[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119862] New: Navigation Pane, sidebar mode, autonomous vertical jump to current selected heading item

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119862

Bug ID: 119862
Summary: Navigation Pane, sidebar mode, autonomous vertical
jump to current selected heading item
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rdbing...@verizon.net

LO Version: 6.1.0.3 (x64)
Build ID: efb621ed25068d70781dc026f7e9c5187a4decd1
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: CL

HW: HP laptop, Xeon CPU, multiple displays, Intel P630 graphics built-in +
Nvidia M-series GPU, all current patches.

To reproduce:
(A) Navigation Pane (NP) showing, headings filter set to show headings.

(B) An open Writer doc that has a sufficient number of headings *and* NP
header_levels_to_display parameter is set high enough *and* enough headings are
expanded such that the header navigation tree, when partially or fully
expanded, requires more vertical display than available in the NP and thus a
vertical scroll bar appears in the pane. For diagnostic assurance, arrange for
the vertical space required to be at least twice the NP vertical display space.

(C) Select any heading navigation item, which highlights by font inversion,
such that the selected item can be manually scrolled vertically out of view.

(D) Before vertical scroll test, observe if the selected item is flickering at
anywhere from ~0.5 to ~2 second intervals.

(E) Vertically scroll the selected item out of view then wait.

Observed Behavior:

(F) The NP display autonomously vertically scrolls the display to bring the
selected item back in to view approximately within about the flicker interval
observed in (E).

(G) No difference in observed behavior between Intel-driven builtin display and
external Nvidia-driven displays.

Expected Behavior:
+ If the user manually scrolls the NP, there was a reason for that, perhaps to
study other parts of the navigation tree, and the scroll action should stick,
not jump around on its own.

+ If the intent is a "return to selection view" action, the user should be able
to specify the behavior, such as by button or timeout option.

Comments:
Not clear if the observed behavior is a feature or a bug.

IF a feature, then the usability bug is that a user cannot easily collapse the
navigation tree within in the autonomous scroll trigger time. It can take
noticeably longer than the flicker interval to:
1) Scroll the NP pane up, then
2) Visually locate a suitable "collapse sub-tree section" target, then
3) Position the mouse point over the target, then
4) Select the target and collapse the sub-tree

The UI problem is that before the user can achieve #4 above the NP jumps
vertically, usually putting the desired collapse target out of view. The user
has to start again.

Workarounds:
(a) Depending on the local structure of the tree in view, a user may be able to
"walk" up the tree using collapse targets also in view when the (C) selected
item is in view.

(b)If the local structure is such that no collapse targets are in view, the
user is has to "walk" the item selection up toward the nearest parent collapse
target.

(c) Fiddle the NP docking to maximize available vertical display space.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119861] New: Cannot change animation effects and categories for groups of objects

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119861

Bug ID: 119861
Summary: Cannot change animation effects and categories for
groups of objects
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gus...@hotmail.it

Description:
Suppose I have some objects, like a text frame, a formula and a picture. I want
to make them disappear in the same way and at the same time.
I can select all of them and add the animation, by clicking the "+" button in
the animation window. Unfortunately, I cannot change the default category
"Entrance", as well as the effects and delay (and other options besides the
"Start" option).
I remember I could do this in a previous version of Libreoffice Impress.
Changing the objects animations one by one is really annoying, please try to
change this...
Thank you for your availability.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create some objects, like a text frame, a formula and an imported picture.
2.Select them all and add an animation for the group.
3.Try to change the category from "Entrance" to other, or change the effect to
assign a common one.

Actual Results:
You cannot change the category or effect or delay to be assigned to all the
selected objects.

Expected Results:
Give be the possibility to add the same animation to a specific group of
objects.

Reproducible: Always

I was giving a try to tdf#42905 that I could reproduce and found (again! since
I was already in cc) this bug on Google searching "hsqldb autovalue".
1) Isn't it a dup?
2) ActiveConnexionPool is disabled by default and even if I enable it,
com.sun.star.sdbcx.comp.hsqldb.Driver is already to NO and it doesn't work.

