[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111857] FILESAVE: errors when saving to PPT/X - TABs lost

2017-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111857

Correct, the PPT version saves fine.
I added it for comparison.
The dilemma is that in the PPT version (even though many probably do not use it
anymore) one has the problem of losing the autofit setting (see bug 111859)

1. Create presentation in Impress.
2. Save to PPT
3. Save to PPTX
4. Open PPT with Powerpoint, slide 13 has lost setting to shrink text on
overflow
5. View Master
6. Both Slide Title and text box are "do not autofit"
7. Set both to "shrink"
8. close master
9. happiness restored

10. open PPTX in Powerpoint
11. The "shrink" was not lost.
12. select one of the "unshrunk" slides (e.g. 10)
13. apply master to it
14. all the slides come right.
(This may be a powerpoint problem and not Impress)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109272] Wrong cursor position when deleting a selection in Show Changes mode

2017-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109272

Bug 103458 covers two bugs actually - wrong cursor position and the fact that
currently we can delete stuff multiple times in change-tracking mode. I pointed
to the bug report because you didn't seem convinced.

The universal behaviour is that the cursor is at the start of a selection after
deletion, taking into account how it works in LibreOffice without
change-tracking enabled. That we have a cursor associated with a selection
looks like another bug, but I am not sure.

Done with the gobbledy-gook and technobabble. Blame the user... It's our fault
apparently. How dare we own a computer that doesn't do "xyz"... It's like
owning a car that can only turn right... it's your fault you live on a left
hand bend! Look at all the happpy-clappy people who live on right hand bends!
They don't have any problems with our car. It's your fault. Go and move
somewhere else...That is the line of reasoning we're getting from LO... They
don't seem to get it. Our computers run perfectly well, there are no dodgy
drivers of any ilk... we are running all sorts of 3rd part software with
ostensibly less credo than LO without having techno jargon thrown at us... How
does someone NOT get angry with their response?

Screenshot of the problem

1, In Writer, go to Tools - Autotext in a localized UI.
2, The AutoText window has a category name, "My AutoText" that appears
localized - so far so good.
3, Click the Categories button to open the "Edit Categories" window. It has the
same autotext categories as the previous one, but "My AutoText" does not appear
localized in this one.

AMD replaced Catalyst driver framework with Crimson edition ReLive. You need to
determine if either the Crimson ReLive GUI or system BIOS allows you to control
which GPU (the internal R7 iGPU, or discrete R5 dGPU) is active with
LibreOffice. Often with the switchable graphics--it will be the "low power"
setting.

Fine for me, and all Dutch users.
Would that work too for e.g. Asian languages? Can they localize 1-to-1, or
could they have (does the system allow this) a larger or smaller amount?

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63745

mitc...@live.com changed:

   What|Removed |Added

   Hardware|All |x86-64 (AMD64)
Version|Inherited From OOo |5.4.0.3 release
 OS|All |Windows (All)

Calc 5.4.0.3 release is significantly slower to open, edit and save than Calc
5.3.5.2 for the exact same spreadsheet. Calc 5.4.0.3 also can't open some files
that Calc 5.3.5.2 can easily open. Calc 5.4.0.3 will crash on very large
sheets and show an Allocation failed error dialog on some of the large
spreadsheets that the older version will easily open.

The spreadsheets I use do have a lot of data in them. Only 1 sheet but greater
than 60,000 rows in 6 columns. And 3 charts showing 1 column of data each.

I would look at what was added between Calc 5.3.5.2 and Calc 5.4.0.3 to see
what code causes the 5.4.0.3 to be so slow that it is unusable.

I obolsted some of Ari's comments and attachment because this is not "document

table overlap is.

Thank you very much. This clarifies the situation for me.

I didn't know a specification to that effect. However, what I need to know are
the services. And in by far the most cases I tested for service support. Then
there was an exception...

@Mark : it might help if you told us a little bit more about your connection
setup. At present, all I know from a search on the internet is that RetailEdge
(RTM) is a proprietary point of sale database commercialized by Intel that
requires a dongle for the client machine to be able to connect to the host and
retrieve data.

Please provide at least your connection setup details (ODBC/JDBC/proprietary
driver) used with the ODB file to allow access to the database.

found some OOo docs on this:

http://www.openoffice.org/udk/common/man/spec/assemblyversioning.html

there is another file containing versions:

 unoil/climaker/version.txt

ah! there's a script for that:

 cli_ure/source/scripts/increment_version.pl

it's written in Perl so it can be blindly trusted to do the correct thing.

so with a bit of tweaking this will upgrade all version numbers.

I just selected a random hatch and a random background color and saved to an
ODP. I guess there are actual use cases when it is usefull to have a hatch
background. For example for MSO files, where the default background is white.

