It's not "can't open2 but rather "very slow to open".
My comp:
LO 6.0+ 400 sec for XLS
LO 6.0+ 300 sec for XLSX
MSO 2013 60 sec for XLS (Excel also opens it slowly)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114159] New: [META] Calc Threaded Calculation bugs and enhancements

2017-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114159

Bug ID: 114159
Summary: [META] Calc Threaded Calculation bugs and enhancements
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha0+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: suokunl...@126.com

Tor Lillqvist (and others) have done a lot to add the Calc feature of Threaded
Calculation (i.e., multi-threading / parallelism). It is now enabled by default
in version 6.0+.

Since this is a new feature, we expect that a lot of bugs may appear which may
be related to this. This is a meta tracker for Calc Threaded Calculation bugs.

Make threaded calculation the default (when OpenCL is not used)
Introduce a configuration setting to turn it off. For now, can also be
turned off with the environment variable SC_NO_THREADED_CALCULATION,
but that is probably not something we want to keep or guarantee
staility of. (LO looks at way too many environment variables already.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73898] EDITING: visible comment partially dissapears when editing over a frozen column

2017-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73898

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Warm Regards,
QA Team

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114158] New: FILEOPEN DOCX: Color 'Automatic' of characters in a textbox not recognized

2017-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114158

Bug ID: 114158
Summary: FILEOPEN DOCX: Color 'Automatic' of characters in a
textbox not recognized
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.0 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bugzilla@mkr.email

Description:
The test case has a box filled with text in color „Automatic“. In this context
that means black color (value #00). But LO interprets the color as plain
white (value #FF). (only LO 4.4 and newer.)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Mark the invisible text in the box by clicking inside the box and moving the
cursor.
2. Open the context menu by clicking right.
3. Choose „Character“.
4. Choose „Font Effects“. → Font color is set „White“.
5. Click on „Font color“ and choose „Automatic“.
6. Click „OK“. → The font is now displayed in black color- So black is correct,
if the color is set to „Automatic“.

Actual Results:
The color of the characters in the text box is set to white (value #FF.

Expected Results:
The color of the characters in the text box is set to "automatic".

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
The original file (not included, big file) was created another person with MS
Word, but I made a minimum test case from it with „ThinkFree Office Word“.
There I set the color of the font to white respective black and saved them. LO
shows the correct color in these files. They are attached:

„2 lines in document.xml added, if color is set to white (#FF).docx“ and
„4 lines in document.xml added, if color is set to black (#00).docx“

1st doc: in word\document.xml are added in lines 97
and 148
2nd doc: in word\document.xml are added in lines 86,
98, 138 and 150

How older versions of LO handle this issue:

1. Open test case with a LO version 3.6 to 4.2 (LO 4.4 and more recent behave
like the lastest build.)
2. Click in the white space above the black line on the top of the page
3. Move the cursor to the little green square, that is centered bottom.
You will now see a vertical white line with arrow on both sides.
4. Move this arrow down with your mouse.
5. Let loose of the cursor.
Now you will see the text of the text box in black color.
6. To see the character properties start spelling correction by „Tools“ ->
„Spelling and Grammar“. (Maybe there is a quicker way… )
7. Close windows „Spelling and Grammar“.
8. Now mark the text and look up the font color: It‘s „Automatic“.

LO 4.2 gets height and position of textbox wrong, but I you increase the height
by draging the lower little green square of the box down. Then you will see the
text in correct color.

LO 3.6:
Textbox has the height of a single horizontal line.
Otherwise same as LO 4.2.

LO 3.5: The font has the correct color and the content of the box is shown
(unlike 3.3!) But the shape of the box is messed up.

LO 3.3: Color of font is correct, but height of text box is wrong and no text
in box is displayed.

I attached several files and a pdf with screenshots.

Version: 6.0.0.0.beta1 (x64)
Build ID: 97471ab4eb4db4c487195658631696bb3238656c
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: CL

I searched for dupes, but found nothing.

This commit may be a fix for this issue, but I am not sure. Maybe someone with
a self-built master can update the build and test.

Additionally, a quick explanation to what you described in comment 15, Adrian.
The OpenGL framework in LibreOffice underwent major changes between 4.4 and
5.2, and the OpenGL support in betas (sometimes even in the first releases) was
shaky.

Sorry for stupid question, but what do you mean with installation of GTK3? I
have Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit, MATE 1.12.2 and Libreoffice 5.4.3.2 with VCL:gtk2.
There are some GTK3 related packages installed in the system, but nothing
related to Libreoffice is available.

Bug ID: 114157
Summary: 6.0Beta1: Calc becomes crazy when I insert a new sheet
and then scoll
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.0.0.beta1
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Reporter: suokunl...@126.com

test document

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open the test document with 6.0 beta1

2. Insert a new sheet before "FOP Database by Product Code".

3. Goto sheet "FOP Database by Product Code", and scroll left-and-right using
the scroll-bar.
(Please note that you have to do this step as soon as you have finished the
previous step.)

--> Calc becomes crazy, the cell lines are misaligned. If you are quick enough
to do step 3 after step 2, you may encounter an UI hang.

4. After Calc becomes crazy, if you try to close the application a warning
dialog will show up, saying that you are not able to close the window while
updating a link.

5. Ctrl+Z to undo
--> The "crazy" is gone, but you get a lot of ERR:522 cells. This may be a
different bug, but is highly related.

Additional information:
This test document is a reduced real-world working document. It contains
complex cell formulas (functions) such as a combination of SUMPRODUCT and
INDIRECT etc. (In the real world, one is using these functions on daily basis
to do daily work).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114147] Night mode/Invert colors filter

2017-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114147

Inverting the colors in the window with a window manager or compositor would
invert the colors of GUI too, and as I have already said, I use a dark theme,
so that would make my GUI elements bright.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114080] FILESAVE: "Save as Text" doesn' t put end-of-line after each line shown on screen

2017-11-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114080

(In reply to tommy27 from comment #4)
If, in your first test, you hit after each short line, then you're
getting what I expect. Hitting ends a "paragraph", and the "Save as
Text" *does* put an end-of-line at the end of each paragraph.

 In your second test:

Is the text you pasted what I posted as the result of Save as Text? So it
was two rather long lines?

Did you change the left and right margins to force more dramatic line
wrapping?

How are you testing the resulting text file? I open it in Notepad. With
very wide margins in LibreOffice, the lines of text are so short they don't
come anywhere near the width of the Notepad window. If your Notepad window is
as wide as the default LibreOffice margins would make the usable part of a
page, and you have word-wrap enabled in Notepad, it might reproduce what was
displayed in LibreOffice.

I tried pasting my sample text into LibreOffice without changing margins
or font. The first line fits. The second line gets broken into two lines.
When I Save as Text, the output text file still contains only two lines -- just
like the original.

It doesn't seem likely that they changed it from 4.2 to 5.3, then took it
out by 5.4.

This looks like a duplicate of bug 107764, and your driver is among the
affected versions (see bug 107764 comment 23).
It is reported fixed with drivers 21.20.16.4727 or 22.20.16.4785 (see bug
107764 comment 78), please update your drivers to a newer one, and try again.

If the issue is not fixed for you afterwards, please comment in the other bug
report.

I wanted to change the theme of LO, like I've done before installing v 5.3.7.
However after installing v 5.3.7 and following the theme personalization flow
(see below), LO quits.

Follow this order to get the crash:

Open LO;

Click OK in that window;
LO crashes. Alternatively, it stalls at "Searching please wait".
