[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119555] "cloning" graphics for improved memory usage

2018-08-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119555

I was thinking that LO would embedd the same graphic several times, because the
document I am working with was so big (7MB). I just found out that it wasn't
the problem with the multiple copies of this one graphic, but another embedded
.emf graphic that had 4.5 MB by itself.

Marking as invalid.

Yes I concur, this is a needed feature. Sometimes you need multiple
subreports, without having to run a huge BI solution like Jasper.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 106330] Single click on a selected text box should activate text editing, not double click

2018-08-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106330

--- Comment #9 from brian.bj.parke...@gmail.com ---
Just a final followup.
I have just realized that LO Impress actually already supports a key sequence
as efficient as what I proposed: in current Impress (Version: 6.1.0.3) the
first single click selects the edit box as always, but then a second single
click, while appearing to do nothing, in fact selects the insertion point such
that simply typing text after the second single click will automatically select
edit mode and insert the text in the appropriate spot with no double click
required.

So I agree, this works for me as well.

This bug report mentioned different issues I encountered after following the
same steps. Let it only concern the issue Tomaž fixed, thanks for that! Closing
as FIXED.

I'm not getting an assert anymore, perhaps that's gone as well, but saving
still crashes after consuming a lot of memory, I will check how that behaves
sometimes, and open a different bug report if needed.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

2018-08-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Summary: Add a command line argument to LibreOffice in order to
choose the language of the document which will be
created
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

It is possible to change the language of the current document in “Tools →
Language → For All Text”.
>From a command line, it is possible to execute LibreOffice with a desired
language for the UI with the argument “--language”.

It would be very appreciable to be able to choose the language of the document
which will be created by the execution of LibreOffice through a command line.

Restarting in safe mode allows me to clear the recent documents list, but it
only contains a single entry after restarting, so I'm not sure how helpful that

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119575] New: Clear recent document list crashes LO

2018-08-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119575

Bug ID: 119575
Summary: Clear recent document list crashes LO
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: alt...@acm.org

Description:
I seem to have had a problem with the recent document list for a while. By
that I mean the document list contains documents that no longer exist (I
deleted them) and new documents I've created or opened don't appear there.
It's like the list is frozen in time.

Today, I tried clearing the list to see if that would fix the issue, but
instead it crashed LibreOffice. I was in Calc if that makes a difference.

After LO crashes, the Document Recovery dialog appears. I click OK and the
dialog goes away and nothing happens. I need to kill the LibreOffice process
from Task Manager and open the spreadsheet again.

Crash report is here:
http://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/37e835c0-86e5-4a3d-b809-076e58fa7686

Steps to Reproduce:
I had a "full" recent's list to start with and, as noted above, the list wasn't
being updated.
1. Open a spreadsheet
2. File->Recent Documents->Clear List

Actual Results:
LO crashes. Document Recovery dialog appears listing open documents. Click OK
to recover them, the dialog goes away and nothing happens. I need to go into
the Task Manager to kill LibreOffice. After killing LO, I can then open a
document.

Expected Results:
Clear the list (or prompt me first).

Using the YIELD function, with basis argument 3 ("Exact number of days in
month, year has 365 days"), for the different settlement and maturity dates but
with the same number of days inbetween those dates, results in different yield
numbers.

They are also different from the output in MS Excel while the two programs
agree when the default basis of 0 is used (360 days in the year, 30 days in the
month).

Maybe something is going wrong with the dates math.

I don’t know why you’re bringing up the ellipsis. It doesn’t matter! What
matters in the translation is choosing the right placement for the accelerator

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119571] New: When tracking changes, paragraph joining does not update the style of the text after the deleted paragraph break until show changes is toggled

2018-08-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119571

Bug ID: 119571
Summary: When tracking changes, paragraph joining does not
update the style of the text after the deleted
paragraph break until show changes is toggled
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: nem...@numbertext.org

Description:
Partial paragraph deletion at end of a paragraph including the paragraph break
results paragraph joining, when the text of the next paragraph changes its
style to the style of the partially deleted paragraph, except in the case of
change tracking with 'Show changes' mode, when the style changes is invisible
after extra text addition, too. Only document saving or switching to the "don't
show changes" updates the view of the paragraph text.

Steps to Reproduce:
Delete the end of the first paragraph of the attached text document in Show
changes.

Actual Results:
Missing style update of the joined text after the deleted paragraph break.

Expected Results:
Heading 1 style on the text of the (originally second) paragraph.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I think this is not a bug, and not a regression. Please look at my video.

The checkboxes can be formatted.

So, if we cancel the formatting, all the checkboxes are the same, and can be
formatted after that as we wish.

So, in my opinion, this case is closed.

I doubt this is about the specific scaling algorithm in use, although you are
welcome to try the others.

