[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113894] New: [Regression] Pasting text from Writer in Calc formula field doesn't strip formatting

2017-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113894

Bug ID: 113894
Summary: [Regression] Pasting text from Writer in Calc formula
field doesn't strip formatting
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ze...@openmailbox.org

Description:
Text copied from Writer and pasted in Calc's formula field used to strip
formatting in LO 5.2.7.2 and before. On 5.4.2.2 this behaviour has changed,
preserving formatting.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy some text from Writer that is formatted
2. Try to paste it in Calc's formula field

Actual Results:
Pasted text is formatted (e.g. font size is bigger than it should be if
non-formatted text were to be pasted, wrong font, etc).

Expected Results:
Pasted text should have formatting stripped and use Calc's cell's formatting.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Tooltip for the formula field in Calc claims that it's called "Input line".

Same as bug 98944. Quote:
This thing happens because MS highlighting has only 15 highlighting color and
when you save Writer text background \ highlighting to an MS format it is
converted to this color palette.
It's the default behavior, but you can change this at Tools -> Option ->
Load/Save -> Microsoft Office, to save Writer text background as MS Shading and
so colors won't change. Nut in this case when you open that *.doc file in MS
Word you could not change the text background with highlighting tool, but with
the shading tool:
https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/hub/2011/04/05/how-to-select-more-highlight-colors-in-word/

Before the 5.0 version sometimes we saved Writer text background as shading
(doc, docx), sometimes as highlighting (rtf). From that version an option is
added, so the user can select the preferred behavior. Highlighting became the
default, because on LO UI text background is called highlighting. This option
can be set also via user profile.

That was the fix for bug 107012 to have correct date order when converting
between locales ... For Excel the format is needed in en-US locale context
(where date order is MDY) but Excel does not handle the date particle order for
the target locale. Only thing we can do is ignore change of date order when
converting for Excel export.

With 17.10 only the menubar is showing, which your patch will likely fix if its
backported to 5.4. Also the full screen toolbar which is supposed to be
floating is docked and if i try to drag it as floating it wont move.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113885] Crash in: _ZNSt5dequeImSaImEE16_M_push_back_auxIJRKmEEEvDpOT_

2017-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113885

I think you've definitely found the crashing line. That appears to be the only
std::deque::push_back

pScreen is just a GdkScreen *pointer* though and nMonitors just a number so
custom classes doesn't arise, just as well be two integers really, so perhaps
the problem is with the maScreenMonitors or above in the stack trace

I can't actually see how one could get from vcl::Window::AcquireGraphics to
GtkSalSystem::countScreenMonitors

countScreenMonitors is called either from GtkSalSystem::GtkSalSystem which
should be done long before now or from screenSizeChanged and monitorsChanged
which should be called from signal callbacks which isn't the case here.

so I don't know what's going on here. I feel a more generic bug further up the
stack though.

This dialog does no longer exist in current versions (5.3.7 and 5.4.3). The
current workflow is to first import the image and then set the kind of filling.
The current versions have an item "Custom", where you can select a percent
value and a check box "Scale" to decide, whether the value is relative to the
slide size or relative to the image size.

But the dialog has no options, to easily get the percent value, which is needed
to scale the image with keeping ration to height or width. Therefore I set this
to enhancement request.

BTW, the adapter I use for the HDMI 4K output is the Microsoft

[3000x2000 @150%] shows lines as I expect to see them. It's the external
display, 43" 4K [4096 x 2160 @100%] monitor driven through the Cable Matters DP
1.2 which is experiencing the Lost Lines and/or missing icons issue.
Overriding the DPI behavior makes the problem disappear.

In the majority of applications, this is represented by having the property
blank or in 'empty state' where the properties of multiple selected items
conflict.

That way, if the user wants to change that property for all items they can, or
if they are changing another property, it remains unaltered.

I mean - even Excel '97 does this... it's not like it's a new innovation here..

How would I check permonitor, permonitorv2, or unaware?

Here is what I did; I set the LibreOffice5.4.2.2 x64 desktop shortcut
"Compatibility" to "Override high DPI scaling behavior" to "Scaling performed
by" [Application], [System], [System (Enhanced)]. All three modes seem to work
with SCalc.

Turn off "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and the problem of missing or
extremely light horizontal cell lines reappear.

Either of the "System" compatibility modes is desirable. The "Application"
setting makes the application look like it's been zoomed to 2x... large and
gross.

After some more testing, this is an issue with rendering the exported pptx in
PowerPoint for Mac. PowerPoint for Windows (MSO2007) shows the GDI table fine
as you say.

This happens irregardless of whether I use LO Mac or Windows to export the pptx

So then the question is if this is a compatibility bug in LO, or a bug in
PowerPoint for Mac and Apple's rendering engine in Preview and Keynote.

Does "Text encapsulation" sound too old school, not user friendly or not easily
understood. For me it is the least unambiguous, but the widest understanding is
desirable, especially if the interface is not in the users first language.

Seeing the 12 same reports in crashreporter, let's put this one to NEW.
Searching about what could segfault when creating std::pair, I found this:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19009070/stdmake-pair-segmentation-fault-with-custom-class
Since "pScreen" type is GdkScreen*, this could be the pb.

Caolán: thought you might be interested in this one since it concerns gtk part
(+virtual desktop).

2017-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113888

Bug ID: 113888
Summary: Setting Original for background image ignores dpi
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Created attachment 137816
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=137816=edit
Example with same image as backgound and as graphic object

Open attached document. It has three master pages. The first master page has an
image with 240dpi as background, the second master page has an image with 96
dpi as background, the third master page has solid color.

The third slide has the images inserted. Here the dpi values are respected. In
the crop dialog, you will find both have 100% size.

