https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113941 --- Comment #1 from Mike Kaganski--- What is the problem described in this issue exactly? Do we have a community request? (I don't mean that we *should not* change the defaults; only that we should not simply copy some app's behaviour without a reason.) The defaults should just enable most users to start working on their documents with minimal effort. If the world population's trend is to prefer sans, then it's OK to comply; so - do we have an evidence? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Thanks for advice! It is different behavior in comparison to 6.0 and 5.3, as well as to Microsoft Excel, where it is enough to select formula with Ctrl + / and putting cursor into the input line. This change in behavior is not mentioned also in list of "improvements". And sorry for incomplete instructions in bug report! After clicking (single click) into E2 and pressing "Ctrl" + "/" or alternatives on other keyboards to select array formulas (https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Array_Functions) you need to put cursor into input line or press F2 to enter into edit mode, as it is written in help documentation. It looks like the option for entering into edit mode by putting cursor into input line is broken. If I'm putting cursor into input line after Ctrl + /, I can't get to edit mode also by pressing F2. I should press Esc to leave input line and then I can select array formula by F2. It's not a big problem, because there is easy workaround with F2, but still something is broken and program behaves slightly different than it is written in help documentation. It's better to fix it before a version recommended for enterprises is released and people are disappointed with something "not working as they used to". I am using Base and had the problem with 5.3.7. I switched to 5.4.3 and still am seeing it. I am using the embedded database option. Note I have been using libreoffice base for a LONG time, before 2011, all on the SAME database which has grown I have been using it mostly on the same laptop for the past 4 years. In the process of looking at various forms for my database or reports, libreoffice "hangs". I can wait 30 minutes and it does not come back!! I started having this problem in the last few months. I am trying the LinuxMint standard LibreOffice package which is 5.1.6.2 to see if the problem occurs. So far, there is no evidence of this problem. I WILL UPDATE this report if the "hanging" problem PERSISTS or NOT. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105225] Color palette cannot be chosen in various places
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105225 --- Comment #27 from Jim Raykowski--- Here is a patch that uses the Area tab with relevant buttons displayed according to background needs. Character, Sections, and Table for Writer are functional in this patch. The Edit Sections Options still has the bug of not displaying current background in the tab after a document has been closed and reopened. This is a bug in the sections code itself. Table background is only by cell. A workaround for the 'by cell, row or table' drop down in the old background tab is to select rows, columns, or entire table and then apply background. https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/44929/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113933] New: Incorrect font rendering with Impress
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113933 Bug ID: 113933 Summary: Incorrect font rendering with Impress Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0 all versions Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Impress Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: gibt...@gmx.de Hello everyone, I would like to report a small but pretty annoying error in LibreOffice Impress, appearing in all versions I tested so far, including the latest release. Mainly it is just a "visual" problem, but a really problematic one that mainly forces me to switch to PDF export and PDF presentations. If you create a small presentation including some text on a slide (even black text on a white slide without anything else reproduces this error), it looks perfectly ok in the editing window. However, as soon as you open the presenter console with hardware acceleration enabled, you see extremely ugly fonts with pretty annoying rendering artifacts. If you disable the hardware acceleration, the fonts will look better, but other things like shapes or included SVG-figures are badly rendered. Interestingly, with enabled hardware acceleration, this included non-text stuff like SVG-figures look great, even embedded fonts in them look perfect. Hence, I only can conclude that there is something going wrong with the rendering of normal text boxes with enabled hardware acceleration. I also would like to emphasize that in editing mode, everything always looks pretty alright, the bug only appears in fullscreen presentation mode. I also tried all kinds of different view and rendering settings (OpenGL etc.), this problem still appears. Further I'm using a Windows 10 / Linux dual boot configuration, and this issue only appears in the Windows version of LibreOffice. If I switch to Linux (KDE neon LTS), the fonts look perfect with or without hardware acceleration, only disabling it will result in badly rendered SVG-figures. But of course, if I keep the hardware acceleration enabled, everything looks perfect. There is only one small error appearing sometimes depending on the way how SVG-figures are placed closed to text; sometimes I get some artifacts visible as thin white lines "cutting through" the letters of the respective text. I don't know if this is somehow related, but the problem is much more tolerable. Interestingly it does only appear on Linux, not on Windows. A possible workaround is to use the PDF export and present the slides using a PDF viewer. However I would like to use the presenter console directly to avoid PDF exports (pretty annoying if you want to change something on a slide and always reexport everything). I also created a topic dealing with this issue in the LO forum; since there has no solution been found, I would like to report this as a bug. Here is the link to my previous question, there is also an example image showing the problem: https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/98075/impress-incorrect-font-rendering-in-presentation-mode/ I hope that this can be easily fixed... "Export to PDF" is no printing, because it allows embedding the document, security settings, signatures and watermark. It is a setting in section "print". Such setting should not influence other exports. For example, if you select "Brochure" in the printer settings, I'm sure, you still want the pdf to have the normal page order. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113932] New: Make Select text by clicking in Margins MSO compliant
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113932 Bug ID: 113932 Summary: Make Select text by clicking in Margins MSO compliant Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: magal...@gmail.com Created attachment 137852 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=137852=edit example file for line and row selection Make Select text by clicking in Margins MSO compliant In MS Word you have following behavior when clicking in the left margin: mouse cursor changes to an arrow in the margin, indicating selection tool 1 click = select line 2 click = select paragraph 3 click = select all in LO (now using 5.4.2.2) Mouse cursor remains a text entry symbol (I) 1 click = moves cursor to beginning of the line 2 click = unpredictable, selects a word, few words or a paragraph 3 click = unpredictable, mostly undo selection When it comes to tables there is another annoying difference: In Writer the mouse cursor changes to an arrow in front of a table row and you can then select the row by clicking, or several rows by dragging down. But you only have 1mm of room to do that, where in word you can use the whole margin. Outside of 1mm zone it moves cursor to left cell and dragging down selects cells in first column, which is strange behavior. Another difference is that in a MS Word table you can select a cell by clicking in the top-left-corner of the cell (mouse cursor shows arrow). LO does not have this. Suggested change: Make writer MS Word compliant in selecting lines and table rows in the left margin. The MSO way is clearly superior and more visible. The most important part of this is the one-click-selection of lines. I use one-click selection a lot -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
