[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118269] Comment Shortcut "Ctrl + Alt + C" not functional for some locales

Yet: Word uses Ctrl-Alt-M :). I don't care about what Word uses, I would like to avoid the mess we had in LO with bug 97908 / bug 100908 & duplicates. (In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #7) > No, it also functions correctly on Windows installs, but admittedly there > can be conflicts with OS where Deadkeys and AltGr mappings are also present. Functions correctly and having conflicts sounds the opposite to me. My experience is that it functions correctly with English - US keyboard layout, but not with English - US International. You could say it's not broken in Windows in general, that's true. > No, believe the +C works correctly on Windows 10 in all > locales, so the Shortcut could be tightened up to distinguish between > Left/Right Alt key. It doesn't depend on locale, but on keyboard layout, and I have doubts the shortcut works with Left Alt all the time. I don't have Windows 10 at hand, but with Windows 7 it doesn't. Considering the previous failed attempt at fixing such keyboard shortcuts that resulted in broken key combinations, I would find the safest to avoid all Ctrl + Alt shortcuts as primary ones (I'm fine with leaving the current shortcuts as legacy ones for keyboard layouts where they worked). There's a very clear distinction between phasing out Ctrl + Alt shortcut combinations or trying to make them work somehow: Phasing them out requires no programming effort, and has no chance of introducing regressions plaguing different non-US keyboard layouts. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119498] New: Highlighting white font on white background is invisible
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119498 Bug ID: 119498 Summary: Highlighting white font on white background is invisible Product: LibreOffice Version: 3.3.0 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: panther3...@gmail.com I'm using this version: Version: 6.1.0.3 Build ID: efb621ed25068d70781dc026f7e9c5187a4decd1 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: CL Sometimes it is useful to "hide" text in the document by making it white font on a white background. However, when using the mouse to highlight (ie: select) the text, it is still invisible. This should not be. In Microsoft Word, for example, using Ctrl + A to select all text in a document causes the selection "highlighting" to be dark if the font is light. Therefore, invisible text becomes visible. Please add a feature like that in LibreOffice, to make text that is below a certain threshold of darkness to be highlighted with a dark background in order to make it visible when selecting it via the mouse or Ctrl + A or whatever. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117207] Font rendering of Open Sans Condensed inside SVG in LibreOffice
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117207 LibreTraining changed: What|Removed |Added CC||libretraining.tutorials@gma ||il.com --- Comment #9 from LibreTraining --- Think I figured-out what is happening. The upper font is the correct Open Sans Condensed Bold. The lower font being displayed is the regular width Open Sans Italic. Inkscape is embedding the font using the Typographic Family and Typographic Subfamily. Typographic Family: Open Sans Typographic Subfamily: Condensed Light Italic It appears that LibreOffice generally tries to use the Font Family rather than the Typographic Family. All of the regular width Open Sans fonts have "Open Sans" as the Font Family. When I tested the Open Sans family a few days ago LO had all kinds of issues with it trying display the correct fonts with the metadata supplied. Many large font families display perfectly in LO. Some are a complete mess. Open Sans is a mess. And which version of Open Sans you have makes a difference. If you have the v1.10 from OpenSans.com some of the font have Ope Sans as the Font Family, and there is a separate Open Sans Light family. Same version from Font Squirrel. The improved/ enhanced version 1.71 from Free OpenType Fonts has Open Sans as the Font Family on all fonts which makes LO crazy. Thinking of making a family that works properly in LO on all platforms. So the bottom line is that the way Inkscape is identifying the font is confusing LO. Take a look in the SVG file and you can see. And compare how Inkscape is selecting fonts in a family in their interfaces vs. how LO is selecting the same fonts in their interface. I tested the Open Sans Condensed fonts in LO 6.1.0.3 x64 on Windows 7 x64. LibreOffice selected the font like this - Font Family: Open Sans Condensed - Font Subfamily: Italic Inkscape selected the font like this - Typographic Family: Open Sans - Typographic Subfamily: Condensed Light Italic This is what is in the SVG file that LO does not understand. So it picked what it thought was the correct font. . -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118872] LibreOffice Crashed After installing multiple variants of a fonts
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118872 --- Comment #6 from LibreTraining --- This was tested on 6.1.0.1; should try again on 6.1.0.3. It sounds like LO was not responding and you closed it. Is that correct? That is different than a complete crash. I have been testing many font families on LibreOffice lately. And I have been installing the font files for each family all at once by selecting all the font files, right-clicking, and selecting install. This causes LO to be "Not Responding" for quite awhile. While it is not responding the screen "goes white" and then it comes back, you think it is back, you click anywhere and it again goes to white and not responding. It cycles through this quite a few times before I actually have back control and a cursor. I just tested installing the 18 font files from Helvetica Neue Condensed and timed it. It took a little over 3 minutes to regain control. I installed all the Roboto font files yesterday with a similar time lag. So I am wondering if you could wait longer and regain control. Because it sounds like you manually closed the non-responding LO. There was another user with a different issue with LO on Windows 10, and their LO took 7 minutes to come back. I am on Windows 7 x64 using LO 6.1.0.3 x64. Been testing a lot of font families. and have been doing other things when waiting for LO to come back after installing font families. I assume LO is rebuilding its font cache and that is a substantial part of the lag. Once it is done I do have immediate access to the new fonts in the fonts list and go back to work creating the samples for all the fonts in that family. So I would recommend: - testing with LO 6.1.0.3 - waiting longer, it may come back . -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82177 --- Comment #14 from Justin L --- Since these are CELL borders (and not table borders) this inside valueH value is moot on a single cell - it only can apply to a cluster of cells. 17.4.25 insideV (Table Cell Inside Vertical Edges Border) This element specifies the border which shall be displayed on all interior vertical edges of the current group of table cells. [Note: Although individual table cells have no concept of an internal edge, which would render this property useless in most cases, it is used to determine the cell borders to apply to a specific group of cells as part of table conditional formatting in a table style, for example, the inside vertical edges on the set of cells in the header row. end note] -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

That is the introducing of the dialog for migration from internal HSQLDB to internal Firebird. Alex' attachments show: There also appear dialogs for opening other databases with password, which aren't internal databases. The dialog is the hint for a wrong behaviour of Writer. The databases shouldn't be opened when you go to Insert > Field > More Fields "More Fields" doesn't need opening of all databases which are registered in LibreOffice. It will need to open a database when switching to this special database to see, which fields are in this database and should connected to my Writer document. The migration-dialog should warn the user before migrating to Firebird. Without this dialog the databases would be migrated in the backgrund and the user won't know why there is a Firebird-database instead of HSQLDB and why some functions aren't working any more. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
