[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122186] New: FILESAVE: Input fields saved in DOCX get corrupted

2018-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122186

Bug ID: 122186
Summary: FILESAVE: Input fields saved in DOCX get corrupted
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: filter:docx
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu
Blocks: 104523

Created attachment 147658
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=147658&action=edit
Sample ODT

The attached ODT contains an 'Input list' and an 'Input field', both added to
an empty document via Insert -> Field -> More fields... / Functions Tab.
This bug report is about what happens if the sample is saved as DOCX, and
opened in Writer / Word.
Note that Writer currently has limited support for Word's different types of
form controls, this issue is just about patching up the export code to produce
reasonably working controls.

In Word, for legacy form elements (the ones these are supposed to be exported
as) to be fillable, 'Restrict Editing' has to be set with 'Editing
restrictions' set to only allow 'Filling in forms'. In Writer the corresponding
setting is a compatibility option: 'Protect Form' in Options -> LibreOffice
Writer -> Compatibility. In Writer the form elements can be filled even if the
'Protect Form' compatibility option isn't set.

Thus the expected behavior would be the following:

1. If compatibility option 'Protect Form' is not set during save:
 a. In Writer the input fields should be fillable as is, the text should be
editable.
 b. In Word the input fields should be fillable after setting 'Editing
restrictions' to 'Filling in forms'.

2. If compatibility option 'Protect Form' is set during save:
 a. Both in Writer and Word the text should read-only, but the input fields
should be fillable.

Actual behavior:

1.a. In Writer the list remains, but no entries can be selected, the field
disappears.
1.b. In Word the field disappears, the list seems to be editable after
restricting to 'Filling in forms' (might still be corrupted, didn't check in
detail).

2.a. In Writer the document is a single read-only region that otherwise is
similar to 1.a. In Word the document is restricted, but the whole region is
editable (input list doesn't work, and the field disappears in this case as
well).

Observed using LO 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (2018-12-18,
2b9739b9b009de93efa4f24995469c3bb9d82261) & 4.0.0.3 / Windows 7.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104635] UI: If an image is selected, you can select Styles, Insert Styles (it isn't grayed out) but isn't working either

2018-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104635

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122124] EDITING: Show index entries which are names as ", " in alphabetical indexes

2018-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122124

Sometimes it can be useful if we put a name with different spellings. I think
it would be easy to enter them separated by colons like

"Bill Gates;Gates, Bill; William H. Gates"

With this solution the reader would be able to find the name with more
spellings. This can be beneficial in case of asian names when more western
transspelling co-exist.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122184] New: Spellcheck highlight updates only after entering space or new line after specific word

2018-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122184

Bug ID: 122184
Summary: Spellcheck highlight updates only after entering space
or new line after specific word
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Linguistic
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: larionenkorus...@gmail.com

Spellcheck highlight(red line) doesn't update if user change(fix spell) some
word and move cursor to an other word. Space or new line entering is required
to update spellcheck highlight.

Steps to reproduce:
Enter "Dog and cat"
Change to "Dogr and cat"
Move cursor from "Dogr" to an other word using mouse or arrow buttons.

Actual result:
"Dogr" isn't highlighted as incorrect word. User should enter space or new line
after Dogr word to update highlight.

Expected result(works well in Microsoft Word Online):
"Dogr" should be highlighted as incorrect word.

Possible it is not bug and it is just specific behavior.
But I think LO should update spellcheck highlight dynamically(without entering
space or new line after specific words).

(In reply to Michael Weghorn from comment #11)
I have to note again it works without kde or gtk however it's not the preferred
vcl obviously for the user, various errors and instability related to kde
environment, etc.
I'd have been happy to provide backtrace at the first glance already however
it's an infinite loop and that's why I started with direct results. Anyways I
don't know what the heck it means but when I try to get backtrace it says it's
not in executable format, unbelievable.
---
gdb libreoffice 2>&1 | tee ~/gdb-libreoffice.txt
...
"/usr/bin/libreoffice": not in executable format: File format not recognized
---
Whenever you have a chance let me know what did I do wrong, how should I get
backtrace or what should I do. I absolutely understand if you say it's a dead
end or you have no more time. Thanks

I also can not reproduce.

SVM/BMP Images held in frames on the Writer document canvas simply are not
multi-selectable.

The object is handled differently in Draw/Impress where the toggles the
selection.

The other Draw objects "shapes" and "text boxes" on Writer canvas are
multi-selectable with the control.

Bug ID: 122182
   Summary: Spreadsheet printing error
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: thosp...@gmail.com

Description:
Landscape Calendar spreadsheet Prints correct size in incorrect location.

