That being said, I seriously doubt this would ever be implemented and I would highly doubt the statement of "dozens of teachers will switch" - that's nonsense and we all know it (it's an attempt to push a pet wishlist not a reality of the world). That being said, if some developer at some point wants to tackle this - good luck. Else, it will sit as a low priority enhancement for years to come. @Mike - really no offense, just this is a super niche request and I really don't think any developer on their own time is going to tackle such a specific request that will impact a tiny fraction of our user base. If you and these dozens of teachers you think would switch want to fund an enhancement (I'd say likely in the thousands of euros for the time needed) then feel free to shoot me an email and I will get you in touch with people who may be able to assist. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121527 Jan-Marek Glogowski changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |WORKSFORME --- Comment #11 from Jan-Marek Glogowski --- As far as I can tell the problem is your formatting of the characters in Impress and not a LibreOffice problem. I guess you're talking about Impress slide three. If you check the language of the single characters, all are set to "Korean (RoK)". You can check this by selecting the single character and then Format -> Character… Asian Text Font -> Language. The reason is that LibreOffice knows the language of the text and that the font doesn't have the glyph (= character) in your selected language. So it automatically looks for the correct glyph in the text language in other fonts LibreOffice finds on the system to show the correct character in the selected language, regardless of the selected font. If I change the language of a first character to Japanese, like the font indicates, the glyph actually changes. I don't see a difference between the KR and TC variants, if I set the third character to "Chinese (traditional)", but probably I'm missing a font here. I just tested with my master build which is almost your 6.2 beta, just a bit newer. All the examples available out there that show how to programmatically break links use the property GraphicURL and the documentation only tell us to use Graphic instead of GraphicURL, but that doesn't work in this particular case. After several hours of trying to make it work, give up! So, is it still possible to programatically embed linked images since 6.1.0.3+ ?? What changes should I make to the function above to support both the 6.1.0.3+ and previous versions ? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121380] LibreOffice base readability issue with Dark Theme
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121380 --- Comment #14 from Chuck Bermingham --- @Alex: Your message from 2018-11-14 08:56:58 UTC about a duplicate bug actually points up an awkward problem that is sure to become more of a problem over the years; i.e., light-on-dark lettering. It's become so significant that companies like e-sight will charge patients in excess of $10,000 U.S. to get hardware that will process and then invert video. Just sayinIf I can find time, I'll look into helping with the development of alternate coloring for libreoffice programs. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121380] LibreOffice base readability issue with Dark Theme
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121380 --- Comment #12 from Chuck Bermingham --- One aside: I felt lucky that somehow the database queries and table edits were usable light on dark, at least on version 5, when using the dark theme. I wish I could say the same for calc and writer, but I have to accept they are WYSIWYG and live with it. I jsut find this subtle change disappointing. I did all my wedding lists in Base because of the accessibility. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121380 --- Comment #11 from Chuck Bermingham --- Then why is it that I can write a query: select * from (table) and open it for editing and it looks correct on Mint-Y dark, but: open the table *itself* for editing and the lettering is black except the selection, as shown in my screenshot? I honestly wish I had time to debug this, but I'm guessing the author made a subtle change to the display of the table vs. the disply of the query. I just want back to version 5. I am tired of this. Maybe there is/was a reason for this > configuration. Yes, there is a reason. This toolbar can be seen in action via Help > License Information > Show License. The license window opens in a special "view only" mode which doesn't have the menu bar. So if we will let people close this toolbar, there will be no way to bring it back. Similarly, we don't allow closing the full screen toolbar, because once closed there is no obvious way to leave the full screen mode. This behavior is controlled via a special "NoClose" flag which set to true for the affected toolbars in officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/UI/WriterWindowState.xcu See the original reports which introduced this flag: https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=44348 https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=54492 However, I would suggest to hide the "Standard (Viewing Mode)" entry from the View > Toolbars menu (similar to how we hide the full screen toolbar entry), as it's not useful for normal Writer usage, and just adds confusion. Originally, I was working mainly in one of the Writer windows when it became unresponsive, and I killed the LibreOffice process tree and restarted LibreOffice. The Writer document I was working on was one landscape A4 page, contained one jpeg image, about 160 callouts (created using the Drawing toolbar), and a handful of Text boxes (again created using the Drawing toolbar). I have worked on this document with previous versions of LibreOffice with no real issues. My apologies that I cannot provide more precise information than this on the nature of the crash, but I hope this info may be of some use. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Correct, the feature already exists for Draw. And scroll bars (slider grab, and buttons) are functional in all modules. Yet an ability to reposition the document canvas by mouse pointer placement and mouse or cursor key (U,D,L,R) movments would offer more precise and efficient repositioning of the view of any document canvas. Compared to pointer movement onto the scroll bar control for repositioning which can be too coarse and inprecise, movment originating from current position is efficient. It works that way in Draw--but IMHO would be helpful in all modules. Only question is if the current control for Draw can be used with all VCL canvas, or if control must be refactored. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121298 --- Comment #7 from V Stuart Foote --- (In reply to andreas_k from comment #6) > Stuard any feedback? Sorry, had to ponder this for a bit. I do not like the idea of pushing Direct Formatting back into the context menu, it is not necessary when we have the Sidebar decks--Properties & Styles. And for Draw TextObjects we provide the Sidebar Properties deck showing style or direct formatting, and in Draw itself we provide the Styles Deck to manipulate a Draw Text Object box holding text cursor focus. So, it is not clear that a Context menu is *required* in the general case. But that said, for MUFFIN modes where we suppress Sidebar use, the context menu *would* be of use--and if I recall at the 4.4 -> 5.0 cut over we had left that on the table. Jay had proposed a context sub-menu for Direct Formatting [1]. As then, I would be responsive to exposing a DF sub-menu in those MUFFIN modes when Sidebar is otherwise hidden. But I would not put clutter of DF back directly on the root of context menus anywhere in the GUI. =-ref-= [1] https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86606#c5 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

What I did: I have a calc sheet with county data: Names, size, atheism A different sheet has rates of murders. On a separate sheet, I collect all the data in one row. Some countries have no match, so there will be n/a values (from the vlookup function): NameInhabitants atheism murders Examplistan 42.023 42 U.S.E.G.23.112 #n/a Thirdistan 8.38 99 44 I create a bubble graph, atheism = x axis, murder = y axis, county size = bubble size. It uses the paste websocket command to send data. This overwrites the internal clipboard causing some unusual behavior. 1. Ctrl+C "System" into system clipboard. 2. Ctrl+V, pastes "System" 3. Right-click and click "Internal paste" it pastes "System" 4. Drag-and-drop "drop" onto page. 5. Right-click and click "Internal paste" it pastes "drop" 6. Ctrl+V, pastes "drop" 7. Paste into another application, pastes "System" Step 6 occurs because the client-side is keeping a "hash" of the System clipboard and sending a command to insert the internal clipboard instead of re-sending the data if the hashes match. I imagine this is done to save bandwidth, but it also decreases reliability of the system clipboard pretty badly, especially since there is functionality to explicitly modify the internal clipboard with the internal copy.
