** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107865] UNO commands to modify style-level character and paragraph properties

2018-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107865

I generally support the idea.

The most important factor that makes direct formatting that popular is thet
using it is *easy*. Thus, people who (unkowingly?) disregard the power of
styles, argue that it doesn't worth the effort (and later, when they have
created enough formatted content, they can't even evaluate what they miss now).

Reasoning like "styles are supposed to be static" concentrates on thoughtful
approach to styles, that values organized way of working on documents. That is
fine and all, but that is not the only approach in existence. And only making
tools convenient for that workflow inevitably leaves out other workflows,
forcing anyone with "chaotic" approach to use direct formatting, while everyone
around would look at that and say "you do that wrong! you need to use
styles!!!11".

So yes, *if* working with styles is *only* possible in that structured way, and
providing another way of working with styles would impact organized users in a
negative way, then yes, by no means provide easy styling tools to other
workflows. But is that so? Maybe we just didn't try enough?

I could envision a switch which would turn all existing direct formatting
commands into style modifying actions (by internally executing the new UNO
commands), so that there were no duplicating commands in UI; with some
easy-to-use tool to create new style (like possibility to edit the style name
in style boxes, with a tiny plus button, so that one could not enter into style
dialogs for that). At any rate, the idea offers possibilities IMO.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118152] New: PRINTING MULTIPLE COPIES OF THE SAME DOCUMENT CREATES ONE JOB FOR EACH PAGE RATHER THAN ONE JOB WITH THE WHOLE RUN

2018-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118152

Bug ID: 118152
Summary: PRINTING MULTIPLE COPIES OF THE SAME DOCUMENT CREATES
ONE JOB FOR EACH PAGE RATHER THAN ONE JOB WITH THE
WHOLE RUN
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: va...@nashvillelexus.com

Description:
I frequently have to print 50+ copies of a one-page document. After updating
from version 5.2.2.2 to version 6.0.4.2, Writer has changed from creating a
single print job for that batch to creating a separate job for every single
page that I have printed. This dramatically slows down the printing process, as
the printer has to reset after every page.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load a single-page document
2. Open the print queue
3. Print a large number of copies (10+)
4. Notice the large number of one-page jobs

Actual Results:
created a separate job for every single page

Expected Results:
Created a single job with the same page repeated

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko)

i agree with mchan223 , there are variables and we can use it.
result of calculation shouldn't change to incorrect! It is a bug.

three cents from me:

1. if formula in table change to aaa+2*bbb, then result doesn't change
2. may be sign [*] after of name of variable [bbb] makes from it name of
another variable [bbb*2], that doesn't set in the document?
3. [*] may be a wildcard in this case?

finally, in 6.1 beta 1 this bug still repro

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118151] New: Change color picker for tab color

2018-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118151

Bug ID: 118151
Summary: Change color picker for tab color
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: f...@soy-yo.net

Description:
With the general change of color selector in LO 5.4 (tab, font and backgroud),
some colors no longer appear in the color selector of the tab, please add the
current color selector of "Font color" and "Background color" to the color of
the tab so any color can be selected.

Actual Results:
Right click in the sheet tabs and click in "color tab" the color picker hasn't
options to select another color outside of the "standard" colors

Expected Results:
The color selector is missing the combo for different groups of colors, without
"recent" colors and there is no option to select a "custom color"

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

This is not about updating any of the subdocuments. I know about being able to
update the subdocuments, but this comes with some impact on content flow if you
have 5000 pages worth of subdocuments loaded in the masterdocument.
This is a feature request for being able to save edits made to a subdocument
rather than opening the subdocument itself and editing it separately, in which
case, if you edit many subdocuments while having at the same time the
masterdocument loaded with many subdocuments, LibreOffice becomes unstable and
prone to crashing.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107865] UNO commands to modify style-level character and paragraph properties

