Its a bad design decision if the rendering is broken (i.e. line heights and glyph scaling do not match or align between modules and DE render engines) when there is no _compelling_ reason to change it. Other more fundamental issues in font rendering, VCL composition, and canvas layout have to be resolved/refactored before this, i.e. bug 103322, bug 44267 Doing it now would just make a mess of what is already kind of fragile. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101719 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTOURBUG --- Comment #12 from V Stuart Foote --- OK, so spent some time with this. I also am not convinced the issue is LibreOffice's installer. This appears to be common with the CS/CC suite installs and points to an Adobe installer issues [1]. I've only got CS5 to work with, and as Adobe did not use .MSI packaging--so can not open the installer with ORCA to review what would be laid down as permissions for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths stanzas However, not just Photoshop, but Adobe Flash Catalyst, Dreamweaver and Fireworks all are assigned the EVERYONE => Read Only settings (it is not inherited). While Acrbat, Bridge, Flash, Illustrator, and InDesign all have more reasonable User => Read Only and Administrators => Full Control. Technically the EVERYBODY is not wrong--but also not correct--looks like Adobe screwed that up. Otherwise having to enable EVERYONE => Full Control is flat out a security flaw. I doubt that state was left by the Adobe installer. The correct way to fix this is to open the KEY, set Permissions--and change Owner to Administrators (select replace child object permissions) _AND_ deleting the EVERYONE entry. Absent an actual installation log of Creative Suite/Creative Cloud showing the permissions set, and a log of LibreOffice actually touching those KEYs in registry comfortable closing NOTOURBUG =-ref-= [1] https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2193296 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113517] Setting line spacing for 'Default Style' paragraph style to 1.15
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113517 --- Comment #9 from Yousuf Philips (jay) --- (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #7) > Again, my concern with setting any size other than 100% is that calculating > the line height of the font gets implemented differently in each rendering > scheme, and can vary for rendering objects in VCL and to sd Canvas. So if i'm understanding this correctly, there is an internal problem with LO with calculating line heights that aren't single, but then how does it cope with this problem when the user sets this, as most users do, or a template sets this, or if a document opens and it is set? > Concerns are less about the "Default" paragraph style--and more about the > way the UI for other objects will break by making this shift in multiline > height spacing for paragraphs. Can you provide a document showing this breakage. > Especially as there is really _no_ valid > reason to use spacing other than the included leading of a well designed > font at 100% of its lineheight. Tell a document author or a web designer that there is no valid reason to use line spacing other than single and they will laugh their heads off. Even the APA standard requires double line spacing for its documents. If there is no valid reason, then why do we even have the option to do it? > Change the default in templates to use Text Body set to 115% lineheight, > fine. But, leave the lineheight alone to not introduce cross platform font > rendering issues in mixed layout with non-style based objects. Wasnt the problems with font rendering and line heights supposed to be solved with moving to harfbuzz and the cross-platform consistent line spacing. So in a nutshell what i'm getting is that using a line spacing other than single for Default is problematic internally for LO and that is the reason not to do it and not that using a non-single line spacing is a bad design decision. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113551] FILESAVE: Broken import document now even more broken in MSO 2010 after a RT
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113551 Justin L changed: What|Removed |Added Summary|FILESAVE: Broken document |FILESAVE: Broken import |in MSO 2010 after a RT |document now even more ||broken in MSO 2010 after a ||RT --- Comment #2 from Justin L --- Yuck: a terribly designed document full of unused tables in tables which runs right to the edge of the paper (or past). Prior to the regression, import table spills off the screen, appears to be blank, and miraculously the layout matches the number of pages (11) seen in Word 2003. After the regression, the table runs to the print margin (not to the edge of the page), appears to be blank, and is shortened to 7 pages long. Reversing the column width (from 99%, 1% to 1%, 99%) mostly "fixes" the document for both before and after the regression. I don't know why MSWord allows a 100% table to spill over the edge of the page. I'd guess it is a bug on their part related to all those table-in-tables somehow. Hopefully a simpler document shows up that better exposes any bugs. This document that already hide all of the content is only unusable in a different way now. The regression patch was for import. This bug report primarily focuses on export, so that means an uncovered existing bug? The huge number of pages is because of the 1% width column, so the content goes on forever now that it isn't hidden off-page. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Thanks! english version: Libreoffice calc v5.4 (stable version) is showing the last zero of a number (of a currency), but if i import the csv-files in a management-software, the last number (of zero) will be ignored. examples: 15,60 will be 1,56, 1347,80 -> 134,78 and 1342,10 -> 134,21. With libreoffice calc 5.3.6 and excel too, all it's great! PS: I do it month ago, so i'm not the problem! german version: In LibreOffice Calc 5.4 ("Stable" also aktuelle Version) werden die letzten Nullen, in einer erstellten csv-Datei, zwar angezeigt, doch beim Import in die Warenwirtschaft (WaWi) wird diese Null ignoriert. Steps to Reproduce: you can't, because in libreoffice the numbers are shown good, but after import into management-software the numbers are bad!
