Handling of the Navigator dialog changes once issues of bug 85905 "Allow
undocking of Sidebar decks" are addressed. For now we have two Navigator
content panels using the Sidebar UI--and their behavior is somewhat
independent.

When bug 85905 allows undocking individual content panels from the Sidebar,
current need for a second Navigator panel (as Samuel implemented for bug
73151#c19) is eliminated and we can get back to just the single content panel,
docked or floating.

On Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (ver 1703) en-US. Can not confirm with any reasonable
set of Steps to Reproduce.

Resolving WFM, but please set back to unconfirmed if you have a STR that
actually fails on loading and attach a verbose installation log (i.e. command
line install with msiexec.exe /i with  the "/L*v installlog.txt" switch. Zip
that and post it.  

Otherwise installation on Windows must be done "run as administrator" to ensure
write permissions into the Windows registry, that is regardless of being logged
on as an administrators group member account, or as just a simple user account.

Description:
After creating a form with "Option buttons", they are not reached when using
the tab key if they are empty.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create form
2.Insert button options without default option
3.Use tab to reach the option buttons

Actual Results:  
If option button is not selected, option button are not reached. You need to
use mouse pointer to select it.

Expected Results:
To be reachable using tab  key.

I tested with the GTK2 version and reverting this unfortunately does not fix
that version. still, it would be great to at least have orca functioning with
the GTK3 version again. Even if reverting this commit is not the correct course
of action, I hope that this information can at least lead someone to what may
be causing the issue.

I reverted commit 27328034f5e2644b4a0287532e762e87ea36c4a0 on the latest master
branch of libreoffice today and built it. This fixes the bug for the GTK3
version of libreoffice. Orca no longer gets slower and slower as data is typed
into cells.

Test it. Temporarily rename your user profile folder, so that a new one is
generated, which has only default settings. Generate a new Calc document and
look, whether this setting is enabled. I don't know whether the Linux
distributor has changed the default.

Robert gathered from my comment #2 a meaning I didn't intend to convey, and
therefore thought he had to correct it. But in fact we mean the same. After a
private dialog I think we have now agreed on the following statement: There
should be a way, in data entry mode, to jump to the (first element in the) next
form, similarly to edit mode, where you can jump to the next form by Ctrl+Tab.
This does normally not work for forms containing table grids: when the cursor
is within a table grid nothing happens. It does jump to the next form, though,
when the cursor is within a single field.

If you combine table grids and single grids in one form, the situation is more
complicated. It seems that Ctrl+Tab has two different meanings:
1. if the focus is in a single field, it jumps to te next form.
2. if the focus is in a tablegrid, it leaves the table grid; this may result in
a jump to the next form, but if there are some single fields in the form, the
cursor moves just to the first of these fields (this may depend on the
tab-order or the order displayed in the navigator).

The above statements relate to the situation that you opened the form document
in data entry mode. If you open it in edit mode and switch off design mode
(which I name mode B for the moment), then you should ideally be in the same
mode as in data entry (which I name mode A). But there are grave differences:

1. if you have only table grids, mode B seems to work perfectly: Ctrl+Tab jumps
from one form to the next; in mode A this normally doesn't work
2. if you have also single fields within a form, Ctrl+Tab will not work for
single fields in mode B, whereas it works for them in mode A. In mode A the
focus moves from a table grid to the first single field or from a single field
- as it seems - to the first (in the sense of tab order) element of the next
form.

There is no use providing examples or test documents, anyone tackling this
principal problem will have to create his own test cases after investigating
the existing code. Robert's example may be a starting point, though.

Rest it to say that this an important issue regarding accessability, which
seems to have been a little bit overlooked in Base.

The colour is not preselected as someone thought it would be a brilliant idea
and improved UX when standard colour aka Tango Blue aka #729FCF was removed
from standard colour palette

Thank you for the link. It provides partial clarification. I have a few
questions to get a full understanding of the underlying mechanics.

It says: "If you edit biblio.odb in "base" you will really just be changing
your local
data store."

What is meant by 'local store'?

I've have mostly used "tools->bibliography database and edit your local one
through that UI". In the past I also used "base" when I ran into Bibliography
update issues and thought there was a bug.

What is the full path for extras/source/database/ and
extras/source/database/biblio.odb?

Why is copying needed in a completely different directory?

It seems to me that there is a lot of complexity here. Is this documented in
any of the User Guides. Is there an effort planned to reduce this complexity?
Regular users like me will not be able to figure this out.

