[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119862] New: Navigation Pane, sidebar mode, autonomous vertical jump to current selected heading item
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119862 Bug ID: 119862 Summary: Navigation Pane, sidebar mode, autonomous vertical jump to current selected heading item Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.0.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rdbing...@verizon.net LO Version: 6.1.0.3 (x64) Build ID: efb621ed25068d70781dc026f7e9c5187a4decd1 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: CL HW: HP laptop, Xeon CPU, multiple displays, Intel P630 graphics built-in + Nvidia M-series GPU, all current patches. To reproduce: (A) Navigation Pane (NP) showing, headings filter set to show headings. (B) An open Writer doc that has a sufficient number of headings *and* NP header_levels_to_display parameter is set high enough *and* enough headings are expanded such that the header navigation tree, when partially or fully expanded, requires more vertical display than available in the NP and thus a vertical scroll bar appears in the pane. For diagnostic assurance, arrange for the vertical space required to be at least twice the NP vertical display space. (C) Select any heading navigation item, which highlights by font inversion, such that the selected item can be manually scrolled vertically out of view. (D) Before vertical scroll test, observe if the selected item is flickering at anywhere from ~0.5 to ~2 second intervals. (E) Vertically scroll the selected item out of view then wait. Observed Behavior: (F) The NP display autonomously vertically scrolls the display to bring the selected item back in to view approximately within about the flicker interval observed in (E). (G) No difference in observed behavior between Intel-driven builtin display and external Nvidia-driven displays. Expected Behavior: + If the user manually scrolls the NP, there was a reason for that, perhaps to study other parts of the navigation tree, and the scroll action should stick, not jump around on its own. + If the intent is a "return to selection view" action, the user should be able to specify the behavior, such as by button or timeout option. Comments: Not clear if the observed behavior is a feature or a bug. IF a feature, then the usability bug is that a user cannot easily collapse the navigation tree within in the autonomous scroll trigger time. It can take noticeably longer than the flicker interval to: 1) Scroll the NP pane up, then 2) Visually locate a suitable "collapse sub-tree section" target, then 3) Position the mouse point over the target, then 4) Select the target and collapse the sub-tree The UI problem is that before the user can achieve #4 above the NP jumps vertically, usually putting the desired collapse target out of view. The user has to start again. Workarounds: (a) Depending on the local structure of the tree in view, a user may be able to "walk" up the tree using collapse targets also in view when the (C) selected item is in view. (b)If the local structure is such that no collapse targets are in view, the user is has to "walk" the item selection up toward the nearest parent collapse target. (c) Fiddle the NP docking to maximize available vertical display space. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119860] New: Text positioning in shape objects does not work anymore both in Impress and Draw
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119860 Bug ID: 119860 Summary: Text positioning in shape objects does not work anymore both in Impress and Draw Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.1.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: silva...@katamail.com Description: In shape objects in Impress and Draw you can insert text. The "text" dialog box allows to specify the position of the text in the shape, as well other settings (e.g. if the text flows automatically inside the shape). In 6.1.*.* any change of the text position inside the shape is ignored, the latter remaining always in the center. No workaround, apparently. Makes using shapes with text inside impossible. Steps to Reproduce: 1. open a new impress or Draw document. Draw a simple rectangle on the page. Give color background to the rectangle, so that it is simple to select and move it around. 2. Now with a double click on the rectangle the text cursor appears and you can insert some text; write some sentence, possibly long enough so that to fit into the shape it must wrap on multiple lines. 3. Now choose Format menu, Command "text". The appropriate dialog box appears, switch on the "text flows inside the shape" option (this is a translation from the Italian version, english original may vary slightly). The text is now psread on some lines so to fit inside the shape. 4. Recall the "text" dialog box again; on the right side you have a rectanlge with some handles that helps you move the text around the shape. For example, click on the upper left corner: the should now move from the center to the upper left of the shape. Instead, it remains in the center. 5. This happens cicking ANYWHERE, any corner or any point in the middle of the rectangle edges, no changes at all. 6. When you reopen the dialog box, you can see your choice was ignored, and in the rectangle there the active point is always the center, no mater what you chose before. 7. Now create a text object by choosing the "insert text box" button (this is rectangular by default), and write the same text in it. In this case, the text is placed at the upper left corner of the rectangle. 8. open the "text" dialog box again, this time relative to the text box. The layout of the dialog is the same as before (a rectangle with the corners and middle edges clickable). The active point here is the upper left corner. 9. As before, any effort to change the active point for text placement is ignored. The only difference is the immutable starting point. In all, work with presentations that go beyond the most basic instances is severely impaired. Alas again (as with bug https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118820) this can be reason enough to downgrade to 6.0, which DID NOT have this problem. I sincerely cannot figure out how a second digit release can cause so much trouble in the correct application of simple formatting... I am now doing some testing on a 6.1.1.2 parallel install with some trepidation every time I an changing some object's settings Actual Results: Text position in shapes and text boxes in Impress and Draw cannot be changed. the dialog box for this ignores the change the user tries to apply. Expected Results: Clicking to any corner or middle edge in the dialog box should allow to move text in the desired position. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119858] New: After document is loaded from file, one of tables in middle of the document is moved to next page
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119858 Bug ID: 119858 Summary: After document is loaded from file, one of tables in middle of the document is moved to next page Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tomasz.palutkiew...@gmail.com Description: When document is saved, some page in the middle of document contains a short paragraph of text with page title, table with most of it's content and a bit of free space at the bottom (I tried versions with and without empty paragraph below the table to see if it will resolve problem - it didn't). When document is loaded, title paragraph remains at the top, but everything below is moved to next page and moves rest of document to following pages. When I change the size of title paragraph (even if I make i larger!), the table goes back to its proper place. It wastes a bit of time every time I return to the document to edit it. Steps to Reproduce: 1. create paragraph at top of the page 2. create table which fills most of remaining page space 3. save the document to file 4. load the document from file Actual Results: Table is moved to next page after document is loaded from file and needs to be positioned again by some change at original page. Expected Results: Table should remain at the place where it was saved. Reproducible: Sometimes User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: I think that some calculations during document loading process use different rounding than those during actual work afterwards, which causes one of elements to seem larger than it actually is. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119857] New: Multiple comments display and management - ability to toggle visibility of comments and see only selected one
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119857 Bug ID: 119857 Summary: Multiple comments display and management - ability to toggle visibility of comments and see only selected one Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.0.5.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tomasz.palutkiew...@gmail.com Description: If there are many comments at single page of document, list of fields at the right side becomes quite long and lines are mixed; it would be very useful to hide the lines and contents of all comments and use comment marks to show and hide only particular one. Additionally it would be nice to manipulate the size of comment marks, i.e. make it proportional to font size of text where it is placed or just generally (default) by some comboBox in comment options. Finally it may be useful to change content and format of comment header (it is fixed: author, date, time - font size of 12pt). Steps to Reproduce: 1. create multiple comments at one page of the document 2. special case: the same page height, i.e. one row of the table 3. go to and find proper comment to read or edit it Actual Results: Long list of comment fields displayed at right side of the page and a lot of lines connecting them with marks at commented points. Expected Results: Most of comment fields can be hidden, so only selected one is visible; something similar as it is in Acrobat Reader after export to PDF. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: The document is a poster with a set of small topics to discuss, detailed plan of a lecture or perhaps repeatable cycle of lectures. Comments should contain some speech samples with details for each topic; so access time of each comment strongly influences work efficiency as they are and will be read and edited multiple times. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
