[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 101236] Frame style not keeping text centered

Version 4.0.0 does not have the setting in the Styles & Formatting dialog for
centering text within frames. By version 4.4.7 it was added. I did not try the
versions in between to determine when it was added. But in versions 4.4.7 and
5.0.0 the option was available and when a document was opened they both
restored it properly with the text centered, just as it had been saved. Then
sometime between version 5.0.0 and version 5.1.0 it lost the ability to
recognize that the document had been saved with the text centered in the
properties under the Styles and formatting frame settings. It still has not
been corrected as of version 5.4.0 and can only keep the text centered if the
setting has been manually enabled directly in the properties for each
individual frame, not from the Styles & Formatting properties.

It is possible to readd the connection without restarting the app. However, the
uninforming error message upon opening the window is still an issue.

Error message

Add connection to Google Drive for Remote files (account and password)
Close the Remote Files dialog (Cancel)
Go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions and delete LibreOffice
permissions.
Open the Remote File dialog again

Issue: An error is thrown, without any possibility of entering the credentials
again. You can only enter credentials after restarting LibreOffice

It should be possible to remove permissions and add them back freely.
At the very least, the error message should indicate the problem and a possible
resolution.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89566] SIDEBAR: Improving the navigator tab in Writer

2017-09-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89566

I will continue working on this. The 'Navigate By' controls used in the Findbar
are able to be used in the Navigator panel content toolbar. This has resulted
in a fair amount of code reduction. Maybe this is a good place to do a commit
before diving into the headings stuff that Yousuf has suggested in the mockups?
I can post a screenshot for comments if that would be better at this point.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112297] New: the contents of the cells are deleted when you reopen an xlsx file

2017-09-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112297

Bug ID: 112297
Summary: the contents of the cells are deleted when you reopen
an xlsx file
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: h...@elestudiodeprado.com

Description:
Hello:
Two things happen to us:

1. On several occasions, in some .xlsx documents, when we open one of them,
several cells appear with the contents deleted and the format changed
throughout the sheet.
2. We have documents in Google Drive shared with other user (collaborator). We
always create spreadsheets in .xlsx format. On several occasions, when one of
the users opens one of the xlsx files with the Excel program (Office 2010
version) because he does not use Openoffice, this message appears: "the name
can not be the same as the name of the integrated document "(in Spanish," el
nombre no puede ser el mismo que el del documento integrado"). Then, it only
opens if some characters are typed in the window (it does not matter which
characters). You have to write them several times and they must always be
different. "_0" "_FilterDatabase_0" starts to appear. Sometimes you have to
type different names many times and ask to come to form this
"_FilterDatabase_0_0_0_0_0_0_0_0_0_0".

When the file is finally opened, the format of the cells is different from the
one you had when last saved.

We do not know if fello 1 occurs due to failure 2.

Thank you

I doubt I am running out of memory. I have 8GB of RAM. When I fill columns
A-F as described Win Task Manager reports soffice taking just over 1.6GB. When
I try to copy the formula in G2 over the rest of the column, a core of the
processor remains dedicated to LO for some tens of seconds with the RAM used
increasing to just over 1.7GB before the crash occurs. I can avoid a crash by
copying 100,000 rows at a time. I note there is a difference in memory
allocation if I enter =rand() in A1..F1 and then copy those cells to all other
rows (under 1.4GB), compared with creating a complete column A and then copying
the column to columns B-F. I note you are running under Linux: I am running
under Win 7.

You write "already for 5.3".
Well, it does not seem that the question is OK (LIBO 5.3.4.2).
Restarting from just the beginning of my post (about "Welcome to the
LibreOffice xxx Help": Find - The Full-Text Search. The full text search
function in LibreOffice Help allows you to find Help documents that contain any
combination of search terms.) I still am very confusing searching for the
convert function.

Look at the attached odt: going to the the help welcome page and searching for
"convert" (only as an example) I get many oddities in various languages but
nothing about that function.