The pink rectangle has the desired size of width 9cm and height 4cm to make
size comparison easier.

Expected behavior: The images on the background are sized as given by there
pixels and their dpi setting, same as when the images are inserted directly on
to the slide.

@devs: searching about deque in vcl part of code, I found "typedef
std::deque > ScreenMonitors_t;" on gtksys.hxx
Searching about ScreenMonitors_t + "push_back", I found this:
109  for (gint j(0); j != nMonitors; ++j)
110  {
111  GdkRectangle aGeometry;
112  gdk_screen_get_monitor_geometry(pScreen, j, );

in GtkSalSystem::countScreenMonitors()
see https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/vcl/unx/gtk/gtksys.cxx#113

@reporter: just to be sure, do you use several monitors?

Also, are you able to reproduce the crash?
If yes, could you try with another rendering, I mean:
- launch a terminal,
- type one of these:
   - for gen rendering: export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen
   - for kde rendering: export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kde4
- launch LO with your file

Created attachment 137814
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=137814=edit
Add Fields not working when Report based on a select all query from an Alias

Report editor does not always correctly find list of field names when Data
Content is a query using "*" (select all fields) and based on an underlying
query which declares a field name alias.

1) Open the attached demonstration data base,

2) Open Report then Edit 'A report',

3) Open Add Field,

Bug: Notice that the available fields are: ID and Txt.

Expected them to be: ID and Txt-Alias.

(The Data Content of 'A report' is Query_Query_Table1. Query_Query_Table1 is
just a "*" select of Query_Table1.)

If you edit this report and change the Data Content to Query_Table1, then Add
Field correctly shows the available fields as: ID and Txt-Alias.

Workaround: If you Copy Query_Query_Table1 to Query_Query_Table2, then Edit the
report, and change the Data Content to Query_Query_Table2, then Add Field
correctly shows the list of fields as ID and Txt-Alias.

  Hardware: All

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Description:
I work in LibreOffice Writer at home and used never to have a problem saving
docs as .docx and opening them at work in MS Office. Now they won't open and
the doc appears in folders as having no extension, even when I put one in again
manually. Pages can't read them either, though it will accept manually added
extensions.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.click 'save as' in a writer document
2.select .docx
3.close document
4.open document in MS=Word
5. MS-Word says it can't open extensionless files.
6. Manually add .docx to document name.
7. Click to open, but doesn't work.

Actual Results:
Document didn't open

Expected Results:
Document should have opened in MS-Word as a Word document.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
Pages can open the document as a Pages document if I manually add the .docx
extension.

Even if this is true, is it realistic someone will fix it for slow comps?
Unlikely.
Since already 3 of us couldn't, I set to Needinfo until you find reasons (and
update title) or close it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113882] New: Report editor' s Sorting and Grouping is not always updated after a Data Content change

2017-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113882

Bug ID: 113882
Summary: Report editor's Sorting and Grouping is not always
updated after a Data Content change
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bridgeportcontrac...@gmail.com

Created attachment 137813
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=137813=edit
DB to demo bug

In Report editing, the Sorting and Grouping Dialog is not always updated after
Data Content is changed.

In the attached bug demonstration database if you:

1) Click on Reports | Edit ReportA

2) Open the Sorting and Grouping dialog (using button at top)

3) Then open Report Navigator (using another button at top) | Report | Data tab
and change Content (data source) from Table1 to Table2,

4) They change the focus back to the Sorting and Grouping Dialog and try to
update Txt1 (from Table1) to change it to Tex2 (from Table2),

Bug: You can still only select Txt1 but not Txt2.

In other words Sorting and Grouping is not getting the message that the
underlying data content has changed.

Even if you close and re-open the Sorting and Grouping Dialog this problem does
not go away.

Workaround: If you first change the Content from Table1 to Table2, and then
later open Sorting and Grouping, then as expected, Txt1 can be changed to Txt2.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113881] New: [Regression] Missing scrollbar in the "Navigator" sidebar in Writer

2017-11-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113881

Bug ID: 113881
Summary: [Regression] Missing scrollbar in the "Navigator"
sidebar in Writer
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ze...@openmailbox.org

"Navigator" sidebar in Writer used to have visible vertical scrollbar in LO
5.2.7.2 and before, but it was missing when I opened LO after updating it to
5.4.2.2.

Initially I thought that scrollbar was removed from the Navigator, but after
resizing sidebar to bigger size scrollbar re-appeared.

After increasing size of sidebar I am no longer able to reproduce the problem,
since minimal width size of the sidebar is wider than the size that causes the
sidebar to disappear – perhaps problem only affects users who updated LO from
older version and still have the sidebar with a lower width than the new
minimal width.

Perhaps sidebar should have a check for whether its current width is bigger
than new minimal width, and increase its width automatically if it's not?

To keep this (nota) bug 'complete', a different, more regular document issue:
1. Open the attached file
2. Select the vertical scroll bar, left click & hold, scroll up and down.
Scrolling behavior isn't that great in LibO6

If the bibisect is correct, then this is the specified range (between latest
good/bad source commits), since bibisect-43all is a coarse bibisect repo:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?qt=range=d6f2418d0828ec4275355502ae3f87c80e16e8f5..62f4128d74179c6211fc961845182bf2956e3323

I tried to verify, and am not sure of the behavior. Yes, it's there, but
somewhat different than in 5.4, like I have to hold the button further in the
old version for this to trigger.

Another scenario that shouldnt trigger retranslation (atleast definitely not
for languages that dont have capitalizations like CJK and RTL) is if the
capitalization changes in english (e.g. 'First/Last _name/Initials' to
'First/last _name/initials') which did cause alot of retranslations in dialogs
in 4.4.
