[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116788] EDITING Alt+Enter does not break line in cell like in Excel

Not true, it closes cell input and selects the cell after.

I use Alt+Enter often to input a range of test data (doesn't work only with
formulas but with any data). Specifically it also enters the same formula
across all selected sheets at the current cell position, which otherwise is not
possible at all.

Furthermore, Alt+anykey may be problematic in some combinations with some
platforms or Window managers, so it's rather advisable to assign Alt+something
to the least used functionality.

Hi Samuel and thanks for the proposed fix,

I had big hopes when updating LibreOffice today but unfortunately it still does
not work for me using LibreOffice 6.0.2.1 x64 (which includes your fix as far
as I know) on Win7, with Impress Remote 2.2.3 or 2.3.0b.

The connection fails immediately on Bluetooth and Wifi.

If I attempt a connection via Wifi when the ports are closed on the computer,
the app spins and fails after a few seconds. If during that time I open the
ports, it fails immediately after.

If there is anything I can do to help you find out what the problem is (maybe
there is a log file somewhere?) feel free to let me know.

Thanks again

Thomas

   Version: Inherited From OOo

OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Example file from Excel 2010

Attached XLSX file from Excel 2010 has a Date type column, a text format and a
number format column with auto-filter, set to filter out some date from the
first column and filter out some text from the second column. Opening the
attached file with LibreOffice Calc, the filter list has disappeared in the
second and third (text/number) column.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new spreadsheet with Microsoft Excel 2010/2013/2016
2. Set the first column cells format to Date type, the second/third one to
text/number
3. Fill the three column with some data. Optional: (the date column should
contain at least three different year)
4. Set an autofilter to the three columns, and filter out some year from the
date column and filter out something from the second or third column
5. Save the file as *.XLSX and open with LibreOffice Calc
6. Save as the *.XLSX file with LibreOffice Calc and reload the file

Actual results:
After we import the *.XLSX file, the second and third filter list disappeared.
The date filter list was just wrong
After we export the *.XLSX file, the filters disappeared from the first row,
but the _xlmn._FilterDatabase named range was good.

Expected results:
The combined filtering should work fine, even if we filter date type column and
another ones together.

This interoperability issue still occurs in combination with LibreOffice
6.0.2.1 and MSO (used Office 365 Web-view for the above ODT-Documents):

test4.odt is displayed wrong in MS-Office,

test4_added_fo_wrap_option_wrap.odt is displayed correct in MS-Office.

The only difference between these two documents is, that in the second one I
manually added fo:wrap-option='wrap' attribute near the place where
style:wrap='parallel' is set.

So to summarize the above request:

To improve compatibility for ODT between LibreOffice and MSO, I suggest to
automatically add fo:wrap-option='wrap' whenever style:wrap='parallel' is set.

---
more details (just because you asked for) - I don't think they are required:

a) Tested with LibreOffice 6.0.2.1 on a current ubuntu bionic snapshot. MSO is
run as Office 365 in the Browser (in the previous try I used a MS-Office 20xx
fat client).

b) reproduce? open the mentioned documents in MSO

c) see b). Sorry, there's nothing to add.

d) already added - see above.

Adding Eike to CC.
It's a repaint problem, I have no idea where calc repaints a Cell when TextEdit
ends. Or what exactly goes on on repaint.
I added a unrotated text in the Cell left to the rotated one, that works. So
definitely has to do with rotation being active.
Also happens when cursor on Cell and changing Background: Unrotated Text gets
painted, Rotated Text not.
@Eike: Do you have a code pointer where that text paint happens in Calc?

The background color change

Maybe related to bug: #38533

Copy a text from eclipse (probably from others, but this ide creates the
problem for me), for example:

String passWord =

When the text is pasted, it has some background color, as shown in the
attachment in the bottom line.

Save the document in .docx format, and open it again, the color has changed to
the color in the upper line.

This does not happen saving/reading in the .odf format.

Is there any other software padding this way, or any source suggesting that?

There is no standard for the width of kerning inserted between CJK and other
scripts, but CLREQ said it is up to a quarter of the width of a Han character:

https://www.w3.org/TR/clreq/
3.2.4 Handling Western Text in Chinese Text Using Proportional Western Fonts
Tracking or spacing between a Han character and a Western letter or numeral is
up to a quarter of the width of a Han character.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116815] New: Remove "Master Elements" from Draw

2018-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116815

Bug ID: 116815
Summary: Remove "Master Elements" from Draw
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Open Draw and switch to Master view.
Goto menu Page, item Master Elements and check all three check boxes.
Enable Line or Area, so you can better see the elements.

Problem 1: There exists no item to enter the footer text. The part Insert >
Header/Footer, which you have in Impress, does not exist here.

Close Master view, save and reload.

Problem 2: You see a page number, but no date/time.

If you examine the element in styles.xml in the file, you
find the reason. Enabling Master Elements inserts the placeholders
presentation:date-time, presentation:footer and text:page-number. The
placeholders in namespace 'presentation' do not work in Draw but only in
Impress. See
http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part1.html#element-presentation_date-time
and
http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part1.html#element-presentation_footer

The placeholder text:page-number works, because it is an ordinary field. But
for getting the page number no 'Master Elements' are needed, because the user
can insert the page-number field via Insert > Field.

the third installment is still different: now the large bitmap on page 1 is
shown, but still no trace of that on page 2. Contrary to previous pdf, the
large "unito-go" large double circle on lower left corner of page 3 is now
missing.
Pages 9 and 10 are as bad as in test2.
And, i forgot to mention that the image on upper right corner of page 5
(imperial college, on your bike) is never shown.
If anyone can obtain from the "Presentazione 21-9-2017 - test.odp" file the pdf
with annotations export with full correct slide display, please let me know and
state precisely your course of action, so that I can try to understand where I
go wrong. Thanks

@Uwe: I can't reproduce this with LO5451 connecting from my Retina MBPro15 to a
1080p compatible HDMI monitor.

How is your external monitor set up in the OS system settings :

- optimized for monitor ?
- scaled (and if so, which scale setting/resolution) ?

By default, my external monitor is set to 1366x768 under the optimized setting.
If I choose any of the hires scaled settings (1080p, 1080i, 720), the whole
system display needs to be adjusted to fit correctly on screen.

Hi Cor,

No apologies required! Feel free to add me to any bug you feel I might be able
to help with.

Unfortunaly there doesn't seem to be an easy way to move focus to a control
inside a panel like there is for moving focus to a deck title.

If you fixed it, you can directly set it to RESOLVED FIXED. Once another person
verifies the fix, he sets the status to RESOLVED VERIFIED.
