, Korean, or users in other language )
actually expect it to be Tr? )

I'd further check if characters have been rendered following the font design
when I'm available.

I guess, there are still few instances left for mpImpl, can I assign this bug

Hello...I can't find 5.3.1.1 only 5.3.0.3 on the LibreOffice download site.
Where did you get 5.3.1.1? ...thanks Ron

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76324] CALC becomes very slow with 5000+ comments

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76324

Results:

I repeated the procedure described in comment #34 under Ubuntu 14.04 (LO
4.2.8.2
Build ID: 420m0(Build:2)). The save process at step 7 was completed without
trouble in 20 seconds.

Could it be that Matúš' patch successfully solved the problem, and then someone
(partially) reverted it and reintroduced (the "save" part of) the bug before
tommy27 got a chance to undertake the test described in the penultimate
paragraph of comment #23?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 31379] wrong headline number in table of contents (TOC) for specific file

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31379

Philip also found out that the paragraph between ToC and the first heading
needs to be (a) of style "Text body" (i.e. outline-numbered in the way we use
outline numbering to number paragraphs), and (b) numbering needs to be turned
off with F12 for this paragraph. If both (a) and (b) are in place, then the ToC
displays correctly.

I agree with Robert; the color picker is definitely buggy.
+Attempting to change the color to "stock" color, like "Skyblue 3", does NOT
work.
+Trying to use the custom color picker works, BUT, it does not reflect the
color change on the paletteuntil you move the black dot.

But, I assumed that those are different issues and probably deserved it's own
bug ticket.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106304] Exporting text in shape with hard newline or empty paragraph to .pptx broken

Previous document exported as .pptx

As can be seen by loading this into LibreOffice, the first line "A" is now
apparently a separate paragraph, and not centred, but left-aligned. Also, the
empty paragraph at the end has character size 18 (which apparently is some kind
of default). This too large height causes the whole text to be too high inside
the shape compared to the original document.

Original slideshow as .odp

The round shape contains two paragraphs. The first paragraph has the text "A",
followed by a hard newline (Shift-Enter in LO), and "DEF". The second paragraph
is empty. As can be seen in the LibreOffice UI, the paragraphs are centred
horizontally and all characters have size 8.

There seems to be a mistake - it's the same file as the one "after":
kerning-lo-after.png

Just on a side note for people checking this bug report in future: With
introduction of HarfBuzz on all platforms (bug 89870) in the LO version 5.3,
this issue affects all platforms, not only Linux. (On the latter it was
introduced earlier - in the version 4.1:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.1#Core , which is the reason
for this issue to be referring to the version 4.1.)

I can confirm the behavior listed in Comment 20 from creating a new file in
Writer 5.1.4.2 using just H1's and Text body paras with H1 assigned to Level 1
numbering and Text Body style assigned to Level2 numbering so that each
paragraph is numbered and picks up the Chapter number.

If an empty text paragraph is positioned between the ToC and the Document
text/headings, then the ToC displays correctly.

MS-DOC kerning reproducer

I'm attaching an [MS-DOC] file that has kerning enabled in some places, just to
show the MSO behavior, the old LO one and the LO one after
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/34169/ is in. It looks like the old one
doesn't match the MSO one, while the new one does, so it's promising.

I'm closing this after all, because:
- I don't personally have a use for it
- There is a privacy and security implication (disclosure of the LO version and
the OS)
- There may be an impact on people using the user agent filtering in their

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106302] New: Chart-wizard doesn' t detect if data are in rows or columns

2017-03-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106302

Bug ID: 106302
Summary: Chart-wizard doesn't detect if data are in rows or
columns
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rob...@familiegrosskopf.de

Created attachment 131605
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=131605&action=edit
Two data-areas to test the wizard

Open the attached Calc-document. There are two areas with data. One shows the
area with data in rows, the other shows the data with area in columns.
For data with area in rows you could see a chart as it should be shown for
physics in school.
Mark A1:G5.
Start the wizard for creating a chart.
Choose x/y (chatter).
The data won't be detected as data in rows, but as data in columns. You have to
type "Next" and choose "Data-series in rows".

Do the same with data in columns:
Mark A10:B16
Start the wizard for creating a chart.
Choose x/y (chatter).
The data would be shown the right way.

Seems the default has been set to columns.

Most data in school are written in rows. Pupils when starting the wizard and
get such a chart with data in columns. So I see two possibilities to change
this:

1. There could be a possibility set the default in Tools > Options ...
2. The better way: "Data in rows" should be chosen if there are more columns
than rows and "Data in columns" should be chosen if there are more rows than
columns in the marked area.

No matter if you press RETURN above or below the table, it simply does nothing.

The table remains static.

The table was in a .doc (MS Word) which I opened with LO 5.3 and converted to
.ODT.

Of course the download and installation would be from a local drive on the
system, i.e. the C: drive, of you Windows system, and *not* on a network share.

Also, with the multiple installation attempts you may have to clear the
MSInstaller cache by unregistering the service, and then registering it again.

So from a command window (run as Administrator):

Enter
   msiexec /unregister

followed by
   msiexec /regserver

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105594] Missing background-color option in control properties in a form

Ok, the boxes for changing the color of background and border have come back
with LO 5.3.1.1. But I don't understand why it is showing (for a white
background of the control) a black background on the Listbox and the text
"Light Magenta".

You could choose another color and it will show all right, but the default seem
to be a little buggy.

If you are installing from a network drive, the error 1335 suggests a
permission issue for one of the .CAB files in the installer.

I suggest you download the full .msi installer from LibreOffice directly
[1]--or from one of our mirrors--and then check its HASH value to be sure the
package is not corrupt. HASH value(s) will be listed in a MirrorBrain summary
for the package reached via the "Details" or the "Info" links.

Once you know you have a valid installation package, then run your installation
from the Windows command window with commands:

msiexec.exe /i LibreOffice_5.3.0.3_Win_x64.msi

You can capture installation log by appending " /L*v verboseLog.txt", which
will be needed if you still have issues. Adjust your command line to match the
package name and bitness, x86_64 or x86, you downloaded.

After the main program installs, you could do the same for the help pack:

msiexec.exe /i LibreOffice_5.3.0.3_Win_x64_helppack_pt.msi

NoteBookBar in FR with items "outside" the screen

Switch UI to French, navigate to "affichage" toolbar in calc for example, the
last items on the right appear outside the screen, probably due to text being
longer than in English.
