The problem has not been resolved.

Khaled has done good work to "fix how line spacing is calculated once and for
all". I am sure he has achieved that for the issues he was dealing with.

However, his work appears to only address the rendering of text onto a page.

The problem many of us are seeing, is when the text is being rendered in
abstraction - where the text is NOT being shown in the context of a physical
page. In that situation there seems to be a completely different calculation
being used for line spacing, and it is affected by the zoom percentage. The
calculation differences become particularly noticeable when there are
associated elements that are assigned a physical size e.g. row height.

THIS line-spacing calculation problem has existed for a long time, but has
become worse and much more noticeable from version 5.3

Does this really make any sense for a Spreadsheet? Multiline cells within a
spread sheet are abnormal and frankly abusive.

As rendered by VCL the text:p lines appear to take a default scale drawn from
now commonly read font metrics against 100% of the set point size.

We can already format -> Cells -> Borders: "Spacing to contents", which is set
by template. But providing enhancement to set line spacing (vertical multiplier
beyond the 100% of font size) for the corner case user abusing a spread sheet
with multiline cells is questionable.

The Calc case is weak, but a stronger case can be made for line spacing of
table cells in Writer. Which IIUC would be implemented the same way. Just not
sure this is much of a requirement in general.

It is valid to generate an outline numbering via the 'Outline & Numbering' tab
of a paragraph or a paragraph style. That is the only way, to get two different
outline numberings into one document, e.g one for the normal text and another
for the appendix.

The current behavior needs improvement, because you need to manually keep
outline level and list level in sync. Therefore I disagree with the solution
"worksforme". You find the request for improvement already in bug 62032.

The confirmation button also reads "Use Microsoft Word 2007-2013 XML Format".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103619] Wrong Behaviour if You Try to Edit a Template which is Read-Only

2017-07-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103619

(In reply to Yousuf Philips (jay) from comment #7)
> I wouldnt be infavour of changing the behaviour, but what behaviour would
> you change it to?

There's already an example of this: the choice "Open Copy" when you try to open
a file that is already opened in a different instance. This is also what you
could do now if the template actually opened, just through multiple steps.

Ok, let's forget the other part.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108812] EDITING - Text display "doubles" on top of itself when deleting letters/numbers in a cell

2017-07-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108812

I have tried resetting my user profile a number of times, and even reinstalling
Libreoffice from scratch -- sadly this did not resolve the problem.

I then tried the "Use printer metrics for test formatting" suggestion. I had
that setting off by default, so I enabled it instead. Regardless of whether it
is enabled or disabled, the same problem persists.

I wouldnt be infavour of changing the behaviour, but what behaviour would you
change it to?

> Similarly, Save on a read-only template should direct to the user's template

I wouldnt change this, as alot of variables can come into play, the most simple
of them being the user opened the template folder in the open dialog and
selected the template file to edit.

I searched in the internet for ideas how to circumvent this problem. I came
across this post:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/69375/calc-active-cell-not-highlighted-or-bordered/
and I found out that I also have the problem deplored there (I did not try LO
Calc before). My picture in the last comment above shows the situation after I
have clicked on cell B4.

Unfortunately I do not understand the description how to overcome the problem
given there. I don't know how to use modeset and do not know if it is supported
om my computer (which is a lenovo T400).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 55651] Let automatically inserted blank pages use style from previous page; and add a blank page for choice

2017-07-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55651

+1 from me too. I want libreoffice to automate many things for me and this
feature is also a must for anyone writing a book or anything similar that will
be printed. Createspace of Amazon says that empty pages could create confusion
and hence should always be marked as intentionally left blank or something.

Viewing the document on BOOK VIEW shows the inserted blank pages so a quick
glimpse helps me insert pages afterwards where needed as a workaround for now.

The "floppy disk" does no longer work as a representation of a physical storage
medium, but has become a widely understood symbol for "save".

