https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118655 --- Comment #3 from Jim Raykowski --- Wildcard, Regular expressions, and Similarity search options are mutually exclusive or none select. Wildcard and Comments options share the same layout box. Wildcard is hidden in Writer and shown in Calc and vice-a-versa. For Impress and Draw the Wildcard/Comments layout box is hidden. Attached are screenshots of a proposed placement of the Wildcard/Comment option in the Find & Replace dialog for Calc and Writer. The Wildcard/Comments option is moved above Regular expressions option and the Sounds like (Japanese) option is moved to the previous location of Wildcard/Comments. I used Glade to edit the Find & Replace dialog file[1] to create the attached screen shots. [2] Insert Field: Insert > Field > More Fields… An error message is displayed: “The document contains embedded HSQL data, which is deprecated. Would you like to migrate to Firebird now?“ This message is nonsense here. Expected: No such message. [3] Click “Yes” or “Later”. The message appears again. [4] Click “Yes” or “Later” again. The message vanishes and the Fields dialogue is displayed. I tested this with libo-master64_2018-06-27. It appeared to be a work-in-progress with multiple issues. I just tested with libo-master64_2018-08-08. Appears to be the same. Is this going to be the version of this dialog released? If so, this is may cause more problems than it solves. For example: - Users should not be able to enable features which are mutually exclusive. - There is no option for Default which is appropriate for certain features. This is nothing more than the fake bold & italic confusion times 10. The OpenType features dialogs in QuarkXPress 2018 have substantial improvements over 2017 which shows that they have been making improvements based on user feedback. It is much better. And still better than the InDesign OpenType interface. The grouping and logic work has already been done. I can even summarize it if it would actually be used to fix this interface. I would be happy to post multiple screenshots from QuarkXPress 2018 - if anyone would actually look at them, and - actually incorporate the better features. Not going to waste the time if no one is going to even bother to look at them again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

It claims compatibility. https://www.libreoffice.org/discover/calc/ The Excel YEARFRAC function is mapped to the LibreOffice YEARFRAC function. So with respect to compatibility it is mandatory that LibreOffice YEARFRAC behaves like Excel. I had provided the Java Code for Excel YEARFRAC in my comment 2013-09-19. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119106 Marek Sebera changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #4 from Marek Sebera --- This bug affects me too, and I haven't found this ill-behavior mentioned anywhere else. Opening Writer without Navigator pane opened, will let it work just fine. Opening the Navigator pane or having it opened from previous session, causes render issues and slow-down of whole WM (I'm using specifically i3wm on top of lightdm) This I can confirm this issue in both versions "1:6.1.0~rc2-3~bpo9+1" and "1:6.1.0~rc3-1" (debian amd64 stretch-backports and sid) I've tried to disable/enable OpenCL, this does no effect. In settings enabling "Allow use of OpenCL" will get un-checked after lowriter restart. I've tried to disable OpenGL or force OpenGL, disabling OpenGL does not make the issue go away, forcing OpenGL causes Writer to not render document contents and menu texts and all the icons (I assume this is because by-default it does not use OpenGL on my system) I've also tried with clean user profile, and the issue persists. One thing that I noticed, in settings, that arrows indicating closeable settings section, are not rendered (just white space). Many people are using Samba servers for file shearing between Linux and Windows in the same network. This is because many companies are using together Linux and Windows desktop computers. But if one such user is trying to connect his Linux based LibreOffice to open/save a file on a Samba share, he/she can not found any useful help. Enough clear and practical suggestion how to achieve it is missing in the online or offline help system of LibreOffice. Please try to open File --> Open... --> Servers... You can found there around 16 connection options but no any about a Samba share. If one will try to use the option for Windows Share, the dialog will present him as host the following URL: https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v2 (!?!) It looks like our regular user willing to connect to his company intranet Samba server, will stop here and could not do noting more. If he/she clicks the Help button of the form it will be lost as could not found any useful intonation. This is because for this connection option there are given only 6 rows of information without any example or possible options how to use them. Also searching the Web does not give exact and practical explanation how one can connect LibreOffice to a Samba server via above Servers... button. Even it is not clear is it possible at all. My suggestion is to give in the help system more practical explanations with some examples about how to connect. Such explanations should be written so, to make it easy to connect for any LibreOffice users, not only for the IT hackers. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113132] Find & Replace: The height of the dialog window decreases, if a font as text format to search for is selected
