The only thing I am disagreeing with, is referring to wanting to expand and image to page constraints as being "a highly specialised task". It just isn't. I am not disagreeing with whether it is easy or hard to implement or whether there is enough room in the UI to add a command, that's a decision for the developers. Guess you want both options a) page and b) paragraph width. What > happens when the image wouldn't fit in height? Crop, limit width, or just > overflow? The funny thing is, all of this actually already works for large images when you drop them into the page, be it a single page or with multiple columns, it will automatically constrain images perfectly to fit within the page or margins while keeping the correct aspect ratio. However. its just one way only for some reason, I mean I can not do this the opposite way for small images and expand them to fill the space of page or column. That creates a problem if a file named "Untitled 1" has already been created in that folder. In that case the suggested name has to be changed manually by the user. I would suggest to change the proposed name automatically from "Untitled 1" to "Untitled 2" if "Untitled 1" is already given (numeration should be continuously increased if document is already given). An even better enhancement is https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58685, however, my approach would still be useful if the saved document is still empty so that no name can be generated from content. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88403 Johnny_Mchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||kla...@partyheld.de --- Comment #16 from Johnny_M --- Created attachment 133828 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=133828=edit Resulting XLSX file saved on test step 5 I've come across this recently as well, both with XLSX files created by LO and ones (apparently) created by MS Excel. Minimal reproduction procedure: Action: 1. Open a new Calc spreadsheet 2. Enter the word "test" somewhere in the middle of the sheet (e.g., cell K30) 3. Change to the page break view (menu View -> Page Break) 4. Drag and drop the right boundary of Page 1 to the one of Page 2, to have one single page instead of two 5. Save the file in the "Microsoft Excel 2007-2013 XML (.xlsx)" format 6. Close the file 7. Open the file again Expected results: 3. Two pages are shown (Page 1 and Page 2) 4. Page 1 covers the entire used area 5. File gets saved 6. File closed 7. File opens in the Page Break view with Page 1 covering the entire used area, as set before saving Actual results: 3. to 6. As expected 7. Page 1 and Page 2 are shown as before the boundary change The issue also occurs with existing XLSX files created with both MS Excel or LO: One opens the file in LO, changes the page breaks and saves the file. Then, after re-opening the saved file in LO, the page breaks are back to as they were before the change. (Tested with https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=124761=edit, after first seeing the issue on another, small XLSX file apparently created by MS Excel 2016 according to its file properties.) The issue occurs only when saving as XLSX, not with XLS or ODS. (Saving to one of the latter two is the workaround mentioned in the comment 8.) Reproducible with (these are the only ones I tried): - Ubuntu 16.10 Mate, 64 bit; LO as provided by Ubuntu's LO 5.2 PPA: LO 5.2.6 release - Ubuntu 17.04 Mate, 64 bit; LO as provided by Ubuntu's LO 5.3 PPA: Version: 5.3.3.2 Build ID: 1:5.3.3~rc2-0ubuntu0.17.04.1~lo0 CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.10; UI Render: default; VCL: gtk3; Layout Engine: new; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group - Ubuntu 17.04 Mate, 64 bit, live ISO; LO as provided by TDF: Version: 5.5.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 05644b398a882e6cded98af5bb060af41d76 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.10; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2; TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2017-06-01_00:32:47 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group Given the apparent number of people affected I'm taking the liberty of changing the bug status to NEW. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108041] Calc fails to correctly identify the font used in a cell and fails to obey format and font changes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108041 --- Comment #7 from Kevin--- > If you do right-click - clear direct formatting (or Ctrl-M) you can reset > the cell formatting to default. yes, this works - it's not the cell location that gets corrupt - it's the cell contents > If you unzip the .ods file and look inside the content.xml (I usually use > this first http://xmlbeautifier.com/ ), This looks interesting but I can't figure out what you mean. WinRAR won't recognize the .ODS file as something that can be unzipped, xmlbeautifier.com also doesn't recognize it. The .ODS opened in Notepad.exe but the results didn't look promising. I tried "save as" within Calc to save as .XML and it returned "the file could not be written". But since you can see the internal xml or whatever it is, doesn't that prove that this is a bug that needs to be fixed, rather than "unconfirmed". It doesn't really matter how the cell got the way it is - should Calc be programmed such that it will repair whatever is going on in the XML part of the ODS so the user's commands will be obeyed? (Obviously I'm not an engineer, but common sense says that the user selects something, then chooses a command - if it doesn't work, it's a bug, right?) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89491 --- Comment #16 from Dag Wieers--- It's possible that my example fails on LibreOffice 3.6, but my workflow is different (we create the exact XML output) and that used to work find as the adornments were just part of the Font name. LibreOffice retained those. When this didn't work anymore because adornments were additionally supported (differently) I moved to the new way of working, but LibreOffice did not retain this information when converting to DOC. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108325] New: [FILESAVE: AUTOSAVE] unreliable document restore upon crashes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108325 Bug ID: 108325 Summary: [FILESAVE: AUTOSAVE] unreliable document restore upon crashes Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: libreoffice2...@web.de This is major because it caused data loss, and also an enhancement request. Hello. This applies to Calc and Writer alike. I have checked the option that my documents will be saved every minutes. After a BSOD, hours of work were lost as LibreOffice was unable to restore my document. I searched the whole hard drive for recently changed data. I did a test by killing the .bin file in taskmanager, and autosave did work then. However sometimes it does NOT seem to work and the user is left with NO fallback if relies on what the option advertises by stating that data will be saved every few minutes. A decent Office Suite should autosave every minute, without any impact / stuttering whilst editing, and not require to user to manually save at any point in time (which is very annoying). In fact, many Apps in iOS, and also my Windows Text editor of choice, autosave INSTANTLY. I have had problems with auto-restore with OpenOffice (sic) too, years ago, and I really think that this feature needs to be as robust as possible. I would like to see several fully functional backup files that are not more than 1-2 minutes old, in the libre office system folders, so users always have a simple fallback if any kind of corruption occurs. For example: mytable.odt.bak1 (0-1 minute old) mytable.odt.bak2 (1-2 minutes old) mytable.odt.bak3 (2-3 minutes old) every 1 minute, bak1 is renamed to bak2, bak2 to bak3, and a new bak1 is created. (this could be done in the background by using accumulated delta data so ediging of the currently opened file will not be impacted - I am not a programmer, I hope you get what I mean) This system (bak1/bak2/bak3) will also allow backup programs to access the current and backup files and create more sophisticated versioned backups, such as e.g. 1 minute ago 2 5 10 20 30 40 60 2 hrs 4 hrs 8 hrs 12 16 ... 7 days 8 days 9 days etc. please take this seriously. users must be protected from data loss at all cost. I found several users who seem to have had similar issues. please don't ignore this because it goes against some "philosophy" or because it is not "elegant" or because users should "press ctrl-s". what counts is that even the most ignorant users need to protected. the data lost can be invaluable in some cases. thank you. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Yes fo:line-height is defined by the CSS line-height property. I mean, that "font-size" is the base for a percentage value of line-height. That is the same in XSL-fo and CSS. The question is, whether "font-size" includes the parts top and bottom, where nothing of the character is painted. It is exported with and without text as an svg. (to reproduce simply delete the text) Load into inkscape and write out as pdf. A menue appears-also delivered as a screenshot in zip. Translated it means: "Leave away text and write into a separate TeX-file". Both versions produce two files: a pdf and a tex needed (both attached) to include the picture into (La)TeX. The point is: The version with text ALWAYS produces pdf-files with two or more pages. This causes Latex to crash or a hangup. If one adds text within inkscape - no problem- one page. Only when text comes from LO-2 pages. -- Again: I do not know if it's a LO or a inkscape-problem. But I'm not sure, how CSS > measures "font-size". Would have expected it to reference CSS's line-height attribute[1] as font-size[2] is likely the point size. If you select C2 and apply italics and then unapply italics, the text previously having italics retain italics. So if we investigate the xml, we see the C2 originally is like so. Italic Text Non-Italic Text Italic Text And after apply the italics, it has applied it at the cell level and not at the individual paragraph levels, as the xml looks like this. Italic Text Non-Italic Text Italic Text And when unapplying the italics, it also sets it at the cell level, which the paragraph level attributes will ignore. Italic Text Non-Italic Text Italic Text This problem can also be seen with D2 when applying & unapplying underline and should also be seen in B2 when applying & unapplying bold, but it is broken. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