Summarizing the input from UX (primarily my own opinion): Styles are supposed
to be static. Text body, for example, consists of a number of properties such
as 12pt, normal weight, no indentation, 0.5 cm spacing etc. Those properties do
neither change frequently nor alone. Having UNO commands mean to quickly access
it on-the-fly, which is the opposite.
However, there is also support for the idea in the design team. It's close to
the request to get rid of direct formatting and to apply a certain character
style with making a section bold, or to modify the paragraph style for other
properties. Saying that I'm aware that the request is about a styles toolbar
with separate commands. But in the end I guess most users will not understand
the duplication.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117755] selecting text changes the current search target

2018-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117755

V Stuart Foote changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu

Can not confirm, current UI is consistent and correct.

With Ctrl+F Findbar *enabled* and present in the UI, a selection/copy from text
does not change the current find target! The Find bar retains original entry
and Find Previous/Find Next/Find All buttons continue with that value.

Only if the Findbar has been *closed* does a new selection/copy from text
replace the prior search. And with no ensuing selection, the prior find target
is used.

This UI makes functional sense and is consistent. If you don't want/need to
retain the find target close the Findbar--if you want to retain it to be able
to navigate through text leave it open.

Changing this would impose a regression for users used to working with the
Findbar.

Otherwise the issue of placing an arbitrary limit on the size of the string
held in the Findbar is reasonable--maybe ~256 characters?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118148] New: [NEWHELP] Handle tags in the UI

2018-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118148

Bug ID: 118148
Summary: [NEWHELP] Handle tags in the UI
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org
CC: olivier.hal...@documentfoundation.org
Blocks: 97629

In old help system, the tag is extracted at build time to be used by
the user interface as tool tip for each widget.

The new help does not handle that, yet.

The content of should be available as tool tips in the UI dialogs. UI
dialogs have provision to hold tooltips for each widget.

the tag is documented here:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Understanding,_Authoring_and_Editing_Openoffice.org_Help/3#ahelp

So the task/enhancement is to have a script that extracts of a given
dialog and add it to the corresponding .ui file.

This will have some impacts
- The UI will increase in volume of translation job, but
- ideally the translated should go too, to prevent re-translation.

Really? Well it has not worked for me.
I've created a sample Google Doc to aid in replicating this issue:

Either:
1) The data source of the form is configured as "execute directly: yes" /
"analyse SQL command: no", and then, well, it was kinda based on a bug that it
worked before.
Or:
2) Looks like on the contrary :link_from_Contact_ID is _not_ being replaced by
"?" anymore, and that's your problem. Assuming my guess is correct, then the
reason is probably that ParameterNameSubstitution is not set to "true", and the
solution is to set ParameterNameSubstitution to "true". It needs to be set in
existing files manually / by macro (sorry), and to set it in new files,
connectivity/registry/mysql/org/openoffice/Office/DataAccess/Drivers.xcu needs
the same change as

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/47283/5/connectivity/registry/firebird/org/openoffice/Office/DataAccess/Drivers.xcu

Oops sorry, guess the incomming 32px Colibre icons [1] should take care of
this--for some reason I'd thought the "Extra Large" icons [2] would be using
SVG rather than 32px PNG icons, helps to at least read the code.

Sorry for the noise.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118147] New: [Writer] Changing Comments / Annotations Background Color

2018-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118147

Bug ID: 118147
Summary: [Writer] Changing Comments / Annotations Background
Color
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: thierry.mu...@free.fr

Description:
I know that today the background color of annotations depends of the author.
But I think that it's too restrictive : to recognize different types of
annotations, setting the background color will give better readability.

In Writer, it will be useful, for the same author, to choose the background
color of annotations in order to have several colors to distinguish them more
easily. Not only for the author but for the next user who will read these
comments.
For instance, in order to help pupils to write texts and improve them, I would
like to insert annotations with a specific background color depending of the
error type : so the pupil will know easily what kind of error he made and he
could choose the accurate tool for correction.