There have been some researches on this topic. A start might be at
https://user-prompt.com/de/find-the-best-icon-for-save-as/
https://user-prompt.com/de/how-designers-think-about-save-as/
https://user-prompt.com/de/about-antiquated-metaphors-in-icons/

For me this bug report is a "wontfix".

Right, the behavior should be adjusted as well.
Similarly, Save on a read-only template should direct to the user's template
directory.

Implementing the feature would be very simple, but the ODF specification for
[1] is "The element specifies the name of the initial
creator of a document", which doesnt permit the addition of additional authors
to the element.

If this is integrated into the file properties dialog, then we would likely
need a dedicated line for authors and the ability to modify, add, and delete an
author. You should be able to add the current author, as well as an author that
can be typed out in a text field.

No idea. Such spacing is done by manipulating the DX array by the calling

Having a different wording doesnt changed the behaviour of what LO does when it
opens the template for editing, so an alternative wording will only be
confusing.

> Does it? I'm looking at LO packaged with Ubuntu 17.04 (so not the freshest

If you File > Templates > Save as Template, so the newly modified template will
appear in the template manager, it will save it into ~/Templates/, but yes if
you File > Save of the read-only template, then it will show the save dialog at
the path the original template was located.

Changed Presentation in LO 5.3.3.2

Sent in changed ODP file where I changed the Animation settings on page 2. Now
the fly-ins work as should be. I didn't verify the original LO/OOo version, as
for now it works.

Hi,

Yes, as described the bug is still available. How ever in the "timings"
settings of the Cgmustom Animation (see picture Screenshot from 2017-07-01
11:46:28.png) you can set after which element the animation has to start. This
in in version LO 5.3.3.2 on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108884] New: floppy disk as icon to save files

2017-07-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108884

Bug ID: 108884
Summary: floppy disk as icon to save files
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.7.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: h...@posteo.eu

The icon to save any file is still representing a floppy disk 3,5''. This
device is out of use for decades. I propose to replace this icon by an another
which could be more self explaining.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108864] Debian-Repositories: W: Size of file is not what the server reported

2017-07-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108864

--- Comment #3 from lool-bugrep...@trash-mail.com ---
Hey, thanks for your replies. I think i found the issue causing this messages:

The mentioned page https://www.collaboraoffice.com/code/ is telling to use the
following repository:

> # add the repository URL to /etc/apt/sources.list
> echo 'deb https://collaboraoffice.com/repos/CollaboraOnline/CODE-debian8 ./'
> >> /etc/apt/sources.list

However if we check a file mentioned in my initial message with curl we can see
the following:

curl -I
https://collaboraoffice.com/repos/CollaboraOnline/CODE-debian8/collaboraofficebasis5.3-draw_5.3.10.18-18_amd64.deb

HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
Date: Sat, 01 Jul 2017 09:33:14 GMT
Server: Apache/2.4.10 (Debian)
Strict-Transport-Security: max-age=15768000; includeSubdomains; preload
Location:
https://www.collaboraoffice.com/repos/CollaboraOnline/CODE-debian8/collaboraofficebasis5.3-draw_5.3.10.18-18_amd64.deb
Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1

So if we apply this knowledge and change:

https://collaboraoffice.com/repos/CollaboraOnline/CODE-debian8 ./

to

https://www.collaboraoffice.com/repos/CollaboraOnline/CODE-debian8 ./

we don't get that redirect anymore and apt-get is happy and doesn't throw those
messages anymore.

So to solve this issue here there are two options:

1. Update the https://www.collaboraoffice.com/code/ page with the correct links
starting with www
2. Don't redirect from
https://collaboraoffice.com/repos/CollaboraOnline/CODE-debian8 to
https://www.collaboraoffice.com/repos/CollaboraOnline/CODE-debian8

When entering characters with carons (see attached screenshot) they are cut
off, because all text is shifted upwards. This is a usability issue.
