Miklos explains it in his blog [1] The watermark dialog and any subset for the Sidebar panel will have to honor the watermark(s) of a BAF policy, so we can not simply hard code text presets in the dialog or content panel but also must support dynamic markings drawn from organizational policies. =-ref-= [1] http://vmiklos.hu/blog/classification-toolbar.html [2] https://www.tscp.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/TSCP_BAFv1.pdf -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108498] Character styles not working against the underlying paragraph style
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108498 --- Comment #6 from Kenneth Hanson --- One more addition related to Regina's comment. I tried making a nested hierarchy of character styles, one with a manual font size (to put aside the issue regarding the behavior of defaults), a child style with 80% font size, and a 3rd level child also with 80% font size. Both the second and third level children had the same font size, 80% of the first level. So it looks to me that not even the part of the spec about inheriting from the parent style is being implemented properly for character styles. In contrast, nested percentage font sizes worked as expected for paragraph styles. Perhaps this is a separate bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108498] Character styles not working against the underlying paragraph style
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108498 --- Comment #5 from Kenneth Hanson --- Alright, so we've confirmed that character styles do not inherit from the surrounding paragraph style. (Perhaps the title of this bug should be changed back.) I was able to update such a character style in the way you described, but ONLY when changing the font size through the Basic Fonts menu. This explains the difference in effect due to order of operations that I described. But this method of updating, even if intentional, is terribly confusing. Shouldn't percentage font sizes update automatically here just the same as elsewhere?? Also, changing the default paragraph font still has no effect, either on percentage font sizes or on the default size displayed before modifications. So back to my original question: is the "parent style" of all character styles the default paragraph style, or is it something else? I tried modifying the default paragraph style again and pressing the "Standard" button, which returned it to the setting in the Basic Fonts menu. This strongly suggests that both the paragraph and character styles are based on some third source which is only modifiable from the Basic Fonts menu. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108498] Character styles not working against the underlying paragraph style
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108498 --- Comment #4 from Regina Henschel --- It should be based on its parent style. It is in ODF 20.183fo:font-size "In contrast to XSL, percentage values can be used within common styles only and are based on the font height of the parent style rather than to the font height of the attributes neighborhood. Absolute font heights and relative font heights are not supported." So with the current fo:font-size it is not possible to base the character font-size on the paragraph in which the character is, which gets this style applied. The percent values is written to file and the percent value is calculated, when the style is defined in the beginning. But the text in the document is not updated, when the font-size of the parent character style is changed. If you revisit the character Font dialog page and click on OK without any changes, then the text in the document is updated. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

If the text in the main document has font size 12, the footnote font size is 10, then it seems that any inline formula has font size 12. This can only be corrected by equipping every formula explicitly with a size 10 line: Example: size 10 { (L - %lambda sub k I ) u sub k sup " " = 0 } Even then, the font size of the for mula is sometimes incorrect. Example: Using in a footnote the following formula with the same font sizes as mentioned above: size 10 { 2 times 3 =6 } gives a font size of the formula somewhere between 10 and 12. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

So lets look at the code. DD D o D o What can be seen is that 'DD D' is set to bold at the cell level and not at the span level, so from this view, it is understandable that when you paste the beginning 'DD D' that it wouldnt be set to bold, as it would look like so. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108664] New: Character spacing too wide
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108664 Bug ID: 108664 Summary: Character spacing too wide Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.3.2.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: cranberrydoug...@yahoo.com Description: After upgrading to the 5.3 series, I found that the spacing between characters is slightly different than the 5.2 series and previous. This messes up the formatting of documents. I found the issue with Times New Roman, at least; it cannot be replicated with every font but there could be others. It is perhaps worth nothing that Liberation Serif (made to be metrically identical to Times New Roman) is identical in all versions of LibreOffice and uses the same space as Times New Roman in the 5.2 series and before, so the problem is with the 5.3 series. I'm using Ubuntu 16.04. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make a document with Times New Roman as the font. 2. Open it in LibreOffice 5.3. 3. Compare its formatting and character spacing to LibreOffice 5.2. Actual Results: Because the spacing is slightly different, the page looks different than in older versions of LibreOffice, which can mess up formatting. Expected Results: The document should look identical across versions of LibreOffice. So that if I write a larger number it is going towards right instead and keeping at the same side at the right. Steps to Reproduce: 1. If I do it on the box the whole box jumps to the left even though I try to align right. 2.If I do it to the left side it seems to act as it should and keep in the left. But since it is the normal setting I have no idea if that is really happening. 3. Actual Results: So for instance the number on the page I wanted it to be at a certain distance from the right side, but it is impossible to automate I needed to do it manually and try to make it as precise as possible. That was a strange experience. Expected Results: I was expecting the text to align to the right side when I press that it should do that, but instead it jumps to the left side or nothing happens. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Would be nice if it could be fixed with the next update. So if it was just a little easier to find the place where to change the color of the text it had been nice. I needed white text on dark background. Actual Results: I had to find a manual where first I had to go into one meny and then suddenly it is possible to rightclick the text and find the place to change the color of the text Expected Results: Easy to change text color. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: It would be nice just to rightclick the textbox and then change textcolor. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92419] delete referenced cell - raise error
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92419 --- Comment #15 from Eike Rathke --- As this is not set to resolved fix it is not implemented, no. First, we certainly do not want to scan the entire document (or broadcast and collect a new before-deletion hint) whether a formula expression references a to be deleted cell or not for each cell/column/row to be deleted. Second, an expression could also reference a cell/range not only in cell formulas but also in named expressions, validation, conditional formatting, ... We could significantly slow things down with such an approach, so anything like that should be optional not activated by default, which then again doesn't help an inexperienced user either. Plus, implementation would be cumbersome. In short, I'm not a friend of this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

How > can we do that? Not sure if this is possible coding wise, but i'm assuming .uno:Watermark or a new UNO command could launch the page style dialog and have it switch to the Watermark tab. Ideally all dialogs should be able to take a query argument, so we could use something like .uno:PageDialog?Tab:string=Watermark, as this would be highly useful, e.g. the Page deck/tab in the sidebar. > Or did I misunderstand, and you are not proposing to remove the menu entry? Yes i'm proposing the removal of the entry from the menu as it is redundant when the functionality is accessible from the page style dialog. We dont provide direct menu access to more highly used page-level features like page size or margins, so not sure why we'd want to do so for watermark. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
