[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116182] Hebrew character and number make Writer crash

2018-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116182

Hi,

Tested with

Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 5cf0131b85c60ca9618b84ae550bb1765e3295f7
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: zh-TW (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

Steps to reproduce:
1. Set locale to traditional Chinese from tools/options/languages.
2. Paste א as pure text.

On Linux the UI stop responding on step 2. Not possible to enter another number
via keyboard.

I saw the program always stepped to some code related to CJK justification when
I press pause in Visual Studio debug mode, I think it's related to how RTL
characters are handled in a document that default to traditional Chinese.
That's why added step 1 here, to make my test resembles my test on Windows.

Maybe. Or maybe black font with a grey background. What I am mainly concerned
with is that font and background colours should be consistent, at the moment LO
uses unmatching colours from two tuples here: selected font with unselected
background.

I believe we may need to scale the image to fit the screen. Can you check
LogCat on your device whilst the issue is occuring? I’ll bet there are memory
exceptions...

I guess we get the width and height of the widget’s ImageView via
getMeasuredWidth() and getMeasuredHeight() and then rescale the bitmap, after
which we set the bitmap.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Does this mean you have the link also clickable in the second and susequent
lines of the wrapped cell? Could you supply a file damonstrating this?

I cannot easily believe that this depends on language settings.

(Mine are English (UK) for UI and locale, changing languages for documents.
(For Calc I often choose Esperanto.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116345] New: Impress: Video in an ODP file endlessly zooms in when running the presentation mode

2018-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116345

Bug ID: 116345
Summary: Impress: Video in an ODP file endlessly zooms in when
running the presentation mode
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: y...@konqi.fr

Description:
When a video (e.g. mp4 file) is being embedded to the ODP document (e.g. via
drag-and-drop), if the video is positioned such as the bottom of the video is
beyond the bottom of the page, the following bug happens in presentation mode:
the video on the audience's screen starts autoplay and zooms in by itself,
endlessly, progressively overloading the CPU. Additionally, the speaker's
screen has two views of the video: a preview picture, correctly positioned, and
the playing video, mispositioned.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new ODP document
2. Drag and drop a mp4 video to the page
3. Position the video so that the bottom of the video is under the bottom of
the page
4. press F5 to start presentation
5. Observe both screens (audience + speaker's screens) having different bugs

Actual Results:
Audience screen: the video endlessly zooms in
Speaker's screen: two views of the video can be seen: 1 static (picture,
properly positioned with respect to the page), 1 playing (video, misaligned
with respected to the page)

Expected Results:
No endless zoom
Only 1 view, correctly positionned as in edit mode

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
OpenGL disabled

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101

No, the autocorrect for en-US is set to U+2018 / U+2019 single, and U+201c /
U+201d. So "Don't" would change to "Don‘t".

But, while autocorrect is enabled by default, an autocorrection change to one
of the "decorative" quotation marks is not common in US English word processing
and U+0027, U+0022 suffices. But for some locales it is a very important
feature to assure correct punctuation, regardless of keyboard support--hence
the default autocorrect.

The autocorrect "Localized Options" tab's replacements facilitate that
support--at the loss of use the single or double quote while typing. If you
need the apostrophe, simply uncheck the autocorrect for the single quote.

But, I guess a case could be made to do that by default for language
localizations where a majority of users would benefit.

Thanks for your good explanation V Stuart Foote! But for fr_CH locale this
commit is not correct in my sense.

How a user with Swiss French keyboard can write something like below without
going in option to disable autocorrect? In all other text editor, ' (U+0027)
still ' (U+0027) or may be (U+2018) and not become › (U+2039). It is not the
same usage.

C'est vrai, l'hiver est terminé alors j'arrive demain. (correct)
|
C›est vrai, l›hiver est terminé alors j›arrive demain. (bad result)

Just a question, it is the same with english keyboard? When you write:

Don't do that!

It become:

Don›t do that! ??

A keyboard apostrophe (U+0027) is default assigned as 'Start quote' within the
GUI for Single quote replacement.

You can change that to be any keyboard character, allowing the apostrophe to be
used as an apostrophe while typing if preferred--or as noted disable the
autocorrect for the Single quotation marks.