Reading some of the comments on other reports I'm starting to see that Calc
differentiates between formatting set from within the cell versus to the cell
itself. This attachment demonstrates the bug completely within a fresh cell -
absolutely no complications.

1.open document
2.click on slides 2 
3.impress crashes
(same happens wit slide 5. but not with some of the others.

Expected Results:
should not crash.
Note: I was working on another doc at the time (a calc doc). Could not restart
with restoring as it Impress crashed immediately every time before opening
anything.
Eventually found where the calc autoback doc was and copied that so I could
restart with discard. Is it not possible to choose which docs to restore or
discard when one restarts after a crash? That would be most helpful.

Then you can create a Python extension for it.

If we implemented this in core, then we would get dozens of bug reports

LibO will accesses share\extensions\dict-da and dict-hu when hoovering over the
toolbar. User interface and local setting are set to English. It won't happen
without the (default)language extensions.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Writer
2. Open Process Monitor with filter set to soffice.bin (and start the capture)
3. However with the mouse over standard/formatting toolbar

Actual Results:  
share\extensions\dict-da and dict-hu will be accessed for help-files 

Expected Results:
Interface language is set to English. So no need reading
share\extensions\dict-da and dict-hu (in my opinion)

Yes wrap simply disables/overwrites the effect of shrink when it is enabled,
but retains the check/uncheck setting of shrink for when wrap is disabled. This
makes sense and is also how Excel functions.

The underlaying CMYK color space needed for PDF/X ISO 15930 is not natively
supported within LibreOffice.  We only have limited pdfium based import
filtering and convert to RGB (sRGB) but not the other way for export filters.
The UI provides for color input as CMYK value--but that is converted to RGB.

Better bet is export to PNG and find other conversion to CMYK based PDF there.
And for printing process separation, we now support the "freecolor HLC" based
color palette, which will render with good fidelity back to CMYK color process
separations.

To me, a pretty clear WONTFIX as native CMYK support is out of scope.

1) the tests results I reported above were without any typing delays, in other
words I quickly typed the tests.

2) Also the test result above boil down to not selecting the first item with
the given prefix.

3) Then in addition to the above issue, I also think the delay is not the best
way to start over.

Rather I think Del or Esc (or both) would be a better, more straightforward way
to undo or cancel the operation.  

I think Esc would be the best choice, but it must be implemented carefully
because when not in the list box context, it also deletes the entire new record
entry.  I have learned to be careful with it, and then to cuss softly when it
does delete all I have just typed in.

I would like it if Esc, when pressed once would backup and erase the typing in
the List Box (i.e. cancel the list box operation and close the list), and then 

if Esc is hit twice, that it would first backup and close the list box, then
erase the new record if you happen to be on a new record, or undo any edits if
you are not on a new record.

Observed on three Win10 machines, install will fail if LO has been run, also
install of LO documentation will fail if LO has been run or just updated. The
workaround is to either logout (usually sufficient) or reboot and retry the
operation. This problem goes back at least sever LO versions and has been
observed on all subsequent updates. The workaround suggests this is one of
those stupid windows open file problems. This is transient behavior so I hope
this helps clears up other observations like #91113.

Problem exists on Win10 version 1703 and predecessor.

This behavior is inherited from OO and is still the same in master LO 6.0+.

It looks logical: "Wrap text" and "Shrink to fit" are separate options, but if
"Wrap text" is used then "Shrink to fit" is not available, only last state is
remembered. 
You say "the interface should make sure that at most one control is checked"
but how exactly? Do you have a mockup? It's not radio and this way is OK. And I
find keeping that last state useful.

I cannot conceive a practical implementation of "the combination could make
sense too". If wrap is on, how will LO know what size of shrinked text you
want?

What could be improved, although it's self-explanatory on usage, is to amend
documentation at
https://help.libreoffice.org/index.php?title=Common/Alignment_1 to say in
"Shrink to fit cell size" also: 
"You cannot apply this command to a cell that has text wrapped".

When this bug was confirmed, it was more reproduced then analyzed and
questioned. 
So, I'll close as NotABug and cc people who may object here.

Hello,

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply. I've tried on LibreOffice 5.3.3.2 and I
get the same error message ("The loading of password-encrypted Microsoft
PowerPoint Presentations is not supported"). Since I was able to see the
presentation on PowerPoint, I assumed the file didn't have a password, but I've
realized that it's edit-protected.

