I got this problem when want to sent this file to my friend. Because my friend's unfamiliar with LO, so I sent him with doc format (AFAIK, doc format is better than docx format for odt file). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106913] New: More detailed word count statistics
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106913 Bug ID: 106913 Summary: More detailed word count statistics Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: haydntrow...@enenra.com The word count dialog box is missing some statistics that users may find useful. For example, the word count dialog box in Microsoft Word contains additional entries for "Pages", "Paragraphs", "Lines", and "Non-Asian words". The last of these items, "Non-Asian words", is particularly useful when composing documents in an East Asian script with glosses/parentheses/footnotes in a language written in a Roman script, and when composing bilingual documents in a language written in Roman script and one written in an East Asian script. As such, it would be very beneficial to users of East Asian languages if the word count dialog would display this statistic, while statistics such as "Pages", "Paragraphs", and "Lines" would be useful to users no matter their linguistic background. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106912] New: FILESAVE sometimes fails to save as CSV, sometimes manual save silently fails, data is lost
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106912 Bug ID: 106912 Summary: FILESAVE sometimes fails to save as CSV, sometimes manual save silently fails, data is lost Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.1.6.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: a...@meatfreezer.com Description: I'm using LibreOffice 5.1.6.2 on Ubuntu 16.04. After working on a spreadsheet over the past few days (keeping LibreOffice open the whole time), this afternoon LibreOffice started complaining about being unable to save as CSV or XLSX. The error message I got is "Error saving the document $filename: General Error. General input/output error" I got a little sketched out and decided to just save the doc and restart the application. I chose Save from the File menu, and did not get an error message. I closed LibreOffice, and did not get an error message. I then re-open my document, only to see that none of the edits that I've made in the last few hours are in the doc. So much data entry lost! I'm so sad! This is a very simple sheet with only 99 rows and 30 columns that I'm doing by-hand data entry into. No calculations or formulae. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Work on doc for a while. 2. Save the doc as CSV. 3. Save the doc. 4. Quit and restart. Actual Results: "Save as.." sometimes fails with error message. Save silently fails. App happily and silently quits without having saved edits. Expected Results: I'm upset but understand failing to "Save as..." with an error message. I know there's something I need to do to understand it. But silently failing to "Save" is unforgivable, as is allowing the user to quit without at least notifying me about losing uncommitted edits. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106910] New: When document is open, parentheses at end of lines of code are stripped off.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106910 Bug ID: 106910 Summary: When document is open, parentheses at end of lines of code are stripped off. Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.2.1 rc Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: BASIC Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: w...@theriantimeline.com Description: Since my last update, every time I open a document, I have to repair my code in Basic macros because all the parentheses at the end of lines of code have been stripped off. I have tried disabling autocomplete but that doesn't change the problem. I am using a Windows 7 operating system. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a document that includes macros. 2. 3. Actual Results: I get an error message warning that parentheses are missing and I have to go through all the lines of code and replace the missing parentheses. The are lines that worked before my last update. Expected Results: The IDE should have accepted the code that used t work before the last update, but as per the error warning single parentheses have been stripped off the end of all lines that end in a parenthesis. This happens every time. After I repair the code, until I close and save the document again, the code works fine. After I close and save and reopen the document, I find that I have again lost all the end parentheses. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No, but I will try that. If it works, I will append this file. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104244] EDITING: current cell not indicated in Calc (Ubuntu)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104244 --- Comment #17 from I. Glossa --- I am encountering the same problem as rastakvajanasta in trying to carry out the install of sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel This is on a fresh install (not upgrade) of Ubuntu 16.04 on an Acer 1400 with the Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset. I have NOT tried to install libreoffice-gtk3 which was suggested in the ubuntuforums.org General Help board. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106890] Page orientation of User page size is not determined correctly
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106890 cson...@halmai.hu changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Resolution|INVALID |--- Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #2 from cson...@halmai.hu --- (In reply to Johnny_M from comment #1) > This doesn't look like an issue, but rather the regular behavior of any > program. Please note that the page size and page orientation are independent > things. For a brief explanation, please refer to > http://athleticaid.com/yaquinapress/landscape.html (they refer to "page > shape" as page size). I checked the mentioned link and found that all it says is just many other programs behave the same way. It does not say that this behaviour is the correct one. On the contrary, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Page_orientation explicitly says that portrait is when the height is greater than the width: > The [...] portrait [...] is [...] where the height of the display area is > greater than the width [...] So, I think following the _bad_ behaviour of other programs is not the good solution for LibreOffice. LO should behave nicely, logically and according to the expectations, rather than not following a behaviour that contradicts the expectations of most of the users. I liked when 15-20 years ago StarOffice moved the page formatting into the Format menu, rather than File menu, where MSWord and Google Docs still keep it. It simply is more logical and plausible under Format menu. Similarly, a vertical page should mean portrait, regardless what other programs say. I reopen the ticket and please, re-consider changing the current behaviour. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105589] FILESAVE: Auto-save time measured from wrong starting moment
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105589 --- Comment #10 from Luke Kendall --- I updated to 5.2.6.2 today. It's still happening. It's also very clear that Writer does not reset the "last-saved" time to be thew time of your last manual save. Auto-save happens at its regular intervals, even if that's only ten or twenty seconds since you last saved. You can't stave them off by saving manually. It's really annoying and wastes time, on long documents (that take ten seconds or more to save). It's long enough to ruin your "flow state". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
