https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119353 Bug ID: 119353 Summary: Error backup filename Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.5.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: wf...@online.de LibreOfficePortable_6.0.5_Rev_3_MultilingualStandard.paf LO saves the backup files in the "backup" directory. Each backup file is given the filename extension *.bak. I have the original files xxx.odt and xxx.ods. Both get the backup filename xxx.bak in the backup directory. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119219] For Japanese vertical writing, the first word's candidate list obscures the text.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119219 --- Comment #5 from typing...@gmail.com --- I am sorry for a separate comment. I did not know that I could add the comment right when adding a new file. It seems that I cannot edit the comment. I recorded the screen using a free recorder (sorry for the watermark at the centre). This is a freshly installed Windows 10 April 2018 Update (that is, the latest version), and I have not changed anything except that I added the Japanese IME. At first very typing, it did not happen, so I thought it might be due to Kana Input (which I use), so I changed it to Kana Input before recording the screen, but after this recording, I could confirm that it also happens with Romaji Input. Anyways, at the very beginning, it did not happen but then I changed the mode to Direct Input and then typed a space, and then pressed the backspace to delete it. I am not sure if that is related to this problem or not, but after the first line, this problem continued to happen for all lines without switching the mode. The video format is "FLV" which can be played with most of the famous video players such as VLC or PotPlayer. I thought that I could have convert it to more popular format such as MP4, but I was afraid that it might degrade the crispness or increase the file size. But let me know if you cannot play "FLV". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Goto menu Page, item Properties. Set the document size to DIN A5, landscape. Set the page margins to 0cm. Click OK. Expected behavior: LibreOffice tells you, that the margin is smaller than your printer allows and ask you whether you want those margin nevertheless. If you want to keep your settings, you get 0cm margins. Current behavior: The margins are set to 0cm without dialog, but if you open the dialog again, it shows 1cm for all four sides. Try with 0.5cm, which should be allowed by your printer. Close and reopen the dialog. For me right and bottom margin appear as 1cm. Try with 2cm for all four sides. Again, when reopening the dialog you see 1cm for right and bottom. If you click OK, the actual margins do not change to the shown values. That indicates, that the internal values are correct, but the display in the dialog is wrong. Master view acts the same. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119347] New: VIEWING: Font metrics mixed up when selecting Arabic characters in Writer
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119347 Bug ID: 119347 Summary: VIEWING: Font metrics mixed up when selecting Arabic characters in Writer Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.4.6.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: vaaydayaa...@gmail.com Description: In most fonts, many characters in the Arabic script change their width and height as typing progresses. For example the letter ب (U+0628) is reduced to about a half or even a third of its width if it's followed by another character such as ا (U+0627): با. Usually LibreOffice understands the changes in font metrics pretty well but not always. See the attached screenshot where I've written the sentence "مرحبا يا صديقي العزيز" in Writer and started selecting letters from the beginning of the line. The selection shown in the screenshot looks like the whole first word plus the following space but actually it only covers the first 4 letters of the first word out of 5 total: مرحب. From a user's point of view, this is very confusing, as I can't tell how far I've already selected without counting the characters in my mind. Even more surprisingly, LibreOffice Calc shows the selection as expected, i.e. different from Writer, so this does not feel like a font problem per se, although only some fonts display this behavior. The font I'm using in this example is Scheherazade, available through a third-party repository at packages.sil.org (Debian package fonts-sil-scheherazade). The font is designed to cover a very wide variety of characters used for Arabic-script minority languages in both Asia and Africa, and in many cases it's the only professionally made font available for people working on many of these languages. This bug was first reported on Launchpad for LO 5.4.6.2 on Ubuntu 17.10 at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1772520 . After my initial report, I have upgraded to LO 6.0.3.2 and can still reproduce the problem. Another user on Launchpad confirmed the bug on LO 6.0.3.2, as well. Steps to Reproduce: 1. In a new Writer document, change font to Scheherazade and paragraph directionality to RTL. 2. Type مرحبا يا صديقي العزيز 3. Go to the beginning of the line (extreme right as this is a RTL language) and select 4 characters by pressing Shift+Left four times. Actual Results: On screen, it looks like you have selected the whole first word and the following space (altogether 6 characters). In reality, only the first 4 characters have been selected. Expected Results: Visually, only 4 characters should appear selected. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 6.0.3.2 Build ID: 1:6.0.3-0ubuntu1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); Calc: group -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119346] New: Rotated Arabic text is displaced in PDF when substitute glyphs are used
