[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69254] Incorrect handling of font families (weight, style, stretches) on Mac
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69254 --- Comment #78 from Tor Lillqvist --- Thomas: Of course any writing can always be improved. And depending on who one asks, one even gets different ideas how to improve it. Endless bike-shedding possibilities! But is this bugzilla really the place to discuss what was written in some marketing material some time ago? Also, yes, I don't think anybody who has worked on the code is unaware that the handling of styles of a font family in LibreOffice could be improved a lot, cross-platform. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69254 --- Comment #76 from LibreTraining --- (In reply to Thomas Linard from comment #72) > According to > https://www.collaboraoffice.com/community-news/recent-mac-specific-fixes-in- > libreoffice/ the bug is gone. So, I did my tests again: in reality, nothing > has changed. > > > Test report with LibreOffice 6.1 Beta 2, macOS 10.13.5 > > Open-source fonts installed (in OTF version each): > ... > Overpass version 3.0.2 (16 styles) > http://overpassfont.org/ > ... > Overpass: 2 styles are missing > Overpass Heavy > Overpass Heavy Italic I tested Overpass on Windows 7 today and found different issues. Perhaps on the different OSs different font meta data is used resulting in different issues. I am guessing that if the fonts had all the meta data filled-in My findings today: Overpass Thin and ExtraLight - wrong screen display and print output. Export to PDF is correct. There is an error in the SemiBold regular font file – it has the font family set to Overpass Light. After fixing this file the Overpass SemiBold regular displays correctly. Overpass Mono - There is an error in the OverpassMono SemiBold font file – it has the font family set to Overpass Mono Light. After fixing this file the OverpassMono SemiBold displays correctly. Since you did not have these errors, but different errors, I am wondering what font info is read by default, and then by fallback if missing, in each OS. And if this may be one source of issues. p.s. doing Fira Sans tomorrow ... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

But, isn't it the normal behaviour of Calc that, when you copy a cell, referring to another cell, the references got updated accordingly and, if you paste the cell too far to the left (or above) the pasted cell, you end up pointing to a non-existent cell? I.e. for example in case 1, D20 should finally be pointing to {A-6position to the left}{1+10position to the bottom} that is #REF!11 and, for case 2, if I have 1 in A1 and =A1 in B2 if I copy-paste B2 in B1 I got =#RIF!1 (as I would expect); if I copy-paste B2 in D20 I got 0 (i.e.: =C19)... Select "Noto Sans Symbols" font and try to search select a 1D15F (MUSICAL SYMBOL QUARTER NOTE) glyph, or select "EmojiOne Color" and try to search select a 1F320 (SHOOTING STAR) glyph. Can't do it: - keyboard entry is not sequential, text cursor of input field jumps to start with each Hex pair. Makes it difficult to reliably enter the codepoint--and finding a glyph in the SMP (e.g. for Emoji) is a real chore - also an SMP codepoint input into the Hex field will not advance the Unicode Subsets into the entries in the SMP plane.
