Description:
Spinoff of bug 113091 (based on comment 5). The CPU usage is pretty high for
deleting some content with backspace.

This is about the small bump (of around 5%).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attachment 137565 file based on bug 113067
2. Place the cursor and the end of the latest word on the first page
3. Hold backspace and monitor CPU usage



Actual Results:  
A bump in CPU usage from 20% (LibO5.0) to 25% (since 5.1)

Expected Results:
Should be less CPU intensive


Reproducible: Always

well, gtk2 also I Imagine as well as gtk3. Looks like the gif is detected as a
jpg, that filter set on the dialog as the current filter as a place to stash
the detection of the true type and the generic file dialog will return that,
while the gtk file picker will refetch the type based on the filename.

Hi!

5.1.6.2 Is the "standard" deb file package provided by LinuxMint 18.2
5.3.7 and 5.4.3 were downloaded from the LibreOffice site as deb-file packages.

When I switch, I always do a complete un-install:
  sudo apt-get purge libreoffice*.*
  sudo apt-get purge libreoffice-*
  sudo apt-get purge libobasis*

Lately the first command clears out everything.  Then I install.  I either use
the LinuxMint software gui (for 5.1.6.2) OR for the latter 2

cd ../something/DEBS/
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

I can confirm with 32bit LO, win7-64bit. No crash (no patience from me to wait
), but I killed soffice after 10 minutes. Excel can open this file immediately.
Setting as new.

Printing "All" and "Pages" depends on the defined print ranges.
The version Buggy has a print range on sheet A.
IMO that is the reason.

try the preview Print dialog.
1 - Active sheet e.g. 1.
Print preview empty with Selected Sheet.
Print preview 1 page with All Sheets.

2 - Active sheet A
Print preview 1 page with Selected Sheet.
Print preview 1 page with All Sheets.

IMO not a bug.

I can repro with the document. On a fast system, it is best tested by holding
down a key and listening to the CPU fans rev up.

No CPU strain or slowness observed with 3.6.7

@Ralph : we need more information than what you have provided.

You mention that the problem started a few months ago: the version numbers you
mention weren't released a few months ago, certainly not 5.3.7 or 5.4.3, so we
would need to know when the problem first appeared and with which version of
LibreOffice.

Additionally, you mention that you have been using the same embedded database
for the past 4 years. It could be that your database has unfortunately become
corrupt, this is a known drawback of using the embedded hsqldb 1.8 engine.

If you have a backup, then I would suggest using a copy of that to test with
the latest production releases to see whether you can still reproduce the
problem.

You mention that you can't reproduce the problem with 5.1.6.2, which is the
version provided by the distribution (Mint Sarah ?)

First, DateAdd() expects a Date or date serial number, so what you pass as
integer is the number of days since the null-date (1899-12-30). Nevertheless
the calculation seems wrong. Investigating.

I feel that this would be a worthwhile enhancement, but unfortunately am not
able to help out with coding.

The comment about the form description or the way to use the form could appear
as a tooltip. I believe that this is currently possible when a form is already
opened and the HELP property is filled in (or is it the URL property ?).
Anyway, I believe that this functionality exists at a "form open" level.
Perhaps it would be possible to take the comment inserted at the form level and
display it here with a right mouse button click ?

As regards the creation date, modification date, etc properies, the old
template manager had a toggle view switch that allowed you to display this
information, or at least part of it. It was housed in a window that showed a
preview of the template. As Forms within ODB files are ODF documents, it should
be possible to achieve the same thing here with toggle switch in the right hand
window instead of displaying a preview of the Form (currently there is a drop
down menu that allows the user to choose either "None" or "Document". Perhaps a
"Properties" entry could be added here that the user could toggle to.

Description:
It was reported on the German M-L that the help is incorrect when describing
how to enter the string for the date. Indeed, it does seem wrong, or rather
incomplete, but that is tangential to what is to follow:

1) Open a Writer document
2) Create a new macro module in the document with the following :


Sub example_dateadd
MsgBox DateAdd("m", 1, 31012004) &" - "& DateAdd("M", 1, 31012005)
End Sub

Try and execute the macro.


Using the above:

- if use double quote characters around the date string, I get various error
messages, such as "unsuported type", or "unsupported operation" depending on
which way I type the string separators (dots or slashes);

- if I use as in the above example, i.e. no quotes around what is essentially
an integer, I get a MsgBox that displays "31/01/32767 - 31/01/32767" which is
obviously incorrect.


This latter behaviour is the one being reported here.

Patch has been submitted but for some reason it doesn't work. Question is if
shift+ctrl+U should still be used since Gnome takes this shortcut for the
unicode input.

Assigning the shortcut shift+ctrl+U to Format > Double Underline replaces the
selection with an underlined U. Everything works well with shift+ctrl+W.

Issue happens for the planned change in
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/45150/ for bug 113939 on 6.0 as well as LibO
Fresh with manual configuration.

Double Underline enables Underline in menus and toolbars, so the functions seem
to depend on each other.

Just a note: I don't get the "working" behaviour in 3.6. Bookmarks should not
be exported as PDF bookmarks, only headings etc.
Example document exhibiting the working behaviour in 3.6 might be good.

bar :)

The quote from 'the manual' says Headings and TOC lines with hyperlinks are
exported as PDF. Not that bookmarks are exported.

Description:
When I switch to vertical layout, underline become not consistent for text
including CJK and Western scripts. Strikethrough does not been affected.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert -> Frame -> Frame Interactively
2. Input 測試abg測試 into frame
3. Click Underline button on the toolbar
4. Select the who font, then set font face as Source Han Serif SC
5. Copy & paste the frame
6. Right click the second frame, then click "Properties"
7. Click "Options" tab at Options dialog, then set Text direction as
Right-to-Left (Vertical)

Actual Results:  
In the second frame, underline become not consistent, but inserting spaces will
making it disapeared. See my snapshot and PDF ("printed" by PDFCreator).

Expected Results:
Underline should keep its consistency for text including CJK and Western
scripts.

An ODF with  that is exported to PDF with
'Export bookmarks as named destinations' will get a named destination
'Test5F2'. The character '_' is changed to '5F'.

The named destinations in PDF files can be investigated with qpdf.

qpdf --qdf --object-streams=disable in.pdf out.pdf

This gives e.g.:

The destinations that LO writes out are points on pages (/XYZ). One could point
to rectangles by using /FitR instead of /XYZ. Such a rectangle cannot span page
boundaries.
