[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117418] Specific file causing LibreOffice to freeze completely when loading ( FILEOPEN)

Is there anything that might have specifically caused a corruption like this? I
just want to try my best to avoid this sort of issue in the future. But
honestly, I don't think I was doing anything outside of normal expected use.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Warm Regards,
QA Team

HarfBuzz has enough API to get anyone started in this, that is not the blocker
the real blocker are (in descending order) 1) finding a way to store font
features in ODF documents 2) implementing it in LibreOffice 3) Designing and
writing a GUI to control the features 4) pushing this through ODF
standardization process. Any help is welcomed, I personally have no experience
with any of these 4 points.

This is triggered by not just the TAB key, but also DELETE and BACKSPACE inside
the SQL editor.

You need to change the existing text in the editor with one of those keys.

Also, checked with 6.0.3.2 (Ubuntu 18.04 repo) and could not reproduce the
crash, it seems to just be 6.1.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117487] Calc treats 'rows' and mouse 'scroll lines' as being the same

Hmm, lets check the use case...

Have a user *abusing* a Calc spreadsheet with multi-line cell content, and then
complaining that the scroll is done with single _row_ increments rather than
with _line_ increments of wrapped text held in an over height cell.

Sorry, but this behavior is by design and needed for sheet performance.

Alternatives have been evaluated in the past and current _row_ unit scroll
granularity is retained for performance issues with rendering cell grid of Calc
sheets.

Instead (as a GSOC 2011 project, for 3.5.0 release) we implemented a multi-line
capable Formula input bar to fully expose such ill-advised multi-line cell
content, including scroll at _line_ increments within the active cell.

Anyhow => DUPLICATE of bug 35759 or bug 34689

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 35759 ***

 CC||ba...@caesar.elte.hu

Ramesh popped by on IRC, and mentioned this was working fine in LO 5.2.7,
thanks for that piece of information, and for the sample!

Based on that, the change could be bibisected to the following range of
commits:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?qt=range=b68ed302830fd1c44212eeb6c23d5a08b7dc97ec..092261ffd497f752c342f1fbdca6e7267e312a21

Of which "upgrade to ICU 58" is the most likely culprit, especially since the
document displays fine in LO 5.4.6 bundled with Ubuntu 17.10, which comes with
ICU 57.1.

I retested it and its not a bug. In comment9 i say i can reproduce it, but i
forgot to save the file at that moment. So the link could not be mate.
Its a normal behavior that when choosing the link option in past special the
rest is gray out. Can be closed as notabug

If you are not agree you can reopen it as unconfirmed

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117436] Export to Calc: Line break isn' t exported through copy and paste from Base to Calc

2018-05-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117436

Can confirm the behavior.

Copy/Paste (context menu) of a Base table to Calc makes multi-line text entries
single line, whereas Drag & Drop keeps the line breaks.

LO 6.0.3.2, win10 x64, de-de, Base setting "extended database setting" "Text
lines with CR+LF" off

But more important:

Re-Import of the table from Calc to Base works in neither way - not via
copy/paste nor drag & drop (like Robert stated before).

Any workaround for this direction?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117487] New: Calc treats 'rows' and mouse 'scroll lines' as being the same

2018-05-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117487

Bug ID: 117487
Summary: Calc treats 'rows' and mouse 'scroll lines' as being
the same
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: id22...@yahoo.com

Description:
In Mouse settings there is option to set mouse scroll lines or how many 'lines'
the mouse scroll wheel moves up or down the page per increment. in bad design
Calc treats rows and 'scroll lines' as the same. This can cause annoying
navigation problems if you have a lot of text in a cell. It is bad design and
should obviously be fixed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open up Calc and insert a paragraph of text into some cells down a column.
use 'text wrap' if needed.
2. watch what happens when you use your scroll wheel on your mouse.
3. That is all

Actual Results:
For most people the scroll wheel will move up or down 3 or 5 'rows'. so if you
have a big row because you have a lot of text in a cell this whole body of text
be treated as one 'scroll line'. This is very annoying.

Expected Results:
'rows' and 'scroll lines' should be two separate things. They should not be
conflated with each other. When I use the scroll wheel the increment should be
the number of 'scroll lines' I have designated in 'mouse settings', Not the
number of 'rows' in Calc when in Calc environment.

Reproducible: Always

I'm also in favor of more subtle solutions. The Notebookbar is not a
aesthetically thing, at least not primarily, where you decide once how the app
looks like but a way to accommodate to the use scenario. Writing a love letter
requires other functions then a thesis, for example. And we make it easy to
switch with the prominent menu entry.

Nevertheless, interesting enhancement idea if we think about the larger
picture.

is okay, this is determined and set later. I
checked various possible changes to keep the
behaviour as for 'normal' SdrObjects, so please
be careful when doing changes in the HitTest code

Sorry, bug 103596 is a completely different issue on the emerging OpenType Font
Variation specification.

Not at all related to the detection of non-installed fonts (by family), or
handling embedding to ODF document issues as here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117485] New: Clicking on the table border will select the full table content instead of only selecting the border (used for cut/paste)

2018-05-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117485

Bug ID: 117485
Summary: Clicking on the table border will select the full
table content instead of only selecting the border
(used for cut/paste)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tele...@surfxs.nl

Description:
Clicking on the table border will select the full table content instead of only
selecting the border (used for cut/paste)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Impress
2. Insert a table
3. Deselect the table
4. Place the mouse cursor above the table (the text insert cursor appears)
5. Move the mouse to a table border, until the mouse arrow appears
6. Left click -> Table will be selecting including the table content (which
makes cut/and paste of the content easy, but cut & paste of the full table
hard)

7. Work around. Click insert the table first, and click the border next (except
for bug 117484)

Actual Results:
Table border with content gets selected

Expected Results:
Only the selection of the border without content

Reproducible: Always

Lenovo offers this product with multiple CPU/GPU configurations--i5 7200U
w/Intel HD 620, i7 7500U w/nVidia GTX950, i7 6600U w/Intel HD 520

And, issues are compounded by Lenovo's slow delivery of OpenGL driver support
for its Intel GPUs. Reference GPU drivers from Intel have often performed well
but are not delivered by Lenovo's update/support services.

Before we'd consider black listing the GPU we'd need to know the model T570 and
the on board CPU provided GPU, or the discrete GPU--but more significant the
GPU driver details you'd tested and found non-functional.