Previously, the U+0027 would be changed to U+2018, so maybe not so noticeable
while typing.

But recent change was done for the Swiss locale (bug 105837 [1]) where all
languages will now use U+2039 & U+203a pair for single quotes and U+00ab &
U+00bb are the default double quotes pairs.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116290] UI: Window size limited by length of menu bar (gtk3 only?)

2018-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116290

Its a native GtkMenuBar inside a toplevel GtkWindow. So presumably the min size
is that of its contents. GtkToolBar comes with a "show-arrow" property which
allows the toolbar to be shrunk past the size of its contents and show the
entries in an overflow menu. I see no such properties with a GtkMenuBar, so I
think that's just the way it is with a native gtk menubar so someone probably
needs to ask upstream gtk if there's a mechanism to achieve this, if it even is
something that should be desirable. Sticking it into a scrolledwindow would
just leave the excess elements unusable.

6.11.3 HYPERLINK
Semantics: The default for the second argument is the value of the first
argument. The second argument value is returned.
In addition, hosting environments may interpret expressions containing
HYPERLINK function calls as calling for an implementation-dependent creation of
a hypertext link based on the expression containing the HYPERLINK function
calls.

It is not an ODF problem. On one hand you have "implementation-dependent" and
on the other hand you have "based on the expression containing the HYPERLINK
function calls", which means, that the hyperlink URL can be build from the
total expression and not only of the part in the HYPERLINK function.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116344] New: Writer, CTL/RIGHT-TO-LEFT: Awkward Justification with Syriac Fonts

2018-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116344

Bug ID: 116344
Summary: Writer, CTL/RIGHT-TO-LEFT: Awkward Justification with
Syriac Fonts
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.2.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: quintus.veran...@yahoo.com

Description:
Writer inserts awkward black lines when stretching whitespace for justified
right-to-left-text in Classical Syriac. Happens in 5.4 and 6.02.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. If you are not familiar with Classical Syriac, install Google’s noto-fonts
(e.g. sudo apt-get install fonts-noto). Of course, any other Syriac font will
do.
2. Enable Complex Text Layout (Tools > Options > Language Settings > Complex
Text Layout; Language: "None", there is no option for Ancient Syriac)
3. Create paragraph style (e.g. "Syriac_Justified") with options: "Justify +
Text direction right-to-left (horizontal) + Last Line justified.
Select "Noto Sans Syriac Estrangela" as CTL-font.
4. Add some Syriac Text and mark it as "Syriac_Justified".

Actual Results:
Stretched whitespace with black lines.

Expected Results:
Stretched whitespace should be white.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Thanks for the tip! I've used used Star/Open/LibreOffice for more than a decade
and wasn't aware you could name elements and then find them in the Navigator.
However, do you think this is a realistic workflow, especially for Joe/Jane

With a space, yes, that is definitely an edge case. However, there is a UX
problem here, especially if you pair it with the problem that you can only edit
text in a text box by either double-clicking on the frame or on the text itself
(bug #116342). Not only does this problem ignore Fitts' Law, but it also does
not match behavior in PowerPoint or Publisher.

Please understand that both bugs are not major ones, but Draw suffers from
death by a thousand papercuts.

Just noticed in the STR you'd entered a Space (but a NPC would do) so not
empty. But is this realistic to need to locate a Text Box Draw object that is
not populated with text?

You totally right, i unchecked in Autocorrect Options like you explained and it
work again.

BUT why this behaviour by default?? In the old versions i didn't had this
behaviour.

In french we use all the time this character ' (Apostrophe)
The autocorrect do not have to be enable for this key by default! For me it is
a bug. People that starting Libreoffice from 6.x will become crazy and stop use
it. (if you don't know about this option, you cannot write a common and simple
phrase in french).

I reopen this bug, i let you analyse my argument and choose to close again or
investigate this problem.

Thanks

If the Text box draw object is not populated on creation, it is immediately
removed and will not be saved to the ODF document.

To convince oneself, save to a Flat ODF XML, e.g. .fodg, or .fodt to review the
document structure. No empty (uninstantiated) Draw Text Box objects will be
