[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106990] font rendering got worse looking in 5.3.2.2 ( for Default rendering, OpenGL not affected)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106990 --- Comment #39 from V Stuart Foote--- (In reply to Serg Bormant from comment #38) > Really? > > How to get image/behavior as LO 5.3.1.2 with > [v] Use hardware acceleration > [v] Use anti-aliasing > > You don't see ugly fonts with FullHD on 13", but try to see LO 5.3.2.2 > picture on low DPI LCD -- it is terrible ugly. That is the point, you can not. Hence my assessment this is not a bad thing and a WONTFIX of rolling it back, but we'll let the devs decide that ;-) DirectWrite has more completely replaced comparable GDI calls, and now at 5.3.2.2 the Default and CPU rendering matches the rendering as for OpenGL. That is intended and by design, but there is agreement that the DirectWrite calls need attention. It remains to resolve is if the DirectWrite calls can be made more functional for earlier Windows--notably XP, or if support for XP will be dropped. This is a test.[press Enter] This is az test.[press shift up arrow] All text should now be highlighted. Click spellcheck tool button. Spellcheck finds no errors. Deselect all text.