VCL has this weird notion is alpha is a separate kind of mask layer and I
suspect that somewhere the layer is being treated as a real mask instead of as
alpha.

Looking for the conversion, is the Fast bitmap scaling from the SVG stream the
best mode to build the PNG cache? Would "BestQuality" or a specific algorithm
do a better job with the Alpha channel and icon quality on Windows?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119569] New: Open Sub-Form causes PostgreSQL error

2018-08-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119569

Bug ID: 119569
Summary: Open Sub-Form causes PostgreSQL error
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: albrecht.dr...@arcor.de

Created attachment 144518
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=144518=edit
Minimal test case for reproducing the bug

I created a LibreOffice document which accesses a PostgreSQL database using the
native (“Database type: PostgreSQL”) driver. If a form contains a linked
sub-form, opening it will cause a postgres server error message due to a
malformed query.

Please see the attached minimal test case:
- create the test db by calling (as postgres superuser)
  psql postgres < lotest.sql
- open LO-Test.odb, select Forms, and double-click “Testform”

This causes the following messages in the Postgresql server log:

ERROR: syntax error at or near ":" at character 82
STATEMENT: SELECT * FROM "public"."tab2" WHERE ( 0 = 1 ) AND ( (
"public"."tab2"."ref_id" = :link_from_id ) )

The bug is reproducible with LibreOffice 6.0.4.2 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and 6.1.0
on Debian Stretch.

Apart from the initial faulty query, the form works as expected.

Side note: there are some similar but closed issues regarding the JDBC driver
where setting an advanced connection option should solve the bug. The
PostgreSQL driver apparently doesn't support these options, though (the
“Advanced Settings…” menu entry is inactive).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119567] New: Repeated print with deleted comments doesn't open printer window from 6.0

2018-08-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119567

Bug ID: 119567
Summary: Repeated print with deleted comments doesn't open
printer window from 6.0
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha0+
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gti...@gmail.com

While testing Bug 112294 I came to this one:
1. Open a document with comments or add comment to a new document
2. Open File -> Print (can be PDF printer)
3. Select Print Comments "Place in margins"
4. Print the document
5. Delete all comments
6. Open File -> Print and choose the same or another printer
7. Press OK to print

Expected: Print window
Experienced: no Print window, even if 6. and 7. repeated

8. Open File -> Print again
9. Press Cancel (to cancel, as Help frequently says)

Experienced: here come Print window (or windows if 6. and 7. repeated)

Repro from 6.0 to 6.2+. Not with 5.4. Marked regression.

>From what I've read about covers in EPUB files, although it appears that the
cover's entry in the manifest is enough information to identify it as such, the
meta tag must also be present.

In addition, for an EPUB file to be compatible withe Apple's iBooks
application, a guide section must also be present, with the cover specified
there, as well. At the moment, writer does not produce a guide section.

Check, e.g., https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Ebook_Covers

Thanks for checking. For now switch from default Tango icon theme (through
6.0.6) to Breeze or Sifr. Likewise from Colibre at 6.1.0 to Breeze, Sifr or
Karasa Jaga.

You had marked this bug as 6.0.6.2 but your screen clip comment 3 shows Colibre
is the affected icon theme--so are you on 6.0.6.2 or the 6.1.0.3 release? Maybe
clip the Help -> About details text.

Screenshot showing thumbnails of the two EPUB files

(In reply to Dieter Praas from comment #2)
> Couldn't see any differences between those two files, when I opened them
> with Edge-Browser.

Which two files? the two EPUB files or the OEBPS/content.opf file contained in
the two EPUB files?

If the former, in which case Edge acts as an EPUB reader, you shouldn't see any
difference; you should simply see the single page of the document, which is the
same in both EPUB files.

If the latter, in which case Edge acts as an XML viewer, search for

in fixed.epub's OEBPS/content.opf, which is not present in bad.epub's
OEBPS/content.opf.

Check the attached screen shot from EBookDroid on my tablet. It shows the books
in a folder. For fixed.epub it shows a thumbnail of the cover. For bad.epub, it
shows a thumbnail of the first page of the document.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119566] New: FILESAVE - Presentation settings not saved in PPTX format

2018-08-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119566

Bug ID: 119566
Summary: FILESAVE - Presentation settings not saved in PPTX
format
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bureautiqueli...@nantesmetropole.fr

Steps to reproduce this bug:

1/ Create slideshow
2/ Go to slideshow / slideshow settings
3/ Set Loop and repeat after + any number of minutes
4/ Save to PPTX

Reopen file (in Impress or any other software)

No loop and repeat are set.

Likely a regression, version 5.2 kept these settings OK.

Bug is present in latest official 6.x version

Regards,
Eric Ficheux
