[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107865] UNO commands to modify style-level character and paragraph properties
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107865 --- Comment #9 from Mike Kaganski --- I generally support the idea. The most important factor that makes direct formatting that popular is thet using it is *easy*. Thus, people who (unkowingly?) disregard the power of styles, argue that it doesn't worth the effort (and later, when they have created enough formatted content, they can't even evaluate what they miss now). Reasoning like "styles are supposed to be static" concentrates on thoughtful approach to styles, that values organized way of working on documents. That is fine and all, but that is not the only approach in existence. And only making tools convenient for that workflow inevitably leaves out other workflows, forcing anyone with "chaotic" approach to use direct formatting, while everyone around would look at that and say "you do that wrong! you need to use styles!!!11". So yes, *if* working with styles is *only* possible in that structured way, and providing another way of working with styles would impact organized users in a negative way, then yes, by no means provide easy styling tools to other workflows. But is that so? Maybe we just didn't try enough? I could envision a switch which would turn all existing direct formatting commands into style modifying actions (by internally executing the new UNO commands), so that there were no duplicating commands in UI; with some easy-to-use tool to create new style (like possibility to edit the style name in style boxes, with a tiny plus button, so that one could not enter into style dialogs for that). At any rate, the idea offers possibilities IMO. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

This is not about updating any of the subdocuments. I know about being able to update the subdocuments, but this comes with some impact on content flow if you have 5000 pages worth of subdocuments loaded in the masterdocument. This is a feature request for being able to save edits made to a subdocument rather than opening the subdocument itself and editing it separately, in which case, if you edit many subdocuments while having at the same time the masterdocument loaded with many subdocuments, LibreOffice becomes unstable and prone to crashing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Text body, for example, consists of a number of properties such as 12pt, normal weight, no indentation, 0.5 cm spacing etc. Those properties do neither change frequently nor alone. Having UNO commands mean to quickly access it on-the-fly, which is the opposite. However, there is also support for the idea in the design team. It's close to the request to get rid of direct formatting and to apply a certain character style with making a section bold, or to modify the paragraph style for other properties. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117755 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- Comment #17 from V Stuart Foote --- Can not confirm, current UI is consistent and correct. With Ctrl+F Findbar *enabled* and present in the UI, a selection/copy from text does not change the current find target! The Find bar retains original entry and Find Previous/Find Next/Find All buttons continue with that value. Only if the Findbar has been *closed* does a new selection/copy from text replace the prior search. And with no ensuing selection, the prior find target is used. This UI makes functional sense and is consistent. If you don't want/need to retain the find target close the Findbar--if you want to retain it to be able to navigate through text leave it open. Changing this would impose a regression for users used to working with the Findbar. Otherwise the issue of placing an arbitrary limit on the size of the string held in the Findbar is reasonable--maybe ~256 characters? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

UI dialogs have provision to hold tooltips for each widget. the tag is documented here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Understanding,_Authoring_and_Editing_Openoffice.org_Help/3#ahelp So the task/enhancement is to have a script that extracts of a given dialog and add it to the corresponding .ui file. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118147] New: [Writer] Changing Comments / Annotations Background Color
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118147 Bug ID: 118147 Summary: [Writer] Changing Comments / Annotations Background Color Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: thierry.mu...@free.fr Description: I know that today the background color of annotations depends of the author. But I think that it's too restrictive : to recognize different types of annotations, setting the background color will give better readability. In Writer, it will be useful, for the same author, to choose the background color of annotations in order to have several colors to distinguish them more easily. Not only for the author but for the next user who will read these comments. For instance, in order to help pupils to write texts and improve them, I would like to insert annotations with a specific background color depending of the error type : so the pupil will know easily what kind of error he made and he could choose the accurate tool for correction. Now we have these main properties for the annotations : Author, Content, Date, Datetime, TextRange, ... In first time, adding a new property for "com.sun.star.text.textfield.Annotation" like "background" could help to do the job with macros. Regards, Thierry Actual Results: Impossible to fix the background color of comments/annotations Expected Results: With a new "background color" property for the annotations "com.sun.star.text.textfield.Annotation", we could choose several for the same author with macro. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118146] New: VBA Macro: Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs saves invalid files
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118146 Bug ID: 118146 Summary: VBA Macro: Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs saves invalid files Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: BASIC Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: kelem...@ubuntu.com Created attachment 142708 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=142708=edit Example file from Excel There is a VBA macro in the attached file which exports and saves the sheets to individual/new Workbooks. The main command which will “Save As” the sheets is: Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs FILENAME, FILEFORMAT ; The FILEFORMAT tag was ignored or LibreOffice did not recognize the FILEFORMAT number (in case of *.xlsx →51). It is a problem when we use a macro in an *.xlsm/xls file and would like to export the sheets AS *.xlsx. The VBA Project is not removed properly from the new files and the file extension is wrong according to Microsoft Excel. (Zip file error). The exported sheets opened correctly with LibreOffice Calc, but the VBA Project was still there without any Objects. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the attached spreadsheet (“Makro_Save_as_Sheets.xlsm”) with LibreOffice Calc 2. Run the macro and try to open the exported file with Microsoft Excel. This is the key command which does the export: xFile = FolderName & "\" & Application.ActiveWorkbook.Sheets(1).Name & datum & ".xlsx" Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs xFile, FileFormat:=51 Actual results: If the source file (which included the macro) was an *.xlsm/xls file LibreOffice exports the VBA Project even if we set the export format to *.xlsx. When we try to open with Microsoft Excel, we get an error message. (BAD FORMAT) The exported sheets opened correctly with LibreOffice Calc, but the VBA Project was there without any Objects. Expected results: We should not get an error message and the “Application.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs xFile, FileFormat:=51” command should work correctly even if the source file was a different type. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115643] Problems connecting to OneDrive and Google Drive
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115643 Stefano changed: What|Removed |Added Version|6.0.1.1 release |6.0.4.1 rc OS|All |Linux (All) --- Comment #6 from Stefano --- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS I installed a fresh LibreOffice (V6.0.4.1) today. Trying to connect to Remote Files asks to install a 'New Service'. Selecting 'Google Drive' opens a new windows where to input user and password. After clicking ok, a new windows asks for a 6 digit pin 'Authentication Code'. My phone asks me if I want to allow connection, I select 'Yes' Using Google Authenticator on phone, I copy the Google 6 digits into the LibreOffice windows. A new window with an Error opens: 'The specified device is invalid' I tried this several times, both being logged into my Google A/c and unlogged. Always got the same error. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