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113132 Mike changed: What|Removed |Added Version|5.4.2.2 release |5.2.0.4 release --- Comment #7 from Mike --- Confirmed with Version: 6.1.0.3 (x64) Build ID: efb621ed25068d70781dc026f7e9c5187a4decd1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; Locale: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: group threaded but I found more hints about the cause for this issue. Summary: Actual: Window height of 'Find & Replace' doesn't adjust, if you select additional formatting options in 'Search for formatting' sub-window. Selected options get displayed in a new line that's added below 'Find' field. But the height is kept, so 'Attributes' and 'No Format' overlap 'Help' and 'Close'. Adjusting height requires closing and reopening. Expected: Height of 'Find & Replace' adjusts, when I select a formatting option in 'Search for formatting' sub window and click 'OK'. 1. Open 'Find & Replace'. 2. Choose any formatting option and click 'OK'. → New line under 'find' displays selected option(s). → Buttons 'Attributes' and 'No format' overlap 'Help' and 'Close'. → Height of window stays same. 3. Close window. 4. Open 'Find & Replace' again. → Selected option is kept and displayed below 'Find'. → Window height is now increased. Before the redesign of 'Find & Replace' window in 5.2, it had some empty extra space below the 'Find' and the 'Replace' field to display selected formatting options. In 5.2 this space was removed. I attached a PDF with screenshots. Some users don't have the issue, because width of 'Find & Replace' varies with language of UI. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119192] Expanded Font Name on Text Formatting toolbar incorrect: Linux Libertine Display G
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119192 --- Comment #3 from russell --- Created attachment 144092 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=144092&action=edit 4 screen captures of Font Name drop-down Please see the attached image. I did one more test. I moved my Libreoffice profile to a backup name and restarted Libreoffice with a new profile. On linux the profile is kept: $HOME/.config/Libreoffice/4/user I had to make three initial changes: - Tools > Options > Libreoffice > View > Icon style: Elementary (Old: Breeze) - View > Toolbars > Text Formatting (On) - View > Toolbars > Drawing (Off) When I clicked on the Font Name drop-down box, the font showed as "Linux Libertine Display G". This was a different result. However, since this was a new profile, there were no known font. So I closed Impress and opened up Writer. I created two lines. The first line was formatted with Bitstream Vera Sans, the second Arial, and then I saved the document. I really didn't care what the fonts were, I just wanted some known fonts. When you do this Libreoffice puts these fonts at the top of the font list, separated from the entire list by a vertical bar. Now I reopened the Lively_AlphabetonlyFirely.odp file and repeated the test. The results were as originally reported. The Font Name drop-down box shows "Linux Libertine Display G", but when you expand it, it did not. The 2-character copy issue worked the same in all tests. NOTE: When I moved my original profile back, all the recently used documents were gone. I had to restore the user directory from a system backup. cd $HOME/.config/libreoffice/4 mv user user.today # Do libreoffice test mv user.today user # Recently used files gone -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118897 --- Comment #9 from LibreTraining --- Hi Jon, Thanks for "the font" but I do think we need to test with all the fonts installed. I think part of the LO fonts problems stem from the family names, etc. not being handled properly. Please send me the full package of fonts so I can replicate what you had installed. Specifically which fonts did you have installed? I sent you my full package of Gills Sans Nova fonts. Please test on your system. I had installed just all the regular fonts and the Shadowed Light - and it appeared in the font list. I did not install all the fonts at once though we may also want to test that too. I will install the same fonts you had installed and post my results back here. Once we know how each package works on each of our systems I can examine the font files metadata to see if I can determine why there is an issue. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119202] New: LibreOffice apps should not change their WM_CLASS values after being launched
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119202 Bug ID: 119202 Summary: LibreOffice apps should not change their WM_CLASS values after being launched Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: framework Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: n...@kde.org Description: This bug affects all LO 6.x apps. It was not present in 5.x. When you launch (for example) LO Writer, it creates a generic window with the class WM_CLASS "libreoffice LibreOffice 6.0". After a moment, it changes the WM_CLASS to "libreoffice libreoffice-writer". This causes issues in KDE Plasma: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396871 Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use KDE Plasma (any recent version) 2. Use an Icons-only task manager 3. Install LibreOffice 6.x 4. Pin LO Writer to your Icons-Only Task Manager and move it so it's not the last pinned icon 5. Click on the LO Writer icon that you've pinned to your Icons-Only Task Manager Actual Results: Because the WM_CLASS value changes, a new icon is created at the end of the list rather than the Task Manager knowing that it's an instance of the pinned app and re-using the pinned app icon. See the video in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396871 (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_G69tnyXNT_CQPBC8JOCl3LIgL7zyxyB/view?usp=sharing) Expected Results: The WM_CLASS value should not change, which would allow the Task Manager to know that the spawned window is an instance of the pinned app. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: The issue could be resolved by having each LO app use the same WM_CLASS value for the generic window as for the actual UI window that the user will interact with. (it would also be solved by doing away with the whole immediately-spwan-a-generic-dummy-window thing entirely but I imagine that's more architecturally complex or else it would have already been done). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

For example LO is calculating the position of the mouse clicks wrong? What's the resolution of your display? btw: I have this problem only in LibreOffice, all other programs are working as expected (including GTK+ and Qt applications). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Update contents - title text is missing Makes sense, because it's not Outline. What I don't see is why Prolog is in ToC in the first place. But given we don't know how this was created, I would close this one as NotABug.