As for your question, is there a view-mode only for PowerPoint files? I
basically double-click PowerPoint files in order to see the presentations.

See the attached document. Check the paragraph line spacing of the only line in
the document.

Expected: line spacing is the same as in MSO: it's exactly 13pt.

Actual: line spacing is 200%. When saved to ODF, it's even worse:

The UI already incorporates a "useful" location.  As the document is parsed for
opening from the Start Center, or from system file manager--as the document
frame opens there is a load progress bar rendered on the status bar labeled
"Loading document..."

Normally it flashes up so quickly, you won't notice it. I had to dummy up a 800
page document to show it long enough during normal loads.

Question would be if that status/progress bar does "hang", or could be made to
do so, and if we can extend it with a button widget to abort the loading of a
hung document. It is already in the best location.

I've tried that. The icons just look broken in different sizes. I'll post a
screenshot as soon as I can get my hands on a live distro with 5.3.x. Kinda
like if they had been upscaled by a factor of 1.5 using nearest neighborhood
but in a wrong manner.

In 5.2, they look normal.

Yes, LO can export / import Watermark compatible with MSO Watermarks. Also
Watermark from the TSCP Classification feature can be edited using the
Watermark dialog.

Nope, I checked (an verified with latest daily). This one is about the initial
state when opening the arena dialog for an empty document. A blue background
color is preset as "NEW", but not selected in the color picker.

Yes the status bar isnt a prominent area, as the loading process of a document
isnt intended to be something prominent, as it should only take a few seconds
in the best case scenario. It is only when the loading process takes a long
time is it important for the user to even care about it.

So to me the infobar or a dialog is would be bad UX, as it brings to much
attention to this process, which should be something that users should never
think about. Imagine opening the file open dialog, selecting a document to
open, and then a dialog flicker infront of you during the loading process and
then you see your document after 1 second. Also i tested loading a document and
it only draws the UI (menu bar, toolbars, sidebar, etc) after the document is
fully loaded, so not sure that we could provide an infobar in that scenario.

Yes ideally you should be able to work on an already open document, while
another document is being loaded, but i dont think LO has threaded processes
yet. Firefox just got it a few days ago. :D

write help page for PPmt VBA function.

Instructions

1) Install HelpAuthoring extension, put it in working condition
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Help

2) download the attached help file, it will serve as template.

3) Change references of NPer to PPmt, adjust parameters, check for the Basic
example, check for the equivalent PPMT Calc function (use same numbers, if
necessary).

4) Set the l10n attribute to false on code pure lines and pure numbers to avoid
useless translations.

5) Save and attach to this bug for verification and submission to gerrit

Notes: 
1) No need to touch the embedded files or variables

2) References for this function can be found at
http://www.excelfunctions.net/vba-functions.html but DO NOT COPY CONTENT from
it, instead create your own content based on information from CALC function
PPMT.

The special handling of auto selecting the range that happens when clicking the
Sum button is a good feature and if the function in the list can benefit from
the feature, it should auto select the range, but if it doesnt, then it should
simply insert the function into the cell, just like it would simply insert
'=SUM()' into a field that isnt near a range.

Sorry - no, it's the android app that's at fault =) switching the component.

The problem is that the relative position of the spot on the screen is
different on the two different resolution pictures - I guess we're using
pixels, and not a floating-point / proportional measurement - hopefully an easy
fix for someone =)

I never touched this option.

BTW: There is another 
"fonts" menue unter 
"options" -> "Libreoffice" -> "Fonts"
There was no way to change something.
Therefore I thought there is no way to get rid of the fonts. 

Is it possible because I work partially under 
Linux (Lubuntu LTS) and partially under Windows?

Attached file has two sheets, with cell validation in the B1 cells.

When copy-pasting the B1 cell from both sheets to the firsd sheet of a new
spreadsheet document, the sheet reference part of the validation source becomes
a #REF! error: $Sheet2.$A$1:$A$3 becomes $#REF!.$A$1:$A$3

This may make some sense in itself, as there is no second sheet in the new
document. Adding a new sheet and pasting there gives correct results.

The main problem is that the validation source with #REF! error can be saved to
both ODS and XLSX format, and in the case of XLSX, Excel 2013 considers it an
invalid file.

Is this an Impress remote issue? A documentation issue?

Second § describe an issue of laptop screen vs. projection screen resolution
mismatch with consequences in the presentation quality. Apparently it is not
working as designed.
