[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106763] EDITING
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106763 David Lochrin changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #5 from David Lochrin --- (In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #4) > Please review the option: > Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice calc/General - Expand references when new > columns/rows are inserted. You're absolutely correct Miguel, and I apologise for wasting everyone's time. I thought it was a bit too simple for a bug! However I do think this option is rather dangerous because it can obviously lead to incorrect results when a spreadsheet designer is unaware of it and a function argument then operates on unintended cells. I imagine most would not be aware of it; I wasn't and I count myself as a knowledgable user. Should it be set "off" by default, and has the default changed in recent versions? Though I realise changing defaults is tricky. In my case the effect arose quite indirectly. I have written macros for adding & deleting multiple rows and sorting up to two columns of commonly formatted sheets (with header row(s), a data area, and an end row), and I've been using them for years. But recently a calculation located below the data area (i.e. outside the nominal scope of the macros) generated incorrect results when rows were added anywhere in the data such that the last row of the new data area extended at least to the row ("x") immediately before a SUM(x:y) function. The SUM() function then summed the range (x:y+n) where "n" is the number of rows added. Thanks for your response. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106788] New: Libreoffice 'Export to PDF' save dialog allows newline characters in file name
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106788 Bug ID: 106788 Summary: Libreoffice 'Export to PDF' save dialog allows newline characters in file name Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.2.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: gro...@ajinfosearch.com Description: As part of my work I need to generate pdf documents where I copy and paste the data into a Writer document then export as a pdf. Part of the name I need to save the file as comes from cells in tables or a spreadsheet. It appears that every cell has a newline character (hex 0A) at the end of the text. The newline character is included when copying the text (which I assume is intended). The newline character is transparently included when pasting the copied text in the Name field of the Export dialog. This causes problems when the file is further processed in my workflow. Please filter out the newline character in the file save dialog or give an option to do so. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Copy the cell Name in the attached sample.ods 2.Export as PDF 3.Paste the copied name in the save file dialog and type something after it 4.File name is saved with the newline (hex 0A) character Actual Results: A new line character is included in the file name. Expected Results: The Export dialog should filter out all newline characters before saving the file. Yes it would behave similar to its current behaviour in the sidebar, of creating a child style either based on the selection (if all the text is styled the same) or based on the caret position. Its creation is being handled in bug 106782. (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #2) > Not opposed as I think current standard and formatting toolbars over > emphasize Direct formatting rather than applying Styles, but wouldn't this > be more in line with MUFFIN customizations of the Sidebar or the Notebookbar? MUFFIN doesnt customize the sidebar or notebookbar, it simply provides preset arrangements of toolbars, sidebar and notebookbar. Wheels turn slowly with the sidebar and notebookbar, but much faster with toolbars, and if the concept works fine with the toolbars, it could possibly be adopted into the notebookbar, but highly unlikely with the sidebar. > The mockup is fine, but as I note on bug 106681#c2 the drop list widget for > Character styles is more concise and can actually hold all the available > styles--rather than trying to decide on a specific set of buttons to provide > on the toolbar. With 27 default character styles available in Writer, that doesnt reduce the number clicks and mouse movements needed to select a different style, which could take alot less mouse movement and a single click to activate from a toolbar button. > And of course, question becomes how these additional toolbar controls are > made available. Are they core .src provided like other "legacy" toolbars, > exposed from the View -> Toolbar menu--or would they be packaged as .oxt > extensions to skin the UI with the tools and layout a user prefers to work > with? It will be a standard toolbar .xml file, which a user can easily active from View > Toolbars. I've included in the attachment if you'd like to try it out, though some of the character style controls are just placeholders for when the real uno commands are implemented. > Working out details to do the latter for all the MUFFIN resources would > provide a lot more flexibility. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106574] [NEWHELP] Create a navigation history snippet.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106574 --- Comment #8 from Fabio Biocchetti --- Hi everybody! (: This is my initial commit for this case: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/35728 With this commit, I changed the HTML/CSS layout in order to add the navigation history section in the top right area. The navigation history is almost finished, it only has two problems to be fixed: - After switching the module section using the top left menu, the navigation history erases. - After switching the module section and selecting new bookmarks from the left list, the navigation history stores the last clicked value twice. However I hope this to be a good starting point, this approach is actually working and it allows the navigation history elements to be clickable. You can start from here and fix those two small issues in order to complete this task for the help tooling. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I very much disagree, I want the gtk3 LibreOffice to blend in with the system gtk3 theme. And in some places we are using the native gtk3 stuff directly so it's out of our hands already, e.g. menubar, menus, file picker, tooltips, popovers, whether modal dialogs are locked in position or not. I'd like to go further there and use more native widgets rather than the current scheme of using our own widgets and using the gtk theming apis to render them. I think the specific bug should be split up into the pieces that are causing problems and see if they are currently been taken from the wrong parts of the system theme and can be individually improved. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106781] Addition of a style-focused formatting toolbar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106781 --- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote --- Jay, * Not opposed as I think current standard and formatting toolbars over emphasize Direct formatting rather than applying Styles, but wouldn't this be more in line with MUFFIN customizations of the Sidebar or the Notebookbar? Shouldn't the legacy Toolbars (admittedly now mostly Glade .UI configured) be added to scope of MUFFIN? The mockup is fine, but as I note on bug 106681#c2 the drop list widget for Character styles is more concise and can actually hold all the available styles--rather than trying to decide on a specific set of buttons to provide on the toolbar. And of course, question becomes how these additional toolbar controls are made available. Are they core .src provided like other "legacy" toolbars, exposed from the View -> Toolbar menu--or would they be packaged as .oxt extensions to skin the UI with the tools and layout a user prefers to work with? When 32px icons were added the values have shifted - "auto" had value 2 has became "32px" choice and "auto" has the new value 3. In the case of the default "auto", we now always showed 32px icons. This commit reverts the "auto" value 2 and puts "32px" choice to 3. - Name resolving now always removes the icon file extension and adds the ".png" and ".svg" extension before resolving. Yes (1) can be done immediately if a dev is ready to do it, but the UX-problems i've mentioned would be present with (1) or (2). So as (1) is what is wanted in this bug report, i'm fine with it staying open. If a dev takes this on, then a 'Add Style' button should be added under 'Add Separator' and it would open up a dialog which would have a listbox for paragraph styles and listbox for character styles and a 'Add Paragraph Style' and 'Add Character Style' buttons below them. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106681] Feature Request: Ability to assign character styles to toolbar buttons...
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106681 --- Comment #34 from vermontp...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Regina Henschel from comment #29) > (In reply to Yousuf Philips (jay) from comment #27) > > There are two requests mixed up: > (1) Enhance the customize dialog, so that it is possible to make a toolbar > button that assigns a style. > > (2) Change the default toolbar, so that it has buttons for assigning > character styles. That's exactly it. The intent of this bug report was never to change the default toolbar. However, a basic and customizable "EBook" Toolbar offering soft-formatting buttons and drop down menus for paragraph styles *and "character styles" is devoutly to be wished for. As I wrote previous, I personally don't think it makes sense for soft-formatting buttons to mix attributes (at least not initially). It could be done, and might be a useful feature several years from now (for a styles based word-processor) but styles work differently. A good first step: 1.) Create the style separately with whatever attributes one desires (as is done now) but 2.) allow the user to more easily add a toolbar button with which to apply that style. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
