[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122135] New: Horizontal ruler broken in 6.1.3.2

2018-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122135

Bug ID: 122135
Summary: Horizontal ruler broken in 6.1.3.2
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: lwc...@gmail.com

Description:
See screenshot. I have encountered this bug as soon as I upgrade to the said
version.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached ODT file.

Actual Results:
See screenshot.

Expected Results:
N/A

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
I'm not sure if opening the file in another computer will actually reproduce
the problem, but that is very likely because I have tried to open these files
in two different computers. If yes then the bug is likely deterministic.

If a file isn't affected by this bug, then it also doesn't affect my other
computer.

I've already tried disabling OpenGL. That didn't resolve the issue.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122134] New: LibreOffice instlaller msi attempting to install KB2999226 on windows 10 machine.

2018-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122134

Bug ID: 122134
Summary: LibreOffice instlaller msi attempting to install
KB2999226 on windows 10 machine.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: blaze...@gmail.com

Description:
While attempting to install LibreOffice 6.1.3
(https://www.libreoffice.org/donate/dl/win-x86_64/6.1.3/en-US/LibreOffice_6.1.3_Win_x64.msi)
the installation fails and rolls back. After creating a MSI installer log I
tracked down the issue to a Microsoft update attempting to be installed when
installing LibreOffice
(https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows).
Windows update is "disabled" on the machine in question. I understand that
LibreOffice cannot be installed if certain prerequisites are not met however
the KB in question is not applicable to my machine which is running Windows 10
build 1803. Can it be changed to only attempt to install the update on non
Windows 10 machines? I am not intimately familiar with MSI installers so I am
not sure if a condition can be set so that the update is only attempted to be
installed on the applicable operating systems.

Steps to Reproduce:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 121703] Recuva found image which in document that opened by libreoffice

2018-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121703

ok last night i test again...i set lo temporary folder path to usb,its get a
bit weirder here instead of being .png in recuva list the image actually took
the .tmp format but still being an image as i can see the image in thumbnail
view...moreover i was pretty sure the .tmp filename was that random alphabet
and number generated by lo that was in the temp folder.then i run ccleaner wipe
mft free space but not complete, just mft not when ccleaner start wiping free
space, then i run recuva again...the .tmp gone but the .png now appear, the
filename now also random number like mention above.

just in case someone want to try test with ssd/equivalent...try look .tmp if
there no .png(yet?)...also i now confuse because of this result, i dont know
anymore when this is happened, its either during the document
opened/saved/closed(but i'm leaning to close for now since telesto said
so).might want to test recuva while the document still opened vs closed...

Screenshot showing the problem

When using SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=kde5, the font for text in dialogs, toolbars,
status bars etc. is very narrow (and seems to be too narrow for its height).
Fonts in the menu bar and in documents look right. (See attached screenshot).

This happens on X11 at 1920x1080.

Using SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=qt5, the font seems to have a normal width to height
ratio, but fonts are way too large (see bug 122131).

With SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3, everything looks the way it should.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122132] New: Frequent crashes on Mac OS Mojave

2018-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122132

Bug ID: 122132
Summary: Frequent crashes on Mac OS Mojave
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pkgoldb...@gmail.com

Description:
Since upgrading my OS to Mojave 10.14.2, I experience frequent crashes of the
OS, followed by extreme difficulty re-opening LibreOffice files. Even when I
close LibreOffice files, when attempting to reopen a file, I get the attempted
recovery box. The attempted recovery dialogue often leads to the dreaded Mac
"wheel of fortune" and a frequent need to force quit the application and try
again. Can usually get recovery within 3-4 attempts, but sometimes takes many
more tries. Is there a compatibility problem between Libreoffice and Mojave??

Actual Results:
When either LibreOffice actually crashes, or the Mojave OS crashes, I have to
go through the attempted recovery dialogue several times before being able to
recover. Have always been able to eventually recovery (at the last saved
version), but it takes repeated attempts (application stops responding and I
have to force quit and try again).

Expected Results:
Should be able to open a file I've saved and closed without have to go through
"attempted recovery."

6.2 beta1 fixes the issue for me. I'm having some other unrelated issues (weird

obviously unrelated to this issue. Will open new reports for those.

Is this still reproducable with versions >= 6.2-beta1 for anyone else?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108619] Java Crash on x86 in jfw_plugin_startJavaVirtualMachine w/ recent linux kernels

2018-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108619

xubuntu 18.04.1 32-bit (4.15.0-42-generic #45-Ubuntu)

My experience was rather different. LibreOffice would always crash at a point
about 35% through the splash screen, so I couldn't use the UI to disable the
use of Java.

I checked with sysctl -a and also by dumping all strings in the kernel, and
"stack_guard_gap" isn't a valid kernel parameter.

If I edited the LibreOffice config file "javasettings_Linux_x86.xml"

to look like this:

http://openoffice.org/2004/java/framework/1.0;
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance;>

LibreOffice 6.0.6.2 00m0(Build:2) would find the java virtual machine, update
the config file, and then crash as before.