To find something usefull I have to click on "List of Functions by Category",
then on "Calculation", then on "Mathematical" and finally ... the "CONVERT"
appears, but still nothing about what expected: there it is said "Converts a
value from one unit of measurement to another unit of measurement. The
conversion factors are given in a list in the configuration.
At one time the list of conversion factors included the legacy European
currencies and the Euro (see examples below). We suggest using the new function
EUROCONVERT for converting these currencies." and the examples are
=CONVERT(100;"ATS";"EUR") returns the Euro value of 100 Austrian Schillings.
CONVERT(100;"EUR";"DEM") converts 100 Euros into German Marks.

Hi Pete,

Thank you very much for your explainations and sorry, I thought 'Spacing to
borders' in Text Attributes, and wrote 'Spacing with contents'. See the second
attachment where I set spacing to top border at 0.04". This allows to adjust
the Text frame position. I don't see the text higher in the text area. So this
is only a try.
I see better where is your problem when I open the document in
LO 4.1.0.2.0 Build ID: 103a942746cfe346e87daab62acbd4268c38097

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108638] FORMATTING Text size is not scaled correctly according to the zoom factor

Created attachment 136127

zip file with Screenshots and a new test file

I have tested with the first attached test file "Test_Text_Width_V2.ods" (from
comment 0), means zoomed in and out.
Result:
- I have never seen, that the text doesn't fit to the scaled cell size (no red
arrow appeared).
- At the most zoom factors text was wrapped as with zoom factor 100, but the
spaces between text end and right borders were different.
- At some zoom factors (e.g. 75, 60, 50, 40) the text was wrapped on other
places.

In a second test I have modified the test sheet: When it was zoomed by 400% I
have decreased the cell width so that the place where text is wrapped kept
unchanged, and saved the sheet as "Test_Text_Width_V2a (cell width
smaller).ods" - in the attached zip file. When this sheet is zoomed in or out,
also with zoom factors from 159 and 169 the text is wrapped on other places -
see screenshots in the zip file!

I have also tested with modified version of "Test_Text_Width_V2.ods", where
text was corrected ("demonstrate" instead "demonstate"), results were similar.

The behavior is very much better as in actual version 5.4.1, but still not
perfect.

This kind of gradient fill seems to be missing from ODF format, so it's a
format limitation. Jay, is there an appropriate META bug for such issues?

Note that the bug can still be fixed by importing into the closest valid ODF
gradient fill, and exporting that (or possibly even roundtripping the OOXML
element as it came from MS Office).

Not clear, which info you need.

The response "Personally, I don't consider this as bug if you narrow the
window." told me, that you are not interested in any further discussion.
But: Not all users have all windows maximized! If my window size fits all other
internet pages, but not this one, who is to blame?

I have the impression, that you don't take user remarks seriously.
I reported another bug, which was answered in a similar "killing" way.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112265] Certain fonts in a frame graphic do not have the correct position.

2017-09-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112265

Hi Jacques,
I am not sure what you mean by "Without original document, I only can show how
to change the characters position". Getting the font position right is what I
am trying to do and the problem shows up the same in the attached doc as the
original doc.
The problem seems to be that the "Text Attributes" has been added since v4.1.4
and the defaults for that were not set to make the text look the same as in
v4.1.4 (I upgraded from 4.1.4 to 5.4.1).
For the second problem you say "second placement problem can be modified the
same way with spacing with content", what is the "spacing with content" mean, I
do not see a setting like that, can you let me know? To me this seems to a
similar problem as the first but doing the same thing (changing the Text
Anchor) does not fix the problem of the text being higher in the text area
(highlighted area in FPP2.png vs FPOK2.png) than it was in v4.1.4.
Let me know if you need any more information.
BR
Pete

Thanks for the quick response.

In Displays Prefs (in Arrangement tab), when Mirror is unchecked, the menu bar
can be dragged from one display rectangle to another.