Now we have these main properties for the annotations : Author, Content, Date,
Datetime, TextRange, ...
In first time, adding a new property for
"com.sun.star.text.textfield.Annotation" like "background" could help to do the
job with macros.

Regards,
Thierry

Actual Results:
Impossible to fix the background color of comments/annotations

Expected Results:
With a new "background color" property for the annotations
"com.sun.star.text.textfield.Annotation", we could choose several for the same
author with macro.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118146] New: VBA Macro: Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs saves invalid files

2018-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118146

Bug ID: 118146
   Summary: VBA Macro: Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs saves
invalid files
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kelem...@ubuntu.com

Created attachment 142708
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=142708=edit
Example file from Excel

There is a VBA macro in the attached file which exports and saves the sheets to
individual/new Workbooks. The main command which will “Save As” the sheets is:
Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs FILENAME, FILEFORMAT ;
The FILEFORMAT tag was ignored or LibreOffice did not recognize the FILEFORMAT
number (in case of *.xlsx →51). It is a problem when we use a macro in an
*.xlsm/xls file and would like to export the sheets AS *.xlsx. The VBA Project
is not removed properly from the new files and the file extension is wrong
according to Microsoft Excel. (Zip file error). The exported sheets opened
correctly with LibreOffice Calc, but the VBA Project was still there without
any Objects.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached spreadsheet (“Makro_Save_as_Sheets.xlsm”) with LibreOffice
Calc
2. Run the macro and try to open the exported file with Microsoft Excel.

This is the key command which does the export:
xFile = FolderName & "\" & Application.ActiveWorkbook.Sheets(1).Name & datum &
".xlsx"
Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs xFile, FileFormat:=51

Actual results:
If the source file (which included the macro) was an *.xlsm/xls file
LibreOffice exports the VBA Project even if we set the export format to *.xlsx.
When we try to open with Microsoft Excel, we get an error message. (BAD FORMAT)
The exported sheets opened correctly with LibreOffice Calc, but the VBA Project
was there without any Objects.

Expected results:
We should not get an error message and the “Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs
xFile, FileFormat:=51” command should work correctly even if the source file
was a different type. (BAD FORMAT)

The commit that caused this regression was to fix bug tdf#104986.

In that bug report there's a discussion

(In reply to Lionel Elie Mamane from comment #18)

> lex the SQL, just keeping track of whether on is inside a '-delimited string
> or a "-delimited identifier. And outside of that, replace any word that

In GDB of tdf#118112 I see this

Thread 7 "UNO AffineBridg" hit Breakpoint 1,
connectivity::java_sql_Connection::prepareStatement (this=0x35f5350,
sql="SELECT * FROM `btuc`.`tblBTUC_details` WHERE (
`btuc`.`tblBTUC_details`.`Contact_ID` = :link_from_Contact_ID )")
at /home/alex/master/connectivity/source/drivers/jdbc/JConnection.cxx:474
474 java_sql_PreparedStatement* pStatement = new
java_sql_PreparedStatement( t.pEnv, *this, sql );

Does this mean that :link_from_Contact_ID is being changed to ? and causing
the bug that I'm seeing.

the application will not freeze. If I click Save while viewing the first
sheet, the program will usually freeze. This does not happen every time but I
have never seen it freeze while viewing a sheet without cell comments.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create s sheet with many cell comments
2. Try to Save it
3.

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
I installed a fresh LibreOffice (V6.0.4.1) today.
Trying to connect to Remote Files asks to install a 'New Service'.
Selecting 'Google Drive' opens a new windows where to input user and password.
After clicking ok, a new windows asks for a 6 digit pin 'Authentication Code'.
My phone asks me if I want to allow connection, I select 'Yes'
Using Google Authenticator on phone, I copy the Google 6 digits into the
LibreOffice windows.
A new window with an Error opens: 'The specified device is invalid'
I tried this several times, both being logged into my Google A/c and unlogged.
Always got the same error.