The (partial) solution was to rename /usr/bin/java and /usr/lib/jvm/ AND code
the javasettings file as above. With these steps taken I can at least edit
documents in --writer and spreadsheets with --calc. Creating a native database
requires Java, so that doesn't work, but I was able to attach to a spreadsheet
and treat it like a database. Not sure about Access/Jet or SqLite databases
yet.

Of course, anything else that requires Java is now broken. Java version is

OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 10.0.2+13-Ubuntu-1ubuntu0.18.04.4)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 10.0.2+13-Ubuntu-1ubuntu0.18.04.4, mixed mode)

I tried creating a "Hello World" Java program and it worked as expected.

Hmmm... "Mixed Mode?" Also, this version of was intended for Ubuntu
18.04.**4**, whereas I have 18.04.**1**.

The justification after a line break was added in OOo 2.0 era (see also i13507)
and then UI was adjusted to "Allow configuration of behavior when a line break
is inserted" (see also i45491)

Between i13507 (2004) and i45491 (2007) the default was enabled true to justify
after line break-- but there was no UI to override. That was added for i45491,
and the default enabled true compatibility setting was continued.

I just verified that current Microsoft Word 2016 (16.0.11029.20045) continues
this behavior with a line justified paragraphs being justified to full width
(too much white space) when a line break is inserted. So it remains a
legitimate "compatibility" setting.

Personally, I would think disabled false and non-justified is a better default.
Some of the later discussions of i13507 and dupes suggest that might have been
the better route.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122128] New: text font cannot be automatically retained at once for all elements of an inserted table...

2018-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122128

Bug ID: 122128
Summary: text font cannot be automatically retained at once for
all elements of an inserted table...
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: euf...@gmail.com

LibreOffice Writer 6.1.3.2 in Windows 64 won't let you change from default font
for all elements, all at once, of a table.

OpenOffice, which LibreOffice is supposed to be based on,
easily allows changing all fonts for all cells in a table
with only one click for font, then one click for size of font. Simple.

For all the users of your extremely up-to-date program with all its
extremely nice list of formats, though, there's no easy choice
on the main Writer document composing page to make all the cells
default to a font other than the non-user-selected default font.

It would be more useful to several users if on the main page you
could select font and size with only two front-page clicks.

This proposed solution would help several users in later versions.
It's already incorporated into OpenOffice 4.1.6 by default.

m.b.

I don’t see any sense in this option. Also the reaction of others here being
able to “reproduce this bug” shows that, too.

Can that thus be deactivated by default, please? It’s pretty annoying.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122127] New: Crash in: libmergedlo.so FORM EDIT using drag drop to move control from one dataform to another causes crash

2018-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122127

Bug ID: 122127
Summary: Crash in: libmergedlo.so FORM EDIT using drag drop to
move control from one dataform to another causes crash
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: high
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: drewjensen.in...@gmail.com

Created attachment 147582
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=147582=edit
example file includes form with two top level dataform controls

This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is
br-61e384df-32eb-41c3-afa8-e2a2da8de614.
=

Could not duplicate with 6.1.4.
LO6.2Beta1 (from yesterday build) is consistent crash (100% of times) with
firebird, also happens with hsqldb (but not quite 100% of the time). GTK2/3
made no difference, crash with either.

To reproduce:

1 - open the attached odb with embedded FB database
2 - open any of the forms in edit mode (form design)
3 - open the dataform navigator windows
4 - expand the two top level dataforms "Form" and "Form 1" (double click them)
5 - use the mouse to drag one of the label controls from "Form" to "Form 1"
crash

NOTE: after recovery the control will have been moved so the crash appears to
happen after the file is updated for the change and when it is preparing to
update the GUI.

Will update the bibisect files here and give that a try, today.

Screenshot showing the issue, with "use printer metrics..." deactivated

Thanks for the quick check!

The "Use printer metrics for text formatting" checkbox is unset by default in
my case.

Unfortunately:
- With LO 6.0.7.3 on up-to-date Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS: Toggling the "Use printer
metrics for text formatting" checkbox has no affect. (The cells get re-drawn on
the change, resulting in disappearance of the issue, but the issue comes back
on the next zoom change.)

- With 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (current daily) on not quite up-to-date Ubuntu 18.04.1
LTS liveUSB: With "Use printer metrics for text formatting" checkbox activated,
the issue becomes worse - there is an additional vertical shift of the letter
parts. See attached screenshot.

It could be a Linux or Ubuntu-specific issue, though. I don't have the
combination of the current LO master on fully up-to-date Linux, unfortunately.

Can not reproduce on Windows build 6.1.4.2, or current master.

Sounds rather like a GPU driver issue.

Please try setting/unsetting the "Use printer metrics for text formatting"
checkbox in the Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice Calc -> General panel. We have
seen that this will impose better structure on the cells on screen--but at a
performance cost when working in the sheet.

Let us know if that corrects on screen handling.

You might also try updated drivers and a more current build of LibreOffice than
6.0.7 which is EOL.