Did I miss something?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119860] New: Text positioning in shape objects does not work anymore both in Impress and Draw

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119860

Bug ID: 119860
Summary: Text positioning in shape objects does not work
anymore both in Impress and Draw
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: silva...@katamail.com

Description:
In shape objects in Impress and Draw you can insert text. The "text" dialog box
allows to specify the position of the text in the shape, as well other settings
(e.g. if the text flows automatically inside the shape).
In 6.1.*.* any change of the text position inside the shape is ignored, the
latter remaining always in the center. No workaround, apparently. Makes using
shapes with text inside impossible.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a new impress or Draw document. Draw a simple rectangle on the page.
Give color background to the rectangle, so that it is simple to select and move
it around.
2. Now with a double click on the rectangle the text cursor appears and you can
insert some text; write some sentence, possibly long enough so that to fit into
the shape it must wrap on multiple lines.
3. Now choose Format menu, Command "text". The appropriate dialog box appears,
switch on the "text flows inside the shape" option (this is a translation from
the Italian version, english original may vary slightly). The text is now
psread on some lines so to fit inside the shape.
4. Recall the "text" dialog box again; on the right side you have a rectanlge
with some handles that helps you move the text around the shape. For example,
click on the upper left corner: the should now move from the center to the
upper left of the shape. Instead, it remains in the center.
5. This happens cicking ANYWHERE, any corner or any point in the middle of the
rectangle edges, no changes at all.
6. When you reopen the dialog box, you can see your choice was ignored, and in
the rectangle there the active point is always the center, no mater what you
chose before.
7. Now create a text object by choosing the "insert text box" button (this is
rectangular by default), and write the same text in it. In this case, the text
is placed at the upper left corner of the rectangle.
8. open the "text" dialog box again, this time relative to the text box. The
layout of the dialog is the same as before (a rectangle with the corners and
middle edges clickable). The active point here is the upper left corner.
9. As before, any effort to change the active point for text placement is
ignored. The only difference is the immutable starting point.

In all, work with presentations that go beyond the most basic instances is
severely impaired.
Alas again (as with bug
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118820) this can be reason
enough to downgrade to 6.0, which DID NOT have this problem.
I sincerely cannot figure out how a second digit release can cause so much
trouble in the correct application of simple formatting... I am now doing some
testing on a 6.1.1.2 parallel install with some trepidation every time I an
changing some object's settings

Actual Results:
Text position in shapes and text boxes in Impress and Draw cannot be changed.
the dialog box for this ignores the change the user tries to apply.

Expected Results:
Clicking to any corner or middle edge in the dialog box should allow to move
text in the desired position. This happened until 6.0.6

Reproducible: Always

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118500

This has still not solved 115407. When the file is closed and reopened, the
transition sound box now still holds the required sound, it does not actually
play. If the sound is picked again from the drop-down sounds list, then it will
play again. If 'stop previous sound' is selected from the drop-down list then
on closing and reopening, it has reverted to 'no sound'.

The behavior of the Font size control is common to:

Formatting toolbar
Character dialog
Properties Content panel of Sidebar

Enabling active edit (overwrite) on entry into the textbox control would be
more efficient, but must be implemented consistently. I'd also expect an
to revert any edit prior to it being applied--leaving the current value in
place.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119540] Pasting unformatted text in a fully selected right table cell pastes in both cells. Right one will include hashtags

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119540

Happening to me too in a new document.
1. New Writer document.
2. Type "abc".
3. Select All.
4. Copy.
5. Create a new two-cell table.
6. Select both cells.
7. Paste Unformatted.

One cell will be ok, the other one w#i#l#l# #n#o#t#.

Try it on a 10x10 table; you will see different results. It will always be one
correct cell and the rest incorrect. Behavior varies depending on what is the
first selected column and the direction on which the selection is made.

Problem does not occur using normal pasting.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119858] New: After document is loaded from file, one of tables in middle of the document is moved to next page

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119858

Bug ID: 119858
Summary: After document is loaded from file, one of tables in
middle of the document is moved to next page
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tomasz.palutkiew...@gmail.com

Description:
When document is saved, some page in the middle of document contains a short
paragraph of text with page title, table with most of it's content and a bit of
free space at the bottom (I tried versions with and without empty paragraph
below the table to see if it will resolve problem - it didn't).

When document is loaded, title paragraph remains at the top, but everything
below is moved to next page and moves rest of document to following pages. When
I change the size of title paragraph (even if I make i larger!), the table goes
back to its proper place.