I did some more testing. Sorry, the arrangement and Mirror settings don't make
a difference. When the external display is connected, LibreOffice crashes on
startup. When I disconnect the external display, it runs.

The external display is connected to the HDMI port via an HDMI to DVI adapter.
(The external monitor is an AOC e2450Swd, 24 inch, 1920 x 1080. I don't have a
Thunderbolt display or any other way to connect this monitor.)

I have the Dock on the left. I tried moving it to the bottom, LO still crashes
on startup with the external display connected.

I just installed LO 5.3.6.1, same behavior.

About the expected results, because it has a purpose seen in the light of
comment 3:

Probably a (changeable) interval based save.
1. Re-saving registrymodifications.xcu on every change seems to be a bit
excessive to me (especially because of the increasing file size when using
different applications within the LibO suite). It will end op writing around
400kb every time when touching the highlight or color button (for example;
there are more cases)
2. Being smart an hold of saving until LibO closes isn't that ideal either. For
example when LibO is crashing or for debugging purposes.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111993] Installer associates all MS Office files with LibreOffice even though boxes are unchecked

Mike Kaganski changed:

 Resolution|--- |NOTABUG

Well, on the second thought, it might not be a bug.

This only happens if the files don't have default applications assigned.
LibreOffice doesn't actually assign itself as default application, it registers
itself as an application *able* to open these files. E.g., it writes itself to
the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\<.EXT>\OpenWithProgIDs, and to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RegisteredApplications, which points to
Capabilities.

It appears that Windows itself selects the only available application able to
handle the file extension as its assigned handler. This may be seen with .docx,
which has default handler out of the box (to WORDPAD). Installation of
LibreOffice does not change this, it only adds a new item to Open With context
menu.

Since it's an OS feature, not something that LO installer does wrong, I suppose
it may be closed NOTABUG.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112294] New: Print Comment Section, but no comments and not possible to disable it

2017-09-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112294

possible to disable it
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.6.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tantenklat...@web.de

2. print it by activete comments to right side
3. create new document without comments
4. print it

Actual Results:
area of right side still exists for comments but no possiblity to disable
comments for printing

Expected Results:
if no comments, no area for printing comments should be for printing

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111959] Unnecessary selection activity after a change of locale which forces a change of separator character

2017-09-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111959

Well - it is a great bisection =) however - it is really unclear what is
happening there. Possibly the destruction lifecyľe of the window changed
somehow - such that some mouse event is triggered on the underlying window
instead of this message dialog on top.

If you move the "shows a message about change separator character" - so that it
is not above the underlying window - does that affect behavior ? =)

Thanks !

No crash for me with LO5361, but perhaps I am misunderstanding how to reproduce
the behaviour.

In step 3, when you write "Drag menu bar to external display", what exactly do
you mean ?

My setup is Thunderbolt connection from MBpro 2015 to Apple Thunderbol 27"
display

I unset mirroring, then started LibreOffice from my MBPro, and dragged the
StartCenter to the TB display monitor --- no crash.

2017-09-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

notes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.0 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: low
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gti...@gmail.com

Attachment 94797 from Bug 75548 used to freeze Writer but it doesn't with 5.4.1
and 6.0+
There's another problem with that 2007 DOCX: "ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM
{"citationItems":[{"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/135266/items/JDFPJN4K"]}]}";
instead of endnotes.
Repro with 3.3 and 6.0+. OO doesn't opet it even briefly.
This problem doesn't exist if docx saved in MSO as new docx.

The 3rd test is a combination of the first two. The instructions for the second
test can blank every other row in the entire block or just the first column.

The idea is to show that only the columns with every other row blank are slow.
Nearby full columns are fast.

...
Change column A so it is blank every other row.
  Delete the value in A2
  Select A1-A2, copy to clipboard.
Select A1:A32000, paste, yes to overwrite.

that sounds like a locale dependent thing
where even if it __is__ wrong, and we change it, we will break stuff
