I suggest to change the default to "Reference" for * Headings, * Illustrations and * Bookmarks. For Numbered Paragraphs the default should be left to "Page". For the other entries I don't know the best default. ODT files act the same way, so this is just a fundamental difference between LO and MSO. Not easily resolved - although images/frames FORCE the anchor to the top. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112119] New: LibreOffice installer doesn' t add appropriate entries to TrackPoint TP4TABLE.DAT file
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112119 Bug ID: 112119 Summary: LibreOffice installer doesn't add appropriate entries to TrackPoint TP4TABLE.DAT file Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0 all versions Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: petercraigmartin...@gmail.com IBM/Lenovo ThinkPads (and some of their standalone keyboards) have TrackPoint-branded pointing sticks for mousing and scrolling. Scrolling settings for individual applications are found in a TP4TABLE.DAT file. If an application does not have an entry in that file, or if it's wrong or incomplete, TrackPoint scrolling may not work at all in that application, or it may work vertically but not horizontally. In my TP4TABLE.DAT file, the only LibreOffice-related entry I found in my original, manufacturer-supplied TP4TABLE.DAT file was for OpenOffice (soffice.bin), and horizontal TrackPoint scrolling didn't work in Calc. I believe that installers for a number of major applications automatically add appropriate entries for their apps in TP4TABLE.DAT when they are run. This is extremely useful for pointing-stick users, who are able scroll in the new app the same way they do in most of the others. I have been unable to find comprehensive documentation for TP4TABLE.DAT on the Web, and for a user to edit the file himself requires informed guesswork using the summary at the head of the file and tips from other users. I was able to get horizontal TrackPoint scrolling working in Calc by adding the following entry to the Pass 0 rules: ; LibreOffice Calc *,*,scalc.exe,*,*,*,WheelStd,0,9 but I don't know whether it's the best solution. I do know that many users won't take the time and effort to find out how to do it themselves but will instead simply blame LibreOffice for offering poor scrolling support. Presumably, either full documentation is available to software developers or they are better able than users to infer the syntax and options from pre-supplied entries. Either way, I'm certain LibreOffice developers would be better able than users to choose the best settings for the various LibreOffice programs. NOTE: IBM/Lenovo TrackPoints aren't the only pointing-stick mousing and scrolling devices out there. They are commonly found on higher-end laptops and mobile workstations and, in addition to TrackPoint (IBM/Lenovo), are known variously as PointStick (HP), Track Stick (Dell), AccuPoint (Toshiba), FineTrack (Acer), Pointing Stick (Sony, Samsung), StickPoint (Fujitsu), QuickPoint (Fujitsu), NX Point (NEC), C-Stick (Nintendo), and FlexPoint (Sprintek). I don't know whether these other pointing-stick implementations use a TP4TABLE.DAT file or something similar for configuration, but for the millions who use these machines, automatically adding full pointing-stick scrolling support at installation would make LibreOffice more usable out of the box. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101325] Problem with connector type in LibreOffice Draw
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101325 --- Comment #2 from Milan Oparnica --- This affects Impress too - Version of LO is 5.4.0.3 (Linux) It seems that Connector is hard-coded to use the Arrow Style "Arrow" automatically when first put on the drawing/slide. Assuming this, I've managed to make a workaround: 1. Click on menu "Format > Object and Shape > Line" 2. Click on tab "Arrow Styles" 3. Just click on button "Save arrow styles", you will be asked for a location to save "standard.soe" XML configuration file. Default location is ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/config. Save the file and remember the location. 4. Open the file with default plain text editor, or XML editor. There are a lot of nodes in it. 5. The trick is that Connector always uses the arrow defined by node with draw:name="Arrow". You can switch this name with any other node you want as default Connector Arrow Style. For example, I wanted the "Symmetric Arrow" to be used as default, so I switched entries: and to: and I'm including the complete modified "standard.soe" file in attachment. Now I have my Connectors draw out as desired. This is not a replacement for full implementation of Style Management with Connectors, but it will make waiting for it to happen easier. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

If I save that file again (as docx) table width increases again and again without ever doing anything new to that file myself. This doesn't happen if I save to odt file or remove page-border. steps to reproduce: 1- Create a new document and define a page border. 2- Create a table. 3- Save the document as a docx file. 4- Open the docx file and see the difference. 5- You can redo the 4th step over and over and you can see that it increases every time. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105844] FILESAVE: Very slow saving compared to 5.2.5
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105844 --- Comment #3 from jhertel --- Created attachment 135887 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=135887&action=edit Empty document exhibiting the behaviour, password is p It took a while to add more information, as I had to spend some time installing a new version of LibreOffice again, and also had to figure out how to clean the original document. But instead of trying to clean the original, I am simply attaching an empty, new document saved with a password ("p") from LibreOffice 5.4.1.2. Opening that still takes 5 to 7 seconds after entering the password before I am free to type with no lag. Saving it also takes way too long time; it takes several seconds (at least 2 or 3) from the save is initiated until what I type is reflected immediately on the screen. That's too long and ruins the user experience. It's so slow that I cannot upgrade from LibreOffice 5.2 but have to stay on the 5.2 branch until this bug has been fixed. Opening and saving password protected documents like the supplied one was super fast in version 5.2.6.2. I'll probably try to go back to 5.2.7.2 and see if that will do. In LibreOffice 5.4.1.2, saving and opening documents *without* password is super fast with no problems. If you have problems reproducing the bug, maybe the computer you are using is too fast. In that case try with a slower, more normal computer. Not that I believe my computer is slow in any way, but it's not a gaming computer, just an ordinary i5 laptop. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109241] Problem with urllib on https URLs
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109241 --- Comment #9 from kiloran.public+bugzi...@gmail.com --- I've downloaded Process Monitor and run some tests. I'll attached 3 files: 1...Demo_of_bug_109241.ods Contains a macro which exhibits my reported problem 2...ProcMon_for_bug109241_normal mode.txt which contains the ProcMon records for the standard version 5.3.4.2 3...ProcMon_for_bug109241_modified.txt which contains the ProcMon records for 5.3.4.2 with the normal _ssl.pyd replaced by that from LibreOffice Portable 4.0.2.2 In each case, I had Demo_of_bug_109241.ods open, started the ProcMon capture, ran the macro and then stopped the ProcMon capture. I then extracted the ProcMon records from the first occurrence of _ssl.pyd to the last occurrence of LIBEAY32.DLL As previously reported, the standard version of 5.3.4.2 fails with the macro, but the modified version works OK. >From my limited understanding, it seems to me that the correct instance of _ssl.pyd is being used. However, I do wonder about LIBEAY32.DLL. in both ProcMon reports, there seems to be many reference to LIBEAY32.DLL "NAME NOT FOUND". Is this normal? I tried getting ProcMon records for the same process when running LibreOffice in safe mode. The macro ran fine, but I could not see any reference to _ssl.pyd or LIBEAY32.DLL The only non-standard extension I have installed is this: https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/apso-alternative-script-organizer-for-python -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
