[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114202] New: program window displays incorrectly on 4k screen ( Dell XPS 15): main menu doesn' t fit into the screen at all. Mouse pointer works only a little below to-be-click
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114202 Bug ID: 114202 Summary: program window displays incorrectly on 4k screen (Dell XPS 15): main menu doesn't fit into the screen at all. Mouse pointer works only a little below to-be-clicked objects. Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.4.3.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: davlatov...@gmail.com Description: It's a very annoying problem and it's not minor at all. Even if the main program window is resized, the main menu doesn't fit into the interface of the program at all. "file", "edit", "help" - that's what I am talking about. This can be overcome, interestingly enough, by another bug, the mouse pointer works a little below the objects to be clicked. so if you click little below "file", "edit", "help", these will drop down... It's annoying because if you want to select a word you have to keep your mouse a little below the word which must be selected. It takes time to adjust. Please, if this happens not only in my DELL XPS 15, but on other 4k displays, can you fix it? Steps to Reproduce: 1. open a new document 2. look up 3. you will not see the main menu file help edit etc another bug 1. type a word in the beginning of the page and in the bottom 2. try to select the words one at a time with your mouse 3. you will notice that you have to keep the mouse a little below the words. Actual Results: I noticed there is no menu in the first place. I noticed that I can't click an object and have to adjust my mouse to do it which takes time Expected Results: it should show the main menu but it doesn't. In the second bug, the mouse should click the objects and select the words normally. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: en-US Module: TextDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Windows (All) using 5.4.3.2. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114193] Impress doesnt change behaviour when launched in RTL
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114193 --- Comment #2 from Khaled Hosny --- Well the old behavior was certainly buggy, what needs to be done now is this: > It would have slightly more sense if SetDefaultWritingMode() actually > just set a default (for e.g. new documents), but that is not the case > here as it affects all documents. No idea how to do that, though. Personally I like how text direction works in Google Docs; if you start writing in Arabic then the paragraph direction and alignment are set to RTL and right, respectively, and vice versa. This makes it locale-independent and sensitive to the actual content being written (i.e. just because I use an Arabic locale does not mean every single document I wright is RTL, and the reverse is also true). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

What would definitely be helpful is reproduction steps on how to get to a bad file. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114033] Crash in: libgobject-2.0.so.0.5000.3
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114033 --- Comment #7 from Howard Johnson --- I don't think this is a bug in the windows manager. The reason: I run lots of software other than LibreOffice and I *never* see any of it crash my window manager. Rather, I find that LibreOffice (at least LO Base) is chock full of bugs, as I have reported many here, and I think what is most likely is that LibreOffice Base is crashing the windows manager. (I don't say this with any joy. I wish it weren't so, and I am helpless at the moment to fix LO. All I can do this day is report what I am seeing in hopes that it moves the process forward.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 114033] Crash in: libgobject-2.0.so.0.5000.3
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=114033 --- Comment #6 from Howard Johnson --- 1) This morning I had two LibreOffice Base windows open that were just sitting there doing nothing. I was busy working on something else in Firefox, when LibreOffice just out of the blue crashed, like on it's own, without any mouse or keyboard input from me! (This time it didn't take down the windows manager, just itself.) 2) Yesterday LibreOffice crashed my windows manager so badly that cinnamon lost all and had to do a full, fresh restart (rather than the normal restart where it keeps alive all of the programs and windows that were open before the crash). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Then if the same file is opened with Excel, the date format will be switched as MM/DD/YY and the language retrived by Excel is Chinese... This occurs systematically each time the file is first saved using Calc and then opened with Excel. The file is always shown correctly on Calc. If the file used is a planning table, a schedule or something like that, that bug becomes really dangerous! Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create an XLS / XLSX file with Calc writing a date in a cell formatted as DD/MM/YY and save it 2. Open the same file with Excel --> the date will look like MM/DD/YY !
