[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116302] Much of file not viewable in Mageia LibreOffice
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116302 --- Comment #7 from Ole Reier Ulland --- I changed the default style to DejaVu Serif Book 9 pt. in Windows and applied it. That change made the text in Mageia the same as in Windows. Thank You. But that font is too wide for me. I tried to change default style back to Liberation Serif in both Windows and Mageia. In Windows it worked fine as always, but in Mageia I got only about 75 % of the text. What makes this problem come up all of a sudden? Is it the use of seven columns? I think I have seen it earlier too with the use of large tables reaching over many pages. Are there other uses of LibreOffice that gives this challenge? When I have to use both Windows and Mageia, many columns and large tables, which fonts are available to me under all circumstances? https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116302 --- Comment #6 from V Stuart Foote --- Still leaning toward font metric mismatches between Windows and Linux flavors of the fonts. Perhaps give "DejaVu Serif Book" at 9pt a try. But please make the font change against the Default paragraph style, modify it, select all text and apply Default. With DejaVu Serif I just verified the page layout in 7 columns are the same between Windows 10 Pro, ver 1709 (6.0.2.1) and Fedora 27 (5.4.4.1). But, I did see a difference between Windows 10 and Fedora 27 with Liberation Serif -- Windows had build v2.00 --Ascender Corp modified by Red Hat 04-10-2012 05:02:32 with OS/2 version set 3 and "Really use Type Metrics" is not enabled. While Fedora 27 had build v 1.07.4 with OS/2 version set 4 and "Really use Typo Metrics" enabled. So using different metrics to calculate line heights and page layout. Not necessarily the same with Mageia packaging--but representative that different font versions and metrics will cause these issues. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Create an eg. 5x5 table in Writer. 2. You should be in the first cell, if not, click into the first cell. 3. Select row/column either by clicking before/above the cell, or using the menu. => The Merge Cells toolbar button is inactive (see screenshot). Same with Optimize Size. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100532] Clear Recent Documents does not clear the ones from the dock.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100532 --- Comment #9 from Ted Lee --- Found sort of a work around after all. It turns out you can delete the properties list that contains the list of recent documents for an app, but to have the deletion take effect you have to log out of the account; for some reason rebooting (safe or normal) doesn't delete whatever cache the Dock's info is kept in. For LibreOffice the file of interest is ~Library/ Application Support/ com.apple.sharedfilelist/ com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ApplicationRecentDocuments/ org.libreoffice.script.sfl2 (spaces inserted to allow line wrap.) One interesting thing I discovered is that the files are identified in that file by some kind of unique identifier. If you change the name of a file, you can still open it via the Dock contextual menu -- but not via the File > Recent Documents menu(s) in LibreOffice. While I can't figure out the structure of the recent documents file, it is clear the filenames are not in it as plain text strings. There are about 1,000 bytes per file, most of which appears to the little icon that is displayed next to the file name. The bug is (obviously?) that when LibreOffice deletes a file from its internal recent file list it doesn't tell the Dock to do so too; I presume there is some API for that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115301] textbox text shifted relative to graphic objects when updated from Fedora 25 to Fedora 26.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115301 --- Comment #15 from Bill --- Good evening Buovjaga, Download and de-compress worked fine. Tool to delete old fonts and install new ones kept hanging, requiring multiple kills and re-starts. But I think the replacement worked. I tested... I 1. launched Impress on my slide with many text boxes and graphic objects; 2. selected everything; and 3. changed the font to the new nimbus roman "NimbusRomNo9L". The text remains shifted upward relative to where it originally was and relative to graphic objects. I next 4. selected one text box in a way that made its border visible. The text appears shifted up within the border, almost to the top border. I launched the pre-problem screen capture of this slide, and made sure both that image and the current Impress session were showing the slide at the same size and zoom. Checking several graphic objects, I can confidently say that * the graphic objects have not shifted; * the text boxes themselves (the borders) have not shifted. Then I 1. again selected everything; and 2. changed the font to Liberation Sans (the default). The text still appears shifted vertically up relative to text box borders and graphic objects. Last year, did something change regarding the positioning of text within text boxes? It seems to me that the font is not the problem. It sure was a good guess. But I now accept neither that this bug is "RESOLVED", nor that this is "NOTABUG". Based on my past experience as a programmer and as a software team lead, I assume it is not my place to change this bug's status at this point in its life cycle. So I'm leaving those settings alone. Let me know if I should change the status, and I will do so. I am willing to help with this as I reasonably can, for example by testing and trying things, or send you screen captures or LibreOffice files. But I am limited. I cannot go back to previous releases/patches, or go ahead of what's in the Fedora repositories. By the way, I patched this system this afternoon, before doing any of the testing reported above. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107755 --- Comment #11 from Hussam Al-Tayeb --- (In reply to Jean-Baptiste Faure from comment #10) > Another argument against your proposition is that recently used does not > mean the same thing at LibreOffice level and at OS level. At LibreOffice > level it means this file has been opened by LibreOffice. At OS level it > means this file has been read or open by some program. There is a lot of > other softwares than LibreOffice that can change the last modified date of > an office file. In other words the recently used files list of LibreOffice > gives a more precise and useful information than the one from the OS. > > So closing as WontFix. > > Best regards. JBF If I try to open a non-existent file using a native gtk+ application, it automatically prunes the non-existent file from the recent files file. Both KDE and Gnome benefit from this. LibreOffice simply clutters its recent files storage and doesn't clean up after itself by removing stale entries on failure to open them which also poses a privacy issue because users of FDo compliant desktops (Gnome/KDE/etc...) are expecting the opposite different behavior. Do you understand what I was after here and my concern? It's your software so you can go ahead and not fix it if you wish but it is really not Ok at all to ignore privacy issues. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74967] Allow rule for "no value (entered)" in conditional formatting
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74967 --- Comment #6 from Regina Henschel --- Set cell cursor on Cell A1. Define condition as: Condition type "Formula is" with formula "AND(A1=0;NOT(ISBLANK(A1)))" or with formula "IF(ISBLANK(A1);FALSE();A1=0)" on range "A1:A7". Because the address A1 is relative it adapts for the other cells of the range to e.g "AND(A7=0;NOT(ISBLANK(A7)))" for cell A7. Unfortunately the ODF part 2 has in section "6.3.5 Conversion to Number" the rule: "If the expected type is Number, then if value is of type Reference ... If the cell is empty (blank), use 0 (zero) as the value. ..." The comparison with operator = and one value 0 expects a number from the reference A1. So getting "A1=0 return false for an empty cell A1" seems only possible, if not using namespace "of:". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