Can not confirm on Windows 10 Home 64-bit en-US (1803) with

Build ID: 25073d18caee244880112e52c4a7e71f6081b3a9
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL;
Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: CL

or current master/6.3 build.

And in fact if I open the ODT archive of the sample document from comment 1 a
review of its content.xml shows that the code point for the glyph is *not*
U+2042 but rather is U+07fa

NKo is Unicode range 07c0-07ff, and is a RTL script. So its use would trigger
the ICU lib BiDi handling, which IIUC in LibreOffice *would* trigger the CTL
handling, and which gets assigned Hindi with a default user profile.

Not sure how OP generated the character when inserting into sample document,
but when picking U+2042 ASTERISM from the SpecialCharacter dialog, or an
external app (e.g. BabelMap), the U+2042 glyph is rendered correctly to canvas
and there is no BiDi shift to RTL or change to CTL (Hindi default).

So, WFM. And IMHO => NAB

Gues OP can reopen if proving details on method of character input that
actually reproduces the wrong codepoint.

Test spreadsheet

Text lines are cut and shifted along the former border of the merged cell. The
direction and size of the shift are zoom dependent. The used font does not seem
to play a role.

Test steps:
1. Open attached sample file (or re-create it by merging cells and inputting
text)
2. Zoom in or out

Expected results:
2. Text letters do not get cut and shifted along their middle

Actual results:
2. Text letters get cut and shifted along their middle (corresponding to the
former border of merged rows)

Note: The text gets "repaired" on update of the cell, e.g., on a change of the
used font. But the issue re-appears on subsequent zooming.

I got an errormessage here when try deleting by delete key or by context menu
of the row:
-
firebird_sdbc error:
*exception 1
*EX_CHECK_ISSUED
*May not delete record for check already issued
*At trigger 'DELETE_CHECK' line: 6, col: 49
caused by
'isc_dsql_execute'

But if I click one time on delete of the navigation-bar the error won't appear
any more for any row of the form. Seems navigation-bar suppresses the message.

Tested with LO 6.1.4.2 OpenSUSE 15 64bit rpm Linux.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122125] New: Writer LO Math Formulas distorted

2018-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122125

Bug ID: 122125
Summary: Writer LO Math Formulas distorted
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: herm...@rochholz.de

I know it's unspecific, sorry.

I work as an IT teacher and my pupils have to insert Object- also write a
formula.

And I they have chosen in Writer: Insert Object -> Formula -> and then they had
to insert an example and they had to modify it.
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
And nearly ALL pupils had the problem with adistorted formulas: not enough
space und the "c" was overprinting over the "=". A catastrophy in a class.
Or the formula had a height of 10 cm.
They use Win10

Lateron I wanted to reproduce and I went to exactly this computer under a
differen account.
New Document-> Insert Object -> Formula -> Example a^2 + b^2 = c^2 -
And everything looked perfect! Waah!
And the boy, who had horrible problems,
reopened the document- it looked perfect, too.

What's going on there?

The thing:
When I personally wrote formulas with LO Writer in mAth I had a similar effect
( I also work as math and physics teacher).
It seemed to happen when much is introduced into the document before.
I havo no real idea... I use Win7 - not Win10.

I thought also it was caused by importing from MS word (see bug 42723).
But my class wrote a writer document. There was no import from word.

And therefore I have NO example to place here.
Because when document is re-opened it looks fine.

Kind regards
Hermann

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122124] New: EDITING: Show index entries which are names as ", " in alphabetical indexes

2018-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122124

Bug ID: 122124
Summary: EDITING: Show index entries which are names as ", " in alphabetical indexes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: plixp...@yahoo.de

If a text contains a name like "Theresa May", and you define it as an index
entry for an alphabetical index, the index entry is not shown as "May,
Theresa", and currently you cannot configure LO Writer to do so.

So I suggest an additional field in the "Insert Index Entry" window below the
"Entry" field. This new field could have the following descripion text: "Term's
spelling in the Alpabetical index", into which one could type "May, Theresa",
as in the example above.

But "May, Theresa" in the alphabetical index refers to all instances of
"Theresa May", not "May, Theresa" in the text of the document.

Please also make sure that German names like "Freiherr von Zeitgenstein" (a
name containing more than two words; compare with bug issue 122054) can be
definded as "Zeitgenstein, Freiherr von" in such an additional field in
alphabetical indexes, and that this definition ("Zeitgenstein, Freiherr von")
refers to all undeclined and declined instances of "Freiherr von Zeitgenstein"
in the text of the document.

Hi,

Compress Image dialog does not have the %100 Jpeg Quality option.

Reproduce the bug:

- Open a text document and add an image.
- Choose Format - Image - Compress.
- Change JPEG Quality level to make it %100.

Level won't go further than %99 even if you put your value as 100.

Multiple data series can be displayed together in a selected chart type
already.
It can happen then that these series deal with data types which have got a high
probability that a lot of values will be (almost) the same. The value
distribution would hinder a clear display in a single multi-series chart.
Thus each data series should be presented in a separate chart while the X axis
can be shared between them.