Sorry I forgot to save the link.

But a Google finds this problem comes and goes from version to version on all
platforms.

It appears the workarounds work for all platforms.

An additional work around is to remove the user folder from the
Library/Application/Support.

I just tested this work around and it fixed the issue. So it would tend to
indicate that there is a preference setting, maybe this "paper size from
printer" that is screwing things up??

More fodder for the mill:

afaik there is nobody in the project who actually knows anything
about CLI; all that's been done there in LO is that some guy
migrated the code from a deprecated C++ on CLI dialect
to a not deprecated C++ on CLI dialect, and the 64 bit port.

so it looks like these versions are stored in:
 cli_ure/version/version.txt

git log of that file indicates all the *_NEW_VERSION were
incremented in their 3rd digit, while the *_OLD_VERSION
were incremented to cover the previous value of *_NEW_VERSION,
and the *_POLICY_VERSION incremented so its 1st digit
matches the 3rd digit of *_NEW_VERSION.

this happened once for every OOo release, 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.1.1, 3.1...

so i suppose we should adapt a similar approach?

bumping it once per x.y branch should be enough?

i predict this is not going to happen reliably unless Cloph
adds it to some release-engineering checklist.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111861] New: Bad behaviour of status indicator used from basic macros.

2017-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111861

Bug ID: 111861
Summary: Bad behaviour of status indicator used from basic
macros.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: luismiguel.laco...@gmail.com

Created attachment 135587
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=135587&action=edit
Test file.

I am using the status indicator to show progress in basic macros.

Behaviour has changed after version 5 (tested up to 5.4.1.0):

1) When you set text with SetText property after set value no progress bar is
show.

2) When you call SetValue property the first time after initialization no
progress bar is show.

3) When you call SetValue property the next times position of progress bar is
the position of the last call to SetValue.

This behaviour is not present in version 4.7.7.2
In old version behaviour is the most logic:

1) When you set text with SetText property after set value the position of the
progress bar is NOT changed

2) When you call SetValue property progress bar is always show in the position
of the current call to SetValue.

I have made a test calc file with some macros.

To test issue 1 open the attached test file, press button "Start" (Initialises
progress bar to max value of 100),
press "Set value 50" (no progress bar is show), press "Set value 25" (progress
bar is show to 50%), press "Set text" (no progress bar is show).

To test issue 2 and 3 open the attached test file, press button "Start", press
an arbitrary "Set value" button (no progress bar is show),
press another "Set value" button (progress bar is show in the position
indicated by previous button),
press another "Set value" button (progress bar is show again in then position
indicated by previous button).

I save the ODP to PPTX.

Page number is lost in footer, and it does not place it in the the same place
as the original in the first master page. This may be because PPTX has a whole
bunch of Master pages for different formats which are created automatically,
but the slide no is not propagated to the additional master pages

probably the JVM crash again; so i'll claim it's a dupe of 108619.

Double-click for selecting works for named slides. This request is about
unnamed slides. It works in Writer, because in Writer all shapes are named
automatically.

It needs an additional discussion, whether it would be better to switch to
single-click in all cases, as mentioned in bug 64470.

Bug 62851 has the focus on multi-selection, therefore I will not mark this as
duplicate.

Please consider the discussion in bug 90244 about a general rework of the
Navigator.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109070] Configuration lock file warning fails to render and locks program start

2017-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109070

--- Comment #3 from Machiel van Veen ---
We have the same issue in 5.3/4 on Ubuntu 16.04. This caused a lot of our users
not being able to work without help removing the lock. We are scripting around
this for now.

This seems to happen primarily after using our work from home solution (x2go).

confirmed - for some reason tag was placed on 5.4.0 state in translation
module, on master branch instead of from libreoffice-5-3-5 state Unfortunately
cannot tell why it happened :-(

But will do an additional 5.3 build with proper translations, since regular
5.3.6 would only be end of October.

Quit LibreOffice

Probably a little bit easier to notice
1. Open Impress
2. Select Title shape
3. Type something into the textbox
4. Apply a font color
5. Undo applying font (CTRL+Z) -> no effect
6. Undo a second time (CTRL+Z) -> working

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111854] New: Formula objects are permanently deleted when tracking changes

2017-08-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111854

Bug ID: 111854
Summary: Formula objects are permanently deleted when tracking
changes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: frederic.parre...@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr

Steps to reproduce:
- open a new .odt document
- type 'nf' and then click F3 to insert a numbered formula
- go to Edit > Track Changes > Save
- now select the whole document with CTRL-A and deleted
=> the formula object still appears (BTW, there is no way to see the formula is
deleted, it should be strike-through).
- now save the document
=> the formula object is replaced with a box with 'Object 2' written in red
- now select all and discard the change
=> the formula is lost, it does not come back