Using LibreOffce Calc, I opened a 2019 landscape calendar to print on 11x17
paper with an Epson Artisan 1430 printer. Printed size was correct except the
image was shifted to fit 8.5 inch wide paper. Tried several times..., finally I
told LibreOffice to save the file as an XLS file and printed that correctly
with Quattro Pro X5, so printer is not the problem.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go here - http://www.calendarpedia.com/2019-calendar-excel-templates.html
2. Get This - Download Excel Calendar 2019 template 8
3. Open in Calc, Set page to 11x17, & Print to wide format printer

Actual Results:
Calendar printed at the Correct zoom, but ONLY on the rightmost 8.5 inch width.

Expected Results:
I wanted 11x17 format - approx 11x15"

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Printed the form correctly!

In [1], a user sought for the option. He gave a reason for that - he needs a
fixed name format consisting of a hash string without an extension.

Actually, even ignoring that, there is an inconsistency here then: the option
is available in all other pickers (Win; built-in; KDE; ...) - so then we should
either remove it everywhere, or add to GTK for consistency.

I am using

Version: 6.0.7.3

CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;

And it works fine. Maybe 6.1 broke it?

It is a bug. The expected behavior is, that Alt+Insert switches for 3 seconds
into insert mode where you can insert rows/columns by using the arrow keys. The
cursor moves to the new row/column.
Similar switches Alt+Del to delete mode for 3 seconds. Now you can delete
row/column by using the arrow keys.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122181] New: Impress Slide show: video always full screen on Ubuntu 18

2018-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122181

Bug ID: 122181
Summary: Impress Slide show: video always full screen on Ubuntu
18
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: anastasius_zw...@hotmail.com

Description:
In Slide Show mode, every video is full screen and no way to change this. Same
files work correctly with LO 5.1.6.2 under Ubuntu 16.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new presentation
2. Insert Audio/Video, select a video file
3. Go to presentation mode

Actual Results:
Video is scaled to full screen (which can badly change the aspect ratio, e.g. I
have square videos that become stretched to 16:9). The slide (aprt from the
video) is invisible. Right-clicking gives a menu, but there is not menu item to
leave full screen mode, just the usual menu for navigating to other slides.
There is also no option to avoid full-screen mode in the Media Playback (right
sidebar). With Slide Show>Slide show settings, I can have the slide in a
window, but the video still covers all of the slide (and flickers badly).

Expected Results:
Video should be shown in its box in the slide, as it was with LibreOffice 5
(using the same .odp and videos). A separate option to have it full screen
would be nice, but this should not be the default behavior.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Unbuntu 18.04.1 LTS, Core i7-8550U, using Intel graphics in the CPU.
Linux 4.15.0-42-generic #45-Ubuntu x86_64 GNU/Linux.
LibreOffice Version: 6.0.7.3
Build ID: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.2
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

Same problem with "Hardware acceleration" disabled in
Tools>Options>Libreoffice>View
Same problem in "Safe mode" (I even created a new presentation there).

The problem seems to be independent of the video codec (H.264, cinepak) and
container format (avi, mov).

I had to install the following to make LO show videos at all (Firefox could
show videos also without this).
  apt-get install gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly gstreamer1.0-libav

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122162] Inserting a new row with ALT+insert does not work as described in help

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122162

--- Comment #3 from Hanif Bin Ariffin ---
Hi,

I think I have found the problem. The documentation was vague on whether or not
you have to hold press ALT + INSERT.

What you should do is press ALT + INSERT. Lift your hands and then press Up or
Down key to insert the rows.

I guess the documentation did say "then" but I would argue that it is more
intuitive to hold press instead of just press.

Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Languages: check "Ignore system input
language" and then set the "Default Languages for Documents" for Western,
Asian, Complex text as appropriate.

Those settings will be the defaults. Can be set just for current document, or
persistent in user profile.

With that change, the insertion of text will be the "same as on the point of
insertion" remember to add the extra empty paragraph to pick up the default.

I see, I think I originally ran the wrong one and not the one named "Run". I do
get the same error as Tobias, if running "Run" now.

Does this also happen when you use the "plain" gtk3 VCL plugin instead of
gtk3_kde5? You can select this one by setting the environment variable
"SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3" before starting LibreOffice.

Also, it may be helpful to know if this still happens with the current
development version of LibreOffice. If you want to check, you can download a
daily build at https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/ and use it as
described e.g. at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux .

> can't we have native Qt
> bindings like you do with GTK?)
There's actually a native qt5/kde5 backend that will be part of LibreOffice 6.2
(though it still has some bugs, s. meta bug 102495). You can also get a first
impression of that by using a daily build if you like.