It wastes a bit of time every time I return to the document to edit it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create paragraph at top of the page
2. create table which fills most of remaining page space
3. save the document to file
4. load the document from file

Actual Results:
Table is moved to next page after document is loaded from file
and needs to be positioned again by some change at original page.

Expected Results:
Table should remain at the place where it was saved.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I think that some calculations during document loading process
use different rounding than those during actual work afterwards,
which causes one of elements to seem larger than it actually is.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119857] New: Multiple comments display and management - ability to toggle visibility of comments and see only selected one

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119857

Bug ID: 119857
Summary: Multiple comments display and management - ability to
toggle visibility of comments and see only selected
one
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tomasz.palutkiew...@gmail.com

Description:
If there are many comments at single page of document,
list of fields at the right side becomes quite long and lines are mixed;
it would be very useful to hide the lines and contents of all comments
and use comment marks to show and hide only particular one.

Additionally it would be nice to manipulate the size of comment marks,
i.e. make it proportional to font size of text where it is placed
or just generally (default) by some comboBox in comment options.

Finally it may be useful to change content and format of comment header (it is
fixed: author, date, time - font size of 12pt).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create multiple comments at one page of the document
2. special case: the same page height, i.e. one row of the table
3. go to and find proper comment to read or edit it

Actual Results:
Long list of comment fields displayed at right side of the page
and a lot of lines connecting them with marks at commented points.

Expected Results:
Most of comment fields can be hidden, so only selected one is visible;
something similar as it is in Acrobat Reader after export to PDF.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The document is a poster with a set of small topics to discuss,
detailed plan of a lecture or perhaps repeatable cycle of lectures.
Comments should contain some speech samples with details for each topic;
so access time of each comment strongly influences work efficiency
as they are and will be read and edited multiple times.

I guess this might get fixed after
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118881

In the meantime, for the curious, how to add/test default themes to LO:

1- Put your theme folders into the 'personas' directory under the shared
'gallery' directory (it was on /usr/lib/libreoffice/share/gallery for my Debian
system). (Create the personas directory first if it doesn't exist)
2- Create a file named personas_list.txt inside the personas directory
3- Put persona details in the personas_list.txt file, one persona per line

Sample content of a personas_list.txt file:

Abstract/preview_large.jpg;Abstract/Header2.jpg;Abstract/Footer2.jpg;#ff;#00
Nature/preview_large.jpg;Nature/Arribaengrande.jpg;Nature/abajogrande.jpg;#ff;#49a83d

Hi Julien,
Yes, these were the defaults when no additional native connector extension was
installed. If the native connector extension was also installed, you got a
radio button option for that too, so a total of 3 entries.

Let's simplify the summary, TWAIN works well thanks to Mike K. but is dependent
on 3rd party TWAIN support. Issue here requires a native Windows os

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119856

Bug ID: 119856
Summary: kde5: Java extension "WollMux" not working properly
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: m.wegh...@posteo.de

version: master build as of commit e95930d96459cc653342e78617db9498255569d0
VCL: kde5 on X11 (the gtk3 VCL plugin e.g. works fine)
platform: Debian testing, Plasma 5 desktop

(Note: It's not expected that any of the volunteers working on LibreOffice
needs to deal more intensely with the details of the WollMux extension. This
bug is mostly to keep track for those directly involved.)

Steps to reproduce:

1) set up the "WollMux" extension (including default configuration) as
described at http://wollmux.org/ and restart LibreOffice Writer
2) select "Tools" -> "Mail merge (WollMux)"

Result: Nothing seems to happen.

Expected result: Two dialogs/windows related to WollMux should come up ("Mail
merge (WollMux)", "Select mail merge data") and the extension can be used to
carry out mail merge.

