https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88002 andrehe changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ahpub...@gmx.net --- Comment #11 from andrehe --- I suggest that sort has been optimized to not reorder empty cells, and a cell with only formatting is considered to be an empty cell which is the problem. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118980 --- Comment #1 from peter josvai --- the other way to revoke a "list style" could be like the old way, which actually works beautifully... that you click on the list style again, and it disappears.. and accordingly, hit shift+f12 again.. and it disappears.. BUT... if it is solved like this... then the same route should be applied to "EM", "strong", and the 2 others in the other radio button set, too :) the "clicking it again" method... personally, I think a universal clearing method is better... like the "CRTL+m" used to be for direct formatting... Actual Results: you can't... you can't find a button next to the buttons by which you apply a list style formatting to the text... you can't clear it with "default character" either.. I am, too, an HTML5 believer... also believing the LiO should produce a beautiful, intelligent and clean HTML output whenever it comes to that... #1- - - The Styles menu #1/a there should be a separator above "Default Character" and one below "Source text" .. and the list types should be separated like this, too... why? cause it is 2 radio button sets.. so to speak.. #1/b the title "Default Character" could be replaced with something else... like "no style for the character(s)", to mention something ridiculous :) BUT it would be even better to name it so that it would suggest "CLEAN style" Cleaning the styles... this would be logical cause this is the way you can actually REVOKE the style... "CLEAR character style", another candidate :) #2 - - - the Styles toolbar #2/a letter "A" is misleading... EM still is informative, but "E" alone, like in 6.2.alpha, is totally not... A and E seem to be something of the same type... whereas, "A" cleans off the assigned style... it is not a style but an eraser :) (it is a style, I know, but both as default style and in terms of if some code needs to be added, we can say that it is "WITHOUT a style", whereas the other 3 assign a style) so, A should be, I think renamed to "C" (like clean or clear or no style) we have to consider, also, that if there was a "clear all styles off these characters, it would do the same as "default character" - - - - - the other two suggestions are actually "bugs" in terms of behavior other than expected... so I'll file them independently... Steps to Reproduce: 1. drop down "Styles" menu 2. try to determine which items are in one radio button group 3. Actual Results: you have to try Expected Results: you should see -- it should be indicated Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 5a7d18e432571fb1e9b2cd54d6168353d25c6f19 CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2; TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2018-07-26_22:07:10 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70759 --- Comment #30 from V Stuart Foote --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #29) > Better we have Text Body as the default style according bug 47295. (If I had > the chance to prioritize tickets/topics I'd make this one of the key topics > for 6.2). That is fine, but it requires we rework the templates. Issue here is a simple fix to restore consistency until the templates could be scrubbed. There are advantages to not tweaking the Default style (e.g. bug 113517) and moving instead to template controlling the Text Body metrics (bug 94464), but until we can restructure the standard template(s) to use values of Text Body--the behavior as here of using Text Body style on clearing styles, rather than Default style is wrong. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70759] Apply Style toolbar "Clear formatting" action sets "Text Body" instead of "Default Style" from LO 4.1+
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70759 --- Comment #28 from V Stuart Foote --- This issue remains. We apply a Text Body paragraph style when using the "Clear formatting" action from the Apply Styles droplist of the Formatting toolbar. Correct action should be to apply Default Style to restore paragraph to match default format when creating paragraphs as from standard template. Hey @Samuel, in hindsight, your thought on now restoring a Default (Standard template) derived style result? Removing Style and ending with non-defaults as a style is not logical. If it is a simple as restoring the "Standard" to the top of the list in tbcontrl.cxx seems like we should. And if we ever move to a Text Body style by default (needing template changes) can realign then. =-ref-= https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=b22881c8166708d6fd42fbadad47ff880ba19ed4 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Select the paragraph with the errant formatting (with mix of styles and direct formatting), first clear the Direct Formatting with Format -> Clear Direct Formattingn (+M). Then with selection still in place, from the Sidebar's Style Deck (F11), pick the Character Styles (the A icon) and apply (double click) Default Style. Do the same from the Paragraph Styles (the Pilcrow) apply Default Style (double click). All text in the selected paragraph will be formatted with only the attributes of the Default paragraph style.