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119346 Bug ID: 119346 Summary: Rotated Arabic text is displaced in PDF when substitute glyphs are used Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.4.6.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Printing and PDF export Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: vaaydayaa...@gmail.com Description: In this example, I created a document with a few Arabic-script characters (U+08A2, U+08A3 & U+08A4), which were quite recently added to Unicode for various Arabic-script African languages such as Fulfulde. The font I had used in the rest of the document was DejaVu Sans, so I used that font setting even for these characters. In reality, these glyphs are not found in DejaVu Sans but had to be substituted from another font, in my case Scheherazade (from fonts-sil-scheherazade, available through packages.sil.org). After rotating the letters by 90 degrees, everything looked fine on the screen but when I created a PDF, everything was displaced about one inch upwards and one inch to the left. See the attached screenshot, where everything looks fine, and the PDF where all the letters are displaced. If I change the font setting for this text to Scheherazade, everything looks fine even in a generated PDF. So apparently LibreOffice gets confused by the different font metrics of the two fonts, the one selected by the user and the one used as the real source for the glyphs. This bug was first reported on Launchpad for LO 5.4.6.2 on Ubuntu 17.10 at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1774244 . After my initial report, I have upgraded to LO 6.0.3.2 and can still reproduce the problem. Another user on Launchpad confirmed the bug on LO 6.0.3.2 and 6.1.0.3 on Ubuntu 18.04, as well. Steps to Reproduce: 1. In a new Writer document, type Arabic characters that are not present in the default font (in my example "ࢢࢣࢤ"). 2. Select the text and rotate it by 90 degrees through the Font properties dialog. 3. Generate a PDF. Actual Results: In the generated PDF, the text is displaced one inch to the left and one inch upwards. In Writer everything looks fine. Expected Results: The generated PDF should look the same as the document view in Writer. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 113091] Bump in CPU usage when deleting a bullet row
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113091 --- Comment #11 from Jan-Marek Glogowski --- First: higher CPU usage isn't bad! I expect it and faster processing (less time) after my Scheduler changes, as they removed a sleep from task processing path affecting all tasks. The only real measurement would be instruction count *and* time, eventually even instructions over time, if GUI is involved, which is also hard to analyze. Second: interactivity / responsiveness is valued higher then speed. MM used to block LO. When I cleaned up the task priorities, interactivity during MM went up a lot, so typing now slows down MM processing visibly. If the platforms are compatible in HW and SW (aka HW acceleration via OpenGL), interactivity differences ("notice the slowdown") might be a valid bug. But generally these are hard to analyze and therefore hard to fix. BTW: you can test https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/59279/, which fixes a general Writer background job handling bug, which strangely just seem to affect Windows. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Note 2: I'm getting an error trying to upload my attachment; I attach a spreadsheet in which the calculations of formulii on columns M and N are manifestly wrong. In both columns, the formulas are just trying to fetch a single value from a cell on the same row - e.g. =+J2 The method to create the issue was 1. In cell M2, enter a formula +J2 2. CMD-C to copy the formula 3. Select many cells in the M column 4. CMD-V to paste the formula Expected result: - The formula copies and calculates values Actual results - The formula copies, but the values displayed for all cells in a column is that which would be correct for the final row of the column - in the attached example, M295 is correct and gives its values to M2-M294. N108 is correct and gives its value to N2-N107, which are incorrect. You can try this at home: - If you open the file - CMD-C the formula at the bottom of the list (e.g. M295) - CMD-V the formula to the next cell down (e.g. into M296) then the values for the entire column change to those for M295. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