Sorry to be a bit late with my response.
It seems I had 2 versions of gpg4win: the newest one (3.1.3) and a version
2.3.0.
I found out that path definitions were clobbered. I uninstalled both, removed
some registry entries, rebooted and reinstalled 3.1.3.
After this: no more crashes, macro is signed.
However, if I try to start the Certificate Manager, it can't find it. Oh well,
no big deal.
Sorry for a perhaps too early bug report.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119855] New: kde5: Context menu doesn't collapse when it loses focus

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119855

Bug ID: 119855
Summary: kde5: Context menu doesn't collapse when it loses
focus
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: m.wegh...@posteo.de

version: master build as of commit e95930d96459cc653342e78617db9498255569d0
VCL: kde5 on X11 (the gtk3 VCL plugin e.g. works fine)
platform: Debian testing, Plasma 5 desktop

Steps to reproduce:

0) start any other program of your choice
1) start LibreOffice Writer
2) right-click at any free position in the document -> the context menu appears
3) use keyboard shortcut "Alt" + "Tab" to switch to the window of the other
applications (started in step 0)

Result:

* The other application window gets active (as expected).
* The LibreOffice context menu that appeared in step 2 is still there, now on
top of the other applications window.

Expected result: The LibreOffice context menu should disappear when switching
to the other application.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought that "base" would mean "the core" or so. I'm not a
technician. I am just a great fan of Libreoffice who wants to help in his way.
And now you question:
Yes, I consider this a bug. At least if you want to open a file using
LibreOffice in KDE plasma 5 with global menu. The way things are now that is
impossible.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119853] New: kde5: Unnecessary white window in Base Database Wizard

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119853

Bug ID: 119853
Summary: kde5: Unnecessary white window in Base Database Wizard
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: m.wegh...@posteo.de

version: master build as of commit e95930d96459cc653342e78617db9498255569d0
VCL: kde5 on X11 (the gtk3 VCL plugin e.g. works fine)
platform: Debian testing, Plasma 5 desktop

Steps to reproduce:

1) start LibreOffice Base:

./instdir/program/soffice --base

Result:

"Database Wizard" opens. In addition, there's a white window in the background
that has the window title "soffice.bin".

Expected result: The additional white window should not be there.

[Side note: In addition, some texts are not shown at first on the left-hand
side ("Select database", "Save and proceed" until hovering the mouse over that
place, but that's probably already covered by bug 119720.]

We have no support for 32-bit or 64-bit WIA and associated driver(s)--that is
bug 105762. Rather we remain dependent on TWAIN support--and hence on a 64-bit
TWAIN driver.

So, on this manufacturer deprecated '90s hardware (BenQ does not support it in
current TWAIN or WIA) the only choice is a 3rd party implementation of 64-bit
TWAIN.

We've found that Hamrick Software VueScan drivers provide the useful 64-bit
TWAIN support we need.

Have tested with interface language German.
Field is formatted for French, as you described.
Written 11/12/2018 in the field > next row > 11/12/2018 is saved.

My system: OpenSUSE 15, 64bit rpm Linux, LO 6.1.0.3

So I couldn't confirm the buggy behaviour.

Hi Robert, it is now built-in by default in master, a lot of changes were
pushed recently to integrate it directly so that it became one of the bundled
extensions.

Hi Alex,

where did you get a working native connector for MySQL? I have tried the last
from here:
https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/mysql-native-connector

Doesn't work on my system (OpenSUSE 15.0), so I can't test any bugs of this
connector ...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119850] New: Database creation wizard dialog missing mysql connector options

2018-09-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119850

Bug ID: 119850
Summary: Database creation wizard dialog missing mysql
connector options
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ipla...@tuta.io

Description:
In current master builds:
1) Start the DB creation wizard dialog.
2) Click on connect to existing database and look at the dropdown list. There
is an entry called "Mysql Connector" - this is new, previously it was just
MySQL and choosing it used to lead to a second dialog screen where the user
could select the type of mysql connector.
3) If you now choose MySQL connector, you are led straight to the db/hostname
dialog of the native connector, completely bypassing the other previously
available screens.

This is a regression. Screenshots enclosed

Steps to Reproduce:
See above

Actual Results:
Only native connector configuration dialog is available.

Expected Results:
The first dialog entry should just show "MySQL" and selecting this should lead
to the dialog page allowing the type of connector to be used.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Calc

The symbols in calc turn black, i.e. means list turns instable. This happens
once or twice a day, and I hed to repair it with the repair-function (takes a
long time). Just from today on it is not possible to repair the fault, also a
new start will no help. What is to do ?

In this document the error should be reproducible. It is a short version of the
original document.

Abbildung 23.1: should be Abbildung 24.1.: etc.
The labelling in section 26.11. has no number. this is an error.
The figute in chapter 27 (Abbildung 27.1.:) is labelled correctly.
Tables are labelled correctly.
